Hajun finds himself struggling with words often, so he tries to make it up with his actions. And honestly, he's so used to taking care of his brothers that taking care of you even becomes very enjoyable for him to do so.

He often cooks food for you, especially when you had long day. You'd come from university or your job and you'd see your favorite meal on the table, made just for you.

He carries your stuff without asking. Like he'll hold your purse or shopping bags and etc.

If you're done with ur workout or had exhausting day, he will give you massage to help you relax.

Whenever he's working out, he likes it when you're nearby. It's comforting. Even better if you decide to train with him.

He likes it spending time with you in comfortable silence. Like maybe you two are on rooftop, watching the stars and he's so comfortable during times like this.

Movie nights are sacred, and he gets surprisingly soft during them — he’ll let you pick whatever you want, even if it’s cheesy romance.

Oh you want to go shopping? He's tagging along. You want to walk aimlessly around the city? He's doing that with you. Seriously, he'll show up at ur house if you're just feeling lonely.

If you're curious and just want to learn it, he'll teach you basics of boxing. If you mess up, he won't laugh, just fix your posture and help you out. He'll be so proud when you do it right though.

Sometimes, he’ll ask you to come over for no reason. He won’t have anything planned — he just wants you there.

He loves spending time with you, really. It's never waste of time for him.

It's not that easy to get Joker to say romantic things, he might think most of the lines are cheesy af. And yet, though sometimes, he might bluntly say even cheesier things when the time's right.

He's just not a sweet-talker, Hajun is more blunt and straightforward so I can see him struggling giving words of affirmation and possibly even receiving it.

Don't get it wrong, it's not like he doesn't compliment you. He does and often too, though compliments are short. Like "you look pretty", "It suits you", "Well done" and etc.

In vulnerable moments though, he's using much more words of affirmation.

In any case, he's more action oriented guy than words^^

Thought some people might be interested! Here's a quick reference sheet I made for the drill Gossan uses in my fic.

I designed an early drill rig for the Zero-G Cave based on the piece of mining equipment/"satellite" that's there in the game, with the idea that the Hearthians had built onto the old drill to create the new one (shown in the concept art in the corner). This drill was in use before/during the conception of Outer Wilds Ventures, designed to be operated manually by a single miner. The new rig (the one we see in-game) appears to be operated either remotely or automatically, and has three bits attached to three legs that presumably scrape against the walls of the cavern as the drill rotates. The old rig has a single, extendable bit that bores into the side of the cavern.

The old rig (in my fic) serves as the inspiration for the ships in Outer Wilds Ventures. The drill is piloted with a side stick that controls two thruster banks positioned on either side of the rig, with pitch and yaw controlled by a separate side stick that releases short pulses of air from a configuration of openings angled along the edges. This high degree of maneuverability allows the drill to be precisely oriented into place before extending three hydraulic legs to brace the sides of the cavern. The bit can then be activated, extended from beneath the cabin floors to drill into a borehole.

The drill is designed to be operated wholly in zero-G. A series of handholds along the interior and exterior allow the operator to navigate around the rig, and the operator can tether themself to the pilot seat with a harness when activating controls. The drill contains a radio, a medical kit, an emergency repair kit, emergency oxygen, and, eventually, a jetpack that allows for more precise navigation around the cave.

The old rig undergoes quite a few changes when it gets converted to the modern rig. The legs are repurposed for the three drill bits, two being relocated to the side of the rig. The forward-facing bit is removed, as well as the floor in the cabin that previously housed it. The cockpit and thrusters are removed and repurposed for ships, the cockpit being replaced with another module on the modern drill. Controls are moved to the side, and a panel is added to the exterior. Support struts are added (previously, an operator ensured the drill would not be damaged and would make repairs when damage did occur. Now that the drill is remotely/automatically operated, supports have been added to bolster its strength so it does not need constant supervision). The side entrance is blocked by supports and the back panel opened up into a new entrance.

Anyway, I tried to combine the in-game rig design with the interior of the ship to come up with something that's not identical, but quite similar. The ship controls borrow directly from the old rig, which is what allows Gossan to serve as flight coach to the Ventures, as they have experience piloting in zero-G.

