Controversial opinion but unless Steve and Eddie were friends prior to season 4, he's not going to be like spending all of his time at his bedside in the hospital 😭 if he's going to be that overprotective and not leave the hospital it's bc he is sleeping on the floor next to Max's bed, he's the one who thought she was gone too long! She gave him a letter! He's been looking out for her since S2! Like I'm sorry but a whirlwind infatuation is not going to take precedence over one of his kids/surrogate siblings???

Ok well i had the brief thought “what about an ER nurse Eddie au?” and then this popped fully formed into existence so fuck it Friday pt 2.. warnings for smoking and vague references to critically injured kids
“That doesn’t seem very healthy.”
Smoke curls up from the cigarette held loosely in Eddie’s hand. “It’s not, particularly.”
Buck’s hands are in his pockets as he strolls away from the glass doors out into the ambulance bay where Eddie is doing the mature, professional equivalent of playing hide and seek. He comes to a stop barely a foot or two away from where Eddie leans against grimy concrete. “Didn’t know you were a smoker.”
“I’m not,” Eddie sighs, “Particularly.” He looks over Buck’s face as he takes a drag, cataloging bruises and cuts. He hadn’t been the one to look him over before he was discharged, probably because he was out here avoiding having to do so. “Only when it’s- only after the bad shifts.” And only once a month, even if the bad shifts come again and again. He bought this pack in January, it’s stale as shit.
Buck’s eyes follow the smoke as it drifts skyward. “Rough one today?”
Eddie thinks he probably doesn’t have to explain to Buck that it’s sometimes better when a kid is dead on arrival so he doesn’t have to try his best to administer care he knows will be useless. He doesn’t have to explain a day where nothing goes right and he loses more people than he can save and he still has to walk away from someone’s parent or wife or sister, left behind forever in a waiting room on the worst day of their life, and go on to lose the next person too. Doesn’t have to explain why he’s out here, and not in there. “Mm. We’ve got this repeat customer, always hate to have him back.”
Buck’s eyes flick to his face before they settle somewhere around his elbow. “Yeah?”
“Yeah. He seems like a nice guy. I worry about him. He’s here too often.”
Buck doesn’t look up. “What was he in for this time?”
“Minor concussion. Bruising. Lacerations.” Eddie sucks cancer into his lungs. “Heard a house fell on him.” Exhales it into the night.
Buck does look up this time, eyes a darker blue out here in the shadows. “Part of a house. Just a staircase and the- like, the balcony, really.”
“Maybe he should stay away from those.”
“From houses?” Buck asks, half his mouth twitching into a smile.
Eddie rests his head on the wall behind him. “Guess that’s not really practical.”
“No.” Buck is quiet for a moment, one hand slipping out of his pocket and running through his hair. Eddie wonders what he looks like, when he’s not here. He’s more styled, sometimes, when things aren’t very bad. He wonders if he’s usually all gelled up and neat. Eddie kind of likes the loose curls. “I’m sorry.”
“For what?”
“Making your day worse.” Buck looks genuinely apologetic, and Eddie shakes his head.
“The guy made it out okay this time.” Buck is just close enough that Eddie can kick at his boot with his sensible orthopedic sneaker. “You didn’t even need stitches.”
“That’s good.” Eddie’s left foot is pressed along the inside of Buck’s right, and Buck is staring down at them. “His favorite nurse was on break. I would have missed you if someone else had to do them.”
Eddie laughs, just a few bursts of soundless oxygen. “You gotta find new ways to see me before something happens that I can’t fix.”
Buck moves, taking the few steps necessary to lean against the wall beside him. Carefully, he takes the cigarette from Eddie’s hand, holds it between two of his own fingers, and takes a drag. Eddie watches it happen like he’s monitoring somebody’s pulse ox, and when Buck coughs he laughs again, louder this time. “Fuck,” Buck says, laughing too. “Thought that would be cooler than it was.”
“Smoking isn’t cool, firefighter Buckley,” Eddie says, taking the cigarette back and pulling from it again between smiling lips.
“Hm,” Buck says, grinning out into the night. Then he sighs, and rolls his head along the concrete to look at Eddie. “I think there’s nothing you can’t fix.”
They’re very close. “There’s lots I can’t fix.”
Buck shrugs like he disagrees. “I also think I’d like to find other ways to see you.”
Buck’s eyes are even more in shadow at this angle, and they’re the color of the lake back in El Paso that he and a bunch of kids went to after graduation, drunk off beer somebody’s cousin got for them, skinny dipping with breathless terrified delight under bright constellations. “Then ask me.”
