Astronomy Student Xavier Headcanons
Part of Reasons you shouldn't skip your 8AM Au Masterlist and info ---> here Likes, reblogs and comments appreciated!!! <3 Please don't repost my content to other platforms Divider credit in my pinned
Xavier who's more surprised he hasn't gotten a cease and desist from you for stalking with how often he runs into you
not that it was on purpose! You happened to have a physics class together which led to studying together once and never again because of how much you worked
which led to him discovering you work at one of his favorite restaurants, it was always busy when he came in so you never noticed him there, or so he thought
Astronomer!Xavier who's classes have to start at the minimum of noon or else he will sleep through them no matter how many alarms he has set so after 3 years of getting away with it he realizes with great dread that he has to schedule an 8AM class he has no other option, he could take it online..
but astonomer!Xavier is also very lazy, the sin of Sloth reincarnated, he knew he wouldn't do the work
So he enrolls
Xavier misses the first two weeks of class after falling back asleep each and every time his alarm went off, he gets the work done but the professor refuses to put the slides in the online forum "If you miss you make it up yourself." is written explicitly in the syllabus in bold print so he couldn't miss it
He doesn't know what to expect when you show up at his door with a stack of neatly typed notes in one hand and a cup of coffee in the other
He finds your number on a sticky note in the middle of the stack with your name and a smiley face next to it, not that he needed it of course, he learned your name your first year at the school and hasn't been able to get it out of his mind since
Xavier who's been trying to come up with an excuse to talk to you since orientation day when you sat next to him nevermind that the gym was packed and you seemed to sit there cause you had nowhere else to go.
When he finally calls you you don't pick up only to call him later, out of breath and apologizing, you were at your internship doing work for nearly 12 hours
the man asks you over before he can even think about the words he's saying
He can hear the smile on your face as you say sure and hang up
Astronomer!Xavier who invited you over under the idea of studying for a few of your shared classes
but then you kiss him and all thought of doing anything but you flys out of his head faster than light itself

semester success. ᥫ᭡
[ 3 chapter mini series ]
in this series, i’m going to teach you all my helpful tips and tricks on how to succeed in the new semester in just 3 quick chapters! get ready to take notes, we’re diving right in!

chapter one — THE STARTING WEEK
the first week of a new semester can be daunting. how the rest of your semester will go depends on how your first week starts. so let’s make sure we start the semester on the right foot!
class is in session …
୨ৎ — the week before
if you can start preparations at least one week before the start of the new semester, do it!
here’s what you can do:
monday & tuesday - gather all your supplies
the basics…
backpack / school bag
folders / binders / notebooks / planner
pencil case / pencils / pens / highlighters
laptop / tablet / tablet pen / chargers
essentials…
textbooks / required materials
personal care & hygiene products (i.e. deodorant, perfume, lip balm, hair ties, hand sanitizer, feminine products)
headphones
in case you’re missing a few extra supplies, be sure to go and make those necessary purchases! create a checklist if you have to!
wednesday - check student email
be sure to check your student email for any new updates from your teachers/professors! you also want to make sure you give yourself a solid amount of time before classes start back up to keep checking for updates and/or important announcements.
** from this point up until the day before your new semester starts, keep checking your student email. i recommend checking at least 4 times per day! once in the morning around 8-9am, twice in the afternoon around 12-1pm & around 3-4pm, and then once more at night around 7-8pm!
thursday & friday - plan for the first week
grab your planner (whether it’s physical or digital) and take some time to plan out your first week! make note of what classes you have on what days & include the times those classes start, write down any important non-school related appointments/events that you have during that first week, and be sure to include time during that first week where you can rest and relax.
saturday - review syllabus & double checking
take some time out of your day to read and review each of your class’ syllabi! make sure you read through them thoroughly and highlight any important dates that show up in the course semester schedule. i also recommend highlighting your teachers’/professors’ contact information, and if they have office hours be sure to make note of that as well!
also, let this second-to-last day before the start of the semester be designated for last minute preparations. double check that you have all your supplies, check your student email again, and just make sure you complete everything else that might be on your to-do list.
sunday - relaxing & decompressing
the final day of your break before the semester starts should be used to just rest and relax. treat yourself kindly on this day; pamper yourself! do skincare, treat yourself to a cozy day in, watch your favorite show or movies, journal! do something that makes you feel at ease and makes you feel happy! it’s important to have a day where you can just relax and only focus on relaxing.
you might also want to ease your mind by doing some last minute cleaning and reorganizing! starting a new semester with a refreshed study space/room (whether it be an office or your bedroom) can help alleviate some stress that might still be lingering. refresh your space and clear your mind!
this little schedule might not be the exact one you follow, and that’s okay! i made this as an example of what you can do & what your week before might look like!
୨ৎ — academic weapon style
get dressed up for your first week back! wear the clothes that make you feel confident and that help you set the tone for yourself.
gather inspiration! dress like your favorite academic icons! hop onto pinterest & look for style inspo for different characters like…
rory gilmore
hermione granger
meredith grey
cristina yang
elle woods
spencer hastings
blair waldorf

