MIRACLE AU
finally, after thinking for a long time and doodling some shitty models, I have completed it!!! Miracle au takes place after the crash. Everyone injured is given a second chance when they're brought back to life by doctors on earth (except for Jimmy. his condition was untreatable.) And live their lives out under care of Nurse Anya!
ANYA
-her stomach was pumped after her semi-lethal overdose, which causes her to (obviously) lose the baby. She manages to get a job at the hospital everyone is at, and tends to her crew. -Since her condition was the least terrible of the crew, she was discharged early and sent home. But she returned to the hospital out of fear she wouldn't be able to help her crew members. -Overall, sweet woman taking care of them. Praise her.
CURLY
-after a LOT of reconstructional surgeries, they managed to put him in a somewhat better state. -Attending daily speech therapy. -Mostly bedridden due to his condition, but occasionally takes a wheelchair around the hospital to check in on his crew. -Terrified of talking to anya again out of guilt of what he did (or didn't) do for her. -Him and Pidge are slowly rekindling their bond into something more! -The mere mention of Jimmy makes him feel sick. -The government is attempting to fund his recovery to the best of their ability due to the enforced trauma the crew encountered.
PIDGE
-Still in care. -Mostly because she doesn't have anywhere to go. Her parents moved out of state, and to their knowledge, she's dead. -Removing the bullet fragment from her head messed with her brain a bit, so she's a bit different from her regular self. (Harder time communicating, tinnitus, occasional visual seizures.) -Anya and her are closer than before, since Anya spends a lot of time treating her. -Still dealing with the fact Jimmy had done such horrible things; prefers not to talk about it. -Loves curly dearly, wishes she could show it. They don't get to see each other often, most of the time curly's not in a state for visits. -Overall, still our special gal.
DAISUKE
-after a lot of stitchwork, he's left with a cool ass scar and a new outlook on life. -Planning to return to baseball once he fully heals up, and wants to make it to the big leagues. -His parents are often in the hospital with him, fretting over him and giving him gifts. Swansea has become close friends with his family. -Often spends a lot of time drawing, a skill he's returning to more often after the crash. If baseball doesn't work, he wants to become an artist. -The scar left his vision slightly impaired. He's getting vision treatment, and might need glasses.
SWANSEA
-Removing the bullets from his head was a lot of work, and left him partially paralyzed in his right arm. -But overall, he's doing well. -Happily reunited with his wife and children, who visit him quite a bit. -Spends a lot of time watching over Pidge when Anya is busy. He feels responsible for the poor girl. -Basically, the young crew member's babysitter. -Still the grumpy old man we know and love. -Getting treatment for alcohol addiction. Says he 'would rather drink to erase that shitty experience.' But obviously, Anya strongly rejects that.
And, Jimmy is dead. Yeah.
feel free to send in asks about this au, I'd love to yap about it. Art and posts about it will be posted under the #miracle AU tag!! I hope you like it, I thought about it a lot!! :-)
NOTE: there isn't really any romantic relationships in this AU besides Pidge and Curly. Anya is an outed Lesbian, Daisuke is a trans man, and Swansea is happily married. I wrote them how I see them; I'm sorry if it goes against what you think about these characters. Also, sorry for the cringe OC x canon shipping. I just adore them so much.
#pigeonfic⯎#mouthwashing#Miracle AU#mouthwashing au#daisuke#jimmy#curly#anya#Swansea#they are all okay your honor!!

Kubrick
An ordinary story told in an extraordinary way. “Eyes Wide Shut” is the story of a marriage. Love, lust, jealousy, temptation, lies, confession, and forgiveness. Playing with the danger of flirting, or watching your partner do the same, provides a break from the daily grind of married life. Eroticism with a safety harness. Like a carnival ride.

A well-off couple prepares for a night out, babysitter and all. Alice’s (Nicole Kidman) loveliness is ignored by her husband, and they’re off. At Victor Ziegler’s (Sydney Pollack) holiday party, where they know nobody, Dr. Bill Harford (Tom Cruise) sees an old buddy from medical school playing the piano. The couple separate. Alice dances with a Hungarian vampire (Sky du Mont). It is sexy and thrilling. She leaves her glass. He drinks her blood. Each time they lean in, so close, it’s unnerving and arousing.
“Eyes Wide Shut” is a rich, open text. It’s a dream, it’s a trip under the rainbow, it’s through the looking glass, it’s a Christmas tale. Or, something more mundane. Alice gives it away in the film’s conclusion: we just need to fuck. This is the story of a young, beautiful, busy couple who can’t find the time for intimacy — the punch line to countless sitcom jokes.
Read literally, the text of the film is absurd. A most elaborate male fantasy is the backdrop for a mystery, a thriller, a conspiracy tale. For Bill Harford, flirtation is small talk: a Sam Spade misdirection.

He spends much of the holiday party in a walking threesome. Later, he interrogates Domino’s (Vinessa Shaw) roommate about Domino’s whereabouts while fondling her breast, as if he’s discussing the weather. Harford is a charming doctor who attracts attention from women and men alike — a smitten hotel desk clerk (Alan Cumming) — in nearly every scene.
Reading the film as a dream helps navigate these surreal moments. So does reading it as satire. Bill Harford flashes his medical credentials so often that it becomes a running joke: the bourgeois doctor scratching at the doggie door of privilege. In fact, some of the more disturbing, sexually-charged moments of the film become more palatable because they are satirically funny: the costume shop owner’s daughter (Leelee Sobieski) being chased around by two cross-dressing Asian men; Marion confessing her secret love for Bill while her father lies on his deathbed and her fiance waits in the hall; even Mandy’s (Julienne Davis) overdose at the holiday party is rendered somewhat ridiculous as she slouches naked in a chair. Our sophisticated, sexualized society is ultimately a farcical collection of sloppy spit and sagging breasts. Even the notorious masked orgy can feel a bit campy and hilarious.
Don’t get me wrong, the secret, masked party is a tour de force of pacing, images, and sound. The monotonous musical piece, “Masked Ball” by Jocelyn Pook, is haunting and mesmerizing. A masked priest performs a circular ritual, slamming a scepter to the floor and uncloaking beautiful women one at a time: the black mass spinning a prurient promenade. Like the lighting, colors, wide-angle steadicam shots, and score, it’s a new vision of filmmaking that will be imitated for years to come.
Throughout the film, an exquisite palate of color and light paint nearly every space. The teal and orange technique is prominent. Each frame is a visual feast. Those long dissolves between scenes, carried over from “The Shining,” add to the dreamy buzz. Kubrick famously focuses on every detail. During Marion’s confessional scene to Bill, light seems to be streaming from their mouths.

Let’s not, however, let ourselves completely off the hook. Declaring satire is an easy way to detach from other meaning. Act III is a remorseful murder mystery. Dr. Bill realizes that his actions may have led to Mandy’s death, and he courts danger to himself and his family as he attempts to uncover the source of this transgression. The resistance he encounters isn’t fantastic, only a step or two from the way rich and powerful people in the real world have access to a different brand of justice or a different set of tax rules.
There’s a Zen koan that asks of your experience, What is this? Am I dreaming? It shakes you awake from your assumptions and routine. In “Eyes Wide Shut,” it’s a brilliant storytelling tactic. Bill comes home early in the morning after his adventure at the secret ceremony. A masked woman, who we later discover was Mandy, saved him from utter shame. She sacrificed herself for him. Alice is in bed, sleeping and laughing. He wakes her up, and she tells him her disturbing dream, where she is essentially one of the sexual acolytes at the orgy. Is her dream a connection to reality? Is this entire story a dream? Is there a difference between dreaming and reality? This injection of ambiguous story content is a refreshing departure from typical cinematic realism. For Bill, it is at the very least a trigger for his feelings of guilt and remorse. Alice continues to be the locus of inquiry into the nature of the reality of these experiences. In the film’s conclusion, she forgives Bill, in part, by suggesting all of these recent events were a dream.
On some level, a film is a reverie, a series of events for a voyeuristic audience. “Eyes Wide Shut” focuses on that voyeurism. In Alice’s dream, she has sex with many men while people watch. After yet another easy encounter with a beautiful woman, a group of college boys gay-bash Dr. Harford; it’s like an audience mocking him for all these women throwing themselves at him. At Bill’s low point, Victor Ziegler confronts Bill and exposes his transgressions. But, he tries to give him a way out: what if I told you that all the events at the masked ritual were a kind of play? We were humiliating you for our entertainment.
Reality is a gentle plaything for Stanley Kubrick. Establishing shots of the East Village, borough bridges, and taxi rides confirm we are in New York City. The street scenes are designed to feel like downtown Manhattan, but they aren’t quite right. We are very clearly at the corner of Wren and Miller streets, but no such intersection or streets exist in Manhattan.
The film’s climax is a confession. A husband tells the truth and returns to the marriage. A wife finds forgiveness. One interpretation is that Alice’s earlier confession about her secret longing for the naval officer destroys Bill’s illusion of the marriage. But, that kind of marriage isn’t real. Alice understands the truth of marriage. It’s Bill who lives in a fantasy. Early on, we see that his flaw is keeping up the illusion of the perfect relationship with all his talk of absolute trust and loyalty.
Fidelio, indeed.