Buck inhales as Eddie exhales. “What time’s your shift end?”
“5:30 AM. So, probably 6:15.”
Buck traces the two fingers he’d used to hold the cigarette down Eddie’s arm. “You wanna get breakfast with me?”
“Yes. I would.”
Buck smiles, and Eddie snubs out the cigarette on the wall between them. “I’ll meet you here?”
“Alright.” He takes a step forward, then a step to the right so he’s standing in front of Buck. “Two hours.”
“Uh huh.”
He should really get back inside. They’re understaffed, as always, and there are too many patients, as always, and not enough beds, as always. “See you then.” He doesn’t make any move to leave.
“See you then,” Buck almost whispers. He leans forward, and Eddie still doesn’t move, so he presses a tiny kiss to the corner of his mouth for just a moment. His lips are warm. Eddie hadn’t noticed it was cold outside.
Buck pulls back and leans against the wall again. Eddie smiles, puts a hand in his pocket, and walks back toward the doors.

buck and eddie's conversation on the fountain in merry ex-mas gets infinitely funnier to me every time it's like: your estranged wife who you're sleeping with on the DL comes to your place of work and announces to your nosiest co-worker and best friend that you can't talk without fucking, your platonic male bestie ✨ is absurdly quiet about the whole situation which is very uncharacteristic of him so you invite him to bring your son to a mall santa whilst wondering if you can ever trust your wife with your son again, once said child is out of hearing distance you bring up your bestie's silence, bestie replies that it's none of his business and you agree in a way that sounds like you're begging him to question every life decision you've ever made before immediately launching into a full explanation of the situation despite no homo bro sitting there awkwardly listening after doing the absolute Most to avoid this conversation because he's been talking about the situation with his future brother-in-law whilst christmas tree shopping, then he commiserates with you about the never-ending complications of sex with women, both of you are exactly three seconds away from wondering aloud whether sex with men is simpler, but then your son returns from santa's village with an elf who will tell your work husband that the two of you have an adorable son and he will skip away without denying this. just normal best friend things <3

the fact that buck didn't start smiling or try to play it off as a joke when eddie asked if he was okay. bc with maddie and the others he felt like he had to be okay FOR them. like they were waiting for him to fall apart but he just couldn't allow himself that, because no matter how much he loves them, he can never be truly vulnerable with them without feeling like a burden. but with eddie, he doesn't have that. eddie is his safe place, the person who has seen him at his worst and let buck see him at his worst. so no, he didn't play dying off as a joke bc this was eddie and eddie never needed him to pretend to be alright, he only needed him to be there, alive and with eddie. that's the difference.
it really boils down to buck saying "you don't need to pretend with me" in s5. because they don't, they really don't have to pretend with each other and now that eddie is in a better place he can recognize that and apply it to their relationship as well.

On The Topic Of Eddie.
First of all, he’s completely fucked. He’s screwed. I’ve said it a thousand times and I’ll say it again: I’ve never seen a character more doomed by the narrative.
Second, Eddie’s halloween costume was Frankenstein’s Monster. And pray tell, what was the Monster’s whole thing? That he’s betrayed by his own creator, rejected / attacked by the town, deeply misunderstood & interpreted as a violent beast despite being well-read and helpful/benevolent. There are some interesting ties there - especially with the Misunderstood Despite Being Well-Read (switch out violent beast with forgetful klutz and it’s a perfect fit). That, plus Eddie’s description of “...brought back from the dead… by the scientist… stitches… a deathly pallor… a bit of a moral conundrum…”
Take that and add it to how Eddie resembles the “night” side of the clocks (this will be expanded upon with Sally in a different post), and how @/theneighborhoodwatch once pointed out that the color purple is only shown in relation to Eddie & may represent secrets, how in livestream trivia it was implied that Eddie doesn’t sleep at night as he is a “busy guy”, and how Sally’s “monster” only comes out at night and likely isn’t a monster at all - she is dramatic, an embellisher, and said to present things that she herself doesn’t know / is uncertain of As Fact, or at least present them as if she knows exactly what she’s talking about (even when she doesn’t and knows it).
Another tidbit that I may have mentioned but I’ll bring it up again: Eddie’s eyelashes match the scalloped trim under Home’s windows. Three round curves.
