I did some doodling after work and made pokemon teams for my OC's. They are NOT balanced for gaming this is pure vibes. Tobbe is Just A Guy (normal) and The Vendor is literally The Devil (Fairy)

A few days ago I woke up bleary eyed, sat down at my computer, and spat this out.

Mostly just a bit of goofy sketching but here's magical boy (magical man?) submas

I'm not gonna flesh this out a whole bunch since there's not much I can really do with it, but some rough notes:

Both of them have two soul stones, one in the hat and one in the staff. In their base uniform, the staff's stone is on the back of their gloves, separating when activated

They're only able to activate their abilities when they're with each other. Though they can both separately fight and return to normal, they need each other to begin the reaction and use their powers. Should one of them go missing, the other will not be able to use their abilities

The stone can be removed from the staff, returning to the hand if it is. The purpose of doing this is to replace it with a pokeball, allowing the staff to channel the pokemon's moves along with its standard attacks (electricity for Emmet, fire for Ingo)

Ingo and Emmet can trade (or steal) clothes mid transformation, switching pieces or entire uniforms. Emmet will typically borrow Ingo's darker gloves and boots if he expects to get particularly violent in battle, while Ingo usually takes Emmet's white accessories since he finds them more classy than his full black uniform

They are able to float in their magical forms, mostly using the levitation to run loops around their opponents and pressure them from all sides

The only opponent is literally Team Plasma, this power is reserved solely for beating grunts, sages, or Ghetsis should they ever cross paths (technically the code is to defend the world from evil but for any other issue they'll either settle it normally or with pokemon battling)

I need pokemon-experts opinion on this one because I don't know enough about Pokémons and wikis are mostly just listing their stats but don't go in detail about how is it they function as organisms

By that I mean, are they separate organisms that just prefer to operate in a group (so not a hive mind) or do they have something like telepathic link making them into more of a single mind operating multiple bodies (hive mind-like, multibodied entity)? Can they be separated, and if yes then what happens? Are their bodies ever in conflict or is it always a perfect agreement? Do different bodies share senses?

I know there are also Pokemons who are like having the same body but multiple heads, but I'm not interested in those, only the kind that are technically separate and can have distance between bodies

A scene from my fic in which River pulls a silly and nearly causes Neesha to spit a tray of hot cocoa out of her mouth.

Story snippet below!

On the reception desk, there’s a laptop. A big, bulky looking laptop. That gets me thinking, gets my mind active. Maybe we could learn more about what this place used to be? Assuming the laptop’s battery isn’t totally dead anyway. We could-

“Hey, Neesha! Look at me.”

River’s voice grabs my attention away from the laptop sitting on the reception desk and find River staring at me from the couch. She’s got the blanket wrapped completely around her body, head included, minus her face, of which she’s got a big, dumb, happy grin on.

“I’m a Swadloon!”

“Pfffmmph!” I really, really had to stifle a laugh, almost spit the dang tray out of my mouth. I pick up my pace and place the tray down on the table- making sure to spit any tray residue out of my mouth and away from the drinks. “Pfhlech! Eugh- River, you can’t just do that to me when I’m carrying something in my mouth!” I say in jest with a laugh, River just smiling back at me, giggling.

“Sorry, had to do it.” She chuckles, unwrapping herself slightly so she can reach out for her cup.

I roll my eyes and hop onto the couch beside her, the cushions still nice and comfy even after all this time. Letting out a sigh, I reach forward for my own cup before turning to face her. “I hope you’re doing okay. You looked ready to drop dead both times we got out of the cold.”

She snuggles back into her blanket and rests her head against the couch, lifting her cup up to her mouth., blowing gently on her drink. “I’m fine! Being in the cold for too long really takes a toll on us grass-types but it’s nothing a little warming up can’t fix. I’d even say that ice-type attacks aren’t anywhere near as cold as the weather outside.”

“So, you’d say ice-types are more like lukewarm-types?” I say, hoping to get back at her.

To my dismay, though, she doesn’t do anymore more than a quick laugh as she glances at me. “Not even a little. But nice try, though.” She leans back against the couch once again, sinking into her blankets as she takes a sip of her drink. “Gosh, that feels even better after being stuck outside for so long.”

I glance out one of the windows, watching as snow pelts it, waves of snow rushing over the ground in the wind as barren branches of trees sway and shake in the distance. “We have been here for a while, haven’t we? I think this is the longest we’ve ever spent in an Anomaly.”

“Hey, not all dives are created equal.” River chuckles as she turns to face me in her blanket armor. “Sometimes you’ll get through a dungeon really fast, other times you spend what feels like forever on one floor trying to find the exit. I don’t mind, though. It makes it feel even more like an adventure.”

Another sip, followed by a contented sigh. “Especially now that we’re Junior members. I feel so official, you know? Out here with our badges, all our gear, helping the Expedition Society one step at a time. It feels great!” She turns to look out the window with me. “I’ll admit, though, of all the Anomalies we’ve been to so far, this one feels the most… I dunno, lonely? What’s the word I’m looking for?”

“Isolated?”

“Yeah, that! We’ve been to some weird places. That underground subway, that flooded house in the middle of the ocean, that big empty mall, they were scary, but this place just feels sad.” River’s expression falls a bit. “It’s not weird or creepy like everywhere else we’ve been, it just feels lonely. There’s all these empty, abandoned houses all over the place, this resort is way out in the middle of nowhere and we’re the only ones left.”

She looks down into her cup, the pins on her head drooping downwards. “I’ve, uh… Had nightmares where I wake up in the morning only to find that everyone in Serene Village is gone. My Pops, the teachers and everyone else at school, even Kecleon and the rest of the shopkeepers. Like everyone just got up and decided to leave me behind. I guess this place is giving me that same feeling of being completely alone.”

I wince a little and my ears droop. I can’t say it doesn’t make sense, though. Given everything I’ve come to learn about River over the last week, yeah, I guess she would have nightmares like that, huh? I scoot myself over closer to her and try to give her a reassuring smile. “I wouldn’t leave you behind.”

She laughs softly in response. “Yeah, I know that, silly.” She takes another sip, then sets her cup down. “When I was little, I used to think that if I had more friends than I could count, I’d never be lonely.” She pauses for a moment, then quietly laughs. “It’s really funny, looking back. If I really had that many friends, there’s no way I’d be able to spend time with everyone. I think I’d feel even more lonely if that were the case.”

Then she turns to face me, smiling softly. “And then I met you. Now, I don’t feel lonely anymore.”