Is “Eyes Wide Shut” a horror movie? We have a vampire and a coven. Harpies and sirens. Right under the nose of Christmas. Marriage is conflict and Christmas is a longing. “Don’t you want to go where the rainbow ends?” Just like when you were a kid. “Eyes Wide Shut” sends us into a place of unsure reality and perhaps the supernatural.
After an opening of lust and lies, magical forces tear the couple apart. In the end, Dr. Bill comes clean. The spell is broken. The truth will set you free. That, and a good fuck.

Common and Uncommon Clonazepam Side Effects

Clonazepam, a widely prescribed benzodiazepine, is often used to manage anxiety disorders, seizures, and panic attacks. While effective, it’s important to understand the potential side effects—both common and uncommon—associated with this medication. This knowledge is crucial for anyone considering treatment options or those undergoing Substance Abuse Treatment in Boston for benzodiazepine dependency.
Common Side Effects of Clonazepam
Like most medications, clonazepam can cause side effects, particularly when first starting the treatment. These include:
Drowsiness: One of the most reported side effects, as clonazepam works by calming brain activity.
Dizziness: Often a result of its sedative properties.
Coordination Issues: Muscle weakness or a lack of balance can occur, especially in higher doses.
Memory Problems: Difficulty concentrating or mild forgetfulness is not unusual.
Fatigue: General tiredness can impact daily functioning.
For individuals in an Intensive Outpatient Program in Boston, managing these side effects can be a challenge, but healthcare providers can offer strategies to mitigate discomfort while continuing treatment.
Uncommon Side Effects of Clonazepam
Though less frequent, some individuals may experience rare or severe side effects. These include:
Depression or Mood Changes: Feelings of sadness, irritability, or agitation may arise.
Confusion: Difficulty understanding or processing information.
Hallucinations: In rare cases, visual or auditory hallucinations can occur.
Severe Allergic Reactions: Symptoms such as swelling of the face, tongue, or throat, or difficulty breathing, require immediate medical attention.
Liver Dysfunction: Signs include jaundice (yellowing of the skin or eyes) and dark urine.
If you or a loved one experiences any of these uncommon side effects, it is important to consult your physician or an Addiction Treatment Center in Boston promptly.
Long-Term Side Effects of Clonazepam
Long-term use of clonazepam carries risks, especially when taken without medical supervision. These may include:
Dependency and Addiction: Prolonged use increases the risk of physical and psychological dependence, often requiring support through Drug Rehab Programs in Boston or a Partial Hospitalization Program in Boston.
Cognitive Decline: Chronic use has been linked to memory impairments and decreased mental sharpness.
Tolerance Development: Over time, individuals may require higher doses to achieve the same therapeutic effects, heightening the risk of overdose.
Clonazepam Withdrawal Symptoms
Stopping clonazepam suddenly can lead to withdrawal symptoms, which can range from mild to severe. Common withdrawal symptoms include:
Insomnia
Irritability
Increased anxiety
Muscle cramps
Seizures (in severe cases)
For those seeking help, an Inpatient Treatment Program in Boston or an Aftercare Program in Boston can provide the structured support needed for safe detox and recovery.
Managing Clonazepam Side Effects Safely
For individuals prescribed clonazepam, open communication with healthcare providers is essential. Here are some tips:
Follow the Prescription: Take clonazepam exactly as prescribed to minimize the risk of side effects.
Avoid Alcohol and Other Substances: Combining clonazepam with alcohol or drugs can exacerbate side effects and increase the risk of dependency.
Monitor for Changes: Keep track of any new or worsening symptoms and report them promptly.
Seek Professional Help if Needed: Programs like an Outpatient Program in Boston or Addiction Therapy Programs in Boston offer guidance and support for managing medication concerns.

How Home Nurses Help Manage Complex Medication Schedules
Imagine an elderly parent recovering from surgery while also managing diabetes, high blood pressure, and arthritis. Each condition requires specific medications, some taken in the morning, others at night, some with food, and some on an empty stomach. Now imagine being responsible for organizing all this while juggling your own work and family life.
This is the daily reality for many families in the UAE. Fortunately, home nursing services in Dubai are playing a transformative role in simplifying the chaos that often surrounds complex medication regimens.

Why Complex Medication Schedules Are So Risky
According to the World Health Organization, medication errors cause harm to millions globally each year. In older adults, who often take multiple medications (a situation known as polypharmacy), the risk increases significantly.
Here's what makes medication management complex:
Different dosing times (some hourly, some daily, some weekly)
Specific administration instructions (with/without food, crushed or whole)
Potential drug-drug interactions
Over-the-counter supplements conflicting with prescriptions
Changing prescriptions after surgeries, infections, or doctor visits
When medication errors happen, like skipping a dose, taking it twice, or combining drugs that shouldn't be mixed, the results can range from mild side effects to serious hospitalizations.
That's where home care in Dubai steps in with skilled nursing support.
The Role of Home Nurses in Medication Management
1. Creating a Safe and Structured Routine
Home nurses begin by developing a personalized medication schedule that aligns with a physician's instructions. This schedule is then built into the patient's daily care routine—often documented and checked off in real-time.
For example, a home nursing services Dubai team might:
Use color-coded pill organizers for visual clarity
Administer insulin at exact intervals based on blood sugar monitoring
Manage pain medication post-surgery, adjusting doses with medical approval
2. Preventing Drug Interactions and Duplicates
Home nurses are trained to recognize which medications may conflict. They review new prescriptions for overlap or contraindications and work with the family doctor or pharmacist if adjustments are needed.
This oversight is critical, especially when multiple specialists are involved, and communication gaps arise.
3. Educating the Patient and Family
Rather than simply handing over pills, nurses explain why each medication is necessary, how it works, and what side effects to watch for. This empowers both patients and caregivers to be active participants in the care plan.
For instance, a nurse might explain why blood thinners must be taken consistently—or why a missed dose of an antibiotic can compromise recovery.
4. Monitoring for Side Effects or Ineffectiveness
Home nurses don't just administer medication; they observe how the patient responds. Whether it's signs of dizziness, allergic reactions, or symptoms not improving, nurses can flag these issues quickly.
This is particularly important for elderly patients or those with cognitive decline, who may not recognize or communicate adverse effects.
5. Providing Professional-Level Administration
For medications that require injections, IV infusions, or careful titration (e.g., insulin or pain pumps), home nurses deliver care with hospital-grade precision without the patient having to leave home.
In this way, home care in Dubai bridges the gap between clinical and personal care.
The Benefits for Families and Caregivers
When a professional nurse handles complex medication tasks:
Families gain peace of mind
Patients enjoy greater consistency and better health outcomes
Risks of overdose, missed doses, and hospital visits dramatically decrease
Emotional and decision-making burden on caregivers is lightened
It's more than convenience; it's critical safety delivered compassionately, right at home.
Closing Thought: A Smarter Way to Heal at Home
If you or a loved one is juggling a complicated medication routine, don't wait for a mistake to happen. Expert help is closer than you think.
With home nursing services Dubai, you gain more than just medication support; you gain a dedicated healthcare partner. Proper home care in Dubai can mean the difference between confusion and clarity, risk and recovery.
Quick Tip:
Ask your home nurse or agency if they offer a digital medication tracking sheet or mobile reminders; these tools make it even easier to stay on top of schedules with confidence.

