Okay Leigh Bardugo fans:
Leigh said she’s announcing her new book this month. Are we thinking it’s the final Alex Stern or something else? I feel like it’s gotta be the last Alex Stern so what do we think it’s gonna be called? It’s probably going to follow the one-syllable-two word titles of the first two… I feel like it’s going to relate to Alex’s heritage… something like Raise Night. It’s almost definitely not that but it’s all I got. Share your ideas if you have any⬇️⬇️⬇️

i need to reread ninth house and hell bent fully focusing on darlington because he's so hard to grasp and he's obviously a central part of both books despite barely being there
i am obsessed with how he's old money, a snob, a different breed but he's been so broke and alone he had no heating for the winter, he's a know-it-all, too well-read, intelligent but his demon self didn't hold his knowledge over others, he's incredibly self-righteous, courteous and kind but he murdered his grandpa too

Downtown Vancouver (No. 7)
The Dominion Building sits across the street from Victory Square, site of the former provincial courthouse, which was relocated to Georgia Street in 1913. The Dominion Building was at the hub of the city's financial and legal district until that move.
The backside of the building (containing the emergency staircases) and Cambie Street was filmed during the street scenes of The Neverending Story. It can be seen from Water Street.
The Dominion Building can also be seen at the end of Jennifer Lopez's 2023 film,The Mother, as she looks down into Victory Square from the 14th floor, nearing the end of the film.
The Dominion Building, as well as other elements of Victory Square, were filmed for scenes in an abandoned city in Battlestar Galactica.
The initial rooftop chase scene from Blade: Trinity was shot at the Dominion building.
The 2012 TV show Alcatraz also used this as a location in the opening episode, although the program was set in San Francisco, a lot of the location work was done in Vancouver. The Dominion building can also be seen in the background later in the series when a landmine is found in Victory Square.
Can Lit. author Timothy Taylor. maintains a writing office in this building.

Who was the first person to call Darlington 'Darlington'? Am I asleep at the wheel? Was that in the novel, yes or no? Or did he give himself that name because he wanted to be someone more than 'Daniel Arlington', someone more than 'Danny'?

"I’m bound to you, Stern. To the woman who brought me out of hell. I will serve you ’til the end of days."
- Daniel Arlington V, Hell Bent by Leigh Bardugo (I've waited years for this sequel to come out and here it is; also spoilers. I struggled to remember what happened in the first one since it was 4 years ago(?) but all i can say is I. NEED. MORE. DARLINGTON. and he made me fall for him more when he became a half-demon (what's with the wicked that make them irresistible? lol). we finally got some more world-building and there were many plot lines but somehow they came out coherent in the end? all connected together. also got to see a lot more of Alex's ability and mention of hell and demons. the end was kind of ambiguous though; open and i hope there will be a 3rd book because demons finally bled out into the real world. all in all, i was kind of expecting to read like a grand return of the golden boy of lethe but kind of disappointed. but alex and darlington being bound together is something that i am looking forward to in the next book (hopefully). also i demand some intimate scenes with them because everytime they talk they have this tension going on and i'm gonna snap if i am not gonna read how darlington kiss (wtf weird but bear with me here). also MORE COSMO SCENES please with of course, danny. 4/5)