So I just reviewed the email of all the things that are wrong with the property in New Orleans:

AHU / RTU Replacement

Temp Air required

Chiller Replacement

AHU #2 caught fire

Forward Lift station controls

Mid ship lift station is missing 1 pump entirely

Main tank pumps are located in a confined space area. Property can’t even inspect this without 3rd party confined space supervision (hole watch, air quality, rescue systems, etc.)

AVS wrote them up on a water heater; property is in the process of replacing this unit located down in the hold.

They’re over plating some areas of bad corrosion per the AVS report.

The potable water system is in need of some repairs.

Siding is deteriorated off of the 2nd floor exterior wall leading to water intrusion and wasp infestations…

So imagine a stationary barge, with poor (if any) air conditioning, makeshift/ modifications/ repairs done over the years, lift stations pump shit/ sewage uphill, if those fail you have bilge alarms going off, you can’t even access the pumps and tanks without supervision (meaning the space is bad), steel plates are being added to cover corrosion, siding is bad/ falling apart, and how could I forget…the potable water system is bad.

Fuck me sideways.

I think I’m about to raise my hourly rates for this project.

Heavy machinery cranks and grinding stones reverberate in the still air as the wall slides back into place, the demon’s silhouette vanishing as the worker hugs the cold stone of its cell. The skeletal vulture sits on the cell’s small window watching as its master disappears. Its claws clink on the metal as it shifts and the worker holds its breath.

Sniff

Sniff

The bird almost purrs as its snake-like neck shifts so its glowing eyes lock onto the worker. Its knees give and the worker slides to the ground, body wracked with tremors as its muscles lock. All it can think is to run, to fight, to scream, but it can only sit helplessly as the demon’s pet hops from the cell bars to the stone floor.

It tilts its skeletal head to the side as its wings puff out the sides, revealing the souls trapped in its rib cage. Another purr rumbles through the bird's body and the worker barely raises its arms in front of its face before the monster shrieks and lunges.

Its claws screech on the worker’s metallic exterior and if it could scream it would as the vulture’s beak tears wiring from its shoulder and its talons throw its arm across the cell.

Sparks dance with the embers of trapped souls as the sound of shredding metal and avian screams echoes on the stone.

Silence eventually falls within the dungeon as the bird realizes its prey has no soul to steal and becomes disinterested. The vulture sits on the small window and starts cleaning its feathers, picking bits of metal and wire from its plumage.

The occasional spark causes disjointed limbs to twitch. The worker’s remaining vision wavers as its thoughts pulse in and out of focus through electrical surges and it tries to remember. Its vision darkens as the ground shifts and the wall starts to raise. All it sees before the merciful void takes it is the silhouette of the demon’s shoes and the scythe dragging on the ground behind him.

There is a tingling in its shoulder. It can feel wires being welded and bolts being fastened. The worker internally sighs. It must be back in the federation’s facilities for repairs. Cucurucho must have found it. Finally. It doesn’t even know how long it’s been trapped without sunlight.

But… wait. Federation facilities are warm. It could always hear the hum of electricity surging through the walls but now… nothing. Just the clinking of metal tools and the faint chill of stone.

Someone is humming. It doesn’t recognize the melody but it recognizes the voice and nearly short circuits from the jolt of fear.

“I know you are awake.” That voice. It sends terror through the worker but the tone is wrong. Softer. The venom from before replaced with… exhaustion. “I hope you didn’t think I would let you die. That would be silly.”

The worker looks at the demon with baited breath, still too terrified to even attempt moving. The demon sits in the cage with it, beside it, tinkering with the worker’s mangled arm. He leans against the bars slouched almost… it could laugh at the absurdity… almost childlike. But there is no wonder or childlike naïveté in the pupiless white eyes and void of a face. There is… nothing. No malice. No sick joy. He looks at the machinery in his hands with a blank if focused expression. The two sit in silence for a long moment, the worker watching its capture repair its limb in fearful paralysis, before the demon tilts his head and observes his handiwork.

