#My Music #Software #Listening back to this before posting and I hear a lot of old tricks used to make something new.#Cool but I can hear all the individual old tricks.#I've reached the point where my desire to make these quick little pieces.#Is clashing with my desire to make more intricate things.#Plus time and available energy.#I've been experimenting with making loops and chopping them up smaller and smaller.#Then playing around with the arrangement of the chops.#Making melodies out of what sounds like rapid channel changing.#Oval's 94diskont by way of DJ Shadow.#It's fun but takes time.

Had to throw away a wholeass project I was working on because what I was trying to do wasn't viable in html/js the way I wanted it to be.

I could probably remake it in Unity pretty quick. (As in, over a weekend.) But y'know. Fuck those guys.

So I'm finally attempting to learn Godot because indie game dev is one of my many backup plans for when I inevitably get laid off and this seems like a simple enough project that I can start ramping up on that before trying to make, y'know, a wholeass game. (Even a small wholeass game.)

All this to say I have a Play button in Godot now.

i should get back into practicing dj'ing honestly... the more i watch folks on twitch doin lil parties and just vibin while mixing, the more i really wanna do that

#kanny says things #i do have the software and hardware for it #i have Virtual DJ and DJControl Compact #and the other month i went to the used book store and bought like a dozen cds that i ripped the music from #the DJControl Compact fits on my desk but i wish it did have a few more knobs #because of its size it has to sacrifice some knobs and sliders #which makes controlling all aspects of the music a tad harder #but if i get anything bigger i just wont have space on my desk alongside my keyboard and mouse #idk i just think itd be a fun thing to do during the evening rather than just play vidya games

so I made a mostly-to-scale map of the greenhouses! a while ago! and then also a couple customer-friendly versions to actually print out and laminate. there's labels and everything. :3

only problem is I did it in Illustrator bc that's the most complex art program we have on the main artsy/sign-making computer. but it is also Illustrator. which is only on That Computer. so we're gonna try and get freeware that can open the files. DJ has one he likes. I just had other things to do today besides spend too much time on that. eventually...!

#LIKE...... technically there's GIMP on the computer already but idk how to use that as well as AI. unfortunately. a personal failing.#I can admit this. I can also just work with DJ and get smth different.#working on the map makes me miss the engineering/drafting courses I took 100 years ago. u_u #those were all like... technical drawings. but the gist is the same. numbers. lines. spaces. cussing at software. etc.
