the thing about my stupid thesis is that i love my lesbian boss slash thesis advisor and ive been working on this project for two years and i care about it and find it interesting and theoretically this work as the basis for my chance to demonstrate what ive joyfully and enthusiastically learned across the last four years should be a rewarding exciting opportunity but i was overly ambitious with my thesis proposal and feel this constant pressure to be inventive and incisive due to my deliberately interdisciplinary training on top of regular old academic pressure and the impossibility of pleasing aforementioned lesbian boss thesis advisor and ive also invested such a personal emotional degree into it that criticism is kind of terrifying and unbearable and also i really dont know anything about statistics and then my shit got rocked by the fires effectively throwing everything in my system out of whack in ways i can barely identify

HAHA do u have any strong feelings abt the "trades" too or is it just me? bc the "trades" lowkey make me so sad. like wdym the season after aomine gets traded from cavs to the timberwolves the cavs become number one in the east and the wolves start sucking (compared to their performance last season, where they were number one in the west)... like that's just so heartbreaking to me... at least we can imagine ant and aomine on a team together causing chaos

kuroko's trade makes me mad for a different reason, even tho dallas is performing better than the spurs (but no big difference from last season @ this time), they've separated kuroko and wemby!!! wemby doesnt need chris paul he can have kuroko. or fuck it he can have both of them! now the spurs r really a problem! but nooo now he's on the mavs... i'm sure its bc of the luka magic or kyries skills or whatever but i dont caaaare... i feel like kuroko fits the spurs so much better

also i think kuroko looks sooo much better in the spurs uniforms than any of the dallas uniforms! he doesnt need to be in blue all the time... the black and white suits him nicely! now aomine on the other hand... i Do think he looks better in the current wolves uniforms, but thats just because i hate the current cavs uniforms LMAO. i think the og knb x nba crossover made pretty good matches for the characters to their teams! whoever's in charge needs to free themselves from always matching hair color to the uniform color but alas... at least nobody else changed teams (from what i saw)

it's funny the misconceptions people get about an academic field from only being exposed to grad students and enthusiasts on tumblr. they'll be like "and of course, [x] is a popular reading" and actually there's been one (1) article published on that reading, ever, and the academic field is divided between people who have never read that article and who would never consider this reading because it would simply not occur to them (80% of the field); people who haven't read it but know of it and are actively opposed to the concept of this reading (10%); people who have read it and are mad about it (5%); people who've read it and think it's valid enough as a reading but don't personally vibe with it (4%); and then the tiny group of people who would actually 100% stand behind that reading (1%). which may or may not include the author of the article in the first place

but the reading is popular on tumblr among a specific subset of people that's 80% amateur enthusiasts and 20% grad students in the direct social circle of the author of that article! and obviously this is an accurate representation of the field 👍

David Croft: Jenson returning to you, at what stage did you feel the victory was on today? When you got to the chicane and saw your teammate suddenly right ahead of you, or did you feel as you were catching him at that stage the win was always on?

Jenson Button: Well, I mean it's very easy to say now but um, personally I felt at the end of the first stint. I felt that I was able to look after the tyres for the remainder of the first stint. I think about half-way through people started struggling, and I was able to push on. And the car felt really good.

I think I was about three seconds behind Lewis when he pitted, on the first stop I pulled in about a second a lap up to that point. So at that point I knew I was in good shape, the car was working well for me, and I thought it was a matter of time in the dry conditions for us to get the jump on Lewis - because at the end of the stints he was struggling.

But obviously it turned out a little bit different with the rain coming down, it was pretty difficult on the prime tyre - those aren't the conditions for that tyre! But a lot of fun all the same, it's always fun racing with Lewis. I think we're pretty fair, I don't think we touched this time, and yeah - great to come away with the victory this weekend.
