Dingo Party Something fun :3 I recently learned that dingoes come in a variety of coat colors. While many people assume these different colors mean they’re crossbreeds, they’re actually all pure dingoes. (Recent research suggests dingoes evolved from early domestic dogs that descended from wolves. Dingoes are genetically distinct from modern dogs in some ways, such as lacking starch digestion genes and having extra vertebrae that make them more flexible. They are still wild animals, having lived in Australia for thousands of years.
They could be seen as a kind of proto-dog or a pre-domesticated canine, representing an earlier stage of domestication. It's now believed that the domestication of canines was a natural symbiotic process between humans and wolves, where both species benefited from cooperation, rather than a process designed entirely by humans).

It’s National Dog Day, so say “hello” to the dingo (Canis familiaris dingo)! This good boy can be found throughout Australia and parts of Southeast Asia. In Australia, the dingo has adapted to various environments, from mountainous areas to deserts to tropical forests. It hunts opportunistically, in groups when taking on larger targets, like kangaroos, or alone for smaller prey like rabbits. Rather than barking, it communicates through wolf-like howls.

Ancient DNA analysis reveals dingoes have been in Australia for 1000s of years
The canines are related to dogs and wolves from China, not domestic dogs, new study suggests.
The modern-day dingo is descended from ancient dogs and wolves from China and the Tibetan Plateau and not to dogs domestic to the Australian continent, researchers behind a new study report. Using 42 ancient DNA samples from dingo bone and teeth remains housed in museums and excavated from caves and other sites, researchers date the arrival of the iconic canines in Australia through Pacific traders to between 3000 and 8000 years ago...
