Do you see viktor and elsa’s relationship as platonic or romantic?
Tumblr media
Okay so how long do you have
My personal interpretation is that they have feelings for each other... I go back and forth on how to contextualize that but I don't feel limited to one interpretation either, it's fun to consider different scenarios and I think their relationship is pretty ambiguous regardless. I love their characters and history and the way they seem to share a really unique and meaningful bond so I enjoy it any way you spin it, but I think them having feelings for each other adds this additional layer of tension and tragedy
I almost see them being friends as too straightforward and I don't think they're the kind of people who can have uncomplicated relationships. Even if Elsa wasn't married, with the circumstances of Viktor's separation from his wife I can't imagine him with a healthy attitude about having any kind of romantic feelings let alone being in a "normal" relationship again. But at the same time I think she would naturally fall into that hole in his life like how Ivy did for his daughter. Whereas even though Elsa has her husband and brother I'm not sure if she shares that "common ground" with them that she says she has with Viktor
My vision is that they seem to connect in a way they don't with other people and they care about each other a lot but in a way that can never be fully realized. Anyway to answer your question: Yes

Childe listens.
he will listen to your problems, your woes. he will sit next to you, take you in his arms, and soothe you merely by allowing you to speak. you've done the same for him, countless times- it is only good that he returns the favor, and he wants to. Childe wants to hear about everything that makes you angry, everything that causes you to weep. he cannot fix them, but he can treat you gently, kindly, let you know you're cared about.
and inevitably Foul Legacy will emerge, overcome with joined sorrow for you. he tries to keep his tears under control as he purrs, stuttering and nudging against you. he takes the droplets of your frustrations and wipes them away, flicking them into the air and making tiny whales swim around you so perhaps you can laugh and smile again. your Abyssal monster gathers you into his arms, resting your head on his lilac fluff and trilling gently, in reassurance and affection. no longer will you have to mend other's troubles while having everyone ignore your own.
with Childe and Foul Legacy, you are not invisible anymore.

it does kinda make me want to cry like suguru saw these vengeful women and accepted their anger & hatred / chose to become One with them . in a sense. gojo is the only person strong enough to bear the curse that is Suguru Geto but suguru himself is the only one with the ability to bear the suffering of curses …. and many of these curses are conveniently women . his strongest ones. like okay ……

Hello!
Regarding your recent post on Alessandra, did they meet at college or University? I’m pretty sure Peter had a thought or brought it up at one point either with Dick or during his thinking moments.
Tumblr media
yeah they met in college! they didn't start dating until a couple years of friendship, and they don't have peter until they're 32 and 31. they're one of those annoying couples who make other people believe in love at first sight and soulmates. really gross (beloved). this was in chapter 13, when peter learned that dick is dating wally in this universe (and he still knows nothing about his mom in this universe)

day 356
BIG fan tbh. in this house we love and respect timerails
truly yall read this log and tell me theyre not cute
#day 356#year 4#dave strider#aradia megido#aradave#homestuck#she really saw this kid and was like OH YOU HAVE ISSUES WITH YOUR MORTALITY?? :D#boy do i have some relevant life experience and wisdom to impart on THAT ISSUE SPECIFICALLY#and then she just. very gently and kindly makes the subject more approachable for ghostdave#the pesterlog i linked is literally my FAVORITE aradia moment. to me it is THE character defining moment for god tier aradia#yes she is being kind of ominous and trickstery at first#but it VERY quickly becomes clear shes got genuine concern for this kid she's had very little to do with up until this point#she really wants to connect with him over their shared time aspect stuff#and she really DOES care about how he feels about everything. she wants to help and she wants to put him at ease#because she KNOWS from experience that being dead and having to cope with what that means for you is like VERY UPSETTING AND TRAUMATIC#shes not just like. 'hee hee i think death is great and awesome because im edgy'#shes like 'no dude being dead is scary if you dont have anybody to explain this shit to you. so im going to explain it-'#'-and hopefully by the end of this conversation you will have some new things to feel relief and maybe even joy and excitement about'#'not just in spite of the death thing but BECAUSE of it'#i know shes spooky and has weirdgirl swag and we all love that about her but like#at her core she is a very KIND person. she may occasionally struggle to connect to people through the Death Special Interest Haze#but she WANTS to and when she DOES she is like. a genuinely very warm and comforting presence for her friends#ANYWAY. if andrew hussie or i guess james roach now want to give me an honorary doctorate for my 12+ years of intensive aradia studies#i will be here waiting patiently#timerails

