For everyone who asked: a dialogue parser for BG3 alongside with the parsed dialogue for the newest patch. The parser is not mine, but its creator a) is amazing, b) wished to stay anonymous, and c) uploaded the parser to github - any future versions will be uploaded there first!
UPD: The parser was updated!! Now all the lines are parsed, AND there are new features like audio and dialogue tree visualisation. See below!
Patch 7 dialogue is uploaded!
If you don't want to touch the parser and just want the dialogues, make sure to download the whole "BG3 ... (1.6)" folder and keep the "styles" folder within: it is needed for the html files functionality (hide/show certain types of information as per the menu at the top, jumps when you click on [jump], color for better readability, etc). See the image below for what it should look like. The formatting was borrowed from TORcommunity with their blessing.
Tumblr media
If you want to run the parser yourself instead of downloading my parsed files, it's easy:
run bg3dialogreader.exe, OPEN any .pak file inside of your game's '\steamapps\common\Baldurs Gate 3\Data' folder,
select your language
press ‘LOAD’, it'll create a database file with all the tags, flags, etc.
Once that is done, press ‘EXPORT all dialogs to html’, and give it a minute or two to finish.
Find the parser dialogue in ‘Dialogs’ folder. If you move the folder elsewhere, move the ‘styles’ folder as well! It contains the styles you need for the color coding and functionality to keep working!
New features:
Once you've created the database (after step three above), you can also preview the dialogue trees inside of the parser and extract only what you need:
Tumblr media
You can also listen to the correspinding audio files by clicking the line in the right window. But to do that, as the parser tells you, you need to download and put the filed from vgmstream-win64.zip inside of the parser's main folder (restart the parser after).
You can CONVERT the bg3 dialogue to the format that the Divinity Original Sin 2's Editor understands. That way, you can view the dialogues as trees! Unlike the html files, the trees don't show ALL the relevant information, but it's much easier to orient yourself in.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
To get that, you DO need to have bought and installed Larian's previous game, Divinity Original Sin 2. It comes with a tool called 'The Divinity Engine 2'. Here you can read about how to unstall and lauch it. Once you have it, you need to load/create a project. We're trying to get to the point where the tool allows you to open the Dialog Editor. Then you can Open any bg3 dialogue file you want. And in case you want it, here's an in-depth Dialog Editor tutorial. But if you simply want to know how to open the Editor, here's the gist:
Update: In order to see the names of the speakers (up to ten), you can put the _merged.lsf file inside of the "\Divinity Original Sin 2\DefEd\Data\Public\[your project's name here]\RootTemplates\_merged.lsf" file path.
Feel free to ask if you have any questions! Please let me know if you modify the parser, I'd be curious to know what you added, and will possibly add it to the google drive.

Sophia and her journal
left, from the artbook and on the right, artist Dan Zollinger's illustration for the LP sleeve of the official Lies vinyl release. (but I think this artist was likely given this material to reference when he was commissioned)
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
I recall there were a couple of blogs who datamined "sophia's diary" from the game files on a couple of instances. (taken from this post here, from @amorganva ). but what's the item to the left of the pocketwatch? [edit: I see now that it's a pen! the scaling was messing me up. You can see sophia holding it in the artbook render as well. I thought it was a sword or something XD]
Tumblr media
What's interesting to me is she's posed with the journal. It seemed so central to her character and her design, but it's completely gone in the final release.
I wonder if they were initially implying that sophia was the author of pinocchio in this universe, or something. What was so important about the journal?
You want to know the year?
Tumblr media
I notice when we play the game, (maybe I'm completely wrong or they patched it out ?) , but iirc oftentimes the years would be scrubbed out. Like the Descartes note had 18XX or something, and certain dates and times would be XX/XX. I thought this might be the devs wanting to keep an ambiguous "floating timeline" for game reasons.
But the grand exhibition year digit is clearly visible. We don't know when exactly we wake, but the year the failed exhibition took place is very definitively 1889. (Or 1899? I seem to recall the dates in LOP are listed as 188x however )
In the overture trailer - "You want to know the year?"
I think in the year LoP takes place, it is roughly a year later at 1890 (when P wakes up). And P wants to know if he's been taken back to 1889. There is some conversation in the fanbase around the exact timeline of events in LOP, It's safe to say LOP might be stretching the logic of some events for game purposes (the 30 year timeframe seemed quite accelerated to me personally)
but now I wonder if the EXACT year is going to be revelatory somehow, or revealed in the DLC. like, maybe it's more important than we think?
[There are other strange anachronisms in LOP. Simon's tower, and the devices on the counter with Paracelsus at the end.]

