Episode 04

"Hearts Looking For Love"

It took me a while, but here I am again. I don't have anything new to comment on about the episode, just to say that of all the routes I play, my favorite conversation about romance was the one with Thomas. And by the way, the motorcycle ride came sooner than I expected. But that's not a complaint.

Like everyone else, I think, I was a bit disappointed with Jason's route in this episode. I mean, it was cool to hear the things he mentioned about relationships, about, for some mysterious reason, not being able to date someone seriously and all that. It left me curious, and I'm eager to find out the reason behind it. But that said, the picture moment was kind of... Meh. So, I decided to edit Amanda's picture, just like @kaumalade and @candysweetposts did. The context is completely different for my girl who, for now, is facing a mental battle to decide if she will open up to love again or not.

And about Roy, I don't have much more to say than what I said in my last post. Just one consideration: Have you noticed that in all his pictures so far, New Candy always has her mouth open?

Anyway, here are my headcanons for the episode:

Olivia, who is a sensitive person, was very shaken by all the recent events. From the kiss on the cheek she received from Roy during the game of truth or dare to the extremely cold breakup between Brune and Roy. She feels a bit guilty for being so relieved at how things ended. But overall, she tries not to think about it too much. It might be early, but she never denied that Roy affected her. She never had a serious relationship, and he seems different from the guys she has known.

There are no significant changes from the episode to how I imagine my headcanon of Colette. The only thing I altered is that since she and Thomas have been close acquaintances for some time, this wasn't the first time she rode on the back of his motorcycle. The conversation resonates with the same beats because it's very much in their nature, as Colette has a platonic crush but doesn't want to say anything too directly about it because she's afraid of his reaction. Still, it was a pleasure to know what he thinks about the subject. And since it was Thomas himself who brought up the topic, she couldn't help but feel a bit hopeful that things might develop in the future. She has had flings in the past, but they were never relationships that lasted long.

With Meredith, things happen quite differently. At Goldreamz, some employees started drooling over Jason's Instagram photos, which, by the way, Meredith herself manages and maintains. She overheard their passionate and platonic conversation and called them out to get back to work and stop gossiping. However, the conversation stayed on her mind for the rest of the day. As I mentioned before, the whole thing with Ioan happened to her, even though it was four years ago. She's in a tight spot. She doesn't want to make the same mistakes, and her heart is still hurting. The mourning period is always different for everyone. And her situation with Jason is complicated. He always teases her, she doesn’t hide that she likes it sometimes, though she’ll never admit it. But being his assistant, she knows the ins and outs of his life and understands it would be a real soap opera if she started to seriously invest in it. At night, leaving work, she takes a taxi home and, scrolling through her problematic boss's Instagram profile, admiring some photos, she reflects on the whole situation. An insecure expression. She is afraid of how things will unfold in the future.

ofc!!!! I haven’t thought about the extensive lore that much, but I do have basic ideas and fun facts for some of my ocs:3

starting with Vic, they’re actually intersex + gender queer! I still need to work out basic lore for them, but my general idea was maybe something adjacent to Mizuki from Project Sekai? I dunno. Haven’t thought about it much. Another fun fact: “Vic” is just a nickname! They never specify if it’s short for victor or victoria.

second is molly! she’s probably my favorite design out of all them. Basic lore: MAAAJJJOOR daddy issues, essentially she’s a glass child, with the golden child in her family being her sister. Her father is an only father. She likes photography, specifically of flowers and nature and such. Pretty popular at her school, and she’s one of the mean girls, I guess (as I’ve mentioned in a previous post)

now for Andy, I haven’t actually thought of any backstory at all for him yet. I have been thinking of his jobs, sexuality, etc etc. First off, I’ve been thinking his job is something of a curator, or maybe he’s a dapper-dressed roadie? I don’t know. He’s the only one in the group that is an adult and can (legally) drive. I thought of a joke regarding Andy having a boyfriend and having be another queer couple that kissed on new years and had the conservative side of the internet in an uproar, but I decided make him single, but still queer :3

lastly, Colette! She is an aspiring fashion designer, and she values the more impractical and elaborate side of fashion. No lore for her yet. Can you tell I only thought of Molly’s backstory lol? Anyways, fun fact about Colette: Colette Dubois is just a persona, and it isn’t her actual name. She’s in her chuunibyou phase.

