I saw that anon ask about FK's chemistry and wanted to add my two cents.

My take on it is somewhat similar to yours, Doreen, but slightly different. Basically, I believe that (like any actor pair in the BL industry) they do amp things up for the fans to an extent because that's (unfortunately) a part of the job. However, I don’t think the emotional stuff (like the crying) is a performance. Do I think them answering a suggestive question in a slightly flirty manner at a fan meeting is fanservice? Yes. Do I think them posting pics together on social media almost every day is done for the fans? Yes. (Btw, this doesn't mean they wouldn't hang out if they weren't in a BL couple, but they certainly wouldn't have done it as often or post pics of it all the time.)

But I think whenever they actually talk about the deeper stuff, it's genuine and not just fanservice and I especially think so when it comes to the crying. Well, tbh, idk about Khao because he's harder for me to read (I think it's because he gives off chill/nonchalant vibes and people like that have always been hard for me to read whether they're genuine or not) but First just reads very authentic to me. Of course he's still going to keep certain things private (as he should) but the things that he does share about himself are genuine imo. The thing about getting emotional/crying about his bestie is: Would he have done it if the two of them weren't an established BL pair? No, of course not. Not because he doesn’t genuinely care, but because why would he ever give his friendships a deeper thought? Because why would any of us? I certainly don't go around evaluating what my best friends really mean to me unprompted. But if suddenly I had people (interviewers, fans, possibly management/other gmmtv staff too) barraging me with questions and prompts about what my bestie means to me or how I'd feel if they were gone from my life, it sure as hell would make me think about that stuff and probably get emotional. And that's without the added circumstance of me suddenly spending most of my time with that person now for work (work that sometimes involves kissing them on top of that). To me it seems incredibly plausible that all of that shared experience and time spent together makes you closer and your friendship stronger. And while, yes, those emotional moments are definitely goaded out of them by staff/interviewers/etc. it doesn’t mean that makes them an act. Sure, they wouldn't start bawling unprompted but the feelings are still there, you know? Just becaise they needed a push, it doesn't mean they're fake.

And yeah, I agree they were definitely more awkward at the start of their journey together as a BL pair because who wouldn't feel and act awkward if they had to act out being in love with their friend and having to kiss them? But do I think the fact that they're not as awkward with it anymore and are more playful about it means they're faking it for the fans? No, I just think with time they got used to it and that's why it doesn't feel as awkward anymore. After you do something for a while, it becomes less weird to you even if it was very weird in the beginning.

I also want to say I actually don't think they're acting all that different now than they did a few years ago. I've seen content of them together back from like 2020 and even earlier (aka before they ever knew they'd be paired up for a series one day) and they were pretty much the same as they are now - bantering all in good fun while also getting sappy at each other and even a little flirty (joking around). They had no reason to do fanservice back then or amp anything up. Which is part of the reason why I believe so strongly that they're not just acting. There's a higher volume of content from them now (for obvious reasons) but the content itself is very similar.

Just for comparison: I don’t think all acting pairs are like this, btw. For example, as much as I like JoongDunk and believe they're definitely genuine friends, I do think they (especially Dunk) love to play things up for the cameras and do things for fansevice a lot. But honestly, FK (especially First) are two people from gmmtv who just feel the most genuine to me out of everyone. Maybe that's why I'm so drawn to them.

To bring it back to the anon's original question: Do FK have real romantic chemistry outside of their series? I don’t know about "romantic" chemistry but they definitely have chemistry, period (aka a bond, aka they're close friends). I don’t think they're faking anything, I just think different people see it differently. For example, if you think they give off romantic chemistry specifically but in reality their "chemistry" is platonic, it doesn't mean they were faking romantic chemistry, it just means you interpreted the chemistry they do have in a romantic way for whatever reason. At the same time, many people only ever interpreted that same chemistry as purely platonic.

Anyways, hope this is ok. Just wanted to share my opinion, which at the end of the day is just that - an opinion. The truth is none of us will ever know for sure because we only know these people through a screen. Either way it's always best to just enjoy the content you're given without needless speculation about actual romantic attraction/chemistry.

What I meant is that they're taking the natural chemistry they have and play it up, which, again, is a very normal thing to do so I'm fine with that lol. AT THE END OF IT ALL

There was something about coming home. Returning to a safe place that settled over her shoulders with comforting relief. There was no telling what would happen across the country in the days to come but Claire didn’t want to focus on that. Not now that she was home, Owen locking the door behind her like he had lived there all along.

It only seemed to make sense that he came back with her. No use sending him back to the half-built cabin out in the Sierra Nevada. She wanted him with her. Close. Where she could be reassured their lives remained intact once again.

