Opening Line Patterns
Tagged by @kageyuuki
Rules: List the first line of your last 10 (or however many you have) posted fics and see if there's a pattern!
-I'm awake! I'm awake.
Let's see what sort of pattern I have for starting my fics...
Archetype 101
Raz groaned as he leaned his head against the dorm room door.
A Gut Feeling
Dion, once again, couldn’t sleep that night.
Catching Cobblewhomps with Milk Tea
(Main Story Proper)
Lucrecia carefully poured the water into a medium pot, filling it halfway before placing a lid on it.
(Story with the Story)
Once upon a time, there was an innkeeper in a sleepy old town by the name of Mrs. Lavender.
Setting the Record (I should get back to that fic)
Lucrecia looked around the big, airy atrium of the Motherlobe, the new headquarters for the Psychonauts since she was gone.
Eggs on their Faces
Speed watched the road as he drove the Mach 5 through the city.
Empire State of Mind (I should get back to this one, too)
The sound of crickets chirped through the night.
I'm gonna cheat for this next bit and grab from WIPs:
Working Title: Nono
"...What on Earth is that?" Ford said as he and Compton took a look at the flatiron-looking gadget on Otto Mentallis's desk.
Deer in the Headlights
“Mr. Ferno didn’t!”
Wow, I thought I had more opening lines
Conclusions:
Aside from "I need to work on these more often?" and "I have too many WIPs?" Most of my earlier fics started with a character, while later ones experimented a lot more.
I also noticed the first thing I tend to write in a fic is not the opening lines, but the first bit of dialogue that comes to mind.
Tag time! I don't know a lot of writers who haven't already been tagged, but I'm tagging @boom-fanfic-a-latta and @ahimaysokamu! Might also poke some Discord mutuals later on.
Hope you enjoyed!

Kendrick Lamar - A hip-hop Genius
Bitch don’t kill my vibe. I’m sure many of you recognize this line from the famous rapper Kendrick Lamar. That was the first song I heard from him, and got more into him as I heard more and more. Although I have listened to a considerable amount of his songs, I have never really looked at the deeper meanings behind his work (I know. It's a crime). I’ve always known that his songs usually have complex themes but I have never actually figured out the whole story. In fact, I don’t really know much about Kendrick besides that he makes good music and is considered one of the greatest rappers of his generation (so seriously: I know nothing). This post will hopefully figure out what exactly helped him gain such a title.
Tumblr media
Background
In Compton, on June 17th, 1987, Kendrick Lamar Duckworth (like the song? :O) was born and became one of the most influential rappers of the 21st century. Compton was an area that was plagued by violence and poverty. According to Britannica, Kendrick grew up in a high-crime area of Compton and began writing rhymes as a teenager relating to this. In 2003 he released his first mixtape called Youngest Head Nigga in Charge, which impressed a record label known as Top Dawg. I tried to look for this mixtape but surprisingly it was not online. Although the mixtape is hard to find, Kendrick explained in an interview with HipHopDX that the record label told Kendrick he “sounds just like he’s Jay-Z.” Also, a lot of people in his life and at school were talking about him made him, which made him realize the influence that he has.
Kendrick: “Damn, my shit is really making an impact on the city and go full force with this shit.”
Discovering the influence music brings as well as his upbringing in Compton, Kendrick Lamar had found something to shape his music and storytelling around.
Rise to Fame - Section.80
youtube
In 2011, Kendrick dropped his first album: Section.80, a 14-track tape that received a high amount of praise. Through this album, Kendrick uses his storytelling abilities to address complex social issues. Medium described the album as “a meditation and analysis on the vices and pitfalls that follow his generation, all while painting a loosely-tied narrative about two women, Keisha and Tammy.”
According to Genius, the reason for the name of the album is that in 1982, Ronald Reagan cut funding to the Section 8 program in half. This means that he believed social programs were not necessary and his campaign increased the divide between the rich and poor in America. I have learned about Reagan in history class and his Cold War policies, but I never thought about the effect it had on the poor. I even loved the song Ronald Reagan Era, but hearing the context makes the song hit harder.
Tumblr media
The first song on the album is literally called “fuck your ethnicity.” This is one of my favorite songs on the album because not only is the instrumental a bop, but his message is very empowering. Kendrick is trying to express how race is leading to more division between people and he welcomes anyone who can understand his story. He also introduces two characters: Keisha and Tammy to explore two different stories of people who grew up in Compton. The characters are explored on their own in other songs. For example, Keisha’s Song (Her Pain) talks about how prostitutes get treated badly by their boyfriends. The women are vulnerable, and it's a challenge to keep fighting.
The album as a whole reflects on issues like the crack epidemic, gang violence, and the effects of Ronald Reagan's policies on the African-American community. Kendrick was able to incorporate musical abilities, such as rhyme patterns and unique instrumentals, with narrative abilities to produce a compelling first album, but this was just the first album. I feel that although Kendrick nailed the narrative component, all of his songs were not musically interesting. He had his high moments, with killer songs like HiiiPower and Rigamortis, but there is room for improvement in terms of making it sound good. And he improves just that through his second album: good kid, m.A.A.d city.
A Turning Point -  Good Kid, M.A.A.D City
youtube
As mentioned previously, the first Kendrick song that I heard was Bitch, Don’t Kill My Vibe. This song came from his second album, good kid, m.A.A.d city (gkmc), which was released in 2012. After this album was released, Kendrick exploded in popularity. It “debuted at number 2 on the Billboard 200 chart” and Kendrick was even nominated for seven 2013 Grammy Awards, including Best Album and Best New Artist. Although he didn’t win (which I think showed how stupid the Grammys are imo),  Kendrick continued to gain millions of fans and supporters, even making major TV appearances such as performing on SNL. His fan base grew as well, with not only hip-hop fans, but more college students and alternative rock fans. (I have no idea where alternative rock fans came from but thanks biography.com.)
