Please Stop, It's Already Dead
We’re almost a year into Zeb Wells’ run on Spider-Man and we finally got answer as to what the f*ck i going on. The mystery box has been opened and it’s full of f*cking stupid. Stupid, stupid, answers. Answers that just don’t work for the characters that we all know and love. Bro, like, i had a whole goddamn essay written about this, about how Zeb Wells has literally thrown out decades of growth and characterization for some half-hearted shock plot to basically troll the fandom but then i saw the leaks for issue twenty-six and what the f*ck? The death of Ms. Marvel? Really? You’re about to fridge Kamala Khan? Word? The most popular and visible Muslim character in f*cking comics, and you’re going to kill her off just to f*ck with Peter Parker even more than he’s already been f*cked over? What the f*ck is even going on anymore? What are you doing Marvel? How is this a good idea? How are these the optics you wan for your flagship comic book and most profitable hero? It’s like you hate money right now.
Listen, I'll be the first to admit that i didn’t care for Kamala when she was first introduced in the comics. Ma came about during the whole “All New, All Different” debacle and i just couldn’t stand any of that sh*t. It didn’t help that she was pushed so goddamn hard, to the point of sheer annoyance. I couldn’t pick up a Marvel comic without a f*cking Ms. Marvel mention for, like, two whole years. It was obnoxious how prominent this chick was in  comics but, as time went on, i got over it. Kamala is a thing. I’m good with that. It helps that she is unapologetically Pakistani and Muslim. That sh*t is f*cking dope and we can always have more represenation like that. Then she got a show. Yo, Iman Vellani did the impossible and changed my opinion of Kamla altogether. That was top-tier, RDJ-as-Iron Man casing right there. I am still wildly indifferent to Kamala in the books but Ms. Marvel in the MCU is the sh*t. It’s a crime more people didn’t watch that show but i think she’ll steal all of her scenes in the upcoming Marvels flick. Which, coincidentally, is also written by Zeb f*cking Wells so that might end up being a sh*tshow, too. which brings me back to my point: Why the f*ck are we fridging Miss Marvel in the goddamn first place?
Ma is poised o be a breakout star of one of the most anticipated (some would also say infamous) MCU entries to date. What the f*ck is the motivation behind such an ill-advised comic book death? Now, unlike a lot of people out there in the blogsphere, i don’t think this is desperate and lazy “plot twist” is racist or sexist. I can definitely see why people would say that but this, to me, stinks of corporate mandate. This is the Marvel suits making the call, probably to get buzz going for the aforementioned Marvels film because, so far, word is that thing is a goddamn mess. Which isn’t surprising considering that Wells wrote that thing, too. I Just want to hammer that fact home: Zeb Wells wrote the Marvels and is now killing off Ms. Marvel in the comics, for reasons. You would think it be counter-intuitive to kill off a third of your leads in said flick just for hate clicks but you know the old adage; All publicity is good publicity. I don’t think Marvel as a whole, needs anymore bad publicity, though, and this sh*t is the worst kind.
Wells isn’t even killing her off in her own book, man. Kamala Khan’s death, as temporary as it will probably end up being, is just to give “development” to Peter Parker. Her death is a f*cking plot device, devoid of purpose or narrative weight, and that is the greatest crime being committed here. Bad writing aside, do you know how disrespectful this is to the character? How condescending it is to her fans? It’s wild to me that the higher ups gave the green light for this bullsh*t but, i mean, they did hand Wells the reins to the most popular superhero in the world. And continue to let him f*ck it up. Why not throw a little brown girl sacrifice on the dumpster fire, too? Like, it keeps getting worse and I don't know how that's even f*cking possible. How is this Spider-Man run so bad? How does Wells keep making the absolute wrong choices? I don't even understand how someone who calls themselves a professional writer, can craft such an abysmal narrative and put their name on it. Proudly. You should hear this asshole in interviews. HE rally thinks he’s doing something great with this book right now. The delusion and hubris is real. It’s sh*t like this that’s letting manga absolutely massacre the US comics industry.

The meme of the two people standing over someone typing on a computer and telling them "ok ok now tell them 'go kill urself loser'." Except it's Kamala and Sam teaching Viv how to settle online arguments.

real talk, though.
if vision quest is about white vision regaining his memories. even if she's dead, wanda should be in that.
you can't give me wandavision and then pretend that vision's memories wouldn't largely involve wanda. or you can, but then that would carry a through line of wanda caring more about vision than he does about her (or, at least, that his priorities were/are different - which you can support with infinity war and his decision to go jump into battle and leave wanda once he noticed the avengers needed his help). and regardless, she would and should still be part of those memories.
that would be the best place to confirm or deny what the mcu official timeline is speculating re: wanda's death because a white vision who truly regained his memories would also probably seek her out, depending on how he relates to those memories, even if he doesn't accept them into who he is or decides to be.