As an additional tally in the “Eddie is soooo fucked <3” scoreboard, Eddie is the mailman in a story where one of the first things we knew to be actually happening was the WHRP receiving letters of Welcome Home media (now I’m not saying Eddie sent them, certainly not. He may or may not have had a hand in helping with the delivery, but what I mean with this is how it ties in symbolically/abstractly/thematically.) That plus the red envelope, the general unfolding delivery theme… Eddie even has a holiday explicitly associated with him - Mail-In Time Day.
Then there’s the fact that Eddie tends to express Knowledge and a more worldly disposition, in a way. Despite Frank being mentioned as the neighborhood “intellectual”, and he is so with facts, Eddie seems to have a deeper well of… let’s say cultural know-how. Pair that with how his bio is the only one to say/imply that he comes from elsewhere, that he’s been Around. Everyone else came from their family or don’t have a stated before, but Eddie? He was strongly implied to have delivered to a lot of different places - this is made into a running gag, but we all know a running gag for the Show has deeper implications and meanings.
And the fact that his genuine knowledge as well as his past are consistently dismissed and/or played off for laughs…
IMPORTANT NOTE FOR THIS NEXT BIT: I CANNOT FIND THE OG ASK OUTSIDE OF SCREENSHOTS SO TAKE ALL OF THIS WITH A MASSIVE GRAIN OF SALT, AS THERE IS THE POSSIBILITY THAT THE ASK WAS FROM PRE-2021 AND SO - ALONG WITH THIS SPEC CHUNK - IT MAY BE NULL & VOID. BUT IT ALSO MAY NOT BE! SO I’LL TALK.
A while back - this is related I swear - there was an ask Clown answered where they talked about some of his notes on Eddie. The first part that I want to point out is how apparently Eddie is a good source for information (specifically How-To), but despite being talkative he doesn’t share unless prodded for it. This directly relates to the above points.
Then there’s the one I really want to talk about - how Clown says that “He [Eddie] has a great deal of precision for someone who presents themselves as a semi-clumsy busybody!”
That single line made me insane, personally. First, the wording. The choice of saying presents themselves as instead of something like for someone who is. There’s an obvious discrepancy between his precision and clumsiness. Now I don’t doubt that he may be a tad accident-prone, but what if Eddie is dialing up the clumsy nature to disarm his Neighbors / craft a specific reputation for himself / give himself leeway in other areas.
On one hand, this is suspicious as fuck.
On the other hand, this is so adhd of him.
One of the things rarely mentioned about it is how sometimes we adhders will play up our more “useless” traits in order to create a bit of a social safety net. Admittedly, I will sometimes play up my forgetfulness so that a) if i do forget things (truth more often than not), people aren’t surprised. b) when i remember things, people are pleasantly surprised. I mean, if people start thinking we’re competent then they’ll start Expecting things from us, which is never a good thing!
And another thing that relates to it that that ask said - Clown says in it that Eddie is slow to anger, but he gets frustrated more easily. Which is fascinating and very relatable. They also said that he can’t talk about it without wandering too far, which - if the post is viable - has… implications.
Anyway I am very confident that Eddie is in fact adhd. List of reasons (refer to the wiki trivia Eddie Dear section for sources):
He’s forgetful
He gets so involved with a task and cannot break away until it’s finished, thus often making him late
He’s particular
He has a watch - likely to help him keep track of time, implying that he has difficulty with the concept (time blindness!)
He is very talkative and rambley
& seems to have slight difficulty with picking up on social cues telling him when to / when not to speak
He’s slow to anger but more easily frustrated
Beyond all of this I don’t have much to add that I haven’t already talked about in a previous post! I’m sure even so I’ve restated some (or a lot of) things - it Happens!
In conclusion: bbg is so screwed & also adhd <3

a little season 4 vol 2 "missing scene" but angst warning, it's canon compliant!
Eddie opens his eyes.
It shouldn't be a surprise, really, everyone opens their eyes thousand-million-billions of times, probably—Eddie's not very good a math. But still, he opens them, looks out into the world in front of him, and a stray thought flitters through his conscious that goes Wait, what? He can't really remember why, though, suddenly. Because—
Eddie opens his eyes. And Steve smiles at him.
"Hey," Steve says, easy as a breeze, no urgency, no brave-face. None of that fear hidden in his eyes when Eddie had asked him to make Vecna pay for him, to do something Eddie couldn't.
"Hey," Eddie says back, breathless.
Behind them, there's a noise, and Eddie almost turns around to look.