Those latest Beast!Ganon concepts are really, REALLY Cool! One of my favorite aspects is that they diverge a bit more from the usual "big boar monster" design tropes that we see in canon and incorporate other elements. The wide, flat tail that almost looks amphibic or aquatic is a personal fave, together with the feet being rather wide, and the whole profile being long and low (relatively^^) to the ground makes almost look like some aquatic monster or dragon that rises out of some cursed swamp or something.
Great vibes all around, kudos!
(kept this ask around bc i wanted to add some more concepts for the fight but then id have nothing truly new to put into the big ganondorf post so uuh this is an answer in text now)
Thank you! admittedly, other than taking calamity ganons .. or just its cloud like form really, as inspiration (somewhat beast ganon from twilight princess too, which is my favorite of his canon forms), i think alot of its design is really just ... a "me" thing, i love auqatic animals and the shapes are typical for my monster designs xD (i did want it to be both familiar and different though)
while i cant possibly make an entire attack pattern for him my idea does involve motions like 'swimming' through the ground (turning the ground into malice and swimming through it? straight up burrowing but hes so strong solid stone and earth is like water to him? move this phase to a sandy area so its also a mimic of moldoras? (closest to the forgotten plateau, which is where the end fight is, would be the taobab grassland, which isnt fully sand but more similar, might do soemthign else with that place though, maybe a big horse research site))
(i also dont want all his magical moves, both in beast form and all his other ones, to depend on malice, malice is what fuels his life now, the rage and unbreakable spirit to live, to resist, to not succumb to the schemes of the queen of hyrule of his time, to not fall against this one last descendant of her, he is much more than just hatred but it is what keeps him alive even when he should not be- so as he is skilled in wielding magic, perhaps skills that have since gotten rare (like your friends being the few ones to learn some) he will AT LEAST make use of lightning, if not perhaps even more, perhaps even mirroring what your friends can do directly, just like he will mimic links shiekah tech arm once he 'reforms' his missing arm via malice/taking it from the beast form- ......... and here i go rambling about stuff that will go into the big post ...)

Elain being an introvert doesn't mean she can never come alive when surrounded by the right people.
Tumblr media
What is said of Elain in ACOMAF:
Tumblr media
Introverts display extremely introverted behavior when not surrounded by people they feel they can connect with on an emotional level and that's why she's a shell of who she once was.
Despite Elain finding friends in the NC, we've yet to see this version of her there:
Tumblr media Tumblr media
The version where we see Elain shine, not the one she is in the NC where she needs to default to a more introverted state because she doesn't have that deep connection with anyone.
Just like that rose necklace, Elain needs to be exposed to light for her true colors to be visible.

