«sorry anon 😭 I couldn't get to answer this before - I don't know where you stand on my mike answers post but like....let's forget about that and talk about Trevor Dunn also playing on that album??? I didn't know that?!?! I should listen to Not Your Girl again to see if I can pick him up a little more....
(I'm going through a time right now answering anon asks, but like...I kinda do want to talk about Trevor a bit more...lol....though ya, I know that poor guy has already had his day in the tumblr meat grinder....fuckn.....twice even!!!)»
It's okay, you must have had a rough days. I've read all your drama, and I don't know what to think about it yet. But anyway, I'd rather talk about Trevor's gay side than Mike's. Trevor's always seemed more gay to me. And I remember when he was on tour with Melvins 51/51(2012) Buzz was always telling everyone that Trevor was gay and making a lot of gay jokes about him. Maybe of course it has to do with Trevor being so funny and effeminate. But he wore a damn dress, he was called a porno princess and the lyrics he wrote for Mr. Bungle seem so gay to me. And Trey also said that Trevor's lyrics that he wrote when he was 16 sound like they were written by someone with a sexual disorders. And Danny Heifetz joked something about Trevor's queer voice in an interview. And I'm just falling over laughing. This guy is really cute and so funny. And he's so secretive. I remember when he was asked on his website about his sexual orientation and he said something like "none of your damn business".
Talk about a guy who is (maybe) a mystery to himself.
There is a part of my brain that is like: what makes lyrics gay? Care to expand on that?
I don't know where you fall on the Trevor's pronouns/gender conversation that was happening earlier this year, but I am inclined to say that all the "gay and queer" talk around Trevor is more a gender thing than a sexuality thing. Or at the very least, his own sexuality may be first tied up in his gender. I also wonder if he's secretive about it bc it would take the whole interview to explain it....

Ravens News 9/9: Patchwork Experiment
The Chiefs Look Ready to Three-peat—and the Ravens Look a Toe Out of Sorts Danny Heifetz, The Ringer Baltimore was unable to block Kansas City. The Ravens lost an AFC-high 15 free agents this offseason, and it showed, especially on the offensive line. Right tackle Morgan Moses and both starting guards, Kevin Zeitler and John Simpson, are gone. And in the first half alone on Thursday, three…

Spotify’s The Ringer Announces Summer Ringer Residency In LA
Tumblr media
Before COVID, podcasts were generating significant interest in live events. For example, Slate had its Slate Day in Manhattan a few years ago with multiple podcasts being recorded with a live audience, as have other networks. There is On Air Fest in multiple locations. Live podcasting events are good for the industry as a whole. To continue that trend, Spotify’s The Ringer has announced that tickets are now on sale for a “Ringer Residency” taking place this summer at the El Rey Theatre in Los Angeles, from Tuesday, June 18th through Tuesday, July 30th. A variety of Ringer shows will be featured for live podcast recordings, including The Ringer NBA Show (June 18th), Talk the Thrones (June 25th), The Big Picture (July 9th), The Ringer-Verse (July 17th), Wrighty’s House (July 26th) and The Ringer Fantasy Football Show(July 30th).
“We're thrilled to bring our shows to live audiences in L.A. this summer," said Sean Fennessey, Head of Content for The Ringer and host of The Big Picture, "to continue the great work of turning all the parasocial relationships listeners have formed with our hosts into real-world social relationships."
For more information, please visit theringer.com/events.
Here is a description of each show’s individual programming are as follows:
The Ringer NBA Show: The Ringer NBA squad provides insight and analysis every NBA fan needs. Come kick off the Ringer Residency on June 18thwith Group Chat hosts Justin Verrier, Wosny Lambre, Rob Mahoney, and special guests to hear their thoughts on the NBA Finals, the upcoming draft, and much more. General admission. Fully seated. All ages.
Talk the Thrones: Mallory Rubin, Joanna Robinson and Chris Ryan head back to Westeros to bring you Talk the Thrones live. Join our trio of dragon riders as they discuss “House of the Dragon” Season 2. General admission. Fully seated. All ages.
The Big Picture: Join The Ringer's Sean Fennessey and Amanda Dobbins for a live recording of their podcast, The Big Picture, as they discuss movies you need to see, alongside special guest and Ringer colleague Chris Ryan. General admission. Fully seated. All ages.
The Ringer-Verse: Join The Ringer-Verse crew for a night of all things nerd culture and fandom. The Ringer's expert superfans will hit the stage to converse about your favorite shows and movies happening this summer. General admission. Fully seated. All ages.
Wrighty's House: Join former Arsenal and England National Team striker Ian Wright for a live edition of his Ringer podcast, Wrighty's House, where he discusses the latest football headlines, as well as his cultural passions. General admission. Fully seated. 18+ only.
The Ringer Fantasy Football Show: Join The Ringer's fantasy football experts Danny Heifetz, Danny Kelly and Craig Horlbeck for a live recording of The Ringer Fantasy Football Show. The guys will talk training camp, fantasy football drafts and sleepers. Plus, they’ll read some emails and probably have dumb arguments after Heifetz inevitably mispronounces a word live on stage. General admission. Fully seated. All ages.
The Ringer, launched by Bill Simmons in 2016 and acquired by Spotify in 2020, is a website, podcast network and video production house creating a blend of sports, pop culture, politics and tech content.
One of the most popular sportswriters on ESPN, Simmons at times had tense and public battles with ESPN about creative freedom and censorship during his time there.
Simmons has also been the subject of a New York Times investigation in 2021 that published accusations about The Ringer′s workplace culture. It included accusations that Simmons had tried to marginalize The Ringer′s newly formed union, through tactics such as bringing in contract workers and unfollowing writers on Twitter who had expressed support for the union.
Simmons has also been embroiled in various controversies, ranging from cursing an NBA player to a recent mini-feud with ESPN host Pat McAfee over...who the hell knows...wounded male egos.
The Ringer Podcast Network includes over 50 podcasts, featuring The Bill Simmons Podcast, and The Rewatchables, among many others. Ringer Films, launched in 2018, produces long and short-form non-scripted programming, including critically acclaimed HBO documentaries André the Giant, Showbiz Kids, and Music Box, a collection of documentary films that explore pivotal moments in the music world.