Like Section.80, this album continues the narrative approach except in a more autobiographical sense. The album paints a vivid picture of Kendrick's personal teenage experiences in Compton. The title itself explains how he is just a good kid in a crazy city. Interestingly,  according to Spin, "M.A.A.D" stands for both "My Angry Adolescence Divided" and "My Angels on Angel Dust," indicating the juxtaposition between his desire to maintain innocence and the chaos of his environment. Along with his complex themes, he also upgrades the musicality and there are a lot of musically pleasing songs on this album.
A song on this album that encapsulates the artistic genius of Kendrick is Swimming Pools. Without looking deeply, this song sounds like a song you would drink and vibe to (which is what I always thought), but looking at the lyrics there is so much more deep stuff going on.  Kendrick talks about how peer pressure affects alcoholism. The irony is that although this song sounds like a club song, it talks about the negative effects of alcoholism and how much it is normalized in Kendrick's environment. Tying a metaphor between a swimming pool and alcoholism shows how easy to drown in either. Even towards the end of the song, he builds on the overarching story by talking about how K. Dot’s (a character of this album) actions led to his brother being killed.
Listening to the whole album was such an experience. As Pitchfork put it, “It feels like walking directly into Lamar's childhood home and, for the next hour, growing up alongside him.”  Kendrick discusses his struggles with the effects of gang violence, drugs, and poverty in his community. I wanted to discuss certain songs that I really enjoyed, but honestly, Kendrick did such a good job with the consistency. I was going through my playlist to see which songs I liked and I realized I have most of the songs except the first song and the last two songs (Real and Compton). Maybe I’ll convert and like these as well one day. The music and lyrics speak for themselves, and the entire album does a great job of keeping a narrative theme as well as maintaining this sort of serious yet chill vibe throughout.
A Masterpiece - To Pimp a Butterfly
youtube
Just when you think an album can’t get any better, Kendrick Lamar releases To Pimp A Butterfly (tpab) in 2015. Kendrick continues to keep the narrative theme and explores society as well as self-worth. This time, however, there are even more unique musical factors such as jazz, funk, and spoken word poetry. According to Britannica,  the album broke a Spotify record because it was streamed more than 9.6 million times within a week of its release. President Barack Obama even declared a song on this album his favorite song of 2015. He also finally won the Grammys (I still don’t like them) with best rap performance and best rap song (both for “Alright”), best rap/sung collaboration (for “These Walls”), best music video (for “Bad Blood”), and best rap album (for To Pimp a Butterfly).
Considering how successful this album was, what made it so good? The diversity. Like good kid, m.A.A.d city, and Section.80, tpab follows the typical narrative story that Kendrick had previously portrayed; however, this album has a lot more variety of characters and includes a lot more themes that relate to society as a whole. There is also a lot more variety in terms of genres. Although this is a rap album, there is half a jazz band present at all times, a pianist, a sax player, slam poetry, and sound effects (according to Pitchfork).
“ALLS MY LIFE, I HAVE TO FIGHT.”  Alright is a song on tpab that showcases the jazz aspect of the album. The music is so catchy and just makes you want to shout the whole song. Although this song is very short, Kendrick shows how he is going to escape his troubles. It’s a simple idea: “we gon’ be alright.” Under the surface, however,  this song creates awareness of police brutality. In fact, in 2015, the Black Lives Matter movement used the phrase  “we gon’ be alright” to protest against police brutality.
Throughout this album, Kendrick delved into the depths of black identity and societal struggles, painting a picture of personal conflict within racial injustice. Although I love this album, unlike gkmc, I only really liked a half of the songs on this album. But when I did like it, I REALLY liked it. I appreciate the experimentation and am happy on how this album turned out. Alright is probably one of my favorite songs, but I also really love King Kunta, The Blacker the Berry, These Walls, i, and How Much a Dollar Cost.
Continuing the legend - DAMN.
youtube
Continuing his streak of groundbreaking albums, DAMN. was released in 2017. This album earned Kendrick his first Billboard No. 1 single with HUMBLE. and won the Pulitzer Prize for Music, which made him the first rapper to receive this honor. According to Britannica, HUMBLE. won Grammys for Best Rap Album, Best Rap Song, Rap Performance, and Music Video. That is a lot of categories! This man is just collecting everything (and rightfully so).
Tumblr media
In DAMN. Kendrick used a raw, more direct narrative. This album is a lot more broad and explores the themes of fate, spirituality, and the complexities of the human condition. And although the album sounds simple, there was a lot of conspiracy that followed the release of this album. According to Medium, Kendrick confirmed a theory that the album could be played in reverse, telling two different stories: weakness and wickedness.
In a more broad sense, This album had a lot of hits like DNA. and HUMBLE. Honestly, comparing this album to the others, this album is not one of my favorites. I liked a few of the songs but in terms of diversity, I felt that it was lacking. This is more of a contemporary and mainstream rap album, which is fine. I like the idea of how the album tells two stories. I feel like listening to it backward was interesting, especially considering how the first song was DUCKWORTH. (one of my favorites from the album). Hearing the little reversed part from DUCKWORTH reversed back blew my mind. According to Genius, that audio symbolized “a flashback or a wormhole representing Kendrick’s life”. Kendrick was able to use his outro to portray such a unique idea.
Expanding outside of Albums - Afterwards
Throughout the releases of these albums, Kendrick has been featured in many great songs. For example, family ties, made me find out that Baby Keem and Kendrick Lamar are blood relatives (they definitely act like it). In 2018, Lamar produced an album that was from and inspired by the famous movie Black Panther. Think about that: he made music for a famous Marvel movie.
Tumblr media
He also again won a Grammy for best rap performance. In 2022, Kendrick Lamar performed at the Super Bowl halftime with the infamous Snoop Dogg, Dr. Dre, Mary J. Blige, and other hip-hop stars. In the same year, he released his fifth studio album, Mr. Morale & the Big Steppers. It won Grammys and produced some banger songs like N95.
Tumblr media
The Influence
Kendrick Lamar is not just a rapper; he's a storyteller, a social commentator, and a visionary artist. Watching his journey, either through directly listening to his albums, or watching how much he has grown as a musician, is definitely an experience. Fans are invited to be a part of his lifetime from the streets of Compton to his present global success as an artist. That is what is so amazing about him, Kendrick Lamar started off great and just kept on getting better. It’s no wonder that he is called one of the most influential rappers of his generation.