Reflector Podcast: Stories About The Strange Experiences Of Being Human

The Reflector podcast describes itself as a "documentary-style podcast that tells stories about the strange experiences of being human. Our stories focus on how beliefs shape our world, on the context behind the messy debates in our society, and on how deeply listening to one another can reveal a sense of shared humanity. Our goal is to spark wonder, unveil complexity, and ignite curiosity."
Documentary style podcasts get carte blanche to go on a peripatetic journey through a cavalcade of subjects, issues, and societal problems.
When you look at the podcast's cover image, you quickly notice it's a visual metaphor for the show's thematic premise -- holding up a mirror to the human condition in all its complexity. The Reflector people want us to know: "We believe that there’s nothing more important to a culture than the stories that shape its values and sense of what’s possible. Reflector aims to report and tell stories that celebrate moral complexity and nuance."
"We merge meticulous reporting with compelling storytelling to illuminate the era's most urgent issues. By telling a gripping story with sincerity and even handedness, we hope to help people see beyond their biases and shore up the foundations of a pluralistic society."
The show's host -- and quite a good one -- is Andy Mills, who has a resume that can make even overachievers envious. Mills was a co-creator of The Daily at The New York Times and created, produced and edited several audio documentary series including Rabbit Hole, Caliphate and The Witch Trials of J.K. Rowling.

He was the director of new show development for the New York Times and a producer with NPR’s Radiolab.
Matthew Boll was a part of the original team at the podcast company Gimlet and part of the transition team after the company was acquired by Spotify. He helped create the series Crimetown, Conviction: American Panic, The Horror of Dolores Roach, and Duet. Recently he was a producer of The Witch Trials of J.K. Rowling. He won a Peabody for his work on the music of Uncivil.
Isn't there anyone mediocre on this podcast? Anyway, the podcast is a Rockwell production, which, I discovered, is a creative studio run by Andy Mills and Matthew Boll, dedicated to excellence in storytelling and innovative journalism.
Mill and Boll pronounce: "We believe that there’s nothing more important to a culture than the stories that shape its values and sense of what’s possible."
The show has a subscription model with the usual benefits to subscribing -- "full access to the show, extra episodes and material, and you’ll also be in contact with us, our growing team, and others who care about this stuff as much as you do."
What issues does this documentary-style cover?
The first episode -- released April 30, 2024 -- was superb, as the show tackled an underreported and misunderstood issue -- the treatment of alcoholism.
The episode setup is this: "Alcohol consumption increased more during the COVID-19 pandemic than it had at any time in the past 50 years. Even though bars were closed for weeks on end and fewer people were out on the road doing their daily commuting, Americans were drinking so much that from 2020 through 2021 there were approximately 178,000 alcohol-related deaths - which is more deaths than from all drug overdoses combined, including opioids."
On the episode, "Katie" tells the story of her self-experimentation with the drug Naltrexone to combat her alcohol addiction and helps listeners grapple with why such medications are so rarely used to help problem drinkers in America.
It's an important question, since the traditional abstinence treatment via AA has an apparent success rate of less than 10 percent.
Mills and Boll know how to tell a story and spin a narrative that catches listeners in its web. It's one of those episodes where, if you have an open mind (so many today do not!), you will finish the episode with a new perspective on alcoholism treatment. The show spent several episodes on election fraud misinformation, and then the August 29th show welcomed journalist, author, and lawyer Emily Bazelon of Slate's Political Gabfest. Bazelon, endlessly fascinating, who discussed gerrymandering, voter ID laws, growing distrust in institutions, with a debate the power of elites and whether we should all be worried about Election Day 2024.
Two exemplary episodes are ostensibly about author J.K. Rowling. In part one, author and journalist Helen Lewis guides listeners through the latest developments in women-only sports, women-only spaces, and youth transition medicine. The show explores the ways in which the United States is becoming more of an outlier, and how J.K. Rowling’s career has continued to thrive amidst the backlash against her.
In part two, the show dives into thoughts and criticism — of J.K. Rowling, and of the series the co-hosts made about her from three members of the trans community, each with a unique perspective. This includes two of listeners’ favorite guests from the original series: Natalie and Noah.
Check out Reflector. What I like about the show is its complexity. Conservative podcasts like Bongino, Levin, and Shapiro thrive because enemies are "outed" in every episode. The enemies are: The Deep State (?), Democrats, Progressives, and elites (excluding the billionaire elites who donate to Trump). Leave your prefrontal cortex on hold.
On Reflector, nuance, ambiguity, a wide-angle perspective, and finding common ground dominate the rhetorical landscape. Put on thinking caps and be prepared to have your confirmation bias challenged ad nauseam.

Do we believe everything we see?
Through my lens.................. (Sera Barbara 5.1A)