Aylin Silverblood. My true name. Nightsong was only ever a curse.
Digging through game text circa 2021 again and I am reminded how bummed I am that we lost out on this line because:
a) I get irrationally annoyed when people call her Nightsong as if it were one of her (several) cool titles and epithets, because it was what her captor-enemies named her and it is degrading and symbolic of Shar's hold over her, also going hand in hand with the ongoing objectification as "it" and "a relic to be purchased and pursued" and "Balthazar's greatest creation" etc. etc.
b) Aylin Silverblood is just such a banger name, let her have it AND the knightly title, why not

The more I look through the datamine, the more certain I am that the most 'canon' (if you care about that) Origin pairings for Minthara are Karlach and Gale. Of the companions, they're the ones she has the most detailed conversations with and about. She treats Karlach with great care and a consistent compassion she rarely shows for anyone else, and for all that she pretends to not know Gale's name she's very invested in his pursuing greater power and disappointed if he rejects it. Of all the companions that she mentions in her topical greetings, they're among the only ones that get multiple conversation full conversation trees dedicated to talking to/about them, instead of one or two line quips. They (and Lae'zel) are the companions whose lives it feels like she's invested in, to a greater or lesser extent.
I'm not arguing against shipping her with other people (my longfic is pairing her with Isobel (and eventually Aylin) of all people, and yes setting that up to work believably is one hell of a lift), but every time I delve into the datamine I come face to face with the evidence that the two people in camp that Minthara cares the most about are Karlach and Gale.

FFXV || UNUSED EP. ARDYN ENDING
Commentary by the dataminer Youtube@Luthus Nox Fleuret
This unused scene was supposed to be the very last cutscene in EPISODE ARDYN but it was seemingly taken out after all the other upcoming DLCs were cancelled which would have formed an entire new alternate storyline. Since Episode Ardyn is the start of that story line it would probably have been a bit confusing to tease something like this and only have it resolved in the novel - as the actual game content got cancelled. Its also worth noting that after this scene the score board will appear, fully ending the game. I dislike this DLC and the alternate storyline developed in DotF. In my view, DotF undermines previously established characterization/story and directly contradicts the original theme of FFXV replacing it with something entirely else. I do not view its content as canon in any form. I am, however, committed to uncovering and documenting the many secrets of FFXV. Hence why I have decieded to upload this online regardless of my personal opinions on the matter.
My thoughts under the cut:
So the sound files from this scene were not an isolated leftover thing? Cool cool we get to see this :D It never ceases to amaze me how far the datamining scene of the game has come after all these years ✨ I'm loving Lunafreya's posture/walking animation here hehe I also partially agree with Luthus commentary. I'm not fond of the alternate story and ending DotF offers because of the lore changes, but It's been long since I decided to simply ignore it/let others have their fun and relish in the little things that surface from it, like Luna scenes and dialogues in the book, or in this case, a datamined scene.
No point in marinating in the things we don't like from a videogame's alternate ending when there's so much more to like from the actual game, me thinks.

It was always only a matter of time before I pulled all Abdirak resources into one folder for convenience. So far it has:
All of Abdirak's dialogue and the developer's comments for the VA and the animation team;
All of his spoken lines in .ogg format, courtesy of CellarSpider;
Official renders and screenshots of his stats, items, and books;
His 3d model and textures, assembled and ready to be previewed in blender; the shader setting were done by Star-Max, many thanks!❤️ The skin/hair/eyes colors were eyeballed, but the textures and the outfit's colors are gunuine.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Cosplay resources done by me, which include:
His hooks and belts, upscaled and prepared for 3d printing;
The vector patterns for his skirts, more of less in the right size;
The shoulderpads and belt vector patterns, created with 2.5mm EVA foam in mind. The middle and lower sections might need to be resized, depending on the physique of any given cosplayer. You might want to make a higher collar too.

Some Minthara banters I haven't seen around before- May contain some story spoilers, at least implied
Tumblr media
Devnote 1: Softly chiding Devnote 2: responding to Astarion who just asked her if she's feeling friendlier than usual - she's mocking, not being too cruel
Tumblr media
Devnote 1: describing this bitterly - she hates Ketheric Devnote 2: sneering - she has no respect for surface-dwellers
Tumblr media
Devnote 1: Distaste (in place where people are infected with tadpoles) Devnote 2: with a shudder, having heard a description of illithid infection Devnote 3: Veiled criticism of a former enemy Devnote 4: quietly angry. Heavy emphasis on poison
Tumblr media
No devnotes here but can I just say I love the dynamic between these two LOL
Tumblr media
Devnote 1: Disgusted, exploring sewers Devnote 2: incredulous Devnote 3: disappointed to learn ANOTHER miserable fact about Baldur's Gate - which is FAR inferior in her mind to great drow cities (I love this devnote LMAO)

