The way the actors' and showrunner's faces fell and froze when the interviewer called Edwin and Charles a gay/straight friendship continues to bolster my trust.
But also, that was just an accurate bisexual experience.

Edwin realizing his feelings for Charles

Charles really said "she's a lot like you, maybe that's why I like her so much" while making THAT face, and "the answer's gotta be somewhere inside that brain of yours" while gently tapping Edwin's temple, and "they won't separate us" and "I'm not leaving you", and he kept being frustrated and jealous by every one of Edwin's love interests, and that slutty little "my smile can be prETTy convincing", and being overprotective of Edwin, and comparing them to Orpheus and Eurydice, and all this just so that he could stand on the stairs of hell, gently caressing Edwin's collar bones with his thumbs and saying "i can't really say im IN love with you".
My boy that is the most unhinged of behaviours

all fictional characters are someone’s oc, but it somehow becomes even clearer when it’s Neil Gaiman. like Hey this is my guy. he’s an edwardian schoolboy who is also a ghost. yes he’s gay. no he doesn’t talk about it. of course he’s in love with his best friend. got sick of rotating him in my head so I put him in hell canonically. twice. he has autism but he get’s all the bitches. his last name is Pain.

I'm watching this interview, and George and Jayden got me in tears. Like, I'm literally tearing up. But I think all the interview is so awesome, so here are some points:
I mean, common guys, the amount of "you're the best"/"no, you're the best!" interactions between these two is unbelievable, they are giving me toothache
George saying he's an overthinker but the chemistry with Jayden was something he didn't need to think about, cause since they met, it was just there.
Jayden saying that now it feels like they have been friends for longer than Edwin and Charles. And also, mentioning the fact they were asked if they had worked together before when they knew each other for like a week.
"I'm not gonna say it was annoying—how well they get along (...)" I just know that it was annoying, like you're no lying to me, sir. They were annoying af.
George talking about Edwin's Confession: "(...) What it's great about that moment, is that it offers the best case scenario—which I would say for queer characters on screen— you don't offen see. There's often a nice dose of trauma mixed in there."
Steve about the confession: "(...) That moment need to happen in the stairs in hell. (...) Edwin didn't know if they were gonna get out so he didn't know how many chances he was going to have, and I also don't think that he believed he would have the courage to say it if they made it back"
Jayden saying he meant it when he delivered the "you're the only person I would go to hell for" line, due to how close George and him are.
George research about Boarding School culture for Edwin included things as fives and riding horses, he also mentioned hunting lmao
What they said about all the cast and the way they work together, it's too much to put it here, but my god, it's sounds so cool [27:12]
"Look, every gay man had identified with every final girl in a slasher film for the entirety of history. Like we know what it's like to live that life" [!]
Steve saying that he wouldn't have written an autistic character and put an actor whose not part of the spectrum to play it, and adding that Edwin's personality traits are a consequence of his upbringing (his mother never touched him with an ungloved hand) and the fact he lives in kind of his own little bubble. Yes sir, that just confirmed this to me in a hundred different levels.
That's all!

i just know charles and edwin would be insanely good at games like charades and password. they could say the most unrelated bullshit that has to do with a case from years ago and the other one will get it and they’ll win. crystal and niko think their advantage is completely unfair and stopped letting them be on a team together

I wish... idk, I am sad that a story can be so clear about the possibility of a romance between its same sex main characters and that interpretation still be erased.
A story that has Charles looking at Edwin like he hung the moon, yap about how Edwin and Crystal are alike, the camera lingering on his obvious discomfort at both Monty and the Cat King monopolizing Edwin (while showing him display no such anxiety about Edwin and Niko's growing closeness). The narrative winks at the audience about shipping Charles and Edwin, and also has there be clear visual parallels between the extent of Charles and Edwin's feelings for each other. Yet their potential and Charles queerness is erased by people whose job it is to analyse media.
The actor says outright that the door isn't closed on them, that Charles didn't reject Edwin, and that it is more a love story, yet that queer reading of Charles and his relationship with Edwin still gets erased.
I don't know what it would take for an industry to stop dismissing and running roughshod over queer interpretations that are not binary and basic, but I do know it has been a while since I felt the biphobia this keenly before. I hope the actor who plays Charles knows it's not on him, he did a great job.
Anyway, Charles is now my new favourite queer character. Take that press junket.