woke up like 40 mins ago at like 4:30 unable to fall back alseep so im once again thinking about ragatha and pomni as The Ocd Havers. its everything to me. oh whoops i ran out of tags on this post
#i also saw a good post abt moral ocd followed by a wildly bad resoonse to it#like 10 mins after waking up#so im esp thinking abt ragatha moral ocd#i like giving them versions of ocd that are unpleasant and not cute and that people have a hard time even acknowledging as real forms of ocd#its probably me giving myself too much credit or holding myself to very silly idras but like#i wanna be able to depict the two or even just characters in general having ocd#in a way that could potentially help someone get a better idea of the different ways that ocd presents...#the amnt of ppl who responded to my ragatha ocd posts w 'wait i do this' is like its not necessarily GOOD to relate but also#i dont think all facets of ocd are well represented so its hard for people to figure that sorta thing out...#so in my heart im like maybe it could help to depict characters in a way i find cathartic and important bc then some ppl will Find Out#esp as someone who only even got diagnosed w ocd once it got bad enough that my therapist was concerned for my safety when i was like 18 ish#(true story... if youre thinking 'how could someone having ocd put their safety at risk'#research magical thinking ocd. andalso responsibility ocd and try connecting random dots and you might find it 👍#but also i think id need to add like 400 tws to this post if i actually elaborated)#point being. ragatha ocd and pomni ocd are dear concepts to me as someone with a very unfun version of ocd#ragathas themes to me are like. moral and responsibility. and yknow what maybe aprinkle in magical thinking too#pomnis themes to me are existential and sensory motor and a little bit of magical thinking too and harm ocd#i think they both would have other themes. after all ocd usually doesnt manifest as Just having a few themes and thats it#ppl usually have a Little Bit of most possible themes and then have some more prominently#and even then themes can shift over time...#i also think both of them have early onset ocd is good because i do too and i like it#ocd thats characterized by it worsening over time!!!!! thats them...#to me human younger pomni spent so much time with just right ocd compulsions#i also generally interpret pomni as having Some Sort Of Issues with anxiety or panic pre entering the circus already#so it relates to that . in my mind#and i do think the circus has made ragathas obsessions so much worse...#bit i think they did exist before the circus. just peobably got more extreme w trauma :(#bc the evil thing abt ocd is that it teams up w trauma. ypu WILL get obsessions related to trauma#ptsd already has unwelcome thoughts abt ur trauma as a component so ocd compounds it and gives you#fake new ways you come up with to ease the fear that if you dont do a compulsion itll Happen Again

লিখি লোৱা, মই এজন মিঞা ("Write Down 'I am a Miyah'", 2016) by Hafiz Ahmed, translated from Assamese to English by Shalim M. Hussain, began a movement of resistance poetry among Assamese Muslims of Bengali descent, referred to as Miya Poetry after a slur used to describe this community. From Abdul Kalam Azad, for Indian Express ("Write...I am a Miya", 2019):
This poem went viral and other young poets started responding to him through poems. The young poets also started reclaiming “Miya”, a slur used against us, as our identity with pride. This chain of Facebook posts continued for days, reiterating the violence, suffering and humiliation expressed by our community. As time passed, more poets wrote in various languages and dialects, including many Miya dialects. The nomenclature ‘Miya Poetry’ got generated organically but the poets and their associates have been inspired by the Negritude and Black Arts movements, and queer, feminist and Dalit literary movements, where the oppressed have reclaimed the identity which was used to dehumanise them. The trend transcended our community. Poets from the mainstream Assamese community also wrote several poems in solidarity with the Miya poets while some regretted not being poets. Gradually, this became a full-fledged poetry movement and got recognised by other poets, critics and commentators. The quality and soul of these poems are so universal that they started finding prominence on reputed platforms. For the first time in the history of our community, we had started telling our own stories and reclaiming the Miya identity to fight against our harassers who were dehumanising us with the same word. They accused us of portraying the whole Assamese society as xenophobic. The fact is we have just analysed our conditions. Forget generalising the Assamese society as ‘xenophobic’, no Miya poet has ever used the term ‘xenophobic’ nor any of its variants. The guilt complex of our accusers is so profound that they don’t have the patience to examine why we wrote the poems.
Amrita Singh, writing for The Caravan ("Assam Against Itself", 2019), detailed the political backlash against Miya Poetry, in particular the above poem.
On 10 July this year, Pranabjit Doloi, an Assam-based journalist, filed a complaint at Guwahati’s Panbazar police station accusing ten people of indulging in criminal activities “to defame the Assamese people as Xenophobic in the world.” Doloi claimed that the ten people were trying to hinder the ongoing updation of the National Register of Citizens, a list of Assam’s Indian citizens that is due to be published on 31 August. The premise of Doloi’s complaint was a widely-circulated poem called, “Write down I am Miya,” by Hafiz Ahmed, a school teacher and social activist. “Write. Write down I am a Miya/ A citizen of democratic secular republic without any rights,” Ahmed wrote. The police registered a first information report against Doloi’s complaint, booking all ten persons for promoting enmity between groups, among other offences. [...] At the press conference, Mander emphasised that people in Assam are in distress because of the NRC’s arbitrary and rigid procedures. “One spelling mistake when you are writing a Bengali name in English … that is enough for you to be in a detention center, declared a foreigner,” Mander said. “If you are not allowing this lament to come out in the form of poetry, then where is this republic of India going?”
Ahmed's poem is influenced in structure by "Identity Card", a 1964 poem by by Palestinian poet Mahmoud Darwish which uses the symbolic figure of the Palestinian working man to confront Israeli occupiers. Darwish's identity card, a symbol of Israeli subjugation transformed into a cry of Palestinian national identity, is reshaped by Ahmed into the National Register of Citizens for Assam and the accompanying fear of statelessness and disenfranchisement for the Miya people.
This solidarity between writers from oppressed groups is, of course, not one that ends with Darwish and Ahmed, nor with the Black, queer, feminist, and Dalit influences of Miya Poetry. As long as there is oppression, there will be companionship and recognition reflected in art and activism. On December 13, 2023, Black Agenda Report reprinted Refaat Alareer's "If I Must Die", acknowledging the connection between Alareer's poem and "If We Must Die" by Claude McKay, written in 1919 in response to the Red Summer white supremacist riots. In 2000, Haitian community activist Dahoud Andre translated "If We Must Die" into Kreyòl, and the Black Agenda Report editorial honors Alareer in a similar way, reprinting "If I Must Die" with an accompanying Kreyòl translation. (POEM: If I Must Die, Refaat Alareer, 2023.)

