the smell of tea wafted in the air. familiar and comforting, like the glittering gold filtering through the vitrage.

meirin sat up on a bed far too big for herself and rubbed her eyes. her muscles ached, and her head felt heavy but also clear at the same time — the clearest it had been for the past few days, in fact.

“how are you feeling, tiánxīn?”

a name sat at the tip of her tongue, and the syllable rolled off her tongue as smooth as warm osmanthus tea sliding down her throat.

“zhongli…? when did you get back?”

she rubbed her eyes sleepily and felt the gloveless hand on her cheek; the wedding ring engraved with the countless manmade lines embodying the countless lifetimes spent together pressing against her skin.

“just yesterday. how are you feeling?”

she tilted her head at the insistence in her husband’s steady voice, and decided to try and humor him a little, lighten the creases in his eyebrows, “like i just woke up from a nightmare. it’s been a rough few days, but i feel a lot better now…”

a forehead kiss and an affectionate stroke of thumb on her cheek later, she watched her husband stand up to pour her a glass of water from the bedside table. it was then she noticed the state of the bedroom - every surfaces cleaned and every objects put back neatly, unlike what she remembered last time she—

and for hu tao? she's left to deal with the corpse of your love. despite her experience with death, she doesn't quite know how to put these feelings to rest. you betrayed her, yet she loves you. if you were to return, she would take you back in her arms.

"overseer," a voice interrupts hu tao's spiraling thoughts as she stands in the lobby of the wangsheng funeral parlor. "are you alright?"

it's the familiar voice of zhongli. she knows he cannot stand her, yet he's also kind enough to inquire whenever he sees anguish. is she that pathetic that she requires his assistance.

"just peachy! i'm doing quite well, actua-" hu tao begins, but her voice cracks on the final syllable. tears well up in her eyes and she pauses, not wanting to make a pathetic display of herself in front of her underling. but the honeyed gaze of zhongli is too much. it reads her entirely. he knows. he knows you left. he wouldn't look at her with such a pitying gaze otherwise.

the consultant steps forward and envelops her smaller frame in a hug. it is comforting, despite the rift that exists between him. hu tao can't stop herself as a sob breaks out of her. no words exit her lips, only broken cries.

"a true lover would not break the unspoken contract of a relationship," zhongli advises, but hu tao shakes her head. her hands scrabble to get a grip on his back, hugging him close and desperately as she unprofessionally breaks down.

"i don't want a true lover, i want quill," she cries. zhongli remains steady, holding her close. she cannot see his face as she buries her head into the expensive fabric of his coat. is he disappointed in her? annoyed? angry? she doesn't know.

she ruins her relationships with everyone. she couldn't even keep you. what's another bridge burnt? zhongli will keep returning anyways. he needs a paycheck.

yet, she can't see the solemn expression that crosses his face. it's one of understanding. even if he still had his gnosis, there are some wishes that an archon cannot grant. humanity are fickle creatures. their emotions are untamed and their whims are difficult to understand. but, for now, zhongli is knowledgeable enough to know that hu tao needs a friend as she heals from the wounds that you inflicted on her.

so, he stands with her as she sobs in the halls of the wangsheng funeral parlor, the same place you met the man that you left her for.

xhajsvjabahwgehe The “collecting men” comment (joke?) reminds me of this old post where I tried to brainstorm a “feasible” reason for Raven to connect with each of the 22 NRC boys. It also brings to mind the time I played EBG and had to adopt Leona as my new “favorite character”.

They were things I did for fun, to stretch my creativity... but man. OTL Some of that is really coming back to bite me in the ass now...

A large creature lies on the grass up ahead. The white-haired young man approaches both careful and curious… it’s, a deer? A doe, in fact. At first he thinks it could be dead (a prized hunt, given the size) but it doesn’t even seem injured, there is no smell of blood.

It seems… unconscious, however?

