hey there :) just sliding into your inbox to ask if you have any other particular favorite CSI episodes aside from grave danger/stalker/gum drops? I got a little taste of Nick whump and now I'm fiending for more 👉👈

Nick just whumps so well, it gets under your skin. He's the youngest of like seven kids, the son of a judge and a lawyer and is always trying so hard to win everyone's approval and feeling like he's no one's favorite. It's like catnip to me but unfortunately, there's not enough of it. CSI friends, help me out, if one has already watched Stalker, Grave Danger, and Gum Drops is this really all that's left? 15 years, you'd think they could have given us a little more.

1x06 "Who Are You?" is a favorite episode of mine. When the ending leaves you feeling a little disappointed, I've got this missing scene

1x13 "Boom" is more of emotional whump with Nick's job on the line

10x23/11x01 Meat Jekyll/Shockwaves is the culmination of Season 10's serial killer arc but not the conclusion of that story. It is fantastic whump. I think it'll probably hit even without backstory

11x15 Targets of Obsession

There is a lot of emotional whump in 8x17/9x01 but warning for MCD. Ted Danson joins the cast in season 12 and I really enjoy his character. I also feel like his presence allows Nick to come into his own as an investigator whereas there would also be a little more mentor/student to Nick and Grissom's relationship.

Pairing: Arizona Robbins x wife reader, reader x greys characters

Summary: reader and Arizona are married and have been keeping it extremely under wraps, everything is going okay until some of the interns decide they want to get on your service, leading to Arizona getting jealous and showing them who you belong to.

******************************************************** You walked through the front doors of Grey Sloan and headed straight for your office. You had some meetings to get to so you shot your wife a txt letting her know you’d see her during rounds. You were hired on a few weeks ago but haven’t been able to practice due to various meetings, you were a triple board certified general/obstetric/trauma surgeon who used to be chief of trauma at another hospital. You were dressed to the nines waking in your suit with coordinating stilettos your white coat, after your last 2 hour meeting with Dr. Bailey you rounded a corner running into your wife who was looking down at a chart.

“Arizona!” You said catching her in her tracks.

“Oh god Y/N you scared me.” She said laughing between you. She turned pulling you into one of the on call rooms, “How’d this morning go?”

“Oh you know the usual, they want to know everything about who I am, why I choose this job, why I started in OB and then jumped to general and then trauma…”

“Well I’m sure they loved you I mean I definitely do, though I wouldn’t have been able to focus with you looking like this.” She pulled back taking in the sight before her, your dress pants with the heels hugging your legs and butt in all the right places, your button up had the top three buttons undone revealing just enough breast to still be business but to look amazingly sexy, the way your white coat hugged your arms and how your curls fell perfectly from your bun.

“Get used to it because you’re going to be seeing a lot more of it.” You said placing a quick kiss on her lips.

“You won’t hear any complaints from me Mrs. Robbins.”

“Mm…it’s Dr. Sinclair right now.”

“You’re only helping your case.” She said ghosting over your lips again running delicate fingers tips over the v neck of your shirt, “but unfortunately I do have interns I have to attend to.”

“Yea, I have to go grab my charts and then meet you to do rounding.”

“see you then.”

“sounds good.” You said swatting at her butt as she swayed her hips out the door. You quickly grabbed your charts and made you way down the hall rounding the corner and standing behind a group of eager interns. Who whispered amongst themselves while Arizona, Dr. Bailey, and Dr. Grey stood in front.

I wonder who the new doc is, I wanna know what specialty they are, I bet it’s some old rich white guy, not even 24 hours on the floors and you have people talking. You made eye contact with your wife as she waved you forward, you stepped up next to the other doctors and the whispering stopped abruptly, busted you thought to yourself.

“Good morning interns and welcome to Grey Sloan memorial hospital, I am Dr. Miranda Bailey chief of surgery for the hospital and I am happy to be meeting you all.” She introduced herself and then you went down the line Grey for general, Robbins for PEDs, and then you the new head of trauma.

“I guess it’s my turn,” you all laughed, “I am Dr. Y/N Sinclair and I’m the new head of trauma.”

the next couple weeks went by fairly smoothly, well for a trauma department that is, the interns were always swarming trying to scrub in on the next big surgery. At first you both noticed the whispers and requests that turned into, “I’ll get your coffee,” and then that turned into other favors. You let it slide for a little bit until one day a young laboring mom was being life lighted in with severe trauma injuries, of course all the interns swarmed you and Arizona trying to get in on the surgery.

“Hey Dr. Sinclair?” One of the girls asked.

“Yes?”

