Dnd people! does anyone know how pirate ships work? or like....... where can i find like a tutorial for pirate ships? bc i have to npc a captain for one of em and i should know 🤦🏽‍♀️🤦🏽‍♀️🤦🏽‍♀️

I started a new thing for my local game store: A Bounty board. Each week ill post 4-6 quest prompts dms can use when they're in a bind. I figured I share them here. all of the fish in the harbor and along the coast are suddenly gone. Find out what happened. - a animating hat has popped up, whatever it lands on is permanently animated and the hat passes on. Find the hat and destroy it. -The local wizard has died from exhaustion. Investigation of his tower finds a tarrasque egg thats been frozen in time, but the spells wearing off. Get the egg as far away as possible before it hatches -Overnight, a entire orphanage goes missing. Investigation shows a giant hole in the ground of the main room. Find out what happened. -A portal has opened in the nearby woods. The emerald enclave is asking for assistance in investigating and closing the portal -all of the kobolds that work in the sewers are suddenly in the streets and refuse to go back down. They seem terrified of something. -the local wizard has up and went missing after a magical explosion in his tower. Look for clues to help bring the regions wizard back. - The river barge needs protection as it makes its way through a particular nasty part of the region - all of the goblins in the area are suddenly migrating-or fleeing, noones really sure which. -the prisons in the towns dungeon has suffered a breach. Something came through the floor and ate the guards and prisoner's. -The local druid got drunk one night and polymorphed his cows and sheep into birds. They're now lost in the woods, probably stuck in trees. -Three hill giants were seen in the area days before the great feast. Either protect the town or take care of the giants. -The court jesters babbling accidentally summoned a fiend thats now on the loose. Find it before it kills the princess -a orphan has been passed from family to family, but each one ends up dead. Find out what happened and help the kid find a home. -a abandoned wizards tower has attracted the attention of a roosting roc . The local towns are terrified. -new -dhax The Returned, a beholder of renown, has mysteriously requested aid from a group of adventurers. All that you know from his reputation is that Dhax travels the planes alot and is a collector of sorts. -The local miners have requested help. They report hearing odd clicks coming from one of the new tunnel passages. They two that went to investigate never returned. -The mountain pass has become home to a mating pair of remoraz's. The small town on the other side desperately needs supplies. They are actively seeking heroes to dispatch of the mating pair. A local wizard has requested the fire glands for additional payment. -A local fishing hole has suddenly attracted gungs . They seem to be worshiping something in the water. The city request aid I, investigating. -A group of lizardfolk have begun taming and domesticating rust monsters to aid in caravan ambushes. Get rid of them before the knowledge spreads, for the sake of everyone.

Storytime (+ I sort of need advice)

Uhhh ok so there was a thing and I was half listening to a guy and he goes, “hey you know how to play dnd?”

So me, in my halfhearted state, says, “uh-huh”

And then he goes, “you wanna join our campaign?”

And I reply -like the dumbass I am - “yeah sure sounds fun.”

So now I have to figure out how to play dnd. I’ve got the concept but struggling to figure out the logistics of my character sheet (such as attributes, hit point, etc) and if you can help or know anyone who can, shoot me a message? Please? Thank you?
