what’s fairy light? It sounds cool!
I just made a long ass post about one of the characters, if you wanna check that out, and I talk about a few of the concepts in Fairy Light there.
Fairy Light is an OLD oc story of mine, in fact the oldest surviving one right now lol. Came about late 2017/early 2018 if I recall, though I started revamping it about 2 years ago.
It initially came from my love of 'heroes and villains have to band together to defeat an even bigger bad and maybe they become buddies along the way.' Which I still love btw lmao.
Magic and supernatural abilities is a staple of this whole world, but the story is basically about Fairy Light, a city known for being full of superhumans and magic. This city is in the desert, and well known for being a little weird and wrong. It follows several superheroes and villains and other vigilantes (where superpowers are defined by magic), specifically my silly little crew of 6 (2 19 year olds and the adult ass weirdo men they've somehow acquired). Strange shady happenings are going on in the city, not the typical sort of strange, and when things start to very rapidly turn bad its up to them (and a few sideshow ass characters like Ansaldo) to figure out what the fuck is going on and save the city
I don't really have like. A specific linear story, just characters and a lot of concepts and ideas of what goes down. But the main thing is to follow Janna, a new young hero, while she realizes that her city is in danger, and the people she looked up to turn out to not be so great after all. She acquires many goofy companions along the way and also goes through The Agonies <3
There's a Lot of little side stories and details I have on a bunch of different characters, bc i love focusing on side things rather than the main plot lmao, so feel free to ask about them, I can throw in a quick list.
Janna Kumar, Mason Mac Murchada, Darcy Warren, Eva Sawyer, Duke Warren, Howard Hoskins, Dr. Jacob Eloise, Ansaldo Seidel, The Cat God, The Dream Guardian, Monty (big snake), The Viewer, Timewinder.

Melodic Gothic Metal at it´s Best! Kaleidoscope by Ember Sea (Official Music Video)
A powerful and emotional melodic gothic metal anthem that captures the chaos and whispers of a restless mind. With its vivid lyrics, the song takes the listener on an intense emotional journey, painting a picture of colliding voices, fear in shadows, and dancing on the edge of time. The track is both energetic and haunting, making it a must-listen for fans of melodic metal seeking raw emotion. The accompanying sexy video adds to the intense experience of the song.

LYRICS
A chaos inside me
A mess, voices collide
Just listen, this soulstorm
An exit hard to find
I'm fearing the shadows
Silence of sleepless nights
Adrifting, no anchor
Dancing on the edge of time
Me to find
All colours blinding bright
Kaleidoscope is turning 'round
Day and night
A captive of my restless mind
The moments of silence
Stillness of an empty room
Then haunted by whispers
Lost at the edge of time
Me to find
All colours blinding bright
Kaleidoscope is turning 'round
Day and night
A captive of my restless mind

Life History of the 4 Men
The Chinese character books provide timelines of everyone's lives, so I decided to translate them all (as part of my epic procrastination ritual).
There are spoilers in these up to Chapter 24. Okay, I'm afraid tables look hideous in Tumblr, so you're all going to have to deal with my terrible text version.
LI ZEYAN
Regarding the Evol he was born with || Li Zeyan was born with a time manipulation Evol but he never told anyone around him.
10 years old || Park meeting || He met a 4 years old you at the park. He made a pudding as an apology to make up for wrecking your sand castle, but he never thought that he'd get a tag along from that moment.
11 years old || Suspending time during a car accident || He used his Evol in public for the first time in order to save you when you disregarded danger to grab a small cat in the middle of the road.
Orphanage kidnapping incident || He was kidnapped with you to an orphanage. He used his Evol to bring the other kids out but wasn't careful enough and was discovered. He was saved by you at a critical moment but, in the end, was unable to bring you out with him.
Start of the endless search || Unwilling to believe that you were no longer in this world, he started his 17 year long search.
14 years old || Mother's death by illness || His mother died to an illness and the details of the cause are unknown.
18 years old || Starts university || He was accepted into the country's famous university with his outstanding grades.
20 years old || Creates Huarui || He created Huarui when he was finishing his third year and, in the second year of its creation, Wei Qian came around to interview.