Lol! Ms. Marvel’s first encounter with Wolverine is such a classic:
“Wow. Such athletic. Very claws. So amaze.”
Tumblr media
Also, funny story! Back when I still used to be on Twitter (i.e. BEFORE it was bought out by Elon Musk...), I was actually once quote-tweeted by G. Willow Wilson herself who provided some additional creator-insight to some commentary I made concerning the fact that the "Healing Factor" arc of Ms. Marvel occured around the exact same time Logan was briefly killed-off in the Death of Wolverine event!
Tumblr media
It honestly felt pretty awesome to have one of my Top 5 favorite comic book authors reply back to me like that!
From Ms. Marvel (2014) #6 & #7 by G. Willow Wilson & Jacob Wyatt.

Just got outta the Marvels. Fun movie. Not a good movie, but I definitely enjoyed myself. Anyways, here’s a few tarot archetypes I noticed while watching. Spoilers, of course!
Tumblr media
Carol is the Star
Hope, Inspiration, Guidance
Visually, Carol is just that blond lady lol. The Eight Pointed Star worn on her chest. Narratively, Carol inspires little girls Monica and Kamala. As the Star, she strives to heal a broken society.
Tumblr media
Monica is Death
Endings, Change, Tranistions
Visually, Monica’s outfit is vaguely serving skeleton, but when powered she takes on a ghostly appearance. Spectrum/Spector. Her Emblem even resembles a White Flower. Narratively Monica is still haunted by the Death of her Mother, and even Sacrificers herself in the end, with no assurance of surviving.
When Dar-Benn looks at Carol and says “Death follows you”, Monica is immediately in focus behind her. A lot of layers to that moment.
Tumblr media
Kamala is the Page/Princess of Wands
An Enthusiast, Creative, Free-Spirited Youth
It really hit me when she started using her scarf as a weapon. Then I remembered the orange cat too. Especially her scene herding them haha. And admittedly this may be a stretch, but Bengal/Bangle
Tumblr media
Dar-Benn is Justice/Adjustment
Fairness, Cause & Effect, Balance
Visually, her costumes serve the appropriate look of the card, especially the green Thoth version. The vertical pattens and shoulder accents fit well. Narratively, Dar-Benn wanted to restore order or whatever- she’s not a particularly compelling villain tbh. But her motivations and actions align really well with the card. She wants Justice, even if it’s flawed.

Okay so it's kinda obvious if you look though my blog that I've been obsessed with Criminal Minds lately, however, it was stressing me tf out so I thought I'd rate the stuff I've been watching this month instead :D (I'm painfully bored rn but I wanna actually be a regular blog poster so...) Might do a part 2 bc I will def have forgotten some
Abbott Elementary - 10/10! I cannot stress how good this show is omg ik no one will listen to me but it is a MUST watch! So funny I literally cannot recommend enough. When season 3 comes out i will be READY omfg
Our Flag Means Death - 9/10 such a good show but that last ep stressed me out (again when season 2 is released I will BE THERE) also how has it taken me so long to watch this show? who tf knows
Fleabag - 11/10 EMOTIONAL MASTERPIECE I am a shell of a human after watching this show omfg. Another must watch but maybe don't if you're feeling emotionally fragile lmfao
She-Hulk - 6/10 okay so the dialogue is BAD but it rly isn't as bad as people make it out to be men just got mad bc it's about women and doesn't make them look weaker than men. It doesn't even make men look bad at all! still wasn't rly a good show but it's def not the atrocity it was made out to be
Ms. Marvel - 8/10 SO GOOD!?! Especially for a Marvel show like what??? HOWEVER I think it would've been better if it was like a 9 ep season so it could go into more detail about all the issues it brought up. Idk maybe it's just me but I feel like some of the plotlines ended quite abruptly???
Might do another post about the films I watched bc I've watched a LOT of films this month

Surely this won't happen to Kamala? It doesn't make any sense. She's too full of life for this. And honestly the inhumanity retcon seems a bit too ambitious.

So so so. In Scott's Champions Era, it's established that even with Baby Scott being their teammate who they love, the Champs still regard Older Scott as a dangerous person. Bc that's what he was at the time.
However, a lot of them see Logan in a more positive light. Kamala esp looks up to him bc he was the first hero she met as Ms. Marvel. He sometimes does a lil murder, but otherwise he's known to be a good guy.
But in the XCU movies, Logan doesn't have that trustworthy reputation. And Older Scott hasn't become a terrorist. So the roles are essentially reversed.
All this to say, once the Champions breach containment and enter the Moviesverse, they all gravitate towards Logan as a familiar touchstone and give Scott death glares, much to everyone's confusion. Including Logan's.