“Can I talk to you?” This interns was promising and had been shy through her journey you were waiting for her to take the step and seize the opportunity.

“Sure, though it’ll have to be here cause we’re prepping for this surgery.”

“With her here?” She said shyly gesturing to Arizona who stood across from you at the nurses station.

“Is there a problem with Dr. Robbins being here?” you smiled at the shy intern, you'd seen her interact with Arizona before and saw how she was shy and nervous every time your wife was around, you assumed she had a girl crush whether she admitted it or not and you thought it was hilarious, you just didn't realize that it wasn't Arizona.

“No I um… I wanted to know if I can scrub in today,” she said redirecting her attention back to you and quickly realizing that you had analyzed her entire interaction.

“You know I think I’d be okay with that as long as Dr. Robbins doesn’t mind.” you looked over to Arizona who slowly looked up and nodded.

“Sounds like a plan to me.” She smiled at the young doctor, who quickly scurried away, face flushed red.

“Wow, you’re quite intimidating.” Arizona said looking at you and you chuckled to yourself watching the intern retreat.

“You think so?” You eyed curiously, laughing at your wife. She slowly shook your head and chuckled to herself.

"I think she has a crush on you." you joked.

"Oh no Love, that's all you, she's intimidated by you and definitely wants a piece of you, too bad you're already taken," she said jabbing at your arm.

"Really? there's no way."

"Babe I've seen a lot of people look at you like that, I looked at you like that except I made up my mind that I was going to make you mine."

"Haha very funny."

"Yeah but you know I'm right, that's why you have my last name," she said getting close to you before teasingly turning away.

Not 15 minutes later you were standing outside the OR and Arizona had told you she would meet you there with updates and to scrub in. You heard a knock on the door and wondered who would be asking permission to come in.

“Come in.”

“Mm the mysterious Dr. Sinclair, I heard you’re letting one of us scrub into your surgery.” you looked up greeted by another young female intern.

“Yes, do you have a problem with that?”

“Only if I'm not the one scrubbing in… I wanted to ask you if you had any plans tonight, you're smart and extremely hot, like dirty sexy hot and I um… I would be willing to treat you right to a night of drinks and fun and then maybe help with some stress relief after this case.” She ran her fingertips over your bicep and stepped in closer. What you both didn’t know was Arizona was right outside the door, she slowly entered as you were responding to the intern.

You looked at the intern shocked by how forward she was, a lot of people didn't know about you and Arizona, not that you hid your marriage you just weren't openly showing it in certain settings, but you still wore a ring, even in the OR you wore one, and when in business attire you had a pretty nice diamond on your finger that was hard to miss.

“Okay, first I’m married, to an amazing woman who just so happens to be a world-class surgeon at this hospital for that matter, and If I recall you said you had another case you were working on so I would say that takes precedence, there will always be other cases.”

“I’m sure your wife wouldn’t mind…”

“Oh, I’m sure she would.” Arizona interrupted, walking over to you and crossing her arms behind you.

“She's your...I…um… Dr. Robbins, I didn’t see you there… I, um.”

“I think you were just leaving.” You said coldly, as she watched like a deer in the headlights quickly turning to run out of the room.

“And that is why I love you.”

“Arizona…”

“I know, I know…” you finished scrubbing in and while gowning up she walked over to you.

“I know I probably shouldn’t do this but good luck, and thank you for earlier.” She said and leaned up to kiss you. You could hear the gasps from the gallery as others watched this unfold and finally realized who exactly you were married to Meredith and Bailey both smirked at each other and they now didn't have to keep your little secret. But you didn’t care you were about to save lives with your wife, and there was nothing more that you’d rather be doing.

“Okay people let’s save some lives tonight.”

The Skull Dilemma

Dr. Solomon was in his study when the goblin came in. The creature had mossy, green fur and was wearing a human skull like a hermit crab wearing a shell. "Hello, Prong. What can I do for you?"

Prong bowed. "I'm feelin' a mite guilty about me new home, Doc." "Goblins feel guilt?"

"We don't, mostly," Prong said. "But the ghost attached to this skull keeps whinging on about me robbin' his grave. Could you be a dear and throw him in one o' yer supernatural prisons?"

Dr. Solomon laughed. "Making you feel bad isn't a crime."

"Yes," the goblin nodded, "but ye olde Spirit Treaty o' 1666 bans all manner of hauntings, ghostly infestations, possessions, and the like."

He sighed. "Except in cases of disturbed or displaced remains, which of course this is." He stood, brushing the wrinkles from his coat. "What is the ghost's name?"

"If I recall the headstone correctly, I believe the feller was called Rip."