"Eddie," Steve says before Eddie moves. He holds out his hand, long fingers and trimmed nails and soft palms. He almost glows in the grey dark of the forest. "Come with me."
"Okay," Eddie says. And takes his hand.
Steve's smile grows, a flash of white teeth, and he laces their fingers together tightly as he begins to lead Eddie through the trees. There's another sound behind them, Eddie doesn't quite know what it is, but Steve pulls him away gently before Eddie can turn his head to look.
It sounded almost like someone crying.
They walk leisurely, like they don't have anywhere to be, and Eddie stares down at their hands linked together. Something squirms inside of him, almost a feeling of wrongness. He feels off balanced, but he doesn't feel scared. He feels like he should feel scared.
Steve squeezes his hand comfortingly. They can't hear the crying anymore.
"It's okay," Steve says, like he's reading Eddie's mind. "I don't ever want you to be scared. Not anymore."
It clicks then.
"You're not Steve," Eddie says. He comes to a stop.
Steve stops with him, doesn't try to pull him along, to force him to go. He turns back to Eddie, that sweet smile on his face. His thumb brushes against Eddie's, his touch warm and gentle.
"No," Steve admits.
"Are you Vecna?" Eddie feels like he should be shaking with fear, but he's not. Steve's hand in his makes him brave.
"No, no," Steve rushes to say. "I'm not here to hurt you Eddie, I promise. I'm only here to take care of you."
"Oh," Eddie swallows. He thinks about the person crying in the woods and he remembers Dustin leaning over him— "What, are you like, God or something?"
Steve shrugs. "Sometimes I am," he says, thoughtfully. He leans in close as he does, his other hand coming up to their joined hands. "Sometimes I'm Jesus Christ, sometimes I'm an angel. Sometimes I'm deities of other faiths. Most of the time I'm mothers."
"I—" Eddie starts and stops, suddenly overwhelmed. "I don't understand."
"That's okay," Steve says. He presses the back of Eddie's hand to his chest, and he can feel his heartbeat under his shirt. It's comforting, the steady rhythm, the warmth against his skin. "Take your time. We don't have to rush."
Eddie drags his other hand over his face, twitching when something tickles his cheek. There, on his left hand, tied to his ring finger, is a red string tied in a bow, with one long end hanging to the ground near his knees, the end of it frayed.
He tries to remember why he tied it there, what the reason was. But when he looks at Steve again, sees the sadness in his eyes, the sympathy, Eddie knows its something else. He doesn't want to ask.
"Why—" He croaks and clears his throat. Steve watches him patiently. "Why Steve then? If not my mom— If not an angel, or whatever."
"You know why," Steve says, indulgent. "At least part of that, you know exactly why."
Eddie clutches Steve's hand, fingers going tight in that gentle hold, knuckles white, his nails digging into flesh. Steve doesn't wince or shake him off, just gently tugs Eddie closer until they're standing toe to toe, heads bowing into each other. The short ends of Steve's hair brushes Eddie's cheek.
Eddie does know. Knows if it were his mom or his dad, angels or demons or gods, if they'd asked Eddie come with them, he wouldn't have. But he doesn't know why this, why Steve.
"He makes you brave," Steve says. He whispers it like a secret, says it into their joined hands, into Eddie's knuckles, into the breath between them. "He makes you feel safe." He reaches down and plucks the frayed end of the red string between two fingers, runs his thumb along the length of it, holds it like something precious in his palm. "He makes you hope."
A sob erupts out of Eddie then, and Steve releases Eddie's clinging hand to wrap him up in a hug, holds him as he cries. They stand there in the middle of this weird, other dimension as Eddie weeps harder than he ever has in his life, as Steve runs his fingers through his hair, humming a song that Eddie doesn't know the words to, doesn't recognize. Eddie lets himself hold him back, crushing Steve to him, just to feel a little more of that warmth, that steady heartbeat and gentle kindness. He gets it now, and he cries all the harder for it.
It was supposed to be his year.
"I know, honey," Steve murmurs, voice thick like he's crying, too, for the life Eddie doesn't get to live anymore. "I know, I'm so sorry."
Steve holds him until the tears stop, until Eddie's breathing evens out and he pulls himself away to scrub his hands over his wet face. He swallows a few times, trying to find his voice before he looks at him again.
He's still there when Eddie looks at him, that same gentle smile, the kindness of his eyes.
"What now?" Eddie asks, voice ragged.
Taking his hand again, his touch warm and soft, Steve says, "Come with me."
And Eddie goes.

Robin is Prince Steve's court mage.