Something is going on with Retro NSO
I figured this stuff should be part of a post because I think it's an interesting thing to talk about.
As of the last few updates, I started to notice some changes to the NES and SNES emulators specifically, particularly related to emulation of accessories.
NES Four Score
Tumblr media
If you don't know what the NES Four Score is, it's an accessory that allows you to play the NES up to 4 players.
I had actually never really datamined the NES emulator that much but at one point I randomly decided to give it a real shot for the July 2024 update (version 6.9.0).
Then I got actually surprised to notice code for playing using the Four Score, so I eventually went versions back, and found out it was a recent addition of 6.6.0, back in September 2023.
However, it is a little weird, it doesn't seem to be really accurate (to be more exact it only implements one ID for the second controller port, if you know, you know), but it seems functional. In fact in the 6.5.0 update (June 2023), it seemed to have been actually forced on all games, for some reason.
I couldn't notice any code regarding the NES Zapper or any other accessories however, but something that kind of gets me is that I don't notice any code for the Hori 4 Players Adaptor, which is like the Four Score but for the japanese Famicom, and it has some differences on a technical level.
My suspicion is that this was worked on when they were looking into Rare Studio titles, and R.C. Pro Am 2 is definitely a game that uses it. That said, there is one game on NES NSO already that supports the Four Score, but you cannot use it: It's Downtown Nekketsu March Super-Awesome Field Day!, which is kind of a sports games with various sports. (For some reason Nintendo is not using the newly localized ROM and that's a shame.)
SNES Super MultiTap
Tumblr media
This is not new, this was part of the SNES emulator's code the entire time since launch, but considering we just talked about the Four Score for NES, I figured it it would also be a good time to talk a little bit about it, and bring you up to speed.
On SNES, there is the Super MultiTap that can let you play up to 5 players on the same system (it plugs into the second controller port, where you can plug 4 controllers on that, plus the first controller on the first controller port on the system).
There are actually 6 games that can use the Super MultiTap on SNES NSO as of right now, but you cannot play more than 2 players currently, BUT I confirm that it actually does emulate the accessory regardless, just that the application does not let you go past 2 players, but the games do recognize that the device is plugged.
Those games are Super Puyo Puyo 2 (actually available since SNES NSO launch!), Natsume Championship Wrestling, Amazing Hebereke, Kunio-kun no Dodgeball da yo Zen'in Shūgō!, Smash Tennis, and The Peace Keepers.
I figured it would be worth mentioning, because I don't think the addition of Four Score to the NES emulator is just an experiment, it might be possible that SNES NSO might get a major update too regarding the ability to play up to 4 or 5 players for a limited amount of games in the future... especially because of...
SNES Mouse
Tumblr media
Like the Super Multitap, the SNES NSO emulator actually contained code to emulate the SNES Mouse the entire time since launch. However, there has been a new development as of today.
I already talked about this in one of my posts, but I'll just do a roundup of what we datamined in the past: Initially, the SNES emulator checked for specific game identification to enable the SNES Mouse emulation, and looked for 3 specific games.
We don't know what those games are, but considering the limited amount of games, I believe it is reasonable to assume they were limited to games on SNES that only worked with the SNES Mouse and nothing else, in which case, we can assume the following games:
Mario Paint
Mario & Wario
The problem however... those are the only SNES games that released that requires the SNES Mouse to play. You'd wonder what could be the 3rd game that could be best played with a Mouse, but I have a list of what could be it:
Mario Paint (PAL version)
Sound Fantasy
For a few reasons however, I don't believe the PAL version of Mario Paint would be likely, and it leaves the unreleased Nintendo game Sound Fantasy as the other option, we know it was actually completed, and it required the SNES Mouse to play. I won't delve too much on that game, but think of it as a mix of Mario Paint and Electroplankton on DS together, but back in 1994.
In later updates, they removed code that refers to the game identification and relied on game metadata instead. That was done fairly quickly in its life even.
That would have been the end of it if it wasn't for today's SNES NSO update (3.10.0), where a major rework of SNES Mouse emulation was done:
They added the ability to emulate the SNES Mouse on both controller ports, it used to be only on the first controller port.
Internally they can now do input replays of SNES Mouse devices.
There's code for configuring the behavior of the SNES Mouse between either Original, or something else.
This is actually rather interesting, this was added in the emulator between February and August 2024, so this is a legit recent development.
The mention of the SNES Mouse behavior configuration is also interesting, because it means they're looking into ways to support the SNES Mouse in different, possibly more accessible ways than using a USB Mouse.
The fact that they can also emulate the SNES Mouse on both controller ports is also potential evidence that they're looking further into other games than just SNES Mouse only titles, as some games did use the mouse on the second port instead, while leaving the first SNES controller plugged.
To this day, I haven't seen any code for the Super Scope just yet, or the Satellaview for that matter, unfortunately.
Conclusion
Just as a bit of a tl;dr for people who don't like reading:
They secretly added support last year for the NES Four Score to allow 4 player multiplayer, but isn't used yet.
They secretly had SNES Super Multitap support since day one to allow 5 player multiplayer, but isn't used yet.
They secretly had SNES Mouse support since day one, but today (18 September 2024) they released an update that reworked it significantly.
The developers seems to be busy adding or reworking accessories as of the last year. I gotta be honest, I find this a little suspect. We might be going onto something major soon that reworks the NES and SNES applications for multiplayer and more.
I hope so much that would be sooner rather than later.
...also, please, add localized ROMs to NES and SNES NSO. There's no reason not to have them.