Alrighty folks we are at 8.5 hours left of hell bent and BOY HOWDY do I have some thoughts!!
🛑!!Spoilers below!!🛑
BWAHAHAHA I am being so fulfilled and validated!! Im glad it worked out so that this check in is right before they descend into hell and everything
All my mercy and pammie nerd bonding dreams are coming true. Leigh idk what I did to personally deserve this but ty
TRIPPPPP he’s back my golden retriever is back!!! Not doing so hot but he’s had it p good in life so far. Can’t wait to see how he does in literal hell!
Abel turner continues to be the mvp!! Also just realized he’s Christian and Abel is a biblical name…..as in ‘Cain and’. I’m worried and pretending not to think abt it!! Hope he doesn’t have any older siblings!! “Your demonic boyfriend” on the floor. I Gagged. when I heard that. turner stop giving the people what we want idk if we can handle it
I’m deeply concerned about the status of darlingdemon’s physical body?? Is that what’s at black elm or not?? If they’re only bringing his soul back what are they planning on putting it in???
While I am a little overwhelmed by the addition of yet more seemingly unrelated plot intrigue, linus rider has been an absolute blast so far!! The whole time Alex was comparing Ariel and eitan and Len and drug dealers generally to vampires she was on the nose!!! I kinda wonder how eitan is gonna play into the more supernatural plot lines now. Could he be a vampire??
ALSO, odds that Linus is the terrible new Lethe supervisor whose name I can’t remember’s long lost lover??? Any takers?? Speaking of whom, wow! I have never well and truly disliked a character so quickly! I feel like Leigh made him so intentionally dislikeable right off the bat that something is gonna happen later to turn that on its head, idk what yet. It’s never what you see is what you get with miss Bardugo…….
Speaking of dislikeable, anselm’s cool card is revoked for being a creep! Drain him dry Alex!!! Although that whole convo was pretty enjoyable I will admit. I like the juxtaposition of him with darlington, anselm being the sort of jaded realist darlington might have grown into if he weren’t…darlington
Speaking of vampires and dislikeable, huge fan of the scene where Alex tells darlington’s parents to eat shit and die!!! And Alex seeing DTA3’s memories, that was sooooo good. Also COSMO……my funky little guy….what are Bowie cat’s secrets I am dying to know!!! What if he really is David Bowie, and David Bowie was a demon the arlingtons made a deal with way back in the day. (Minus the David Bowie part that is an actual theory)
The part where pammie and Alex fought…… :(. Shit hurted pretty good I must say
Just WHAT is going on with Michelle???? I literally have no ideas do we really think she might be linked to the murders?? Is SHE a demon?? I take back everything I said abt her being meh I am deeply intrigued
Sexy gardener lauren ahahaha. When it was mentioned that the ritual is supposed to have a whole bunch of people all together keeping time on the surface while ppl are going to hell my immediate thought was that they were somehow gonna bring their liquor treat party to the ritual site and blast music. Still think that would be fun but idk if it would make sense. Does feel like some mercy type innovation though, and it would rope Lauren into the plot a lil more
Because I’m a hornball thirstgremlin with repressed anger issues I am DESPERATE for a scene with demon Danny threatening someone who’s been giving alex shit. My top picks are eitan and Linus, anselm is also a candidate. lord imagine demon darlington policing the houses of the veil, that would serve them goddamn right
I’m wondering if we’re going to get any more answers about Alex’s nature any time soon? What tf is a wheelwalker? What was her grandma’s deal? (Cool lady all the memories of her are so compelling) what was her DAD’s deal? Is her mom really that spacey or is there something more to all of her flakiness? I am SO curious!!!! What if her dad was connected to Lethe somehow!!
I’m also enjoying the further intrigue abt lethe’s origins and the gauntlet. Never trust an organization that’s main purpose is to uphold the greater broken institution yall
And still we don’t know wtf is going to be the deal in november!!!!!
See y’all in another four hours ig 👀

i thought it was obvious but. since i've never actually heard anyone talk about it, alex's last name means 'star' in a bunch of languages
it's why she's always portrayed or described with stars, i. e. her queen mab outfit for the halloween manuscript party (we all know the one), or
“I will serve you ’til the end of days,” he promised. In the dream she laughed. “And love me too.” Her eyes were black and full of stars.
it's also how darlington sees her in his perfect world where he finally knows what she is
He saw Alex in the garden, a black-winged bird, night gathered around her like a silken shroud shot through with stars. His monstrous queen. His gentle ruler.
her name is galaxy star