28 years old || Huarui becomes a business empire || Huarui gradually developed and became a business empire.
Meeting again || Using his Evol, he saved you when you were about to meet with a car accident.
HBS' plot || He was locked in one of HBS' secret rooms with you. That one scene from his childhood happened again and he realized that it turned out the person he strenuously searched for was at his side. His Evol fluctuated and he could use it to twist space and time.
Deep space travel || Obtained a pocket watch from Grandpa Chen and went to the future Lianyu City. He was in contact with you through the pocket watch and, in order to change the ending of fate, he continuously crossed through space and time.
Black Cabin reunion || He reunited with you at the Black Cabin and obtained memories of several worlds— no matter the world, you two would end up meeting and he would end up being attracted to you.
XU MO
Known to all as a little genius || Being a little genius in the eyes of others, he obtained the love of adults but was alienated by those of the same age and his only friend was the neighboring older brother, Fan Zihang.
7 years old || Car accident || Encountering a car accident on his birthday, both his parents died, and he survived with great difficulty only to be taken by a member of the Black Swan organization.
Acquired Evol || Underwent Black Swan's reformation experiment and obtained Evol.
8 years old || First meeting || He met with the very first color in his life underneath a camphor tree and even obtained a single colorful origami crane.

24 years old || Became a professor || Returning to the country, he founded the Xu Mo Life Laboratory and also held the post of being a guest professor at Lianyu University.
26 years old || Meeting again || He met with you again through the introduction of Professor Zhang Chengxi. He became your neighbor after moving in and also helped with the last episode of Miracle Finder.
The dream's passing || He brought you into a dream but, because he received the influence of your Evol, saw both of your pasts together and the car accident in his childhood. Afterward, he obtained a peace knot from your hands.
Breaking it off || His identity as Ares was revealed and he broke off relations with you. At a press conference about the development of an influenza vaccine, he had a debate about "evolution" with you.
Danger in the dream || In order to save you when you were being chased by radicals of the Black Swan organization, the two of you entered a dream. He used his Copy Evol to get out of danger and your memory of this time was also erased.
Black Cabin reunion || He reunited with you in the Black Cabin and, obtaining the memories of several worlds, he takes you by the hand and hurries towards the next spring day.
BAI QI
Childhood || Although his father was always cold, under the care of his mother's warmth, Bai Qi had a relatively carefree childhood.

Obtained Evol || He heard your piano when he fought a gang of people and was kicked off the rooftop. At the same time as he obtained his Evol he vowed to protect you forever.
18 years old || Goodbye || His Evol awakening was discovered by his father and he was threatened until he had no choice but to leave Lianyu High School. Before he left, he wrote a letter to give to you but, because of Han Ye's slip up, you thought it was a threatening letter.
19 years old || Hellish mission || His teammate Li Ye died during the "Hell Mission" and only Bai Qi and Gu Zheng survived. After this mission concluded, Bai Qi was made into the team captain.

18 years old || Admitted into a famous music school || He signed with a famous international music company and, after being successful, was admitted into a famous music school.
Set up a band || Created a band, had the position of lead singer, and started touring around the world, setting the groundwork of being an international star.

21 years old || Entered the hacker world || He returned to the hacking world with KEY's identity and persistently searched for any clues connected to his master.

Interrobang Planning
Skills/processes I have developed so far:
Photography
Painting
Printmaking
Film
Stitch work
Poetry / creative writing
Sculpture
Installation
Mixed media
Skills/processes I would like to develop further:
Sculpture – experimenting with materials to reflect context and concept;
Mixed media – combining sculpture, painting, photography within one form;
Performance – realising emotive contexts through physical performance – presence and absence: the body and what is cast off from the body
These four questions are designed to focus on three distinct areas and creative aspiration:
Question 1 relates specifically to medium; you should consider this as process-based research:
Materials: wax, latex, cloth / clothing, photographs, paintings, embedding objects (e.g. mirror fragments, clay imprints) within materials. Painting onto wax forms, stitching into materials, creating complex sculptural forms comprising of many different elements and materials.
Clay and magnets: experiment with incorporating iron filings and graphite filings into the clay and sculpting forms from them. Hang them alongside each other and strong magnets to create a push/pull effect between the sculptures. Could also try embedding the magnets in clay sculptural forms.
Materials and magnets – experiment with the filings in drying latex and use magnets to manipulate the shape?
Question 2 relates specifically to concept; this should question what your ideas are about.
My ideas for this project stemmed from thoughts surrounding the functions of sculptural practices with material outcomes as an extension of the self. This initially became apparent to me from spending time critically considering Eva Hesse’s practice and the hidden meanings embedded within it.
The process for the work I plan to create will involve capturing the ephemeral in real time through sculptural practices. It will also involve using materials to physically conceal and build up a complex narrative through mixed media. I will also explore the kinetic in order to produce a material depiction of the immaterial experience of connection, separation and longing.
Question 3 relates specifically to context; this should be read broadly and consider what context means to you. This could include place, time period (historical), space, artists, etc.
I will explore and consider the following contextual topics: Longing, remembering, forgetting, presence, absence, connection, separation, the act of shying away and burying emotions/feelings.