Not only is his music in a league of its own, but Kendrick was able to use his fame in the hip-hop world to make an impact on American culture through his insight into Black culture and the flaws of modern society as a whole. What I really enjoy about Kendrick is that he creates a space that allows everyone to listen to music. As a casual listener myself, his songs sound good and are so unique. He also manages to not sound too preachy throughout the whole process, which is pretty impressive. Kendrick Lamar does the inconceivable and can successfully tell a compelling story while also making banger music.

People, and by people I mostly mean pop-science, often explain quantum mechanics in a really weird way. Because while a lot of the stuff that's normally said about it is technically true, it's phrased in such a weird way that it leaves people with this sort of pseudo-mystical vibes-based feeling of how it works, when literally just choosing a different phrasing would make what you're trying to convey so much more clear. Like the whole "it's a particle and a wave" thing. If you just explained "particles and waves are old ways of describing these things, and while they can exhibit behaviors of both, they really are neither. Everything is made of quantum fields, and particles are little ripples in quantum fields that propagate through space like waves, and when they overlap with, say a cloud of atoms, they will deposit their energy into one of them, with the likelihood that it will deposit it's energy into a given atom corresponding to where it sits inside the wave-pattern.
This, coupled with the fact that they have extra degrees of freedom a wave wouldn't have, means they aren't waves in a traditional sense, which would deposit their energy uniformly. These things are discrete, they aren't smooth distributions of energy, they're very precise levels of energy that can only be absorbed and emitted in specific values. So an object has to absorb *all* their energy*@*, and which object absorbs it depends on where it sits in a probability distribution. It can't be spread out among a cloud of objects, and so it deceptively *appears* to localize into one spot.
I think a lot of the confusion comes from the assumption that there is a little ball of energy that is moving about randomly, and the probability density part is just describing what the likelihood of it taking a certain path is. That's not really what it is though, the "little ball of energy" isn't really there, because in the absence of an object to absorb the energy of the photon, it propagates through space in a wave-like way, never appearing in one place inside the wave-pattern, because the wave-pattern is the photon. The probability distribution doesn't describe where the photon is, it describes what object it will deposit it's energy into."
I know describing it in this way has little functional difference from the particle-and-wave thing, and a real physicist would probably be pulling their hair out reading this, but I love to ramble about things, even if I have no idea what I'm talking about *@*I know there are sort-of-exceptions to this, such as compton scattering, but that has to do with some extra weird shit to do with momentum and such, and the process of absorption remains the same.

Professional Services Of Roof Cleaning In Bournemouth At Great Value
In the lively city of Bournemouth, where coastal elements and varied weather patterns reign, placing emphasis on roof cleaning is crucial for homeowners aiming to maintain the integrity and appearance of their properties. The phrase “roof cleaning in Bournemouth” encapsulates the importance of tackling the unique environmental hurdles encountered in this coastal area. Beyond surface-level concerns, roof cleaning serves as a proactive step to reinforce structural durability, prolong lifespan, and boost the overall health of homes.
Bournemouth’s coastal climate fosters the growth of moss, algae, and other organic debris on roofs, posing potential threats to both appearance and structural soundness. Regular roof cleaning in Bournemouth becomes essential to eliminate these growths, preventing them from causing long-term damage such as water leaks, rot, and deterioration. By promptly addressing these issues, homeowners can sidestep expensive repairs and ensure the longevity of their roofs.
Furthermore, roof cleaning plays a pivotal role in optimizing energy efficiency. A clean roof reflects more sunlight, reducing heat absorption and contributing to better temperature regulation indoors. This not only creates a more comfortable living environment but also translates into potential energy savings by alleviating the strain on heating and cooling systems.
Beyond its functional advantages, professional roof cleaning enhances the visual appeal of homes in Bournemouth. The city’s vibrant atmosphere calls for residences that not only withstand environmental challenges but also stand out for their cleanliness and well-maintained appearance. A clean roof contributes to the curb appeal, reflecting a sense of pride in homeownership and potentially increasing the value of the property.
In summary, roof cleaning in Bournemouth transcends the notion of simple cleanliness; it is a strategic investment in the durability, efficiency, and visual allure of homes in this coastal city. By addressing the unique challenges posed by Bournemouth’s climate, homeowners can ensure that their roofs remain resilient, functional, and visually appealing for years to come.
How Often Should You Get Your Roof Cleaned In Bournemouth?
Consistent roof cleaning is an essential component of home upkeep, safeguarding both the visual charm and structural soundness of your property. The optimal frequency for roof cleaning is contingent on factors like climate, proximity to trees, and the roofing material employed. As a general guideline, experts advise performing roof cleaning at least once a year to thwart the build-up of debris, mold, and algae.
Regularly cleaning your roof serves as a key method to prolong its lifespan. As time passes, leaves, branches, and other debris may accumulate on the roof, providing an ideal environment for moss and algae to thrive. These organisms can trap moisture and contribute to the degradation of roofing materials, which may result in leaks and structural problems. By eliminating this debris and inhibiting the growth of harmful organisms, you can protect your roof from enduring damage and expensive repairs in the long run.
Furthermore, a clean roof enhances the curb appeal of your home. Stains, moss, and algae not only compromise the integrity of your roof but also create an unsightly appearance. Regular cleaning helps maintain the visual appeal of your property, preserving its value and contributing to the overall aesthetic of the neighborhood.
In regions with high humidity, where mold and algae thrive, more frequent roof cleaning may be necessary. Additionally, homes surrounded by trees may require more frequent attention due to the accumulation of leaves and branches.
Overall, the investment in regular roof cleaning pays off in the form of a longer-lasting, visually appealing, and structurally sound roof. By adopting a proactive approach to roof maintenance, homeowners can protect their investment and ensure that their homes remain safe and attractive for years to come.
How Can You Clean My Roof In Bournemouth?