She's instructed to protect him, to aid him and, although it wasn't a direct order from the King, she's to be his friend.
Wherever Steve goes, Robin is right behind him. She's there when his father makes him pick a girl to be his bride out of a line up, she's there to hold him as he cries when his mother's illness finally takes her, she makes it snow in his room when they've had a little too much of his father's expensive wine.
And she's there when Steve finds the boy in the woods.
He's been attacked by wolves, his horse lay motionless close by, and there's so much blood. Robin doesn't know what to do. She stands there shaking as Steve jumps off his horse and goes to the boy's side. He's still breathing, he reaches for Steve weakly and to Robin's surprise, Steve brings his bloody hand to his lips and kisses it.
"You're gonna be okay, Eds."
Steve turns to Robin. "You have to heal him, Robin, please." He's crying, he's crying for this boy that Robin has never seen. She knows everyone Steve is friends with, it's part of her job, but somehow Steve has kept this boy a secret from her. "I can't lose him, Robs, please!"
"Steve, I- I'm forbidden to use my magic on people outside of the royal family. You know this. Come we must go." The words hurt to say, but it hurt more to see the tears in Steve's eyes as he looked at her incredulously, like he didn't recognise her.
"Go, Steve- "
"No, Eddie, I'm not leaving you." He leans down and kisses Eddie's forehead before looking up at Robin, his eyes pleading for her to help. "I love him." He whispers, almost like he's afraid anyone but them will hear.
This is news to her, as far as she knew, Steve loved Nancy. She'd think he was lying but she can see it in his eyes, in the way his hands shake as he carefully brushes bloody hair out of the boys eyes and whispers comforting words to him.
She shouldn't do it, she'd be whipped in the town square for using something as precious as magic on anyone that wasn't royalty but she'd be hurting Steve if she walked away.
Robin sighs shakily and then shakes her head. She's sworn to Steve and everyone that he loves, which now included this boy currently bleeding in her prince's arms.
"Fuck, okay." She drops down to her knees next to the boy that had managed to steal her best friend's heart and and gently places her hands on his gaping wounds. "If I heal you, you have to promise to keep Steve safe." The guy gives a weak, shaky thumbs up. "There's no doubt we are being watched. We won't be safe." She's looking at Steve as she says this, she needs him to know the consequences, she needs him to know that if she heals him everything is going to change.
If he wants to be with Eddie they need to flee.
They both know the King would rather have no heir at all then have an heir that defies him, that goes behind his back and falls in love with a nobody.
"We'd already planned to leave tomorrow." Steve doesn't look at Robin when he says this and it hurts to know that he's been keeping so many secrets from her. They'd sworn to always be truthful with each other.
And now Steve has a secret lover that he was planning to run away with on his wedding day.
God, did Nancy know?
This was supposed to be a fun ride through the woods. They were supposed to pick flowers for Nancy and have a picnic under their favourite tree.
Now, everything is going to change because of one boy.
"Kinda bleeding out here." Eddie chokes and weakly gestures to his wounds.
"Right, yeah, sorry. This will hurt." She closes her eyes, ignores the feel of his blood on her hands, and focuses on stitching him back up. They won't have long after this.
Every use of her magic is tracked by the King's mage, they'll see this as an act of treason. She may be Steve's mage but she's also sworn to the crown, her magic isn't her own anymore.
"Will you come with us?" Steve asks, he's got Eddie's head in his lap now and he's using his very expensive shirt sleeve to gently wipe the blood off his face. Eddie winces every now and then as Robin sews him back together with her magic, she's only done this once before and it was when Steve drunkenly fell down the stairs after his engagement celebrations.
"I can't come with you, Steve." She says quietly and pulls her hands away from Eddie. He's still covered in blood but he's been healed, she even took care of the illness she felt whisper to her from within him. She needs him healthy, needs him to look after her prince. "They can track my magic, I will just give you away." She stands up and avoids Steve's tear filled eyes, she needs to be strong.
She walks over to where their horses are waiting and rests her forehead on her horse's face to hide her tears. "You may take my horse, only I can track her and that way I'll know where you are. You can send letters to my mother's house, I promise to read them all."
Giving away her horse is a big deal and Steve knows it.
The white thoroughbred is her familiar and one of the last shape shifters in the kingdom, a secret they have both kept since they were children. She's Robin's heart and soul and now she's giving her to Steve.
"I'll keep her safe."