“That should work.” He shifts and lines the arm up with the worker’s shoulder. It looks away and braces for more pain, sure that the demon would take pleasure in attaching the arm in the most painful manner possible… but the pain never comes. The demon connects wires and welds carefully, intently. He takes his time and doesn’t say a word as hands that had only been cruel handle the worker’s delicate insides with the utmost care. There is a surge of electrical tingling as the limb reattaches… and the worker wiggles its fingers.

The demon watches his handiwork and a small smile crosses his face. “My son would be proud.” The smile fades and the demon leans back, closes his eyes.

The worker looks between its captor and one of the tools just within reach of its newly repaired hand. Both its legs and other arm are out of commission but it doesn’t care. This might be its only chance. Its fingertips brush the smooth metal as the demon starts humming again, the same melody. It freezes as the demon starts singing.

“You are my sunshine

My only sunshine

You make me happy

When skies are gray

You'll never know, dear

How much I love you

Please don't take

My sunshine away “

The worker stares at the demon barely able to breathe, hand shaking at the force it holds the wrench but… it simply looks on entranced.

“The other night, dear

As I lay sleeping

I dreamed I held you

In my arms

When I awoke, dear

I was mistaken

So I hung my head and I cried-”

His voice breaks as a bead of white escapes the demon’s eye and leaves a glowing trail across the void of his skin like a comet passing through the atmosphere.

“Where did you go, my little sunshines?”

The worker’s grip on the wrench loosens. Is this pity? It grips the wrench with renewed strength. He let that monster tear my appart, I will not pity him! It lurches forwards and swings the wrench towards the demon’s head but he easily grabs the worker’s wrist mid air and eyes still closed. The worker tries to pull its arm back but it is caught in the devil’s grip.

White soulless eyes open and the worker would scream if it could as it tries in vain to tear free its one remaining limb. The demon’s nails pierce steel and the worker feels the panic of a prey animal caught in a wolf’s den surging through it. No no no no I’m sorry I’m sorry I didn’t mean it I didn’t mean it please please please-

The demon prys the wrench from the worker’s hand and releases its arm, which the worker yanks back to its chest. It doesn’t take its vision off the demon as he sits forward and brings a knee to his chest, taps the wrench in his opposite palm.

“My son taught me everything I know about machines.” Those white eyes lift and lock on the worker’s featureless face.

He stands suddenly and the worker flinches. The demon stands back to it for a moment before he tosses a pearl with a flick of the wrist and teleports through the bars in a burst of purple particles. The worker crawls with one arm to the bars and reaches for him, silently shouting wait!

The demon glances to the side back at the worker and for a moment it recognizes the sick grin that is quickly coached into careful despair.

“My friends need me but I’ll finish repairing you when I come back.”

Gears shift loudly as the wall starts lowering between them.

“Maybe I’ll make brownies we can share while I work…” his words are nearly drowned in the grinding of stone and gears and all too soon the worker is once again alone in the dark.

It brings its arm to its chest and holds itself as best it can in its state.

It’s never had brownies but… they sound nice.

Theo entered the garage, following Jenna in as she turns the lights on.

The women immediately went ahead to start routing through the boxes that surrounded the room to begin looking for the photo albums, but Theo's attention was pulled towards something else, in the centre of the garage sat a large sheet covering something- specifically a car if the outline was anything to go by.

"Whats that?" He asks Jenna, pointing at the covered vehicle when she turns to face him. The women instantly looks at the car fondly. "That was my father's car before he passed it on to me." Jenna stands to her feet moving towards the vehicle motioning for Theo to help her.

Together they pull the sheet off the vehicle. Theo's eyes widen as the car is revealed.

A 1970s Ford Mustang.

The vehicle is in definite need of repair and restoration. His eyes skimming over the cars black exterior.

Jenna has moved. Walking along the car stroking her hand over the hood. "I used to drive this car everywhere, even Liam grew up with me driving it." Theo moves along the car looking through the drivers door window.

As expected the interior was in need of help. New seats needed and potentially a new steering wheel not even counting if the car would even start up.