"That's not… Never mind." He waved his hand. A shadow appeared, black with pinpoints of light like a night sky. "Spirit, what is your name?"

"Ellis."

"How can I help you rest?"

"Tell this creature to return my bones!"

Prong glowered. "No goblin would ever be so cowardly as to surrender his home! It's a disgrace! It would dishonor my goblinny ancestors! And besides, I already decorated."

"Can I offer you a new home?" Dr. Solomon asked. He gestured to the mystical artifacts lining his study. "You are free to haunt any of these, if you like."

"Actually, I miss dancing at parties," Ellis said. "Do you have any fancy clothes I could haunt?"

He nodded. "I suppose I could spare a suit, or a tailcoat."

"Actually... I was never brave enough to dress how I liked when I was alive." He looked away. "Could I haunt a gown?"

Dr. Solomon smiled. "I think that could be arranged."

"Men recall seeing Elvis at Lawton, Oklahoma in 1955"

The McMahon Memorial Auditorium is a staple for entertainment in the Lawton community and has been for almost 60 years. Those who call Lawton home can remember attending shows of famous singers, musicians, off-Broadway shows, and of course, performances by multiple community talents. During the 1960s and 70s, Lawton had famous headliners at the auditorium, a so called "heyday." Lawton's touring chapter of the national Community Concerts Inc. would bring in the big acts and sell the tickets. Some acclaimed names that graced Lawton's home stage include Elvis Presley, Paul Revere and the Raiders, Doc Severinsen, Judy Collins, Count Basie, Glen Campbell, Tony Bennett, John Fullbright, John Raitt and many, many more. Lawtonians, Jay Davis and Allen Johnson, recall seeing Presley perform at the auditorium on June 19, 1955, (EIN Note - Elvis was actually at Magnolia Gardens, Houston on this date! Elvis was at Lawton on June 23)  just months before the King of Rock and Roll became The King.

Most likely, June 23 1955 at the McMahon Memorial Auditorium in Lawton, Oklahoma (8:00 PM). Elvis stands in the middle, behind his guitarist, Scotty Moore. Bassist Bill Black in on the far left. Local, Allen Johnson, stands next to Scotty Moore.

It was the summer after Davis graduated from Lawton High School and Johnson had finished his freshman year at the University of Oklahoma. The best friends attended the concert with a group of 12 friends and, Johnson said, "We didn't know who we were seeing." The group sat five rows back from the stage and saw multiple country singers. Davis and Johnson said Presley was the last one to perform. Davis remembered there couldn't have been more than 100 to 150 people in the 1,500-seat auditorium watching the soon-to-be rock star. "I remember he walked out on stage dragging his guitar," Johnson said. "He didn't do much dancing though," Davis replied. "Not like he did later on." Johnson, Davis, their dates and the rest of the group attended an after party at the Southern Club  an old country and western dance hall in Lawton on Lee Boulevard. The group was able to snag a photo with Presley and his musicians. FURTHER INFO: Elvis and the Blue Moon Boys performed on the Marty Robbins tour in 1955 at several venues, including at the Keesler Air Force Base, Biloxi, Mississippi, on June 27, 1955 at the Airman's Club (this is where he met June Juanico, who later wrote a book about their relationship) and, prior to that, at the City Auditorium, Beaumont, Texas on June 20, 1955 at 7 PM and 9 PM. Other entertainers at the show included Marty Robbins, The Maddox Brothers & Rose, and Sonny James.

team graveyard gsr reveal reactions: preface

@camilaar85 asked what exactly might go through the minds of grissom and sara's teammates—including not just the other csis but hodges, wendy, doc robbins, super dave, brass, sofia, and ecklie, too—when they learn the truth of grissom and sara's relationship during the events of episodes 07x24 "living doll" and 08x01 "dead doll."

since tumblr now has this shitty 4096-character limit per post, i've had to break up my response into several parts, which you will be able to find here, once they're all posted.

so i've talked about this issue at more length here, but the way the show treats the team’s reaction to grissom and sara’s “coming out” is, frankly, weird.

for a full season, the writers have their fun playing narrative games involving grissom and sara’s secret relationship—letting the fans in on what’s happening in episode 06x24 “way to go,” long before anyone on team graveyard also learns the truth, and then proceeding to tease the issue for the duration of s7.

from the season premiere on, they repeatedly float the possibility someone at the lab could find out grissom and sara are together, sometimes to comedic effect (such as when ecklie scares grissom and sara half to death with his “too close to home” insinuations in episode 07x01 “built to kill” pt. i) and other times much more dramatically (such as when the events of episode 07x13 “redrum” put sara on edge about how her teammates might react once they eventually learn of her and grissom’s grand deception).

