☝🏿🇰🇷#HappyNewYear from #Asia Mom Since my baby years Me & Moms been thru #HellonEarth together already.. (Ironically title of @mobbdeepqb Album i listen to everyday )... no need to wait for an "afterlife". Im still trying to figure out how she so strong to raise my knucklehead ass in a place like #EastOakland & still be so kind ,caring & positive. From the lessons she taught me things have become more clear as I grow & gain more wisdom. Finally got her to work on finishing her book. The world needs to hear her unbelievable story. Many Black women go through so much i think it will empower others She has had health problems my whole life. So I had to learn to take good care of her since a kid. Although many things improved over decades of struggle, there'd still always be 1 thing after another. 2021 she spent most of year back & forth to or full time in hospital. Barely able to walk, or function. We thought we lost her. But somehow she bounced back & left the hospital and came home to a fully redecorated place🙏🏿 Few years before that we helped her beat #breastcancer Another very hard time, where didn't look like she would make it. She made #chemo seem easy and after surgeries , radiation she was deemed #Cancerfree Well it's not my mothers BdDay yet but the good news is...a week ago she had her annual Cancer Screening test and she is still Cancer free. These pictures are from her 2022 BDay which means she saw another 🎂 And thankfully she still with us. #Juneteenth Reflections; Some of my earliest memories in #DeepEastOakland during hard times w/ moms,was listening to #vinyl records on a small stereo.I was maybe my Delmo's ,age or so.We lived in apartments near #EastmontMall so we couldnt play the 🎶 to loud at night.We shared Headphones.My mom would sing a long & show me how the melodies worked.She would talk to me like an adult explaining the purpose/meaning of the lyrics.We'd read the vinyl album covers,credits and she'd tell me back stories of the artists.Also she'd tell me of her adventures in her & my Uncle George's singing career.Very special memories that shaped my🎵life #DLabrie #LinkinBio @RDV_promo Some of her Faves were the 1st artists i fell in 💓 with 👂🏿during this time I vividly remember hearing @chakaikhan all the time my mom would say "When i was a singer people would tell me i look like #ChakaKhan " She did too. It made me think her music was singing a message to me as my mom #ThroughtheFire which @Kanyewest remade & #Aintnobody was playing once when my mom went into pyschosis &i had to chase her thru the streets of #EastOakland & call the ambulance.