There are several methods for cleaning a roof, each suited to different types of roofing materials and levels of dirt or debris buildup. Here are three common ways to clean a roof:
Pressure Washing: Pressure washing involves using a high-pressure water spray to remove dirt, debris, moss, algae, and other contaminants from the roof surface. It’s important to adjust the pressure to a level that won’t damage the roofing material. Pressure washing can be effective for metal, tile, and asphalt shingle roofs, but it should be done carefully to avoid dislodging shingles or causing water intrusion.
Chemical Cleaning: Chemical cleaning involves applying specialized cleaning solutions or biocides to the roof to break down and remove algae, moss, and other organic growth. These chemicals are typically allowed to sit for a certain period to loosen the contaminants before being rinsed off with water. Chemical cleaning can be suitable for asphalt shingle and tile roofs, but it’s important to use environmentally-friendly products and follow proper application guidelines to prevent damage to the roofing material and surrounding vegetation.
Manual Cleaning: For delicate roofing materials or roofs with a low slope, manual cleaning is a safer option. This method involves physically removing debris, leaves, moss, and algae using gentle tools such as soft brushes, brooms, and plastic scrapers. It’s a more time-consuming method, but it allows for greater control over the cleaning process and minimizes the risk of damaging the roofing material.
Remember that before attempting any roof cleaning method, it’s important to prioritize safety. Working on a roof can be dangerous, especially if you’re not experienced with such tasks. If you’re not comfortable or confident in your ability to clean the roof yourself, it’s a good idea to hire a professional roof cleaning service. They will have the expertise, proper equipment, and safety measures in place to clean your roof effectively without causing damage.

THE IMPORTANCE OF ROOF CLEANING IN BOURNEMOUTH
When it comes to upkeeping your Bournemouth residence, a often overlooked yet vital task is roof cleaning. The environmental elements and coastal climate in Bournemouth elevate routine roof cleaning from a mere aesthetic concern to a practical necessity. This article will delve into the key reasons why giving priority to roof cleaning in Bournemouth is crucial for protecting your investment and ensuring the long-term resilience of your roof.
Preserve Curb Appeal: Roof cleaning is crucial for maintaining your home’s visual appeal. Algae, moss, and lichen can accumulate over time, giving your roof a dirty and unattractive appearance. Professional roof cleaning services can remove these unsightly growths, leaving your roof looking clean and well-maintained.
Prevent Damage: The coastal climate in Bournemouth, characterised by high humidity and occasional heavy rainfall, creates the perfect environment for moss and algae growth. These organisms can infiltrate your roofing materials, causing them to deteriorate over time. Roof cleaning helps prevent such damage, saving you from costly repairs or premature roof replacement.
Extend Roof Lifespan: Regular roof cleaning can significantly extend the lifespan of your roof. The accumulation of dirt, debris, and organic growth can weaken roofing materials, making them more susceptible to damage from moisture and UV radiation. By removing these contaminants, you can protect your roof’s structural integrity and ensure it lasts for many years.
Energy Efficiency: A dirty roof can affect the energy efficiency of your home. When algae and moss build up, they trap heat and moisture, which can lead to increased indoor temperatures during the summer and decreased energy efficiency. A clean roof, on the other hand, reflects heat more effectively, helping to regulate indoor temperatures and reduce cooling costs.
Health and Safety: Moss and algae growth on your roof can pose health and safety risks. They can create slippery surfaces, making it hazardous for anyone attempting to access the roof for maintenance. Regular roof cleaning eliminates these safety concerns, making it safer for both you and any maintenance professionals working on your roof.
Compliance with Home Insurance: Some home insurance policies may require you to maintain your roof to specific standards. Neglecting roof cleaning could result in a breach of your insurance agreement, potentially jeopardising coverage in case of damage or leaks. Keeping your roof clean helps you stay compliant with your policy.

HOW MUCH DOES IT COST TO GET SERVICES OF ROOF CLEANING IN BOURNEMOUTH?
The pricing for roof cleaning in Bournemouth, UK, is determined by various factors that take into account the distinctive features of the coastal surroundings and the specific needs of individual properties. Individuals contemplating the use of professional roof cleaning services in Bournemouth should familiarize themselves with the factors that impact the overall cost. This awareness will enable homeowners to make well-informed decisions regarding their investment in roof maintenance.
The size and complexity of the roof are primary factors influencing the cost of cleaning. Larger roofs naturally require more time, resources, and labor for a thorough cleaning process. Additionally, the architectural intricacies of the roof, such as steep pitches or complex designs, can impact the overall cost, as they may necessitate additional safety measures and specialized equipment during the cleaning process.
Bournemouth’s coastal location introduces specific challenges, including exposure to salt air and persistent moisture, which can accelerate the growth of moss and algae on roofs. This unique environmental aspect may influence the overall cost of roof cleaning, as specialized methods and treatments might be required to address these coastal-specific challenges effectively.
The extent of contamination on the roof is another crucial factor. Heavily contaminated roofs with moss, algae, or debris may demand more intensive cleaning methods, such as pressure washing or chemical treatments, affecting the overall cost of the service. The duration and complexity of the cleaning process depend on the severity of the contamination, and professional services in Bournemouth will consider these factors when providing estimates.
The type of roofing material also plays a significant role in determining the cost. Different materials, such as tiles, asphalt shingles, or metal, may require specific cleaning methods or treatments, impacting the overall cost of the service. Additionally, the age and condition of the roof influence the approach taken, with older roofs potentially requiring more delicate handling to prevent damage during the cleaning process.
While the initial cost of professional roof cleaning in Bournemouth may vary based on these factors, it is essential to view it as a worthwhile investment in the long-term health and aesthetics of your property. Regular roof maintenance can prevent potential structural damage, extend the lifespan of the roof, and enhance the curb appeal of your home.
For accurate pricing tailored to the specific needs of your property in Bournemouth, it is recommended to consult with reputable roof cleaning professionals. A thorough assessment of your roof’s characteristics and consideration of local environmental challenges will enable them to provide a detailed estimate, ensuring that your investment aligns with the unique requirements of your home in Bournemouth.