Intro
If you had to count, how many times have people manipulated you into believing something that you are not particularly fond of... how many times would you say it happened? Or maybe someone pulled a joke on you and you were so trusting that you did not even realize that people were actually pulling your leg?
The real question is, are you THAT easy to be messed with.. or are you too oblivious and trustful?
I find myself constantly being pushed into believing a bunch of information that I am being fed daily. In a blog about Over Consumption of Information, Oksana Tunikova mentioned that once you spend a long time consuming information through the web "you realize there’s so much data in your head that you can no longer think clearly." (Oksana 2018) The thing is that, people are receiving information through their screens 24/7. Therefore, if we had to join both of these points together we can conclude that considering that 67.1% of the world population today, are technology users, 5.45 BILLION people around the globe are in this "brain fog" state (Oksana 2018) ALL . THE . TIME.
She deconstructed the definition of the state of "Information Overload" saying that it is "feeling overwhelmed by the volume of information to the point at which one feels more confused than knowledgeable about a particular topic. Information overload can manifest itself as brain fog and difficulty making decisions." (Oksana 2018) Further on she mentions that this also brings anxiety.
Over consumption comes with mental health issues. In Tunikova's blog she mentions the concept of creating anxiety. "information overdose can also aggravate anxiety one is already feeling" (Oksana 2018) and it brings as well as lack of focus "When there is more information in our head than we can effectively process, our brain starts to rush from one idea to another". (Oksana 2018) It sort of feels like we are no longer in control of our emotions and maybe that is the goal through all of this. This makes sense with the artistic image above ^^. The lines going through the human's ears, eyes and mouth is no coincidence, all of these parts of the body work with the brain, "The brain integrates visual and auditory information to better understand its environment"(Drevitch 2024) Therefore everything that we see and hear all go through our brain and affect us in some way.
Does this all lead up to one meaning that we are being controlled by our own screens, the media and our entertainment? But supposedly if our emotions are being "controlled" what about our opinons? According to Incuta on a article called Inception: Social Media’s Influence On Your Opinion "Our digital interactions on social media platforms can sometimes be so immersive that it’s hard for us to differentiate a conscious thought from an unconscious inception" (Iuncta 2023).
Saying this is much easier than admitting that this is actually happening to us and its impact on us. The image below is the perfect example of the way we perceive this.
Conclusion
The way I interpret this is in this scenario. Imagine it; you're scrolling through Instagram and an image of a current ongoing war comes up, the post makes you empathize with the people going through the war and it makes you feel uneasy. You decide you don't want to continue feeling this way and scroll to another post that shows a cute kitten sleeping, making you think "this is so cute! okay, nothing is so bad after all".
What I am trying to say by this; by scrolling to another post it makes us feel as if that everything is fine once you scroll to another thing. But this constant run through, through good and bad news ends up making us accept EVERYTHING...leading up to the 10th word of this blog, MANIPULATION. If we start accepting even these small instances of doing nothing we end up being easy on bigger instances too, to the point that we don't have our own opinion and if we do have opinions they are based on what we see rather than what we think.
And maybe we are being controlled but, what for? Why should these constant scrolling sessions make us more accepting? I feel that there is something more to this than we know. We need to learn more how differentiate between reality and fantasy, lies and truths and most of all, real and fake.
But after all not all control is bad control. Who knows where this would lead us?
This is all based on perspective.
"the question of whether or not the media controls people is a complex one that depends on a variety of factors. While there are certainly examples of media manipulation and the potential for influence exists, it is ultimately up to individuals to critically evaluate the messages that they receive and make informed decisions." Common Questions About Psychedelic Light Therapy Answered
Psychedelic light therapy is an innovative approach to mental health and wellness that is garnering attention for its potential benefits. Utilizing light and sound to induce altered states of consciousness, this therapy offers a unique way to address various psychological issues, from anxiety and depression to trauma recovery. As this therapy gains popularity, many questions arise regarding its mechanisms, benefits, safety, and application. This article aims to answer some of the most common questions about psychedelic light therapy.
1. What is Psychedelic Light Therapy?
Pyschedelic light therapy Mississippi is a non-invasive treatment that employs specific light patterns and frequencies to alter the brain's state of consciousness. Unlike traditional psychedelics that involve the ingestion of substances like LSD or psilocybin, this therapy uses specially designed light devices to create visual stimuli that influence brainwave activity.
The therapy aims to induce deep states of relaxation and altered awareness, facilitating emotional healing and insight. By synchronizing brainwave patterns through light and sound, participants can access subconscious thoughts and feelings, often leading to transformative experiences.
2. How Does It Work?
The underlying mechanism of pyschedelic light therapy Mississippi is rooted in the principles of brainwave entrainment. This process involves using rhythmic stimuli, such as light flickering at specific frequencies, to synchronize brainwave patterns. The following brainwave patterns are commonly engaged during therapy:
Alpha Waves (8-12 Hz): Associated with relaxation and creativity.
Theta Waves (4-8 Hz): Linked to deep meditation and emotional processing.
Gamma Waves (30-100 Hz): Associated with heightened awareness and cognitive functioning.
When exposed to these light patterns, the brain can enter altered states similar to those induced by traditional psychedelics, allowing individuals to explore their thoughts and emotions in a new light. Participants may experience vivid visualizations, emotional release, and a sense of connectedness.
3. What Are the Benefits of Psychedelic Light Therapy?
Psychedelic light therapy offers a range of potential benefits, including:
Reduction of Anxiety and Depression: Many users report significant decreases in anxiety and depressive symptoms after sessions. The therapy provides a non-invasive means of accessing and processing difficult emotions.
Trauma Healing: The therapy can facilitate healing from trauma by allowing individuals to confront painful memories in a safe and controlled environment.
Enhanced Creativity: Participants often experience heightened creativity and problem-solving abilities, making it beneficial for artists and professionals seeking innovative solutions.
Stress Reduction: The therapy induces relaxation, helping individuals manage stress and improve overall well-being.
Improved Mindfulness: By promoting altered states of consciousness, psychedelic light therapy can enhance mindfulness and encourage a greater sense of presence in daily life.
4. Is Psychedelic Light Therapy Safe?
Psychedelic light therapy is generally considered safe, especially compared to traditional psychedelics. Since it does not involve the ingestion of any substances, the risk of adverse reactions or overdose is minimal. However, some individuals may experience mild discomfort or temporary disorientation during sessions.
Before participating in psychedelic light therapy, it's essential to consult with a qualified practitioner who can assess your mental health history and ensure that the therapy is appropriate for you. Individuals with certain conditions, such as severe epilepsy or light sensitivity disorders, should exercise caution and consult a healthcare professional before engaging in this therapy.
5. Who Can Benefit from Psychedelic Light Therapy?
Psychedelic light therapy may benefit a wide range of individuals, including:
Those Struggling with Mental Health Issues: Individuals experiencing anxiety, depression, PTSD, or other emotional difficulties may find relief through this therapy.
Creative Professionals: Artists, writers, and musicians seeking inspiration or creative breakthroughs may benefit from the enhanced cognitive flexibility associated with altered states.
Individuals Seeking Personal Growth: People interested in self-exploration and personal development can use this therapy to gain insights into their thoughts and emotions.
While many individuals may benefit, it’s crucial to approach this therapy with an open mind and a willingness to engage with one's emotional landscape.
6. What to Expect During a Session?
A typical psychedelic light therapy session lasts between 30 to 60 minutes. Participants usually sit or lie comfortably in a quiet, relaxed environment while a trained facilitator operates the light device.
Here’s what to expect during a session:
Initial Setup: After discussing intentions and any concerns, the facilitator will prepare the light device and ensure the environment is comfortable.
Session Commencement: Once the session begins, participants close their eyes and focus on the light patterns and accompanying sounds.
Experiencing Altered States: As the session progresses, participants may experience visualizations, emotions, or deep relaxation. This state can vary from person to person, with some experiencing profound insights and others enjoying a simple feeling of calm.
Post-Session Integration: After the session, participants are often encouraged to reflect on their experiences, either through journaling or discussing insights with the facilitator.
7. Can Psychedelic Light Therapy Be Used with Other Treatments?
Yes, psychedelic light therapy can be effectively integrated with other therapeutic modalities. Many practitioners combine it with traditional talk therapy, mindfulness practices, or sound therapy to enhance overall treatment outcomes.
For individuals already engaged in therapy, light therapy can provide additional insights and emotional processing, often complementing the work done in traditional counseling settings. It’s essential to communicate with both your therapist and the facilitator of the light therapy to create a comprehensive treatment plan.
8. Where Can You Find Psychedelic Light Therapy?
As interest in psychedelic light therapy grows, more wellness centers, holistic practices, and mental health facilities are beginning to offer it.
While availability may vary by region, you can typically find psychedelic light therapy services in:
Holistic Wellness Centers: Many centers focused on alternative therapies are beginning to include light therapy in their offerings.
Mental Health Clinics: Some mental health practitioners are exploring psychedelic light therapy as a complementary treatment for their patients.
Retreats and Workshops: Special retreats focused on mental wellness may provide psychedelic light therapy sessions in conjunction with other healing practices.
To find a qualified practitioner, research local wellness centers and read reviews or testimonials from previous clients. Ensure the practitioners have the necessary training and experience to guide you safely through the therapy.
9. What Research Exists on Psychedelic Light Therapy?
While psychedelic light therapy is a relatively new field, early research and anecdotal evidence suggest promising outcomes for individuals seeking alternative mental health treatments. Studies exploring brainwave entrainment and its effects on mental health indicate potential benefits in areas like stress reduction, creativity enhancement, and emotional processing.
As the field of psychedelic therapy continues to evolve, researchers are beginning to investigate the specific effects of light therapy in controlled studies. This ongoing research will help validate the therapeutic benefits of light therapy and further establish its role in mental health treatment.
10. How Can You Prepare for a Psychedelic Light Therapy Session?
Preparing for a psychedelic light therapy session can enhance your experience and increase the likelihood of positive outcomes. Here are some tips for preparation:
Set Clear Intentions: Reflect on what you hope to gain from the session. Setting clear intentions can guide your experience and help you process insights afterward.
Create a Comfortable Environment: Ensure you are in a safe and comfortable space during the session. Consider factors like lighting, noise, and temperature to make the experience as enjoyable as possible.
Be Open-Minded: Approach the session with an open mind and a willingness to explore your thoughts and emotions. Embrace whatever experiences arise, knowing that they can contribute to your personal growth.
Conclusion
Psychedelic light therapy presents an exciting opportunity for those seeking alternative mental health treatments. By utilizing light and sound to access altered states of consciousness, this therapy has the potential to address a range of psychological issues, foster emotional healing, and enhance creativity.
As interest in this innovative approach grows, it is crucial for individuals to research and understand its benefits, mechanisms, and safety considerations. With the right preparation and guidance, psychedelic light therapy can serve as a powerful tool for personal transformation and healing.