Okay does anybody know how to datamine Kingdom Hearts Union X [Cross]? I need the assets for the official characters (Ephemer, Skuld, Brain, the Foretellers, etc.) I've gone digging into the apk file but I'm finding fucking NOTHING. No PNGs, no BMPs, no WEBPs, NOTHING. All the data I CAN find seems to be stuff relating to the app icon and some dummy images for Dark Road. If anybody knows how to datamine KHUX PLEASE hit me up in dms, I'm beginning to get desperate.

You know what I love? Flavour text on my items!
So here's some BG3 flavour text I found for Aylin's, Isobel's, and Ketheric's items, many of which are not lootable in-game - and some of which the characters themselves aren't seen wearing. I've had this lying around for a while, but now the toolset has given me a simple way to pluck out some neat "loot" visuals to go with the words. I'm going to list their names as they appear in the files, as well as include the non-unique descriptions some of them have (when they simply inherited from the template of another item of an appropriate type).
Aylin
Nightsong's Armour
Tumblr media
Nightsong's armour is evocative of her personality - prickly, hardy, and about as agreeable as a clenched fist.
Nightsong Helmet
Tumblr media
The Dame's resentment and anger toward Ketheric cannot be overstated. Still, her dreams rove sweeter corners, beyond the cruel hardwood floors of vengeance, the rooms of pain and discipline. Hers is a complex house, a house of the heart.
Nightsong Boots
Tumblr media
Scratched in places, scorched in others, and worn thin at the heel, these boots bear the indelible marks of experience. (Metallic Boots default text)
Nightsong Gloves
Tumblr media
Made from steel hammered thin, these gauntlets are a fine investment for any warrior. (Metallic Gloves default text)
Isobel
Moon Devotion Robe
Tumblr media
A memory from her childhood: a warm bed. Through the cracked window, she could see the moonlight cupping the plums in the tree as if in silver hands. The name of the goddess Selûne came to her, and never left.
Isobel's Boots
Tumblr media
Isobel's boots are haphazardly repaired, and have a humble snug fit for the wearer, snug as strong faith in the chest of a religious devotee.
Jhannyl's Gloves
Tumblr media Tumblr media
(Left image is Isobel's actual visible gloves which don't have a "loot" equivalent, right is the visual for the ones that she actually has in her inventory)
Divine runes accentuate the finger pads. While not a religious sect, the Harpers do not demand the occlusion of religion in their members.
Isobel Headwear
Tumblr media
She prayed for words and received silence. She prayed for intimacy and slept alone. She prayed for fruit and ate charcoal. She prayed for death and wanted to live. Then she grew older, and received things she'd wanted. Still she prayed.
Isobel's Circlet
Tumblr media
Provides its wearer a touch of elegance but no additional protection. (Circlet default text)
Ketheric
Reaper's Embrace
Tumblr media
Heavy steel bones and teeth enclose the armour's chest and neck like a grotesque exoskeleton that both swallows and protects the wearer.
Ketheric Circlet
Tumblr media
Grants the wearer an austere presence, but no magical benefit. (Circlet default text)
Ketheric Circlet B
Tumblr media
In his youth, Ketheric Thorm has the same puzzled, ever-curious brow belonging to any kid. Lamentable, that the brow this circlet adorned warped with tragedy and a sick determination over time.
Ketheric's Boots
Tumblr media
Scratched in places, scorched in others, and worn thin at the heel, these boots bear the indelible marks of experience. (Metallic Boots default text)
Ketheric's Gloves
Tumblr media
Not linked to any description and no "loot" visual I could find, but they're neat and have more little skeletons on them, so here they are.
Ketheric Cloak
Tumblr media
Woven of heavy wool, this cloak is solid of make if somewhat stiff to wear. (Cloak default text)
Ketheric's Shield
Tumblr media
In the theatre of dreams, Ketheric killed his wife every night. That wasn't how things happened... but always upon waking, he would glare into the dark, long-faced and solemn, and he would think: 'I keep you alive with my memories, beloved. I kill you with what I've become.'
Ketheric's Warhammer
Tumblr media
This hammer's weight is centred on enchanted obsidian at the base of the head. Some nights before bed, Ketheric would sneak a whey-faced glance at the hammer, and think about the stone, and wonder what unknown facet of his heart bore his weight.