Milwaukee Brewers-Minnesota Twins Series Preview
7.12.22-Jason Alexander RHP (2-1) 4.75 ERA Vs. Josh Winder RHP (4-2) 3.12 ERA
7.13.22-Aaron Ashby LHP (2-6) 4.52 ERA Vs. Joe Ryan RHP (6-3) 3.09 ERA
The Brewers At A Glance- The Brewers have cooled off a bit lately having lost four of their last five games. They are still two and a half games ahead of the Cardinals for first place in the National League Central. Willy Adames leads the team with seventeen homers on the year. He is only hitting .217, so it’s either hit or miss for him. The same thing can be said for Rowdy Tellez, who has seventeen homers. Christian Yelich is being a more consistent hitter with a .250 average through eighty-four games. The Brewers have a few guys out including Hunter Renfroe (calf), Tyrone Taylor (concussion), Adrian Houser has an elbow injury, and Alex Jackson is working his way back on a rehab assignment. Milwaukee is led by their great pitching staff. Corbin Burnes and Josh Hader made the All-Star team again this year. Burnes has a 2.20 ERA with 134 strikeouts over 106 1/3 innings. Eric Lauer has been very good with a 3.83 ERA. The bullpen is superb as Josh Hader has a 1.88 ERA in 28 2/3 innings. Devin Williams has struck out fifty-five men over 32 2/3 innings. Hoby Milner is getting it done from the left side with a 2.18 ERA. Brad Boxberger is having another solid year.
The Twins At A Glance- The Minnesota Twins had a bumpy weekend in Texas. The Rangers won two close games before the Twins held on for a 6-5 win on Sunday afternoon. They now close out the first half with six straight games at Target Field. Luis Arraez and Byron Buxton were named All-Stars, which didn’t come as a surprise. Arraez leads baseball with a .348 average and has 100 hits on the season. Byron Buxton has twenty-three homers and forty-two RBI. Nick Gordon is hitting .364 over the month of July with three doubles. Alex Kirilloff is hitting .300 with two homers and six RBI in July as well. Joe Smith might be activated this week. Jovani Moran has been a good second lefty option with Danny Coulombe down. He has allowed just two runs over 14 2/3 innings. Trevor Megill has a 2.76 ERA in 16 1/3 innings this year. Jhoan Duran had some rough games in Arlington, where he gave up three runs over two innings. Tyler Duffey surpringsly got the save on Sunday after using Duran in the eighth.
What To Watch For- The Twins went (4-2) against the Brewers in 2021. They took two out of three games in the Opening Series in Milwaukee then did the same back at Target Field last August. The new interleague schedule starts next year, where the Twins play all fifteen National League teams. The downside is that the natural interleague rivals will only play each other four times per season. I think there should be two three-game weekend series with your natural rival since fans typically travel for that specific series. Aaron Ashby won his only start against the Twins last year. He went five innings and allowed two runs with four strikeouts. Christian Yelich has two homers in fourteen career games at Target Field. Chi Chi Gonzalez has a 6.35 ERA in four games for the Brewers since being claimed on waivers from the Twins. This should be a fun two-game series in the border battle.

Here’s what went down in music on this date….
June 29th
1961 - Del Shannon
Del Shannon was at No.1 on the UK singles chart with 'Runaway.' His only UK No.1 and the first of 14 UK Top 40 hits.
1964 - The Beatles
Touring Australia The Beatles played two shows at the Festival Hall, Brisbane. Over 8,000 fans had waited until after midnight to greet the group as they landed at Brisbane Airport.
1967 - Keith Richards
Rolling Stone Keith Richards was found guilty of allowing his house to be used for the illegal smoking of cannabis. He was sentenced to one year in jail and a £500 ($850) fine, (prison number 5855). Mick Jagger was also fined £100 ($170) and given three months in jail on drug charges. Jagger and Richards were both released and granted bail of £7,000 the following day.
1969 - Shorty Long
American soul singer Shorty Long drowned aged 29 after his boat capsized on the Detroit River in Michigan. Had the 1968 US No.8 single 'Here Comes The Judge.' He acted as an MC for many of the Motown Revue shows and tours.
1974 - Charles Aznavour
Charles Aznavour was at No.1 on the UK singles chart with 'She', the French singers only UK No.1. At the time it made Aznavour the oldest living male chart-topper in the UK charts (at fifty years old).
1979 - Lowell George
American singer-songwriter, multi-instrumentalist and producer, Lowell George died of a heart attack. The Little Feat front man was found dead at the Key Bridge Marriott Hotel in Arlington, Virginia. 1985 - David Bowie
David Bowie and Mick Jagger recorded a version of the Martha Reeves and the Vandellas 1964 hit 'Dancing In The Street' for the forthcoming Live Aid fundraising event. The single went on to become a No.1 UK hit. The original plan was to perform a track together live, with Bowie performing at Wembley Stadium and Jagger at John F. Kennedy Stadium, until it was realised that the satellite link-up would cause a half-second delay that would make this impossible unless either Bowie or Jagger mimed their contribution, something neither artist was willing to do.
1985 - John Lennon
John Lennon's 1965 Rolls-Royce Phantom V limousine, with psychedelic paintwork, sold for a record sum of $3,006,385, (£1,768,462) at a Sotheby's auction in New York.

2016 - Elvis Presley
Elvis Presley's daughter Lisa Marie filed for divorce from her fourth husband, Michael Lockwood, just months after the couple celebrated their 10th wedding anniversary last January. Lisa Marie had previously been wed to Danny Keough from 1988 until 1994, Michael Jackson from 1994 to 1999 and to actor Nicolas Cage from 2002 to 2004.
2019 - Steven Adler
Former Guns N’ Roses drummer Steven Adler was taken to hospital after stabbing himself. The musician, who was sacked from the rock group in 1990 over drink and drug issues, was taken to a Los Angeles hospital after paramedics were called to his home for what was reported to be a self-inflicted injury.
2020 - Benny Mardones
American singer and songwriter Benny Mardones died age 73. He scored the hit single 'Into the Night,' which hit the top 20 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart twice, in 1980 and again in 1989.