"I wanted to pass it on to Liam one day, but the old girl was damaged and her parts are hard to come by, if not impossible. " Jenna is motioning towards the front of the car now where the front bumper and hood were damaged leading up to the passenger side.

"I couldn't bare the thought of being rid of her though. She was my own father's and is one of the last things I have of him." Jenna’s voice cracks a little as she speaks. Theo turns back to face Jenna seeing the slight wetness in her eyes as she reminisces over the vehicle.

"Does it start?" He asks her. Eyeing the car with interest. A small idea forming in his head.

Jenna turns towards the wall where a rack of keys hangs off it. Pulling out a set and motioning towards the vehicle. She opens the drivers door- ignoring the dust that comes away.

She puts the key in the ignition turning it to try and start the vehicle.

Nothing happens

She tries again- and again.

The engine roars a little before dieing, immediately shutting off.

The women sighs climbing out. Eyeing the vehicle with sadness. "She has been sat here for years now." She sighs sounding a little dejected turning put the key back on the rack.

Theo reachs out, taking the key slowly out her hands. Walking around the car.

Theo stays silent as his gaze returns solely back to the car.

He imagines a younger Jenna driving the car for the first time, to a young Liam sat on her knee holding the wheel while he tries to reach the peddles.

He imagines a 19 year old Liam driving this car.

It being parked outside the beach house or Theo's apartment next to Theo's own truck.

A checklist forming in his head over what the car needs.

New bumper and hood, the interior needing to be restored, issue with the engine needing to be fixed, potentially a full replacement of it, and the exterior needing a complete respray to make it look new along with other things.

Jenna was right. Parts like what it would need would be rare to come by.

Luckily Theo knew just the man that had the contacts they would need. Who had restored other older models before. Theo was sure with his dad's helped, they could both get the Mustang running again.

Theo smiles at Jenna, tapping his hand along the top of the car. "I'm gonna need to borrow her for awhile." The women eyes her sons boyfriend with confusion while Theo's grin just widens.

Oh, yeah, i get that a lot. But look, im 52, i havent got the energy to flirt with 40 year old tired house moms. Kidnapping sounds like a lot of work.

Bit of a shocker compared to the outside, huh? Yeah, I had the interior and body upgraded a few years ago, added comfort and protection,still kept the rough looking exterior tho, keeps attention down.

Yep. Glass repair, window replacement, skylights. Heh. Youd be surprised to know how many small contractors making a living cleaning up qfter the Bat clan. Lotta companies downtown cant get insurance for windows, doors, ventilation systems. Gives us smaller guys a little more space to play.

The Extent of James' Prosthetics

Obviously some tw for fairly graphic injuries and blood and medical things.

Even before losing his left arm at Beacon, James' body was - technically - more than half made of prosthetics, though much of that extent was not obvious even if one were to see his exterior prosthetics.

The trouble came from the sheer extent of the damage that was done, and how experimental prosthetics like James' were at the time. And nothing to the extent that James required had been done before. He should have died in the snow before he was found and brought home. But even when they started, they ran into a problem.

Much of James' right side was shattered beyond repair, bones broken in so many places from a long fall with no aura and a manticore biting down on his torso. His hip was collapsed, his lung little more than shredded meat. His internals had been exposed to the icy elements for over a day without an aura, and frostbite had settled deep into the tissues, including parts of his intestines and his liver. His spine had broken in the fall and left him paralyzed on the right side and mostly below the waist.

It was...a lot of damage to repair. Had they not replaced much of it, he would have had serious quality of life problems, including strict diets that would have left him quite unable to maintain the muscle needed to be a huntsman or soldier.

So, Goodkind authorized the use of experimental prosthetics. If James might die anyway, or have such a hard life after, he wanted to have tried everything he could. Part of this agreement means that James' prosthetics are also case studies, and while his name isn't on those studies, most doctors who work on him and see the prosthetics tend to know who he is.

As a result, James has some very visible prosthetics...and some some very hidden. His entire digestive tract is mechanical, as is his liver and one kidney. It means he can eat almost anything and extract what he needs, he actually has a more efficient digestive system than most humans or fauni, but his poison filtration is also far better...which functionally means alcohol and most oral medication don't work on him. It makes him almost impossible to drug through normal means.