Beyond Shingles: Exploring Cutting-edge Materials In Roofing Replacement
Tumblr media
Roof products have developed considerably past standard shingles, with ingenious choices now giving boosted performance and visual appeal. This growth is attributable to improvements in innovation and a growing awareness of environmental considerations in building and construction.
Steel roofing, when delegated to industrial structures, has actually currently discovered its way into domestic homes, showing off sturdiness and energy performance. Likewise, environment-friendly roofing systems and solar roofing options are getting popularity as they provide an amalgamation of financial benefits and ecological responsibility.
In the mission for lasting living spaces that harmonize with their setting while supplying premium performance characteristics, homeowners are a lot more inclined in the direction of these new-age roof covering options. The expedition of metal roofs along with eco-friendly and solar roof covering remedies discovers a selection of benefits ranging from longevity to energy preservation.
It is therefore vital for individuals seeking roof substitutes or new installations to be familiar with these progressive choices offered in the marketplace today. By going with such ingenious products, one not just straightens themselves with present patterns yet also contributes favorably towards developing a lasting future.
Diving right into the Globe of Steel Roof Covering
Looking into the world of steel roof introduces an ocean of options that, in a hyperbolic sense, might apparently measure up to the number of stars in the galaxy in terms of variety and customizability.
Steel roofing systems are not just durable and resilient however also supply an aesthetic charm unrivaled by typical shingles. Their durability can be attributed to their resistance against components such as wind, rainfall, snow, and fire. Furthermore, they are green as they comprise mostly recycled material and reflect solar induction heat which helps in reducing cooling expenses during summertime.
The globe of steel roof covering is split into a number of types - copper, light weight aluminum, zinc, stainless steel to name a few. Each kind uses distinct advantages over the other varying from corrosion resistance to sturdiness under serious climate condition.
For instance, copper roofings provide an unique visual appeal with their attractive green patina in time; nonetheless, they may not stand up well versus hailstorm or heavy winds unlike steel or aluminum equivalents. Similarly, while stainless-steel roofs provide outstanding strength and toughness under severe weather conditions; they are usually much more pricey than say light weight aluminum or zinc roofs which are lighter on pocket yet reputable for longevity purposes.
Thus making an enlightened selection concerning the ideal type of metal roof calls for a deep understanding concerning these materials together with individual demands and budget plan considerations.
Revealing the Benefits of Eco-friendly and Solar Roofing Solutions
Harnessing the power of lasting power, eco-friendly and solar roof covering remedies present a wide range of advantages ranging from decreasing carbon footprint to considerable power savings. As culture pivots towards eco-conscious options in all aspects of life, these alternative roofing products are rising to importance. The fostering of environment-friendly and solar roofs is not merely a pattern; it's driven by the understanding that typical roof shingles, while practical, might not be one of the most eco-friendly or financially sound choice for long-term usage.
Reduction in Power Use: With environment-friendly roofs including living plants that supply natural insulation and solar panels creating power from sunshine, these remedies considerably minimize dependence on exterior source of power resulting in substantial power cost savings.
Environmental Impact: Both types of roofings add positively to the environment by lowering greenhouse gas emissions. Green roofings absorb carbon dioxide while solar panels create clean energy.
Economic Perks: Over time, minimized energy costs and possible earnings from feeding excess electricity back into the grid suggest these roof covering choices can show financially helpful.
Aesthetic Allure & Area Involvement: In addition to their useful advantages, environment-friendly and solar roof coverings likewise improve aesthetic charm and advertise neighborhood involvement via rooftop gardens or shared renewable energies.
In recap, it is evident that shifting far from conventional tile roof covering in the direction of ingenious environment-friendly and solar solutions brings an array of benefits-- environmental management through reduced exhausts; financial gain by means of long-lasting expense decrease; enhanced looks which promote a sense of cumulative pride within neighborhoods; along with advertising sustainability worths which reverberate deeply with those seeking to belong in a diligent society concentrated on protecting our world for future generations.

Snapback Hat Designs That People Just Loved
Snapback hats have cemented their status as timeless and iconic accessories in the world of streetwear fashion. These versatile caps, characterized by their adjustable snap closure and flat brim, have witnessed an evolution of designs that reflect the rich tapestry of urban culture and creativity. It’s amazing to see how blank snapback hats transform into something remarkable, with just a design on the crown. In this article, we'll explore some of the most memorable and iconic snapback hat designs that have left an indelible mark on the streetwear scene.
Sports Team Logos
Perhaps the most ubiquitous snapback hat designs feature the logos of professional sports teams. Whether it's the classic green and yellow of the Boston Celtics, the LA Dodgers' interlocking "LA," or the Chicago Bulls' unmistakable bull insignia, these hats allow fans to proudly represent their favorite teams. The symbiotic relationship between sports and streetwear has made these snapbacks a staple for fans and fashion enthusiasts alike.
Classic Brand Logos
Streetwear enthusiasts are no strangers to the allure of classic brand logos emblazoned on snapback hats. Brands like Nike, Adidas, and New Era have created timeless designs that meld sportswear with street style. The popular  swoosh of Nike, the trefoil of Adidas, and the instantly recognizable New Era flag are just a few examples of snapback hats that bear the mark of these legendary brands.
Hip-Hop Affiliations
Hip-hop culture and streetwear have long been intertwined, and snapback hats have been a canvas for artists to express their affiliations and creativity. Snapbacks adorned with logos like the Wu-Tang Clan's "W," Tupac's "Thug Life," or N.W.A's "Straight Outta Compton" have become iconic symbols of the hip-hop movement. Brands like Obey, Stussy, and HUF have produced snapbacks that are as much about the visuals as they are about the fit.
Minimalist Monochrome
In the world of streetwear, less can often mean more. Minimalist snapback hat designs that feature a single-color crown and brim with subtle branding have become immensely popular. These hats effortlessly elevate any outfit and are favored by those who prefer a clean and understated look. This makes it easy for retailers who just have to get two-tone blank hats and brand them just a little.
