Recently, a makeup YouTuber I follow responded to a poorly designed Pride eyeshadow palette, where the company behind it wasn't donating a damn thing to important orgs. They basically said "oh come on, just call us [f slur] already, because this is basically just the equivalent, it's such an insulting attempt at representation." The company had to be pressured into donating to the ACLU. Which is still a weak choice.

This is pretty much that but for Tumblr.

Totally unrelated to anything on this blog, the Danessa Myricks Yummy Skin Blurring Balm Powder is a PHENOMENAL product. I’ve never had a better makeup base in my life. It didn’t budge, it covered what I needed to cover, and went on like a dream. I was influenced and I will never be the same!

Met Gala is tonight and so far:

- Aaron nor Yseult hasn’t been spotted, despite appearing in the Vogue Met Gala issue. Still believe they’re going, just they’re hiding.

- Wisdm Kaye not being invited, but they made sure to invite people who have said nigga/appropriate our culture just to throw the way when they wanna go back to their original identity to it.

- Zendaya hasn’t been spotted which I’m gonna assume it’s because she’s filming (which is likely the same for Aaron).

- RuPaul not being invited would be annoying as hell because he loves himself a good suit when he’s not doing drag.

- Hoping Raye is going as she’s been awfully quiet lately. I think it’s because she’s making that new album, but I have a feeling she is going.

- We now know Solange is going with Julez, but damn, I hate that Beyonce started her fucking tour at the same time because I doubt she’s on a plane right now to attend. But I’m not counting her out either.

- Have a curious feeling that Denzel Washington is going because we all know Spike Lee is going and they’re going to reference Malcolm X’s Red era as Spike already did that in the Vogue issue.

- I don’t think somebody non-black is gonna come in wearing a black hairstyle or something like outrageously offensive to us, but I’m not counting it out either because hello…… you know people do not read the room well.

- I do feel like a lot of black couples are about to make their debuts, but for one of the those everyone is predicting, I think it’s gonna be the opposite as the person is gonna go with someone else instead of who they’re thinking of.

- Rihanna is definitely announcing that pregnancy on the carpet.

- I wonder if Janelle Monae and Kaytranada it’s going because I know the latter is in New York.

- Manifesting so bad that Kelela is making her debut tonight because even though she wears like different types of outfits, I feel like she will eat this theme up so bad.

- Would be nice if Wunmi and Jayme were attending, but we had to wait a long time for that day to happen since Michael is probably gonna be the only cast member going. Unless Miles is his +1.

- Really hoping we see a lot of LGBTQ+ black members tonight as they will eat this theme up.

- Have an awful feeling that someone invited #them all because of the memes of how he dresses up like he’s still in the civil rights movement and if that happens, I’m going to be very upset. Or worse: there’s someone’s +2.

- Just hoping it’s mostly Black people we see because how do you have a black theme and not invite so many Black people is kind of insane to me, but this is their decision, not mine!

- Kendrick and SZA could’ve moved their tour date to a different one instead of today, but you know it’s OK. We’ll get their asses next time.

- and I need the black models hairs to be great because you know these motherfuckers like to play their face when it comes to doing them. (Except one because why are you even coming know when you are connected to two cases…)

Overall, I’m excited and hopefully I’m wrong about two of these, but right about the rest!

IRL Sixsona Designs Pt. 2: Makeup Edition

Hey y'all! This is second in a series of a few extra sixsona posts that @lightleckrereins and I are doing this week. The first post is here, showing the real-life vinyl inspirations we used!

This time around, I'm doing yet another hypothetical: what makeup would be used for each sixsona design!! My list of makeup recommendations for Six cosplayers is probably the post I'm second-most proud of (after sixsonas ofc). When I was initially working on that I kept seeing makeup that would be perfect for some of our sixsona designs, so because I have absolutely zero chill of course I had to figure out the full makeup plots for each.

The basic rules were - one glitter - one eyeshadow palette - and two additional products to fill in any gaps, as needed (this included fun stuff like an extra glitter or liquid liner, but also practical things like additional eyeshadow shades when needed or a liquid base for more sheer colors)