cristina yang , blair wladorf , spencer hastings
୨ৎ — create a consistent morning & night routine
it’s important to have a routine, especially in the morning and at night. having a routine that works for you and your schedule will help smooth any rough edges that might come up during your semester!
go to sleep & wake up at the same time every day
incorporate self care/hygiene routine in the morning and night
include health & wellness aspects (journaling, morning yoga, etc.)
make your bed as soon as you wake up
set aside time to unwind/time for yourself
୨ৎ — chat with/get to know your professors
the first week is all about figuring out the vibe of your class, so get a feel for your environment and who your professors are! you will be working with them for the next 16 weeks!
use this time to ask questions, let your professor know a little bit about you, and take notes on what your professor asks from you and your classmates during this semester.
after you’ve taken the time to review the syllabus prior to classes starting, write down possible questions or concerns that you can bring up to your teachers!
before you’re dismissed …
take on the first week with your full strength! create that good first impression for yourself and set the path for your incoming success!
with lots of love, faustina 🌷

Having almost finished college for the year, I feel like there are a few things I must say to those interested in going to college or riddled with nerves regarding their future in academia. 1) No one knows what they're doing, and if they do, they're not going to care or remember an awkward encounter you had with them, so don't worry about it. 2) Do however care about the connections you make! It's incredibly important to meet professors in office hours and figure out who your peers are! 2.5) Do not expect transactional relationships with others, that's the quickest way to loose friendships. Call it personal experience. 3) FIND out about university resources! Is there a tutoring facility? What does their disability center look like? 4) Make sure you have documentation and an appointment planned if you need disability accommodations, that stuff can take forever. 5) GET SUFFICIENT NUTRIENTS, make sure you get fruits and veg, as well as protein daily! 6) If you commute make sure you have commuter friends, that legitimately sucked not having freshman year. 7) Familiarize yourself with the university library, I promise you it makes life easier 8) If you're in an honors college or organization, do not limit yourself to interacting with just them. It will be insufferable and isolating, make sure to branch out. 9) Additionally, if an organization requires a fee to be paid for each semester you participate for, be wary. Is it worth it to be in a 'prestigious' club if you're required to pay $100 per semester? I didn't think so. 10) Following the previous tip, if you didn't get into an honors college or organization, do not feel bad. You are smart and capable regardless. 11) Do not compare yourself to others - everyone is at different stage of life, no one is on the same path nor will anyone ever be. Quit it with the deprecation or lack of self worth. 12) If you study a lot with physical textbooks, invest in a bookstand-- I bought mine off of amazon for 20 bucks, best thing I've ever spent money on. 13) Email professors in advance regarding the syllabus, that way you can prepare in advance. 14) Just because a textbook is on the syllabus, doesn't mean you have to buy it. However, do not cut corners for books that are important, what you use to study matters (ex. cheap textbook that loosely covers the class's content vs an e-textbook you can rent online) 14) have fun! yes, you're paying to get an education, but as a trusted friend of mine has told me-- a stressed brain does not retain information well. Make sure you're doing at least 1 of every type of the following: a hobby that's physical, a hobby that's creative, a hobby that's educational, a hobby that's financial, and one that evolves your mindset.
#college#university#united states#studying#textbook#student life#student#I am in stem in case anyone's curious#also#be aware of the classism held in elite college spaces#and the fact everyone is so stressed to finish early that they don't care about their sanity#don't be that person#there's a reason college is 4 years and not 2 or 3

Welcome to Hell
alright guys here's my proper good morning
One of my physics classes updated early so school officially has started. Random insanity and writing updates are prob gonna plummet for a while. Membermentmania is still gonna get updated when I do write, but there will definitely be significantly less of me writing from like now through Halloween season.
Fic updates will be normal but I may or may not be a lil less yappy.
Send prayers.
10:30 I looked at my syllabus and I have time (which I will not be abusing, I swear) so I'm letting myself work on genesis for a bit before I actually throw myself into physics hell. Guess who's finally finishing chapter 22!!!!!!
It's me.
I'm doing it.
Because I don't wanna have to go backwards after I press on.
But I am literally concepting a realm as I type and it is wild. I am thanking the gods I don't believe in for gifting me an unrelenting, endless, forever yappy internal monologue.
(12:20) Forgot to update immediately 22 is done and I am back to reading and sitting at 94.5k. Holy shit, y'all. Me personally, I love the angel I just concepted. There was no thought only process and writing. AND I LOVE IT!!!!!
Not more than Romeo and Juliet.
BUT GOD, THE ANGEL OF DOOMED MAGICAL GIRLS IS FUCKING WONDERFUL.
(12:31) Ugh I'm up to reading 25 and now I'm just thinking about the fact that the title 'I Want To Live' applies to Stan, but isn't actually about Stan at all. Because this chapter is a lie in the sense that it's not actually Stan centric, despite focusing on him for the amount of time that it does. Shoot me. AND I HAVE TO READ 26 AFTER THIS
I'm abt to start incoherently screaming. They hurt my soul.
(2:52) I just wrote the entirety of 27, save for the beginning flashback. And once again concepted an angel no thought just writing it out. Seems to be that I am good at that. But needless to say, I'm devastated. And now back on track with finishing this. Also I'm at 97.2k.