Whether adorned with sports team logos, classic brand insignias, or artistic designs, snapbacks have played a significant role in shaping the streetwear landscape. These iconic designs serve as a visual history of urban culture and creativity, reflecting the diverse influences and artistic expressions that define the world of streetwear fashion.

Blog Summary
In my blog posts, I spoke about the differences in racial discrimination and intergration throughout different time periods. First was Black Sails, a show set in the golden age of piracy, followed by Straight Outta Compton, set in the 80's in Los Angeles, and lastly the Pew Research report of what it means to be Asian in America today. What surprised me the most was how socio-economic patterns in the past allowed for people of all different races to combine onto one crew, treated equal under the banner of piracy. Later on as other ethnic and racial minorities began improving generation by generation, many communities faced persecution in the form of police brutality and redlining in the housing market. This rise caused many African Americans to be marginalized, causing the civil rights movement. While doing my research, I realized that the reason for my parents and grandparents immigrating here so easily was due to the bills passed in the late 60's, a direct result of the civil rights movement, further using the affluent Asian American community to finger point and ridicule the black community. So in a way, all immigrants of Asian descent owe it to the black community here. Many of these pieces reinforced my thoughts and opinions of how race is such a silly yet critical part of American society, as well as a designed failure for non-whites in this country. Yes, with hard work we can all make it to the top of the food chain, but for certain communities more than others, that journey is designed to be much tougher than it needs to be.

Shut the EVERLOVING fuck up.
I want you to name one time a major pop star as big as Drake was accused of grooming and/or sexual assault/abuse and it immediately ended with the end of their career. Sorry I won’t give you time to think because it NEVER HAPPENS.
Drakes behavior towards minors is long documented, and yet he’s still been allowed to exist in peace. The Millie Bobby Brown shit was like half a fucking decade ago and only NOW do people care about that. You think Kendrick was the first to question their weird relationship when she was fucking 14? No there were articles and yt videos and tik toks about it. But then a pandemic and chaotic election cycle later, no one cared to actually hold him accountable.
If Kendrick said something then, no one would care. If he said something back before he had a career when Drake pulled a 17 year old on stage, no one would have cared because who was Kendrick? If he said it a year ago out of nowhere, people would demand evidence and shit and Kendrick is a man calling out a pattern of behavior, not a fucking detective. What sense would it have made to come forward against a powerful and wealthy man about doing something he has no proof of, no way to investigate it himself, about girls in general when he likely didn’t have names and dates and shit of exact events? Why should he be expected to risk/kill his career, a poor man who grew up on the streets of Compton mind you, to call out a man who will get away without since Kendrick didn’t have proof?
Idk what magical unicorn and princess world you live in in your head, but in the real world, that’s a good way to get blacklisted in the entertainment world. And what good could Kendrick have done as a hated whistleblower no one took seriously?
This is how I know you’re white (or a suburban raised poc child with two brain cells), because the very nature of a rap beef allows Kendrick to say wild shit about Drake without having to prove it. He can say it and the internet, who never forgets, will break it down. Drakes predatory behavior is well documented, and anyone with a brain can come to the logical conclusions. He’s not exposing Drake: he’s literally just saying what the streets, the culture, is already saying about Drake.
This is what you whites just fail to realize. This isn’t some “spilling the tea” drama: this is a fight for the very culture of hip hop and rap. Everything Kendrick is saying is everything Black people have been saying about Drake but you white fucks don’t care because wow he’s so famous lol and so you protect him. And if you can’t figure out why this situation finally gave Kendrick the chance to make the claims and be taken seriously (instead of brushed off like accusations like this ALWAYS are), then you don’t know shit about hip hop, rap, or Black people. And in that case, maybe you should shut the fuck up about shit you obviously know nothing about.
And you saying these are vague accusations is wild when again Drakes behavior is long documented, but I guess you don’t know nothing bout that.
youtube
I suggest watching this video because THIS is why we’re taking what Kendrick said seriously you brain dead clown.
Not everything needs commentary from the peanut gallery. Thanks.
Okay, I hate to be a party pooper about this but I'm seeing so many posts of people taking the Kendrick-Drake beef very very seriously and basically labelling Kendrick as a Good Samaritan ousting corruption and pedophilia in the rap industry and Drake as the next Harvey Weinstein and that could be all well and true, but I think it's important to mention Kendrick is not really a good guy when it comes to this stuff, he has publicly defended pedophiles like R. Kelly and Michael Jackson (threatening to take all of his music off of spotify if R. Kelly's music is taken down in response to the Mute R.Kelly movement) and on his latest album roughly a year or 2 ago he collaborated very closely on multiple tracks with known convicted rapist Kodak Black only a year after his trial while he was still serving probation.
And if Kendrick somehow changed over the last year and decided suddenly to become an advocate for rape victims, why would he only decide to reveal that information midway through a rap beef with Drake? Why allude to it on a song rather than call attention to it properly and directly? Why engage in a friendly competition and only bring this information out once things got serious?
I'm not defending Drake, he's still also a bad person who has defended abusers like Tory Lanez, I just think taking these accusations seriously based solely on the vague lyrics of a guy known to not really give a shit about this sort of thing and who just wants to get under Drake's skin is naive.

PKMN Black 2: PSYCHONAUTS EDITION
Hoooo so hey remember when I first put out the sketches for Emboar!Helmut and Levanny!Bob?
Yeah I finished the rest of the team! I also had the idea to like little “Trainer Journal” entries so those will be down below.
First up! The first two members of the team: Helmut and Bob!
Tumblr media
These two are def one heck of a duo. Emboars are already hard hitters but Bob was also one of the powerhouses on the team. I also just... I like fire as an emotion signaler? So Helmut get flamin brows and colourful fire! Bob took a couple tries to get right but I’m real happy with how he came out.
Next is Cassie and Compton
Tumblr media
Cassie being an Excadrill is more circumstance. I told my friend that I’d be finally playing through all of Black 2, and he asked if he could suggest a mon. He suggested Excadrill, and I found a female one, and thus, she’s now Cassie.