They don't say much while they saddle up. Robin knows that if Steve even as much as looks at her with those big, sad hazel eyes, she'll break down, she'll beg him to stay or worse, she'll go with him. Every part of her aches to stay by his side but she knows it won't end well. The King would find them in a matter of hours.
Robin whispers quietly to her horse, tells her all the places they will be safe, while Steve helps a sore Eddie onto his horse, Robin forget to mention that his body will ache for a few days. "Can't believe I'm going for a ride on Prince Steve's stallion." Eddie says cheekily, his hair is matted with his own blood and there's dirt all over him, but Robin can see why Steve chose him.
She wishes she had more time to get to know the man Steve loves.
"Don't say good bye." Steve whispers into her hair, his arms crush her into an almost painful hug but it's okay, she's squeezing him just as tight. "We'll see each other again. I swear it."
"My heart will be with you wherever you go." She whispers, it's taking every ounce of control she has to not fall apart in Steve's arms. Her whole life is being tipped upside down and there's nothing she can do to stop it. She wishes there was some way for them to stay, wishes her magic was strong enough to keep them hidden in the kingdom but it's not.
She'd seen the King's mage's crow fly over head. It wouldn't be long until her treachery was reported to the King, until the King knew that his son is in love with someone that won't be able to continue his royal blood line.
Eddie would be killed if they stayed. Steve would he locked away and Robin doesn't want to think about what would happen to her.
She pushes those thoughts to the back of her mind. She needs to focus on these last fleeting moments she has with her best friend.
"Is there anything else you've been keeping from me that you'd like to share before you ride off into the sunset with your secret boyfriend?" She jokes through tears. They pull away from the embrace and rest their foreheads together, just like they used to as kids. She doesn't know when it became their thing but it soothes her aching heart to just be in the same space as her best friend.
Steve huffs out a laugh and says, "I never loved Nancy, she never loved me. She has eyes for someone else. You should comfort her in my absence." Steve pulls back fully and winks, his lips pulled up in a cheeky smile.
"Oh my god."
"She speaks fondly of you. Very fondly."
"Why didn't you tell me sooner!" Robin's smiling now, a blush staining her cheeks as she playfully shoves Steve's shoulder, but then her smile falters. "Does she know you're leaving?"
Steve nods and kicks a rock. "She met Eddie last week, she told me to go, she's packing my bag as we speak but I guess I'm not going to have time to go back and get it." He reaches for her hand and gives it a comforting squeeze. "That's why I wanted to go for a ride today, I was going to tell you everything and introduce you to Eddie but then the wolves got him." He looks over his shoulder at Eddie, who is talking to Steve's horse and sharing an apple with him. Gross. "Which I feel wasn't a coincidence."
Robin knows it wasn't a coincidence. Wolves don't live in this part of the woods, there's wards to keep them out. They'd have to be let in.
She doesn't want to tell Steve that.
So, she links their arms and walks him over to her horse. "He's a bit odd. Are you sure he's the one?" She says while watching as Eddie leans too far forward to feed the horse and nearly slips off.
Steve smiles fondly at him and nods his head, his crown glitters and catches the light that peaks through the trees. "I'm sure. You don't have to worry."
He hoists himself up on her horse and then leans down to press a kiss to Robin's forehead. "Take care of yourself, Robin. Thank you for everything. I'll see you again soon, yeah?"
They need to play pretend, need to ignore the truth that weighs heavy on them both.
That this really is good bye.
"I'll see you soon, my Prince." She whispers and steps away from the horse. "Tell me all about your adventures when we see each other again."
Steve inhales sharply and tries to hide the wobble of his bottom lip with a smile. "Until then."
And then they're off, riding side by side through the thick forest. Steve's laughter echoes around her as Eddie takes the lead and smiles back at Steve, his smile is bright and dazzling. He will keep her prince happy and that comforts her, even as she watches them slowly disappear.
She kisses three of her fingers and then blows the kiss out towards the retreating figure of Steve, her best friend, her brother, her soulmate.
"Good bye, my heart."

The biggest corroded coffin fan Steve Harrington posting his shitty, grainy camera footage of him singing one of their songs and leave it sitting on YouTube not expecting much to come from it. When he wakes up in the morning his phone is blowing up with notifications from all over his social media pages and he sees himself posted on the official corroded coffin page along on Eddie’s personal page. Eddie praises him for taking on such a difficult song and putting his own spin on it, this scores Steve a ticket and a backstage pass. Let’s just say even behind all those blurry pixels Eddie still saw the beauty in Steve :)