Paracetamol for Headache: An Effective and Safe Remedy
Headaches are a common ailment that can significantly impact daily life, ranging from mild discomfort to debilitating pain. One of the most widely used medications for headache relief is paracetamol, known as acetaminophen in some regions. This article explores the effectiveness, safety, and proper use of paracetamol for headache relief, providing you with all the information needed to manage this common condition effectively.
Understanding Paracetamol
Paracetamol is an over-the-counter medication widely recognized for its analgesic (pain-relieving) and antipyretic (fever-reducing) properties. Unlike nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs), paracetamol does not possess significant anti-inflammatory effects, making it a suitable option for those who need pain relief without the risk of stomach irritation associated with NSAIDs.
How Paracetamol Works
Paracetamol works by inhibiting the production of prostaglandins, chemicals in the body that promote inflammation, pain, and fever. By reducing the levels of these chemicals, paracetamol effectively alleviates headache pain, making it a go-to option for millions of people worldwide.
Benefits of Using Paracetamol for Headaches
Effectiveness: Paracetamol is highly effective in treating various types of headaches, including tension headaches and mild to moderate migraines.
Safety Profile: When used as directed, paracetamol is safe for most people, including children and the elderly. It is less likely to cause gastrointestinal issues compared to NSAIDs.
Accessibility: Available over the counter, paracetamol is easily accessible and affordable, making it a convenient option for headache relief.
Dosage and Administration
For adults, the typical dose of paracetamol for headache relief is 500mg to 1000mg every 4 to 6 hours, not exceeding 4000mg in a 24-hour period. For children, the dosage is based on weight and age, so it is crucial to follow the instructions provided by a healthcare professional or the medication packaging.
Safety Considerations
While paracetamol is generally safe, it is essential to use it responsibly to avoid potential risks:
Avoid Overdose: Exceeding the recommended dose can lead to severe liver damage. Always adhere to the dosage guidelines and avoid using multiple products containing paracetamol simultaneously.
Alcohol Consumption: Limit alcohol intake while using paracetamol, as alcohol can increase the risk of liver damage.
Pre-existing Conditions: Consult a healthcare provider before using paracetamol if you have liver disease or other significant health conditions.
When to Seek Medical Advice
While paracetamol is effective for many headaches, it is not a cure-all. Seek medical advice if:
Your headache persists despite using paracetamol.
You experience severe headaches that occur suddenly or are accompanied by other symptoms such as fever, neck stiffness, or visual changes.
You have a history of frequent headaches or migraines that impact your quality of life.
Conclusion
Paracetamol for headache relief is a safe, effective, and readily available option that can help manage the discomfort of headaches. By understanding its proper use and adhering to safety guidelines, you can effectively alleviate headache pain and improve your quality of life. Always consult with a healthcare professional if you have any concerns or questions about using paracetamol for headache relief.

Information about The Secret to a Potent IVERHEAL Supplement (12 mg)
The active ingredient in Iverheal 6mg is ivermectin. The ability of the drug to treat intestinal parasites is its most well-known benefit. If you have a stomach worm infection, you can take medication to see how it impacts the parasites’ growth and the problems they cause in the body.
Iverheal 12 mg uses
A doctor may prescribe Iverheal 12 mg for a variety of parasitic problems. The immune system is weakened and life expectancy is decreased when a parasite is found inside the body. This treatment’s main goal is to get rid of or immobilize internal parasites. The following sections address several common parasites that require treatment.
Onchocerciasis is the initial condition for which the drug is administered. The parasitic worm is stung by black flies and subsequently enters the body. This sickness manifests as two symptoms: slight visual impairment and itchy skin.
Strongyloidiasis is the next issue, which can result in excruciating stomach discomfort and a protracted diarrheal episode that can last for several days.
Scabies is the most common condition for which Where Can I Buy Ivermectin advice is given. The parasite mite that causes skin problems is known by the term Sarcoptes. Your skin may develop a range of red rashes as a result of this sickness.
How are the 12 mg Iverheal tablets supposed to be taken?
The medication is easy to give. Drink a glass of water in addition to taking your medication exactly as directed. There is only one requirement: the medication must be taken empty-handed. When taking multiple doses, it is recommended to take them at least an hour before meals; when taking only one, the first dose should be taken at the very least.
What is the mode of action of Iverheal 12 mg?
Ivermectin salt dissolves in your body and begins to act within a few minutes of ingesting 12 mg of Iverheal. The salt starts to look for parasites in the body as it dissolves and sticks to them. The medication mostly affects the neurons and muscle cells of the parasites. They either die from that or become paralyzed. The Ziverdo Kit and Ivermectin 12 mg once daily are the two components of quadruple therapy.
Their proliferation within the body is somehow inhibited and the immune system is triggered. Consequently, the body is able to fight against and get rid of dead parasites.
A variety
The dosage of the medication can be changed as needed. If you tell your doctor everything about your condition, they may ask for certain tests. They will want to know if you have any parasites in your system. The patient’s weight and age are taken into account while writing a prescription. Never skip a dose and always use caution, including food restrictions.
If you are going to miss a dosage, call your doctor right away. If someone told you to catch up on a missed dose, check the time on the clock. If a person’s next dose is fewer than 12 hours away, they forgo the drug. A medicine may be used by the patient for more than twelve hours.
You should not be concerned if you are symptom-free. However, drug overdoses can occasionally render a person unconscious. Contact poison control as soon as possible if you know someone who needs assistance. If you think you might miss a dosage, call your doctor right away. Do I Need To Have My Eyes Checked If I Have Headaches?

Do I Need To Have My Eyes Checked If I Have Headaches?
Headaches are a common complaint among both adults and children. The severity and frequency of headaches range from occasional to nearly daily. Headaches can be debilitating for some people, resulting in a lower quality of life.
Headaches can be caused by a variety of unexpected factors, such as an uncorrected vision problem.
If you are having frequent headaches, you must schedule an eye exam, even if it is just to rule out an eye issue as the cause. Not all headaches are caused by vision problems, and not all vision problems cause headaches, but there is considerable overlap between the two, and one must learn more about how eye problems are linked to headaches.
Various types of headaches
There are several types of headaches that can occur, including:1. Migraines 2. Cluster headaches 3. Sinus headaches 4. Tension headaches
Overdosing on certain medications, dehydration, and eye problems can all cause headaches.
Eye strain
Eye strain is one of the most common causes of headaches associated with eye problems. Overuse of the muscles involved in vision focus can cause eye strain and, as a result, headaches. Staring at a computer or phone screen for an extended period of time is a common cause of eye strain.
Typical eye strain symptoms include:1. Headaches 2. Watery eyes 3. Blurred vision 4. Sensitivity to light
Ocular migraines
Visual disturbances are caused by ocular migraines, which can occur with or without a headache.
Ocular migraine symptoms include:1. Headaches 2. See flashing lights 3. Severe eye pain 4. Blind spots in the field of vision
Astigmatism
Astigmatism occurs when the cornea is not properly shaped. It can impair vision and may cause squinting to help focus the eye. It can also cause headaches if left untreated.
Astigmatism symptoms may include:1. Distorted vision 2. Eye irritation 3. Problems seeing at night
Glaucoma
Glaucoma headaches are most commonly felt around the eyes or on the forehead. Glaucoma occurs when fluid accumulates in the eye, causing pressure to build up. The increased pressure damages the optic nerve, resulting in vision loss over time.
Most people do not have symptoms of glaucoma in the early stages, but when symptoms appear, they may include:1. Headaches 2. Seeing halos 3. Blurred vision 4. Eye pain
Cataracts
Cataracts develop when the eye's lens becomes clouded. It is most commonly caused by ageing. As cataracts form, the eye may have to work harder to see. As your eyes work harder, you may experience eye strain and headaches.
Cataract symptoms include:1. Headaches 2. Blurred vision 3. Fading of colors 4. Sensitivity to glare
A simple eye exam could save you from a headache!
If you suffer from frequent headaches, an eye exam is recommended, especially if it has been a year or two since your last exam. Even if you believe headaches have a specific cause, eye problems like eye strain can contribute to existing headaches. To reduce the risk of further headaches, it is also critical to treat underlying eye conditions as soon as possible.
Summary
Headaches may indicate that you have a vision problem, and on the other hand, other eye conditions may also cause a headache. As a result, if you have headaches and/or vision changes, you should see your doctor to rule out any serious medical conditions.