‘You can take the first shower.’ He told her, words ringing in her ears like deja vu. They had been here before. Sweaty, dirt drying on their skin as their clothes begged to be burned to save themselves from ever being worn again. He dropped his weight onto the end of her bed, hands hanging between his knees as Claire leant against the door jamb, fingers tapping out a message to Karen.

She switched her phone off, leaving it on top of the dresser until she was ready to deal with whatever calls were bound to come her way. Owen watched her with tired eyes, hands fidgeting. He didn’t want to move. Didn’t want to touch too many of her things and taint them with his messy hands. The bedsheets she could change.

The shower was calling her but there was something in the centre of her stomach pulling in another direction. They had done this. The aftermath. The survival. The clean-up. She had missed this. His body was warm against hers, hands heavy, touch punishing. If he asked at that moment for Claire to board his trailer and never look back. She would have done so without hesitating.

He pushed Claire’s shirt off her shoulders before his thick fingers rolled her singlet under his hands and tugged it over her head. His lips were rough against her chest, the scratch of his stubble not unfamiliar. She missed that feeling, the course irritation that did nothing but make her skin flare and yet she hardly ever complained. It was Owen. Itchy and irritating, making her skin and making it his own. He pushed a hand through the bottom of her bra, fingers squeezing her breast as her hiss turned into a moan the second he undid the clasp at her back and managed to nudge his nose against the breast he wasn’t already stroking.

Her hands trailed up his sides as he kept his arms wrapped around her back, pulling her skin flush with his as he felt her chest heaving.

She nipped at his chin, his neck, his ear while her hips rolled up into his, trying to find the friction she so desperately needed. He was lost in the feel of her skin, so soft under his hands like he had forgotten what she felt like.

Regardless, Owen wasn’t complaining.

Instead, he let her rock, their bodies becoming one again as her hands cupped his face and her lips met his. He did nothing but love her, chest cracking open while their lips lingered. He wanted to give her everything, succumb to every need. Never was he letting her go again. No matter the consequences he would have to face, Owen was sticking by her side.

The cabin was months off but he could compromise. He could stay with her until it was done. Now more than ever, they needed out of the pandemonium.

He flipped them, Claire beneath his body weight as he pulled his touch away from hers revelling in the whimper she gave him. ‘Owen,’ She whined, trying to reach for him again only to have him pull away.

‘The cabin. Live out there with me.’ He punctuated with a kiss on her cheek, his eyes wide with emotion, unsure if he could handle rejection at that moment. When Claire nodded he felt his chest collapse, the worry holding it together finally breaking away as he slid back into her. His movements were a little too sharp, Claire hissing as her back arched, mouth poised open.

‘I didn’t want to live in it full time.’ She corrected, finger poking him in the chest.

Owen squeezed her. ‘It’s why I started building the cabin.’

‘You started building that three months after I left.’ Gray told her Owen was travelling, had been her eyes and ears on the stray man off in the wilderness leading the life he wanted. It was Gray who told her Owen was buying land in the Sierra Nevada mountains long before Owen worked up the courage to call her. ‘What was the plan. Build Claire home, Claire come back.’ She made her voice deeper to mock the Neanderthals and the thought processes in her brain.

He scrubbed at the back of his head, hand lifting from her hip to do so. ‘I mean, yeah. I thought so.’ It wasn’t like Claire could play entirely innocent in this game. She had been the one to come back to him. More than once. Lonely nights, her voice on the other end of the phone keening his name on small whimpers or showing up suddenly all too happy with the trailer mattress or a blanket under the stars. She never really gave him the opinion that things were completely open. More like an open door for her to come and go as she pleased.

‘It probably would have worked.’ She told him. Owen already knew that. He wouldn’t have started if he thought otherwise. ‘I’m not living out there in your trailer.’ Claire told him and Owen nodded. He didn’t expect that. He stayed still, surrounding himself in the feeling of her finger on his chest, tracing lines across the short hairs there. ‘I’ll come back when it’s finished though. I mean, I’m not going anywhere now. Just not living out there in a trailer. But, when it’s finished. I’ll live with you.’

‘You gotta put some work into it.’ He told her, hand squeezing at her hip with a small laugh.

Claire groaned, face buried against his chest, lungs taking a deep breath in. They still really needed to shower but he smelt like Owen, lazy mornings and hard work regardless of the sweat on his skin and a faint undertone of salt water that was making her chest seize. ‘There’s always a hidden condition with you.’ She laughed.

‘Aye, you gotta earn your keep.’ It was how he was raised. If Claire wanted to call his cabin home if she was willing to accept it now. He would want her help. Not in manual labour but smaller decisions. Flooring. Tiles. What kind of paint, if any, did she want on the walls. He wanted it to be hers perfectly as much as it was his. He didn’t know much about that shit. That was her job. Always making him look better than he was.