What’s more, a single glance up close is more than enough to realize this is no common doe. Apart from being rather large, gilded patterns cover part of its flanks and legs, spiraling and drawing complex shapes down to its golden hooves. Small patches of leaves seem to grow directly from its fur and even take the place of its tail. All around it there’s an air of growth, renewal, life.   

A youkai perhaps?

It doesn’t carry the scent of Inazuma however, rather…

That of sandbearer trees… of silk flowers and lotuses…

Hmmm.

How curious indeed.

He crouches next to the creature and cautiously runs a hand along its head and back. Its fur is so soft. It almost seems to glow subtly.

Perhaps it will be best to keep an eye on this creature and try to help it.

"No no wait!" Crys shakes her head and her arms in front of herself frantically, dismissing the change of topic. "You obviously can't feel it, you're only human, but your scent… It has drastically changed altogether." She frowns. "You no longer have my Lord's scent on you. Nor the tea sets, nor the new decorations… nothing here. It's like he hasn't been here in quite a while. A-And don't feel his signature adeptal energy either." She seems a little distressed.

"To my senses it's like this is a different place and you're a different person. And t-the rumors about fissures all over Liyue, the lack of geo crystalflies… just what happened while I was away at Fontaine?" She mutters low, as if speaking mostly to herself.

Where is he? Why do you no longer smell like his mate?

meirin blinked in utter confusion as her friend rambled on as if she was panicking. in an effort to calm her down, she patted her deer adeptus' friend's head softly.

"..... crys, calm down for a second.... are you okay? how can i be a different person? nothing happened while you were away, as far as i can remember, and...."

".... just who is this 'lord' you're talking about?"

"Miss, I'm afraid the teahouse is closing soon, and I have a few matters to discuss regarding some administrative matters in the teahouse."

Coviello's eyes were cold as they stared down at Crys, though they kept the polite smile on their lips.

"Oh.... is that so? Well, that's unfortunate. I'll have to see you tomorrow then, Crys?" Meirin smiled apologetically and snapped her fingers, seemingly remembering something, "Oh, you baked a cake for us last time and I haven't given you anything back, did I? Coviello, make sure you serve her one of our cakes tomorrow, on the house, okay?"

"I understand. I'll make sure to do so tomorrow. Then...."

"We look forward to your patronage tomorrow, Miss Crys."

With a bow and a smile, the door to the teahouse slammed shut.

I wasn’t planning on posting these since they aren’t clean. Moreover, I honestly just made them for fun and for @cursedtwst because we’re playing ebg.

I posted them on discord in several chats. Recently, I found out that someone posted them on tumblr even though I can’t find a single trace of it. But I am worried nonetheless. So I’m posting it now.

Also, I hope you know that I made the original Groom!Jade sprite and that these are versions of the original. I will literally show you my psd recoloring files. I’m upset over this and I’m crying and I’m really paranoid about this kind of stuff whdpownfkodowek

I also hope you know that none of my recolorings are free to use, edit. Also no reposting please;;;; Yes, they’re just edits. But they happen to take me about 2-4 hours to make. The only people allowed to use them are the people I make them for/have given them permission to use. I do think I’m overreacting since I can’t even find this post but I’d rather deal with this now than later 🗿💔

Which character do you relate to the most in TWST? Apparently I'm a Riddle kinnie since I have a major sweet tooth (and I love strawberries), plus I have quite the temper, oh and it's quite hard for me not to scream "OFF WITH YOUR HEAD" when pissed. I know ur not a Trey kinnie tho XD

Oh dear God, anon, you opened a can of worms. 😆 (And also thanks, I am not a Trey kinnie) I’ve thought about this for a long time, and I can say that the characters I relate to are, in ascending order, Leona, Vil, and Azul.