I actually have a correction to make to my Season 5 classifications first. In my season 5 outfit analysis, I grouped a two different green overshirts together under "solid green overshirt". In fact, they are two different green overshirts (slightly different shade, potentially different material blend, different collars), and both of them are actually striped green, not solid.
S5 Light green overshirt: 2, 4, 6 S5 Dark green overshirt: 3, 5, 7
This distinction actually means that S5 has 11 distinct outfits, I believe.
Season 6 sees 11 Unique outfits!
(14 Including flashback outfit, work uniform variation, and underclothes)
Gray thermal: 2, 5, 6
Black thermal: 1, 3, 6, 7
White tank top: 1, 2,
Black tank top: 4, 8
Light blue boxers: 1, 2
Blue work scrub: 3, 4,
Black mockneck T: 1
Black overshirt: 7
Brown overshirt: 1
Dark green overshirt: 1, 4, 6, 7, 8
Green/white grid: 5
Yellow/green grid: 2
Black/green button up: 8 (via flashback)
Hospital gown: 8
Pale gold figaro chain: 1-8
Crossover from season 5: Black thermal, black tanktop, white tanktop, black overshirt, black mockneck T, dark green overshirt, black/green button up T
For the final season, Chico continues his color scheme from last season, with the biggest visual change being his shaving of the signature goatee, and a further haircut. While we see him wearing a lot of the same styles as s5, we also see more of Chico wearing non daily clothes (under clothes, work scrubs, hospital gown). (For the purpose of outfit counts, I counted ed his scrubs in 6x04 as one outfit, but not 6x03). A minor evolution in Chico's style s6 is also the starting to wear long sleeve shirts under his short sleeve over shirts. This and the abandonment of his facial hair upkeep brings Chico away from some of the coordination and effort that was seen put into s5. After making the journey through s5, s6 sees Chico settle toward a more casual vibe, while remaining put together.
I feel his overdose could be an event that would change his choices again. Not to mention that the next/temp prison would probably not allow for freedom of clothing choice, but I think that upon returning to Oz, a post-canon Chico would probably continue with longer sleeves under short sleeves, for the comfort and security of extra layers. I think he might potentially also move away from black (masculine color) and embrace the neutral, laidback pallate of gray and green yellow such as in 6x03 (reflecting a turning over of a new leaf if that's a route he takes in his recovery), or else completely lean into all black on black as seen in 6x07 (to boost his own confidence and create a strong impression) and incorporate some muddy blues, dark grays, or dress more like other member of El Norte, depending on what's going on with the group… in the hypothetical.
Final Thoughts
My personal top 5 favorite Chico looks:
(sorry s3.. you don't get anything)
Starting a new dumb project called Tracking Chico's Wardrobe Shift
S2 sees 6 unique outfits:

The inmate number on his shirt in episode 4 is not the same number that is read by a hack during count in episode 7; the latter is the same number that ultimately is read during his crime flashback
The same plaid shirt/white tanktop appears in episode 6 and 7
The same green shirt/yellow tanktop appears in episode 6 and 8
4 unique bandanas: brown, red, navy, and indigo/purple
At one point in episode 6, Chico removes the overshirt while doing arm curls

Medusa(Ebb)
There's an overdose. It's all too much.
Thank god she wouldn't have to keep it for too long.
It started off innocent like most things do. There was an excess of visual imagery out there. She consumed without a care in the world. Blood and gore, pain and violence. She reviled it, but how does one escape the news? Her friend will refer to an incident from today seeming flush with all the violence and she had to get it to maintain her status quo.
The company advertises it as a painless extractor for images. It doesn't affect nostalgia, you get a strange sense of déjà vu. The imagery has been stripped away but the memories remained intact. She has had one for as long as she can remember.
Maybe, even her parents owned an older model. Those weird blobby figures from her childhood. It's supposed to be painless. It's not supposed to remove memory. But why does she now feel a lump rising in her throat at the thought of her daily dumps? It can't take memories, can it? She'll surely remember if it was that painful. She WOULD!
Wait. Her hand! She doesn't remember getting a phantom limb!
She looked on in horror as the pale transmissive material flickered. But her legs won't stop. As if they had a mind of their own. GOD did patent the OS.
It was time. They weren't wrong after all. It's a painless process, if you can't remember the pain.