Episode 03

"The Traditional Welcome"

Ah, the controversial (for some) and at the same time wonderful episode 3 of New Gen. What I can say for sure is that I liked everything in general. Relaxed atmosphere, good images, good scenes. The episode flew by for me, I couldn't believe it when it ended. And now we have to wait another month to see how the story unfolds…

I won't mention much here about the "Roy case", as I believe I have already said everything I think about this subject. But compared to Thomas, Devon, Jason and Amanda (the latter not so much, since, unfortunately, I can't get along with her), everything seemed adorable and charming. And, in Jason's case, intense and fun.

As the images of my two passions from Devenementiel are in different places, I needed to adapt the party location. So, the Welcome Happy Hour takes place, in its first half, in the park, with everyone together, and they end the night at Olivia's house, which is cozier, but unfortunately, not everyone was able to stay until the end. Colette was driven home by Thomas on his motorbike. I don't know if the game intends to do this at some point, but I decided to move things forward. She is the one who ends up wearing the helmet, so that the daisy crown doesn't fall apart on Thomas' head.

(In fact, here's my indignation that they didn't make a sprite of Thomas with a flower crown on his head. It's not like it would be difficult to add a small accessory to an already finished model. It would have been beautiful!)

In parallel, simply, Meredith and Jason are toasting success because of another contract done very well. I'm taking my steps to develop the scene better from the point of view of my headcanon. I promise not to leave you in the dark.

Not to forget, some pieces of clothing I wore were found on the Drive that @candysweetposts posted. Once again I reiterate: you are strong!

Dear diary,

I am worried about Colette. I fear I don’t understand that child.

When she is around me, she is sweet as can be– so well mannered and even-tempered! But from the other children, I hear something very different. Charlotte and Colette have never gotten along, but it seems to have gotten worse as they’ve gotten older. In that, I suspect Charlotte is the instigator... she is always stirring up attention for herself.

But the other day, Charlotte told me she saw Louis Jr. and Colette in a fight! A true brawl! I couldn’t believe it– I almost didn’t believe it, if not for the small purple mark on Louis Jr.’s cheek that evening when the children came inside.

I still don’t know who started it. I truly hope it wasn’t my sweet Colette! Louis Jr. has always had a kind soul as well..... Oh goodness, I’m at my wits end with these children. Louis has been gone on a hunting trip for weeks now, and I am struggling to keep them all under control.

4. A character you rarely talk about?

In general, I think I talk about characters from Untitled less than characters from Blue Below the Surface, but especially Colette. She's only there for the first chapter and doesn't appear again until book 2, but boy, does she get through some shit.

Her boyfriend gets kidnapped, his sister doesn't even let her elaborate her emotions before she says "gonna search for Cisco, brb", then proceeds to disappear for weeks XD. So, while Sheryl and Moren try to kill each other, Colette is stressing over whether Sheryl and Cisco are ever coming back. When they do, you can bet she'll 1) kiss Cisco, and 2) scold both of them for an hour minimum. Girl wouldn't hurt a fly, but she's an elementary school teacher, so she knows how to set people straight.

17. Any OC OTPs?

Obviously Sheryl and Moren, duh! Those two are so fun to write (and to read when I'm editing)! Their voices and banter come so naturally and are a joy to write, all with Sheryl's sarcastic comments and Moren just ~vibing~ like he's on a school trip.

And this is technically a spoiler for Blue Below the Surface, so skip if you want the thrill of mystery (lol), but...

Andrew and Lily. They're the only ship of the old version I've kept for a reason. Since they both avoid expressing their feelings, they may seem a badly assorted couple, but with an effort of communication they could actually work. Their relationship would be a safe space, where their silence is respected and understood, but they would also challenge each other's bad habits.

This list is somewhat incomplete, since I haven't had the chance to write every single ship (for example, SPOILERS AHEAD Evelyn's love interest only shows up in book 3, and book 2 is when Jeremy + Annabelle evolves into Jeremy + Annabelle + Cecilia ;)). So, my opinions might change when I reach those plot points.

24. If you could meet one OC of yours, who would it be and why?

Honestly, I wouldn't want to meet my OCs? After all, I've created them, so it's not like I need to get to know them better. In general, I make characters because I enjoy exploring their psyche, not because I'd want to hang out with them.

That being said, I'd definitely want to be the one going to their world. Living as a waterbender inside a utopia? Sign me up.