His right lung is also a machine, and when the panels of his chest are opened it can be hooked up to external machines to either keep him 'breathing' even while paralyzed, or can be removed to allow replacement should it take damage. Because of this, if he takes a serious blow to the chest without his aura, he can actually cough up various fluids like lubricant and oil.

While it's crude, and James never speaks of it, he also does not have a penis anymore. He could if he wanted to, and these days Atlas tech would make it pretty cool, but he's never felt any need for it. He just doesn't. One of his prosthetics supplies the hormones that he would otherwise have produced down there, though he does require regular visits to the doctor to ensure such production is adequate as he ages.

Because of this, James' right side also doesn't have any blood or biological fluid in it, and is functionally less a prosthetic than a full cybernetic/mechanical replacement. While he has some ability to sense pressure along his fairly crude synthetic nerves, it's nowhere near the level that a more modern replacement like Yang's would provide, and he can only feel vague pressure. He also cannot feel temperature along that side, meaning he has more than once miscalculated what a normal person would be able to touch.

As a result of the synthetic nerve load and the connections they required, his spine also required full replacement. There are connectors and the full thing can be removed for maintenance, leaving James fully paralyzed aside from his head. His neurotransmitter primarily communicates with his spine to control his limbs, mimicking a normal brain-spinal column relationship rather than directly communicating to his limbs. This is mostly a limitation of the time as well, as the neurotransmitter was the most experimental of what was put into James' body during that initial period. Because of that experimental nature, he suffers chronic migraines as a result of the neurotransmitter's connection to his brain and spine.

Separate from the initial wave of prosthetics, James survived an assassination attempt early in his tenure as Headmaster (and General) that resulted in his heart requiring replacement. This was comparatively simple, and while there is a scar across his chest from the initial stabbing that caused the replacement, this prosthetic is more modern and easier to handle. His heart ticks rather than 'beats' but otherwise this prosthetic is easily missed.

All of this has resulted in a few other chronic physical issues and side effects, some of which are obvious and some are subtle.

Negatively, James has significantly less of his body powered by organic fluids, and he has much, much less blood than a man his size should. When his aura breaks, he has to be very mindful of any bleeding, because he can very quickly go into shock as a result of comparatively little damage. He suffers chronic migraines, as mentioned, and headaches are so normal he barely remembers being fully clear-headed. Chronic fatigue and insomnia make a potent cocktail, and as half his body doesn't fatigue the same way as normal man's might, he can struggle to get to sleep. He also - despite being very warm to the touch - very rarely feels warm, as a result of the amount of metal fused to his body. He suffers near-constant phantom pain that flares regularly, and because he cannot take most oral medication, most medications that might help with it don't work on him.

On the flip-side, his already extreme strength is now inhuman, letting him accomplish feats most people can only imagine. His blood-pressure only raises with physical exertion or emotion, preventing him from suffering most heart-related complications, and his blood filters very well keeping him pretty healthy. His mechanical lung means he can almost always breathe pretty steadily and get good oxygen, barring contaminants in the air. He can eat basically whatever he wants within some reason, so long as it isn't totally unhealthy, as his digestive system can handle anything humanly edible with ease, and even some not-humanly edible things. He also suffers significantly less from the ills of age as he gets older, as half of his body is somewhat unfailing: his right hand will never become arthritic, he'll never struggle to get on his feet, he'll never throw out his back, his posture will never screw up his spine, and his heart will never give him trouble. Hells, half of him will never even go numb/"fall asleep" like most folks might in certain bad positions.

All of this results in James feeling very disconnected from his humanity in a lot of ways, despite his personality being that of a protector and defender. Advice he gives to students, soldiers, and friends to rest and eat rarely seem to apply to himself, as his body will handle almost any abuse he puts it through. And, if he survives any particularly terrible thing...he knows he'll likely just. Add more metal to his body.

On a good day, he might even crack a joke about being a living Ship of Theseus, to a close friend. On a bad one, he thinks his worst nightmare is what might happen when he eventually takes so much damage that they might replace the rest of him, rather than letting him just die.