2 AM Healing [Part 2 of ‘2 PM Suffering’]
warnings: explicit language, consumption of alcohol and medication, suggested attempted suicide (overdosing on pills and alcohol), anxiety
era: April 2021
❀ Things seem to take a big turn after Taeyong and Doyoung go check up on JiHo
“Wah~~ I can’t wait to get in my bed.” Haechan sighed dramatically as the 4 boys from the 5th floor were waiting on Taeyong to open the door.
The shoot had dragged on for a while, along with some other schedules and now it was a little after 2 at night. Johnny and Haechan had been whining about how tired they were and couldn’t wait to sleep. “At least take a shower first Haechan, you stink.” The older of the two snickered, earning a shocked expression from the smaller boy. “Hey! I don’t-”
“It’s past midnight and we have neighbours. Be quiet already.” Doyoung sounded annoyed which had the two boys shut up quickly. “And you, why are you taking so long.” Doyoung rolled his eyes at the leader who had yet to open the door. Taeyong rolled his eyes as well at the attitude of Doyoung and before he could say anything else, Taeyong pushed the door open.
Meanwhile, inside the dorm, JiHo had curled up into Xiaojun’s side. She had been sleeping for close to 12 hours straight now, the severity of her exhaustion very clear to Xiaojun. The only time JiHo had woken up, was when Xiaojun had gotten up to clean up the food he dropped when first entering her room. He quickly cleaned and went to the bathroom before joining a whiny JiHo back in her bed. He had sung a few more songs for her and decided to go to sleep as well after she had comfortably slotted her body into his side.
Completely forgetting that he had to send updates to Doyoung, Taeyong, or at least Kun about JiHo - partly because his phone was out of battery and otherwise because he physically couldn’t move because of JiHo’s deadly grip on him - he drifted off into his own dream world and hadn’t woken up since.
As the residents of the dorm arrived the first place Doyoung went to was JiHo’s room. His hand had barely made contact with the door handle when Taeyong stopped him from entering. “Is this a good idea? JiHo’s probably sleeping at this time.” Doyoung scoffed at the comment. “We haven’t heard from her since we left, for all we know she’s dead in there and you’re not even going to check.” “Kun said Xiaojun-” “Well Xiaojun hasn’t picked up his fucking phone once!”
The leader hadn’t seen Doyoung this mad before. He knew he was only worried about JiHo, so he could excuse his anger completely. Yet despite that, Taeyong was still taken aback by the amount of poison was spilling from the black-haired man’s lips. “Okay, let’s check.”
Doyoung softly pushed the door open, such a contrast to his earlier tense body language. Upon opening the door the light which came from the hallway illuminated the room, revealing how messy it was.
JiHo wasn’t the tidiest member when it came to her own room, but the visual Doyoung and Taeyong were met with was quite shocking. Pillows and blankets seemed to be thrown off the bed and even to the other side of the room. But among all the mess a certain few items had caught Doyoung’s eye.
Rather confused as to why Doyoung wasn’t commenting on Xiaojun and JiHo comfortably - a bit too comfortable to Taeyong’s liking - sleeping on her bed, Taeyong eyed his dorm mate closely. He watched as Doyoung reached out to a small white container, one he wasn’t familiar with.
Suddenly Doyoung let out a chuckle. Not a friendly-sounding one though. Not friendly at all. “What’s this?!” He suddenly yelled which startled not only Taeyong but also the two sleeping friends. Xiaojun jumped up from beside JiHo as he saw the two older members watching them.
“Doyoung hyung-” “Pills and alcohol?” He sighed in disbelief. JiHo was still laying down in bed, her eyes squinted as she tried not to strain them. “Lim JiHo? Please tell me you didn’t drink.” When JiHo only fell back down in her spot from her previous hoisted up position Doyoung already knew the answer.
He turned to Xiaojun, who was wide-eyed, seemingly terrified about the way he was woken up. “You know how dangerous this is?” Doyoung shook the pill bottle in front of the younger boy’s eyes. “Why didn’t you answer your damn phone?! If you found JiHo drinking and taking pills you should’ve taken her to the hospital!” “I told him I was fine.” The girl mumbled from where she had buried her face into her pillow. “Of course you would tell him that!”
“Or did you give these to her? JiHo normally doesn’t drink or take medication. So did you?” Xiaojun frantically shook his head. He’d never do such a thing and the fact his hyung thought he would, made him feel cornered, not being able to defend himself.
Doyoung’s chest heaved and so many thoughts crossed his mind. “Let’s calm down for a bit okay?” Taeyong carefully took a step closer to the two boys and placed a hand on Doyoung’s shoulder. “Calm down? This kid didn’t do anything after knowing JiHo mixed alcohol and pills and afterwards climbed into bed with her!” “That’s enough!” Johnny yelled from the doorway. “I’m just stating the facts!” “GET OUT!” A higher-pitched yell resonated through the room, followed by a few painful coughs.
All eyes were on JiHo’s heaving figure, as the boys were afraid to say or do anything. Everyone but one. “JiHo-” “Doyoung can you shut up for one goddamn second?!” JiHo yelled, sounding so desperate. “I’m just trying to help.” “You’re not only worsening my headache, but you are also chewing out my friend who has been taking care of me while I was alone. Xiaojun did nothing wrong, so let him be.”
A few seconds of silence followed before Doyoung approached his younger friend. “I’m sorry I wasn’t here, but he shouldn’t have let you sit here after taking those pills and drinking. You know how bad this could’ve ended-” “For God’s sake, oppa you don’t get it. You weren’t here, so you don’t know what happened.” She groaned in defeat. Doyoung’s stubbornness wasn’t helping her growing headache, the one she had been able to forget due to her hours of sleep.
“I don’t have to be here to know that mixing these is bad!” “Can you stop?” “Do you want to die?” “YES!” JiHo stood up from her position, staring directly into Doyoung’s eyes with watery eyes. Everyone in the room collectively gasped at the youngest’s answer. Haechan who had joined after hearing the commotion felt his eyes fill with tears as well.
JiHo gulped as she felt the crop in her throat forming and blocking her airways. The two best friends just stared into each other’s eyes not knowing what to say. Doyoung was still processing what had just been said and JiHo was going over all the ways to explain herself, but she couldn’t find the right words.
“Is that why you took these?” Taeyong reached out to grab the bottle from Doyoung’s grip. His question caused the girl to break eye contact with Doyoung and she immediately shook her head. “No. I never thought- That wasn’t my intention. I didn’t even know this was alcohol. I didn’t mean it.” Her voice trailed off.
“How could you say something like that?” Doyoung’s voice was dangerously low and it scared JiHo. “I didn’t mean to. I promise I didn’t.” Doyoung just shook his head in disbelief before facing Xiaojun. In just a split second he had grabbed onto the collar of Xiaojun’s shirt and pushed him against the wall.
“Why didn’t you do anything?!” Doyoung’s voice quivered, tears already threatening to fall. “Why didn’t you take her to a hospital?” Doyoung lifted his right hand, balled into a fist. At the sight, the two older members rushed towards him. Johnny and Taeyong pulled back the yelling man, preventing him from potentially hurting Xiaojun. “WHY DIDN’T YOU CALL ANYONE?!” Doyoung had completely lost it. Tears streamed down his face as he felt the great amount of guilt take over him. If only he had been there with JiHo instead of Xiaojun, that’s what he thought.
All the members stood there wordlessly as Doyoung continued to sob. Haechan crying silently in the doorway and the other members being completely lost.
Not being able to take it anymore, knowing that her members were making assumptions in their heads about why she took those pills, JiHo decided to explain the whole situation. From why she took the pills and drank the alcoholic beverage, to how Xiaojun had ended up sleeping next to her and why he hadn’t messaged anyone.
“The alcohol helped my anxiety and the pills helped my headache for a split second before it came back worse. I didn’t take many, I’m fine.” “How can tell us you’re fine when you’re suffering like this. Alone.” Doyoung stood up from where he fell to his knees earlier. The sobbing had stopped, but he was still very emotional. “Because I didn’t want to worry you guys, I’m already being a big inconvenience.” The girl explained sadly.
“You’re not an inconvenience to us JiHo.” Johnny said. JiHo just sighed, thinking of how the boys weren’t allowed to talk to her publicly, how they had to be careful around her afraid to ask something she couldn’t talk about, how they always worried about her even if she told them they shouldn’t. No matter what the boys said, JiHo felt like such a burden these past weeks.
JiHo fell back down into her bed and pulled her knees to her chest. “I didn’t mean it when I said I wanted to die. That wasn’t why I took the pills. I haven’t slept in days because of these headaches and I was desperate to get some sleep. I didn’t even know that juice was alcoholic, but it helped me calm down. It was the first time in days I started to feel a bit more relaxed. It’s not that I want to die. It’s just that, some days, I rather feel nothing than feel the shitty way I’m feeling almost daily.”
Haechan who had been standing in the same spot this entire time walked up to JiHo and sat down next to her, pulling her into his side. “You should’ve just told us.” He watched as his tears fell onto JiHo’s shoulder and got absorbed by her grey tee.
“We can’t help you if you don’t talk to us.” Taeyong had grabbed her hand and let his thumb draw random patterns on the back of her hand. JiHo nodded, wordlessly telling him she understood.
Doyoung cleared his throat causing everyone to look at him. “I’m sorry Xiaojun. I shouldn’t have yelled at you like that. You were only taking care of JiHo.” “Hyung, it’s okay.” Xiaojun directly said, but Doyoung shook his head. “No, it’s not okay. I acted and said things before I thought and I didn’t even hear you guys out. I’m also sorry towards you JiHo.” JiHo just nodded in acceptance of the apology.
He then settled down on the bed next to JiHo. “Please stop keeping things like this to yourself. I know you might not like talking to us about it and I know with the way I acted right now, that you might never want to talk to me about these kinds of things first. But if you’re ever suffering like this, you can talk to any one of the boys okay? So if you don’t want to talk to me.” Doyoung turned to face Xiaojun. “ I completely trust Xiaojun to listen to you and be able to take care of you.” Xiaojun nodded firmly which caused JiHo to smile.
As JiHo felt the love of her members intensify, she let herself melt into Haechan’s embrace, feeling her headache subside until it was almost gone. Johnny pulled Xiaojun in a side hug to comfort him after all the commotion that went on. Suddenly JiHo noticed something in the doorway. A head of hair seemingly floating from one side of the door. “Mark?”
At the mention of his name Mark popped his head from behind the wall, the boy wide-eyed. “What are you?” “Haechan messaged us saying Doyoung and Xiaojun were fighting.” Yuta explained as he unexpectedly walked into the room. Doyoung and Taeyong both glared at Haechan, disappointed that he felt the need to make the other members worry. “I’m sorry, I panicked.” The boy pouted which caused the older two to soften.
After Yuta had walked in, Mark, Jungwoo, Taeil and Jaehyun followed. “How long have you guys been out there?” JiHo asked worried, hoping they hadn’t picked up on everything that happened. “A few minutes.” Jungwoo smiled sadly and the girl sighed. “Listen, Doyoung is right. You have 23 guys ready to hear you out. Don’t be afraid to talk to us.” Taeil sat down on the bed. JiHo nodded and looked around the room meeting all the boys’ eyes and seeing the amount of love and care in them. “Thank you guys.”
“Group hug!” Haechan yelled to which both Yuta and Jungwoo repeated the words and suddenly JiHo was suffocating because of the 10 guys who had thrown themselves on top of her. Luckily her bed was just a thick mattress on the floor or otherwise it had broken for sure.
And even though she could barely breathe beneath the pressure of 10 bodies on top of her, she basked in the love she was receiving and felt all her stress and anxiety leave her body for once. For once she knew for certain that she was going to have fewer sleepless nights ahead of her.