And boi Excadrills really are terrifying. So she ended up being Powerhouse #3. Now Compton! Tiny tiny fluffy boi. Compton was never going to be a part of my battle team, but it felt wrong to leave one out. So Compton became the Minccino you get from the first Hidden Grotto. If we were in Kalos he would 100% be a Meowstic.
Next is FOOOOOORD
Tumblr media
One of my rules for this game was that I wanted to use poke’mon I never had, mostly. I needed a flying type, and I was suggested Sigilyph. So congrats Ford! You are officially the ONLY Psychic type on the team and one of the weirdest poke’mon.
Now we start getting to the big ones. In Size
Tumblr media
LUCY! Y’all know Jellicents are bleedin huge? So, She and Cassie are the ones I took the most liberty with in terms of design, like shrinking down that head and turning most of the fluff into her headscarf.
She and Ford are also one of the more fragile team members. Given the chance, they can deal with things, but for tricky fights, the 3 hard and tanky hitters will take the brunt of damage.
And last but not least.
Otto
Tumblr media
HE’S FUCKING HUGE
I DIDN’T REALIZE HOW BIG ELEKTROSSES ARE HOLY SHIT. So... yes I raised a Tynamo as soon as I got to Chargestone Cavern. Yes it took a long time. I needed an Electric type xD
These were real fun to make ahahah! Now then, I will leave you with their heights all stacked together, and the journal notes under a cut.
Enjoy!
Tumblr media Tumblr media
{Trainer Journal}
Bianca and Professor Juniper wanted me to do something extra along side filling up the Pokedex. Apparently the Pokedex has all generalized data and not much on variations and mutations that could happen naturally. So they asked that I keep an eye out on my journey. Not a problem!
{Helmut}     =Tepig
-So far so normal. He is pretty new to the world after all. He has taken a shine to the Sewaddle I caught a little while ago. Does not like the Azurill... I mean... I kinda get it. Little gal is real angry.
=Pignite -First variation. According to the Dex, Pignites have these curl designs and straight bands, but Helmut’s got like... leaf cut outs and the bands are like... arches. His fire’s weird too. It’s got green and pink in there sometime.
-Second variation. We just got a Drilbur, and I named her Cassie. Helmut’s really friendly so he bounced on over to her. Aaaand pretty soon after I think I saw more orange in his fire. I thought it was weakening but nope, just can be a more orange fire. Weird.
-Random note: Helmut saw a beanie in Castelia. He rocked the Bug gym, as I expected, so I figured why not. Thank Arceus they had one that was fire proof. Pros: He’s happy and immediately bounced over to Bob to show him. Cons: He will not take it off anymore.
- Third Fire. Got a Sigilyph, and now his fire’s got blue and green in them now. Professor what does this mean.
   =Emboar
-FIRE HIS DAMN FIRE IS A RAINBOW. -Does not have the large curly designs on his chest. Instead it’s more leaf patterns. He’s also way more hued in colour than most Emboars.
-Do Fire types’ fire normally react to their emotions like this? If he’s with Compton, his fire turns purple sometimes. It also turns purple when he’s stressed. It dies down if it’s blue, and it tends to be green and pink around Bob.
-Also Helmut definitely has a crush on Bob. And I think it’s reciprocated. I am worried about their typings but wow it’s cute.
-Helmut’s eyebrows are on fire.
-It seems like Helmut’s really influenced by the team. They each gave him a new colour for his flames, and I think he’s building a small psychic resistance. Not a lot but it’s there.
-I don’t think there’s any way to replicate this kinda of variation. Helmut’s always been sensitive to his surroundings. Might just be a him thing.
{Bob}    =Sewaddle
-Little guy took a shine to Helmut really quickly. Woulda figured the type matchup wouldn’t let that happen too well.
-His attacks aren’t... totally inaccurate but I’m a bit worried. It’s not too bad right now but seriously no other Sewaddle has this issue as far as I’ve seen.
-According to the dex, the only difference between males and females is height. We’ll see dex. We’ll see.
   =Swadloon
-Glasses. He needed glasses. What- how- Professor did you know some mons need GLASSES???
-He’s made his own by using twigs he got before we left for Castelia and is using the harbor water as lenses. I am taking him to an eye doc for proper lenses.
-Now that he can see his own reflection in windows, he keeps scratching at his chin and face. I wonder what he’s thinkin.
//He wants what you humans call a beard// -FORD GET OUT OF MY NOTES
   =Levanny
-Shit. Ford was right. Good for him then.
-His leaf hood looks a bit more like a mane hahah. He looks good, got a tie, his legs have faint stripes (Makes me think of plaid stuff) and he has a flower tucked on his chest. Helmut gave him flowers so he seems to just switch them out.
-He’s taller than an average male Leavanny. Thicker too. Just as fast though.
{Cassie}    =Drilburr
-I’m concerned about that giant hole in the sewers. Ah well, caught a Drilburr. Nothing out of the ordinary. Except some slightly loose skin at the top. Like a Purrloin.
   =Excadrill
-... Okay... That pattern is WILDLY different than normal Excadrills. Where’d the yellow come from? Helmut??
-The loose skin makes more sense now. She can flip her top drill up and down like a visor.
-Thinner than most Excadrills, according to the group.
-Clay has an Excadrill, so I asked to compare. Wow males are WAY tinier than males. Also the visor helmet thing is apparently singular to Cassie.
{Ford}
-We were out in the Relic Castle desert, and I kept coming across Sigilyphs. And then we came across one that looked... Like it had a moustache?? T’was also bigger than the others. Turns out it’s because he’s male. I call him Ford now.
-He’s pretty grumpy
//Oh like the Swadloon ain’t.//
-The grumpy eyes are on the body as well. Mismatched too. They’re also green instead of blue like normal ones.
//Not a word about the eyes.//
-Sigilyphs are weird.
//Why you-// (the ink scribbles to the edge)
-I KNEW IT! FORD OUT OF MY NOTES!
//IT’S MY JOURNAL ENTRY I DESERVE TO WRITE IN IT//
{Compton}   =Minccinno
-Okay so... This little guy is beyond skittish. I didn’t even dare to fight him. No way, nope, bad time. I’m just gonna leave him alone. -Scratch that he got even more anxious when we tried to leave. I am at an impasse.