here and there, they pepper in clues as to how various members on team graveyard might potentially respond when finally everything comes to light, hinting not everyone will likely be accepting either of the relationship itself OR of how grissom and sara have chosen to go about conducting it—having, for example, warrick ominously warn sara he hates being lied to (see episode 07x13 “redrum”) and nick express incredulity relationships between coworkers can ever thrive (see episode 07x22 “leapin’ lizards”).

this protracted writerly game of “will or won’t the other characters figure out the gsr secret?” finally comes to a head in episode 07x24 “living doll,” when after sara is abducted by the miniature killer, grissom blurts out to the team she is the “only person [he] ever loved,” at long last opening the door for them to have the same information the audience has already known about for the last twenty-four episodes.

but for all of the narrative build-up to this occasion, the strange thing is how much of a non-occasion it ultimately turns out to be.

after twenty-four episodes of teasing, with countless close calls and run-ins, heaps of foregrounding, and heaps more of innuendo, we are treated to a grand total of nine seconds’ worth of wordless immediate reaction from the team to grissom’s revelation in episode 07x24 “living doll,” then a single benign “what did you know about them?” conversation between nick and greg and some administrative probing from ecklie in episode 08x02 “a la cart,” and, thereafter, the issue of grissom and sara having kept their relationship a secret from their friends is never spoken of in-universe again.

while of course it is reasonable team graveyard wouldn’t put a pause on their investigative efforts to find sara during the events of episode 07x24 “living doll” in order to have some kind of formal conversation regarding the news of grissom and sara’s relationship the moment grissom makes his declaration, the notion they never seem to have any kind of conversation—either formal or otherwise—about the news subsequently, even after sara is safe and sound, is, honestly, a bit unbelievable.

are we really to understand all the more discussion which ever takes place surrounding this issue is just some lighthearted “hey, did you have any idea this relationship was going on before grissom told everyone about it? no? well, shucks! me, neither” breeze-shooting between nick and greg (and four and a half months after the fact, to boot)? shouldn’t gossip of this magnitude be more of a talking point around the lab? and shouldn’t we get to see more of that talking happen on-screen, for all it was foregrounded throughout s7?

that we never get to see/hear the team really respond to the relationship or the deception either amongst themselves or to grissom and/or sara after the big reveal is weird, and what’s weirder still is no one on the team is shown to have any kind of personal reaction to learning about either thing.

no one’s relationship with grissom and/or sara seems to change at all after they “come out.”

emphasis on at all.

for all of the show’s previous hinting various team members might have complicated feelings about being lied to or even just having two coworkers dating each other contrary to departmental policy, none of that foregrounding amounts to anything, as no one on the team has any measurable reaction to the news of grissom and sara’s relationship whatsoever.

no one really seems all that happy for them.

no one really seems all that put off by them.

they’re all just completely neutral.

i mean, they barely even acknowledge what by all accounts should be a truly massive revelation to them.

of course, some of this weird nonreaction on the part of the team could in theory be attributable to the four and a half-month in-universe time jump between the events of episodes 08x01 “dead doll” and 08x02 “a la cart.”

like.

maybe we could chalk up everyone’s nonchalance to the passage of time within the universe of the show—assuming people do have their reactions, only we just don’t get to see them happen on-screen, because presumably they take place during the off-screen interval between sara’s rescue and her return to work.

but the thing is, if such reactions do happen off-screen, then there is absolutely no fucking trace of them ever having happened once the events of episode 08x02 “a la cart” transpire, to the point where, functionally, they may as well never have taken place at all, insofar as we as the audience are concerned.

for all intents and purposes, there is no “new normal.”

the boys have not developed a habit of teasing sara about being in a relationship with the bug man. hodges isn’t constantly trying to pry into grissom’s love life. brass never rolls his eyes after catching grissom and sara giving moony looks to each other in the hall. even when the issue of graveyard shift being shorthanded without sara comes up, catherine never once says anything, either smug or conciliatory, about the consequences of “fishing off the company pier.”

the show outright refuses to acknowledge anyone’s feelings about grissom and sara might have changed, either for better or for worse, in the wake of them “coming out” and starting to live openly as a couple. there is just a total dearth of in-text response to this sea change.

—all of which is to say:

in attempting to answer your question, i have to operate in a strange space between what we actually see in canon—which is across the board neutral acceptance—vs. what i think we should have seen in canon, given the characters’ internal values, relationships with grissom and sara (both individually and as a couple), feelings regarding deception, relative faithfulness or unfaithfulness to departmental rules, etc.