Question 4 relates specifically to creative aspirations, what you intend to do next with the rest of the module.
I plan to use this initial period of intense experimentation to explore various avenues of thought and material delivery. This will then lead me to consider how these ideas can be refined and interwoven with my existing practice output. It will become more apparent as my experiments unfold. I am hopeful that the material experiments that I complete throughout this short project will provide me with a solid idea about how I can refine and focus on for the remainder of the module.

Round 2 Results
I don’t have time to draw (though I will likely do so later) but I DO have time to at least say the results sooo
MATCH 1 and 2: CURIOSITY and INQUIRY are eliminated
The two weirdly-named goat-adjacent guys with horns. I promise I didn’t think about this when making them. Ink is my DnD tiefling warlock and Curiosity is my weird demon-person from Dream Aflame! They’re both weird and a little fucked up.
MATCH 3 and 4: BRYANT HOSKINS and FLORENCE are eliminated
Bryant, from IHS, the computer guy who hacks the government for fun and makes video game mods in his spare time, and Florence, from Fairy Light, local silent type plant spirit.
MATCH 5 and 6: ADONIS ARNONE and SKEIN are eliminated
Hate to see a horse girl winning :(. Adonis from IHS is a major sweetheart who’s fatal flaw is enjoying country music I guess. And Skein, silly yarn cat from Sam’s paint city world.
MATCH 7 and 8: ANSALDO SEIDEL and EVA SAWYER are eliminated
Honestly shocked Ansaldo lost this one when he was in the lead for so long. Both from Fairy Light, Ansaldo is a modern superhero and major nature lover, and also is probably a squirrel most the time, and Eva, who’s probably a ghost haunting Boston right now after tragically burning to death a hundred years ago.

Ecovention Europe: Art to Transform Ecologies, 1957-2017 (part 2)
As promised, here’s a follow-up of Monday’s first foray into Ecovention Europe: Art to Transform Ecologies, 1957-2017 which you can currently visit at De Domijnen in Sittard (NL). The exhibition gathers the work of over 40 artists who, through small scale interventions, attempt to bring a creative answer to the numerous environmental crises European ecosystems are going through.
Today’s short selection will focus on artistic attempts (many of them successful) to restore environmental damage:

Nils Norman, The Gerrard Winstanley Radical Gardening Space Reclamation Mobile Field Center and Weather Station (European Chapter), 2000
Nils Norman designed a bike trailer to travel between parks, playgrounds, schools and public squares. Once parked, the trailer opens to reveal a small photocopier, a library, a small weather station as well as a solar panel. The library consists of books on DIY culture, permaculture, urban gardening, energy systems, utopias and issues of gentrification.
The mobile library encourages people to photocopy the chapters in the books that interest them and implement the ideas found in the publications.
The bike is named after Gerrard Winstanley, the leader of “the Diggers”, a group of Protestant radicals in 17th Century England who tried to defy the enclosure of common land by private interests: occupying it en masse, pulling down hedges, digging it up and cultivating it for food.

