WrA: Needless Negativity

I apologize for the long post, but I feel it is necessary to post this on another platform in the event that the forum post is deleted; this is in regards to my posting on the Dawnsworn initiative on Wyrmrest Accord.

The forum thread in question will be pasted here, as well as the responses to it leading up to the conversation. I attempted to maintain a cordial and polite response throughout this exchange, even though being met with immediate negativity was extremely hurtful.

I feel the need to include the responses and invariable personal attacks from this user; I am unsure why a simple forum posting led to this much negativity and hate, but I have never experienced anything like this before in regards to World of Warcraft roleplay. I don't know why this was necessary, but in lieu of what I experienced and the immediate hatefulness that was returned in this exchange, I feel it prevalent to share it with those who may be inclined to post further roleplay initiatives on the forums. One would like to think in this day and age with the inclusivity that we endeavor to have, that creative ideas and projects to bring people together would do just that — rather than push them apart. To anyone wishing to post guild advertisements, or initiative threads such as this one, please know that the negativity you may experience is a projection of others, for whatever reason they hold so much hatred, and not an indicator of your ideas or initiatives being negative or subpar in any way. Everyone has a right to roleplay how they wish, and ought to be able to do so without experiencing negativity or hatred in response to innocent wishes to bring people together. With that being said, I will include the logged conversation here. To anyone interested in Dawnsworn as a guild or an initiative, please know that you will not experience this kind of response to any of your ideas. All roleplay is valid, regardless of the format in which you choose to post your forum threads.

Light help me, because I fucking need it right now. Thalin thought to himself this night. The job the guild had recently set out for went so well to start. They descended into the cave, and took on the spirits with now issue... until that one bastard took hold of him. Things were dark and fuzzy in his own mind, a icy chill ran through his blood, not a quick chill no, no it was an ongoing freezing. It felt far better though, than what the fucker made him do. Pakani was in front of him, back turned, Shon and her partner Shen were to his side. All Thalin could do was scream in his own mind as he felt him cut down his own friends. The nightmare ended when Joy did what needed to be done, and blasted him full force. The fire nearly brought Thalin down, but it did drive the spirit out, and he was angry.

Light above, the pain hurt him. Shon took so long to get up, he was afraid she died, but her partner wouldn’t let her, and he was thankful for that. The others tried to cover for him, saying that it was some trick of the spirits that brought Pakani down, and he could easily believe that, being blind. But Thalin wouldn’t allow it, he needed to let him know what happened and how much he was sorry. Light, I don’t think I can say it enough times... 

‘You have to forgive yourself first,’ was what Blair told him, and... she seemed right, it sounded right, but it would be hard for sure. Light, it would be hard. Thalin made himself ready for bed, unsure if he’d rest well, but aware the days events took a hell of a tole on him. 

He sat quietly, just letting some of the pain out. A soft skitter under the bed got his attention, and he looked to see Diggz the kobold looking up at him. The little fellow was a friend he made one job, and quickly became a roommate. The kobold looked at him for a long moment, chattering to itself. It snuck back under the bed, and returned with a wad of dirt with a stick poking out the top. It was the candle Thalin made to win the kobolds over. Thalin smiled, reaching down to hold the mound, “Thank you, Diggz. I’ll do my best, I promise.”