-Okay so Ford and Cassie managed to make him calmer. Good. Maybe we can get out of here now.
-Nope he’s latched onto Cassie. Okay buddy here’s a ball.
-No way I am letting him be a part of the main battle party but he could be nice to have around. He’s got a cute bowler hat too.
-I got to check his tail. It’s more curly than normal I think.
-I may let him fight a bit, just so he doesn’t fall behind the team too much. In case there’s bad situation.
  =Cinccinno
-Well he certainly poofed out. His white fur is all poofy and curly instead of straight.
-He’s... really well versed in berries and teas. Made some good stuff. -How is this mon better at cooking than me. He’s cooking from now on.
//For the best.//
{Lucy}   = Frillish
-I spotted her back in Virbank ages ago but I couldn’t surf. Moment I could, I had Ford fly us back her to find her. What do you know, she was still there.
-So normal Frillish have a collar around their neck. This one has a hood apparently. I wonder if she’ll keep it.
- Eyes are a teal green instead of red.
  =Jellicent
-...
-PROFFESSOR
-Wildly different from normal Jellicent. No huge head for one. She did keep the scarf hood, all that fluff that is normally there turned into that. She’s super flowy.
-She’s got little... dashes in her hood, almost looks like raindrops.
-Man the dex entry. I can see how.
-Ford quit making goo goo eyes with the ship sinker.
//No.//
-Great I have two of them now.
{Otto}   =Tynamo
-This little guy annoyed Ford for a good while before I chucked a quick ball at him. Now the two are getting along pretty well.
-Seems to have more fins than a normal Tynamo.
-The EXP share is going on you buddy boi.
  =Eelektrik
-THE FACE! HAHAHAHA!
-The spots aren’t circular. Looks more like a toddler drew them on.
-Definitely has more fin frills than normal. It almost looks like a mullet.
-He found goggles. I don’t know where but he did.
-He got chewed out by Compton after he messed with the food. I think he was trying to experiment.
  =Eelektross
-SWEET ARCEUS ON TOAST
-HE’S BIGGER THAN EVERYONE HOLY SHIT.
-Antenna is... jagged. More like a thunderbolt. The fin there is spikier too. Makes me think of a thunderbolt. As if he wasn’t electric enough.
-The spots turned into a swirl on his big fish mitts. Looks cool.
-Blue eyes rather than red.
====================
Out of all of them, Helmut had the most changes. I wonder if it’s because he went through the whole adventure compared to the others. But he was also way more sensitive to the world.
Maybe that’s his mutation. Almost like Eevee but not quite.
How I ended up with such a bizarre team I don’t know.
Wouldn’t trade ‘em for the world.

hahaha
what did i even write...
ok I think it must be this one. the example I used was the behaviour of polarising filters, which is everyday scale... but yeah i do get a bit heavy with the jargon here. since I have a physics background, I tend to be annoyed when an explanation isn't technically accurate (and since I was talking about Umineko not quite getting the details right... all the more so lol). my liveblog is definitely a creature made of overly in-depth tangents, but at some point I have to hold off on writing a detailed account of the history of quantum mechanics. unless.....
I think the double-slit experiment falls into a nice middle ground where it has meaningful physics but is simple enough to explain as an introductory example - and it's got a nice visual too! interference pattern vs. no interference pattern. you can appreciate that without any maths. whereas something like Compton scattering, which was more historically relevant to the development of quantum mechanics, requires you to know quite a bit about classical electromagnetism to know what you'd "normally" expect to happen when a plane wave interacts with an orbiting electron. that said, as you observe, it is definitely a cliché of introductory quantum mechanics (along with Schrödinger's infamous cat).
as far as quantized momentum of light, that gets into even more technicalities.
in a vacuum, you can have a photon at any arbitrary momentum - there is a continuous infinity of eigenstates of the momentum operator.
however, if you have a set of plane waves at a specific frequency (and thus a specific momentum per photon), the total energy in the wave is quantized. so you can only add or remove integer amounts of photons, as in the photoelectric effect.
also, in a constrained space (like a waveguide), only certain frequencies are allowed, so the momentum states aren't continuous anymore.
to properly account for stuff like particle interactions requires you to treat number of particles as a quantum variable (using a formalism called second quantization), and that's the sort of thing you learn about four years into a physics degree. so if you write about the photoelectric effect, you have to handwave the details quite a bit. i mean you have to handwave the details quite a bit in any introduction to quantum mechanics, but it's much easier to lead with something like the Stern-Gerlach experiment which introduces the formalism in a simpler way.
I had a look at how David Tong introduces the subject to Cambridge students, and he leads with some key parts of the formalism (wavefunctions, Hamiltonians, Schrödinger equation) and explanation of quantum measurement. the only experiment mentioned in the first few pages is a picture of particle trails in a cloud chamber, as an example of a collapsed quantum measurement. when we finally get an experiment on page 14... it's the double slit experiment. then back to maths - by page 32 we're building Gaussian wavepackets.
now, that's a presentation aimed at physics students... what's best for a broader audience? I don't know! I have a bad habit of going too fast when trying to teach a subject I know well, focusing on what feels like a satisfying logical progression to me rather than what is accessible to a student unfamiliar with the domain.
as for whether anyone's seen a photon (I know, joke question, but here's a serious answer): our eyes are not nearly sensitive to distinguish single photons from noise, but we do manipulate and detect single photons in various ways. photon-counting detectors are used in astronomy and medicine, and single-photon sources have existed since the 70s, used in fiber-optic communication with potential uses in cryptography. so photons pass the "if you can spray them, they're real" test of "instrumental realism". not sure if that satisfies you :p
you know, everybody keeps choosing the worst examples for their ~spooky nature of quantum reality~ explainers. nobody actually thinks light is a particle. stop telling me about the double slit experiment and start telling me about the quantized momentum of light. tell me about [checks wikipedia] compton scattering i guess?? see? it sounds so fake. has anybody even seen a photon.