Frankly, Leona and Vil are around the same level because they have similar reasons as to why I relate to them: they work/ed hard so they can attain what they want but there’s something standing in the way. I’m not exactly the most hardworking person if I’ll be completely honest, but I know I can put in a lot of effort, especially when it’s with the things I want or have to do. But even when I’m proud of something, I tend to get a low grade on that something, and that’s how I relate to Leona in a sense. I also relate to him because I do have personal projects that I’d start on, only to not work on them anymore because I got lazy.

But frankly, between Vil and Leona, I’d say I relate more to Vil slightly. I do write for Twst, and sometimes I’d think to myself ‘hey I can write’, but I’d see my writer friends garnering a lot of notes and attention, even hitting top posts, and while I’m proud of them, I also feel a little shot down from envy. But I continue to write regardless because I enjoy it and I know I can still improve (though I haven’t written anything lately due to school...).

For Azul... for starters, we both can do mental math. We both play piano. When my server friends were doing EBG, I swear to God, I felt like I was an Azul because I was sniping people/almost sniping people with intent. Apparently, my friends say I am as level-headed as Azul 😂 I still don’t fully understand why, but I’ll take it. But there is a lot more than that.

I’ve never been bullied, maybe except for the occasional gossip. But I do realize that we have a lot of similarities. The reason why I started liking Azul was because of the scene where he panics in front of Leona when he had the contracts in 3-31. I’m not someone who easily cries, and it’s so rare for me to feel like crying when I read a book, watch a movie or show, or play a game. If I do feel like crying, it’s probably because I hold an emotional attachment to the character who’s probably suffering since that’s probably the best way to get me to cry while going through fictional media. But Azul... I almost cried thrice because of that scene. I wasn’t into Azul at all! In fact, I was so annoyed at him because he was always one step ahead of us and I wanted Yuu to beat him, but seeing him so frantic, so different from his usual self, broke my heart.

And it made me wonder why I felt so emotional during that scene because there had to be something I saw. And eventually, I realized: it’s because Azul always seemed so far away, but in that moment, when he’s brought down in that moment, I realized that we’re not so different after all.

Azul and I try to put up facades... well, we all do, so... Azul and I hate looking vulnerable, feeling vulnerable. Azul and I both hate crying because to us, it’s a sign of vulnerability. Azul and I don’t cry easily but we both have one thing that can easily break us down. And the past moments when we were at our lowest? Both of us don’t acknowledge it. We pretend that they never existed.

And I put Azul as the most relatable because this is something deeply personal to me. I felt like it was because of Azul that I can try to improve myself more. Call me an Azul kinnie if you’d like 🗿 but I won’t react, because it’s these similarities I share with Azul that helped me improve.

i got into pentagon through pentagon maker 😊 after pentagon debuted tho. so there was significantly less tension watching it LOL but the elimination vid was still sad.. esp shinwon’s “elimination” 😢 but u said shinwon is ur fav? what made u like him? -ss🎅🏼

shinwon’s elimination vid’s ability to make me cry is unrivaled honestly like. the minute i see anything from it i am in tears! my first bias/ult in ptg was actually hyunggu and i ended up playing ebg on twitter shortly after biasing him so i couldn’t talk about him at all. so i defaulted to talking about other members of the group and shinwon was at the top of that list. i love love LOVE piano players and after finding a few videos of him playing piano i was like,,, this is my boy. i also really took to him because of how passionate he is about being a ptg member and an idol. he’s one of those people that really really loves the group theyre apart of and would do anything for ptg and when he was eliminated he was like “im glad its me and not someone else” which quite frankly broke my entire heart. we also have really similar music tastes. when i found ptg i was also really really into day6 at the time (and still am) and really enjoyed bands (ex emo kid and 5sos fan) and so seeing that shinwon also really liked bands and artists like harry styles and the 1975 and others like that i was like. he’s literally me. also he’s just really goofy and if a boy can’t make me laugh then whats the point! but anyway ss,, ,who’s your fave (eye emoji that im too lazy to look up bc im on desktop)