Guiding Your Child through the CBSE System: Essential Tips for Parents in Coimbatore

Navigating the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) system can be both rewarding and challenging for parents. With its structured curriculum, national recognition, and emphasis on holistic development, CBSE schools in Coimbatore provide a strong foundation for students. However, parental involvement plays a crucial role in ensuring a child’s success.
This comprehensive guide offers practical tips to help you support your child’s academic journey in CBSE-affiliated schools, covering study habits, exam preparation, extracurricular balance, and emotional well-being—all while maintaining a focus on Coimbatore’s competitive educational landscape.
Why Choose CBSE Schools in Coimbatore?
The CBSE board is widely preferred for several reasons:
Nationally Recognized Curriculum: Ensures smooth transitions for families relocating across India.
Competitive Exam Alignment: The syllabus is designed to prepare students for JEE, NEET, and other national-level entrance tests.
Holistic Development: Emphasizes academics, sports, arts, and life skills for well-rounded growth.
Technological Integration: Many CBSE schools in Coimbatore incorporate smart classrooms and digital learning tools.
Parents in Coimbatore appreciate the board’s structured approach, which balances rigorous academics with opportunities for creative and physical development.
Parenting Tips for CBSE Success
1. Establish a Structured Study Routine
A consistent study schedule helps children manage the CBSE syllabus effectively.
Designate a quiet, well-lit study space.
Break study sessions into 45-minute blocks with short breaks.
Encourage daily revision to reinforce concepts.
Pro Tip: Use real-life examples (e.g., cooking, shopping) to teach math and science concepts.
2. Understand the CBSE Curriculum
Familiarize yourself with the CBSE grading system, exam patterns, and key subjects.
Focus on NCERT textbooks, as CBSE exams are primarily based on them.
Track syllabus updates from the official CBSE website.
Attend parent-teacher meetings to stay informed about your child’s progress.
3. Encourage Active Learning over Rote Memorization
CBSE emphasizes conceptual understanding. Help your child:
Solve practical problems rather than just memorizing facts.
Use mind maps, flashcards, and quizzes for better retention.
Discuss lessons to improve critical thinking.
4. Balance Academics and Extracurricular Activities
While CBSE is academically rigorous, a well-rounded education includes:
Sports for physical fitness and discipline.
Arts and music for creativity.
Coding, robotics, or public speaking for skill development.
Set reasonable limits on screen time and encourage hobbies that complement school learning.
5. Leverage Digital Learning Tools
Many CBSE schools in Coimbatore use technology for interactive learning. Supplement this with:
Educational apps (Byju’s, Khan Academy, Toppr).
Online quizzes and video tutorials for difficult topics.
E-libraries for additional reading material.
6. Teach Effective Time Management
CBSE’s extensive syllabus requires smart planning. Help your child:
Maintain a planner for assignments, tests, and projects.
Prioritize tasks based on deadlines and difficulty.
Avoid last-minute cramming by spacing out study sessions.
7. Prepare for Board Exams Strategically
Class 10 and 12 board exams are crucial. Support your child by:
Starting revision at least 3-4 months in advance.
Practicing with previous years’ question papers.
Simulating exam conditions with timed tests.
8. Foster a Growth Mindset
Encourage resilience and a positive attitude toward learning.
Praise effort, not just results (e.g., “You worked hard!” instead of “You’re so smart!”).
Normalize mistakes as part of the learning process.
Set achievable goals to build confidence.
9. Monitor Emotional Well-being
Academic pressure can be stressful. Ensure your child:
Takes regular breaks and gets enough sleep.
Engages in relaxing activities like meditation or hobbies.
Feels comfortable discussing school-related anxieties.
10. Stay Engaged with the School Community
Participate in school events and workshops.
Network with other parents for shared tips and support.
Communicate regularly with teachers to address concerns early.
Conclusion
Choosing a CBSE school in Coimbatore is just the first step—your involvement as a parent significantly impacts your child’s success. By fostering good study habits, maintaining a balanced routine, and providing emotional support, you can help your child thrive in the CBSE system.
Remember, education is not just about grades; it’s about nurturing curiosity, resilience, and a lifelong love for learning. With the right guidance, your child can excel academically while developing essential life skills for the future.