Common Questions About Psychedelic Light Therapy Answered

DIGGING UP THE MARROW (2014)

Butt-Numb-a-Thon, at least until 2017, was an Austin institution. The 24-hour movie marathon, held at the Alamo Drafthouse, was established in 1999 by Ain’t-It-Cool News creator and noted sexual miscreant, Harry Knowles, for the most narcissistic of purposes: as a birthday party. Despite this, the invite-only film festival had hosted a number of highly-coveted world premiere screenings, including: The Lord of the Rings trilogy, Magnolia, Knocked Up, V for Vendetta, 300, Kingsman: The Secret Service, Chicago, Dreamgirls, and The Passion of the Christ.
Adam Green, the horror filmmaker best known for the slasher series Hatchet, premiered his thriller Frozen at BNAT before it wowed Sundance. By 2013, Green was an established filmmaker, and he had a film he was just dying to audience test—a strange genre hybrid called Digging Up the Marrow. After running the rough cut by some of his more critical friends in the filmmaking community, Green sent the film to Knowles for consideration.
Knowles jumped on the film after watching the cut, which was little more than edited dailies that only included temporary sound and score, and zero visual effects work. Green was stoked. The audience at BNAT was not a typical one; it was a cross-section of the film critic community. Some were genre junkies, others not so much. If he was to finish this film, he wanted their blessing. And Knowles gave him the best opportunity, slotting Digging Up the Marrow at 6am. If the film played well, Green would know it wasn’t hype—that feeling would be in short supply by 6am after a night including the world premieres of The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug and The Wolf of Wall Street.
Any filmmaker would have been amped and nervous to have their film play for the first time at BNAT. However, Green was especially nervous. Digging Up the Marrow wasn’t any film to him; it was a personal project, one in which he had more than money and time and sweat invested.

The origin of Marrow dates back to 2010, shortly after Frozen’s premiere at Sundance. The film’s reception had his team ready to start a new project. They wanted to do something low-budget and very indie. The idea that eventually turned into Marrow arrived as a curious package from a die-hard fan. In it, this fan had curated a bunch of documents, photos, and maps to prove to Green that Victor Crowley, the slasher killer of Hatchet, was a real person, and that Hatchet had gotten his story all wrong. The maps and photos of swamps detailed all sorts of errors within the movie. Normal filmmakers might be terrified by this level of obsession, but not Green. He was inspired by the level of commitment and suggested heading to the swamplands with a skeleton crew to document this fan taking them on a tour to prove the “truth” about Crowley. As cool as the idea sounded, Green’s partners changed his mind by pointing out that with Hatchet II on the way in seven months, it might not be a good idea putting additional content on the market. Besides, who the hell knew if this fan was only trolling them or was a bona fide looney who might leave their bodies in a swamp, Crowley-style.
So, Green abandoned the idea. It would resurface about a week later as he flipped through a pamphlet given to him by a fan during a long day of signing autographs at a Los Angeles Fangoria convention. The fan hadn’t shared his name, but as Green looked over the pamphlet, the fan’s identity dawned on him. The pamphlet was for an art exhibit called lDigging Up the Marrow,” by acclaimed horror artist Alex Pardee. Fireworks went off once he realized the fan who gave it to him was Pardee himself! Pardee had built a reputation for creating horrific storytelling art exhibits. In “Marrow,” Pardee is commissioned by a Boston police detective named William Dekker to paint the real monsters he claimed to see while on the job. Green wanted to adapt this idea, but with a twist that in addition to Pardee, he would also be asked to capture the monsters on film. After meeting with Pardee, Green wrote the script within 3 months, and the film was ready to begin production.
Green told the expectant horror press that he was making an “art documentary” which made them immediately seek other stories for clickbait. He cast all the actors to feature as themselves, except for veteran character actor, Ray Wise. Wise had reached out to him on the strength of Green’s segment in a film anthology called Chillerama, wanting to work with him. After showing Wise the script, the actor signed up to play Dekker. The film was shot in Green’s offices, his editor’s basement, and on the property of a family in Santa Clarita who almost didn’t agree to let the production use their land for a cemetery set until the owner learned Green had directed Frozen. The decision was made early to create all of the monsters as practical effects, sculpting directly from Pardee’s art. Not exactly an easy process, namely because of the nature of Pardee’s art, which doesn’t adhere to the conventions of basic anatomy. Pardee put it like this: “I like imagining things I haven’t seen. If it’s a shape, if it’s a color, if it’s a tooth, if it’s a type of hand, if it’s a monster, if it’s a car . . . I like the way things shouldn’t be. I think that’s where the inspiration draws from. How can I make this . . . not.”

The production of Digging Up the Marrow went as well as anyone could have hoped. But things took a turn for the worst as post-production ramped up. Three months into the finishing process of the movie, one of the actors—and one of Green’s best friends—Dave Brockie, died of a heroin overdose. Brockie was best known as Oderus Urungus, the insane lead singer of heavy metal band GWAR. Devastated, Green had to be talked out of removing the footage of Brockie, which showed the singer in full GWAR costume, shouting “I am a monster, I’ve always been a monster, and after I’m dead I’ll be a dead monster!” Perfect for the movie, but not for Green’s heart. The thought of leaving the moment in wrecked him, but eventually he left it, if only for the sake of Brockie’s fanbase, whom he thought deserved to see Brockie’s final screen performance.
However, Brockie’s death was only the opening salvo. Three weeks after his death, Green’s wife filed for divorce and the couple separated. Like Brockie, she was also in the film, sharing a bed with Green and even sharing an on-screen kiss. Removing her was also the first thing on Green’s mind, but his team again had to stop him because of what losing her four minutes of screen time would do to their budget and story.
So Green suffered the heartache of editing and directing post-production by watching images of his dead friend and ex-wife over and over as his team constructed a rough cut of the film. He believed in the movie, though, and wanted to finish it. His filmmaking friends thought he was on to something with this one, too, and BNAT was the final hurdle.

Digging Up the Marrow was well-received by the BNAT audience, despite its 6am showtime. After the screening, Green knew he had something once he overheard people theorizing about his movie during the intermission. They were tossing out ideas about the Marrow, and speculating about Dekker’s life. This was the green light he needed.
Green finished Digging Up the Marrow and in late 2014 decided to circumvent the problems with film distributors—namely that they seldom turn a profit on indie features—by taking the movie on the road. Similar to Kevin Smith’s tour of Red State in 2011, Green and Pardee took the movie and Pardee’s art exhibit to five cities—Los Angeles, San Francisco, Boston, New York, and Austin. Press coverage was strong and audience reception overwhelmingly positive. The film turned a profit, and eventually Green put it to rest and moved on with his life.
Digging Up the Marrow is the best kind of indie film—it comes from something real, takes the energies of a ragtag crew of obsessives, and ultimately finds its audience among similar obsessives. Even if your take on the film is negative, Adam Green’s work is inspiring, if only for how he got it from script to a 6am screening for a bunch of numb butts.
