Huge news for people interested in similar things to this blog, the Say Something In Welsh team is launching an Irish language course! Resources, especially listening resources have been quite hard to find in Irish, I know way more people that can read and write in Irish than speak it with any confidence at all, and the Say Something method gave me so much more confidence in my own Welsh speaking, I imagine then coming into the Irish language teaching space is a really good thing.

Their founder Aran Jones says they've been in talks with the Irish government for 'copromotion', and while I'm not fully sure what that entails, it must be a road to having more and more widely available, quality learning resources for Gaeilge.

Since this blog is followed not just by Welsh learners, but a lot of people generally interested in language learning and Celtic studies, thought I'd mention it here! Dyn ni'n dod nôl i feddwl yn Gymraeg yn fuan, dwi'n siwr :)

D is working with the BMG label so it’s more BMG’s responsibility to make sure the album is promoted especially if BMG want a profit from it.

I doubt D’s team aren’t likely bothered because they aren’t making any more money of it. Explains why R wasn’t bothered post launch and merch packs.

If it’s dropping since the launch then it’s not gaining traction. However remember it was released one song at a time. People are already familiar with 3 of the songs already.

The tweet from DS made me smile. Imho that’s not the best song on the album. So I think there’s a reason DS chose that one?!

Also DS and COpromoting it, who both guested on Roy/alties? That called scratching each other’s backs.

On the compelling change, yes they’ve tried to create a younger fan base and created a mass of images/characters for D so that anyone new wouldn’t recognise what we all liked when he first burst on the scene.

Also what about cj’s fans? Are they not interested.

So you do have to ask why? There has to be a reason that nobody seems bothered including BMG with a further hard push.

Am I in the wrong place, or is it just that everyone on Instagram is hocking shit now? There used to be some independent people who were making money, but now absolutely everyone is sponsored by a big company and is shamelessly peddling shit.

Even ones who are being selective, say kidseatincolor, are slipping. Yesterday she was promoting eggs with a sponsored post, and I’m sure she believes eggs are healthy and good but you can tell they’re pushing with some scripted shit they have to say. I’m all about people selling their own products (she had a program she’s developed and sells), but the corporate shill is not my favorite.

I guess I’m not supposed to care and I know I’m always being sold shit, and people definitely need to make money and don’t need to entertain me for free. The one that makes my eyes roll harder is the way the popular grammars all plug each other even when they don’t have anything in common. I think they must all join these copromotion groups or something. Faaaaake.

Hold on, not so fast.

On the surface, the idea is great, but while the hard numbers do support the promise (theory) of reaching a larger audience on the platform, that audience is superfluous. There is no promise that your reach via other users of CoPromote will…