Tree Mountain is a monumental reclamation project located in Ylöjärvi, Finland. The project was officially announced by the Finnish government at the Earth Summit in Rio de Janeiro in l992 as Finland’s contribution to help alleviate the world’s ecological stress. The huge mountain was planted with eleven thousand trees by eleven thousand people from all over the world, eventually creating the first man-made virgin forest.
People who planted the trees received certificates acknowledging them as custodians of the trees. The certificate is an inheritable document valid for twenty or more generations in the future. Situated on top of an aquifer known as Finland’s purest source, Tree Mountain preserves the precious resources for centuries to come.
Agnes Denes conceived the project in the early 1980s as a mark of humanity’s commitment to the future ecological, social and cultural life on the planet.
Vera Thaens, Roof Runoff Purifying System. Photo: Bert Janssen
Vera Thaens installed a biological water purification station in Sittard. Her Roof Runoff Purifying System uses different types of plants to filter and clean rainwater, making it ideal for drinking. The water plants were selected for their specific ability to remove toxic substances. Some extract nitrates and nitrites from the rainwater. Others can even get rid of hormones from wastewater (something that chemical wastewater treatment plants can’t always achieve.)
The idea of purifying drinking water with plants is nothing new. German scientist Käthe Seidel prototyped the system back in the 1950s. She seems to have been an amazing person. When asked why her ingenious and wastewater purification system never took off, she answered:
“Men always reach for technology, for development. They insist it will bring us to higher levels of progress. They haven’t the patience to work with slow-growing plants, nor do they understand natural cycles as women do. They see my work as farming, not engineering, so they go away and return to their machinery.”
Marjetica Potrc and Ooze (Eva Pfannes & Sylvain Hartenberg, Source de Friche, 2012
The site of Source de Friche in Brussels used to be a Shell Oil industrial site, where rainwater and ground water had accumulated in a large depression. Although the site had been decontaminated, the water remained polluted. The project highlighted and sped up the self-regenerative power of nature by processing the polluted water through a constructed wetland, a system that uses existing and new helophyte plants to filter the water. Although the water was purified, it still did not meet all European regulations for drinking water for humans, so the artists labelled it as water “of drinkable quality exclusively for non-humans”.
Rebecca Chesney, I’m blue, you’re yellow, Everton park, Liverpool, 2012
As a result of her research into habitats that help support local populations of bees and other insects, Rebecca Chesney was commissioned to realise the planting of two acres of meadow on Everton Park in Liverpool. One acre was made entirely of blue flowering species, the other acre of yellow ones. Each acre was one solid block of colour.

The artist recently went to see the meadows. They were in their 6th summer and quite different from when they were first planted. They have changed gradually over the years and are now mixed with loads of other species coming in.
Lois Weinberger, Das über die Planzen/ist eins mit Ihnen (What is Beyond Plants is at One with Them), documenta 10, 1997. Photo: 34 magazin
For the 1997 edition of documenta, Lois Weinberger planted a garden amongst the railway tracks of Kassel’s central station. The plants mixed native vegetation with ruderal plants the artist had collected in Central and Eastern Europe, during and after the collapse of communism. These nomadic survivors, ‘foreign immigrants’ to German soil, flourished amongst the transit lines of ‘Old Europe’, subverting any human projection of territorial sovereignty, or fixed borders, and still do so today.
Weinberger views this continuous botanical blending as a metaphor for social processes such as global migration. “The way a society deals with its plants tells us a lot about itself”, he once said.
Lois Weinberger, Brandenburger Tor, Berlin 1994
Lois Weinberger, Gebiet Wien (Area Vienna), 1988
Much of Weinberger’s work investigates Gilles Clément’s idea of the Third Landscape (the space left over by man to nature alone.) Weinberger’s gardens are not looked after. They are left to evolve, expand, be taken over by weeds and grow into unruly little landscapes.
Moirika Reker, Fruta a Mão (Urban Orchards – Pick Your (City) Fruit), 2014-ongoing. Photo via interact
When learning that most of the fruit trees adorning Portugal’s city streets were ornamental and too bitter to eat, Moirika Reker decided that these spaces could grow edible fruits instead. She sought a European Culture Foundation grant to develop “Fruta à mão” (Urban Orchards – Pick Your (City) Fruit). She focused her efforts on transforming part of the park Quinta dos Lilases in Lisbon into a public orchard. The urban orchard would be cared for, maintained and harvested by the community. The idea is to bring attention to the possibility of participation in one’s own nourishment, addressing issues related to food security, urban sustainability and aesthetic fruition of the city.
Despite pretending to be working on implementing Reker’s proposal, the city had its landscape architect design a 3000m2 orchard instead.
Hop! Couple more images from the exhibition:
