2000AD's THOUGHT BUBBLE TALENT CONTEST WINNERS 2022
Was amazed and amused to find out that contestants in this year's 2000AD Art Contest at the UK's Thought Bubble convention had been given one of my scripts to draw! That's incredibly cool and flattering, though I have to say I didn't envy them: that was a tough script to draw -- and maybe that's why it was chosen. If they could illustrate that then they probably had the Right Stuff and could tackle most things Tharg might chuck at them!
"And this year, entrants for the art competition had to draw pages from writer Kek-W’s Tharg’s Terror Tales: Music Of The Spheres, originally drawn by Dan Cornwell. After getting through a HUGE line of would-be contestants, Matt Smith chose seven entries to go forward to the judging panel on the Sunday."
Not to be a pedant, but a slight correction here: the original artist was Warren Pleece, not Dan Cornwell -- though I've worked with Dan in the past too. Both amazingly talented guys!
Great work from all the contest entrants -- congrats to the winner! -- My hope is that the runners-up stick at it and keep drawing whether they end up becoming Pros or not. :-)

Finished Sharpe's Gold and, yeah, big time WTF
Sharpe's Battle, however, well, let's just say certain characters weren't the only ones crying by the end. Good lord. For once Cornwell was kinder to the characters than the show writers. "Dan! A tune, Dan!" (If you know you know) @theancientvaleofsoulmaking sure hope those "thoughts and prayers" extended to this one, too! :p XD
If anyone needs me, I'll be crying myself to sleep now (I'm actually ok)