Identity Card Mahmoud Darwish, 1964 trans. Denys Johnson-Davies
Put it on record. I am an Arab
And the number of my card is fifty thousand I have eight children And the ninth is due after summer. What's there to be angry about?
Put it on record. I am an Arab
Working with comrades of toil in a quarry. I have eight children For them I wrest the loaf of bread, The clothes and exercise books From the rocks And beg for no alms at your door, Lower not myself at your doorstep. What's there to be angry about?
Put it on record. I am an Arab.
I am a name without a title, Patient in a country where everything Lives in a whirlpool of anger. My roots Took hold before the birth of time Before the burgeoning of the ages, Before cypress and olive trees, Before the proliferation of weeds.
My father is from the family of the plough Not from highborn nobles.
And my grandfather was a peasant Without line or genealogy.
My house is a watchman's hut Made of sticks and reeds.
Does my status satisfy you? I am a name without a surname.
Put it on record. I am an Arab.
Color of hair: jet black. Color of eyes: brown. My distinguishing features: On my head the `iqal cords over a keffiyeh Scratching him who touches it.
My address: I'm from a village, remote, forgotten, Its streets without name And all its men in the fields and quarry. What's there to be angry about?
Put it on record. I am an Arab.
You stole my forefathers' vineyards And land I used to till, I and all my children, And you left us and all my grandchildren Nothing but these rocks. Will your government be taking them too As is being said?
So! Put it on record at the top of page one: I don't hate people, I trespass on no one's property.
And yet, if I were to become hungry I shall eat the flesh of my usurper. Beware, beware of my hunger And of my anger!

I think we don't talk enough about the simple but genius fact that the eggs are played by admins.
Like with the ccs' characters, you're almost guaranteed that their death will be a choice form the cc themself, and will give some sort of satisfying conclusion to the character's story, even if them dying is sad.
But with the eggs? Being played by people who are not there to be the stars of the show but support the ccs? Death will always be brutal and accidental and unfair. It adds actual stakes in a world full of immortal characters who can just respawn infinitely.
Suddenly, there's a more important reason as to why you're playing and grinding for good gear, beyond just enjoying the game. You can't let your kid die. They WILL die if you don't take care of them. They WILL get killed by a random monster or The Evil NPC of the week if you're not careful. And once they're gone, they're gone.
Yeah, maybe if the admin stays an admin, you'll cross paths with them as another NPC, but it'll never be the same relationship again. You'll never see your kid again.
And that's suuuuuch a good tool for storytelling.

I completely get Sakito not being that interested in the BBG. I think people forget that it's a year long race and Sakito likes being able to do his own thing, so being locked into racing for a whole year just wouldn't be for him.
