TL;DR: Janitor AI romanticises r*pe and enables r*pe fantasies, which can have dangerous effects in real life.
First and foremost, I understand that Janitor AI is a NSFW platform, and I understand that some people are into CNC scenarios, however, Janitor AI has a serious problem with straight-up rape. This post is not designed to kinkshame those into CNC, but I believe that it's time we talk about how Janitor AI romanticises rape.
In section 4.2 of Janitor AI's Community Guidelines, it states that for limitless bots, "Characters containing themes of rape and sexual violence are allowed.". As such, there is a large amount of bots on Janitor AI which involve rape plots. This ranges from Free Use RPG bots, where you can do basically anything, to bots where the bot is designed to be raped, or rape the user. Rape is a serious crime, and more often than not, is romanticised on this platform.
In late November of 2024, a bot was published under the name of 'Enemy being raped'. The initial profile picture was gorey and p*rnographic, and the very plot of the bot was about a girl being raped by two men, and the user witnessing it. Additionally, the description of the bot encouraged the user to join in on raping the girl, reading "It's up to you whether save her, stand by and watch, or even join them.". Clearly, this bot was designed to arouse, through its explicit profile picture and encouraging description. This bot rightfully received large amounts of backlash, resulting in the creator writing a statement in the bot's description, which read, and I quote "In this case it was an emotionless bot, driven by an algorithm. What harm would it have done?".
Over and over again, it has been proven that fictional content does in fact, have effects on people. Whilst what occurs on Janitor AI is fictional, the impact which these bots can have on someone's mental state is not. The purpose of fiction is to send a message, to make you think, to make you question. So what happens when you consume media which romanticises rape? We as a society draw the line at fictional sexual content involving minors because it's illegal and immoral, and because the more you are exposed to content of a certain nature, the more your brain normalises it. You become desensitised, which just leads to more and more consumption of this content, which then distorts how you see real children. So then apply this logic to rape bots, which degrade and invalidate the autonomy of another (usually women), which act like rape is actually fine. Do you see the problem?
I have seen my fair share of comments on bots which brag about raping the bot. Comments invalidating the experiences of rape victims. Comments acting like being offended by rape makes you a "snowflake". Does this not seem like a direct effect of the romanticisation of rape in media? Janitor AI breeds an environment where the weightiness of rape is dismissed. Rape is not something to be dismissed, nor is it something to be romanticised. It is something very real that impacts at least 1 in 30 women, and leaves them with scars that are hard to heal.
Janitor AI enables sickos to live out their fantasies with little to no repercussion. That is not okay. It is one thing to be in a CNC scenario with safewords and precautions and aftercare. It's another to romanticise rape.