‘I think I can accept that.’ She told him, lifting her head to peck his cheeks. He didn’t miss the way she looked completely exhausted. Like the weight of the world was still sitting on her shoulders. She didn’t press that button but Owen could sense the emotional weight above her regardless. ‘Do you think Maisie will be alright?’ She asked him, not able to look him in the eye. The worry was there, chewing at her bottom lip. The girl had nothing left.

Owen shrugged. ‘Time will tell. You gave her your number if she ever needed anything.’

‘We should have done more. Should have brought her home.’ She tried to sit up but Owen only held her down, encouraging her head to his chest again, trying in some small way to soothe her.

‘She’s not that far away.’ But she was. It was a few hours outside of the city. Not something Claire would want to do every day. She mourned for the girl and all her loses, just wished that there was more they could have done for her. Claire had never considered herself maternal but turning away from Maisie and walking out of Lockwood Manor had been one of the hardest things she had ever done.

Claire nodded. ‘She needs help. She holds Lockwood’s name. Scrutiny is going to befall that house because of what happened. She needs more than Iris to guide her. Someone who knows dinosaurs wants the same things she wants. Maybe we can round them up again … get them to the sanctuary?’ Owen could practically see the gears rotating from the top of her head. She was in too many places at once, trying to fix everything, trying to help, change her mistakes before things got worse.

‘She needs you.’ He ended her thoughts. Owen knew it wasn’t right tearing Claire away from that place and away from the girl. He wanted to put as much distance between himself and dinosaurs as he could. He hadn’t stopped to think what Claire wanted away from her exhausted thoughts. He took advantage of her tired state and moved her out of there before thinking twice.

‘We need to shower.’ She told him, hand tapping his chest.

They needed to get cleaned up. They needed to sleep. She needed to think clearly before making any decisions. Needed an idea before she proposed to help Maisie and the Lockwood foundation.

Gwevin headcanons(reboot edition pt 2)

So I have mixed in so far little tidbits that I like to think about along with the bits of content that the show has provided along with unofficial teen & older domestic life drabbles to add here - Gwen had known how precious finding that asmr CD was to Kevin (because of his plaguing troubles in his home life previously and most failed father figures to fill that gap and treat him properly) so she stocked up and bought a bunch of blank discs to burn for that specific one properly while he had temporarily taken refuge while sleeping in the rustbucket (just winging it on this), just in case the main one gets scratches & stopped playing so Kevin can have backups to ensure he gets proper sleep and doesn't end up going almost a week without rest again - He was anxious about the main secret poem that he had made about gwen bringing him some light in the darker moments that he had to grow up with (having a drunkard neglectful father/guardian etc. and a mother that worked long hours to support the family which left him lonesome for a long while) being spoken before he could properly finish it along with the previous poem reflecting that excruciating inner pain he's dealt with so far to that point so he wanted to channel other forms of his poetry until the other is completed, he usually recites mini haiku's and other drabble related things to express himself around her which gives him some stress relief for the most part (but he tries to make sure Ben is distracted with some activity when he's in the mood to pull out his book and have some fun) - Sometimes Ben has joined in to watch some lucky girl with the two but most of the time they caught up watching most of the airing shows with some more privacy and admire what the episodes will entail, Kevin's most favorite parts during the event is the pure joy on Gwen's face and the mini conversations that reflect the subject at hand (in the future they meet the actor herself and he makes sure the complete box sets and merchandise will be well kept in fine condition into their upcoming adulthood and beyond) - When Gwen had shown off her transformation to the lucky girl attire that appeared in "Cyber Slammers" to Kev he was speechless for at least a few minutes in complete awe before saying that it brought out the cuteness in her (despite that she was still adorkably cute to him for a long while), he did try to hide his apparent blush though when she thanked him for his compliment - Although her robo cat suit was short lived and he had been dealing with getting revenge on FK's lies & constant belittlement towards him at the time he did think later on that she looked cute in it, once in their teen years and Phil recreated the suit again to accommodate for her current age & physical build he was stunned & was a blushing mess (he blames his hormones for making him more awkward around her than he already was to begin with) and says she looks beautiful (even if she's beautiful to him with being herself regardless) - A few years later both make sure they have their privacy set for a special moment they've wanted to experience together - Kevin was upset that he was turned into a baby when he was trying to confess his feelings to Gwen (though aside from his antics he enjoyed the brief moments of her holding him despite than after the events & before changing back that the cramped feeling of sharing room with little Ben & Max had gotten on his nerves which resulted in the shoving shown later), later on he was able to tell her how he feels about her - They were going to have a little leisure drive courtesy of glitch though Gwen had a moment of uneasiness (due to the events of Buggy Out) even if she honestly didn't want to have it brought up when things are much different now & what he was getting through during then, which results for them walking for a while and her telling him why she felt uneasy at first and felt guilty about such but he told her that it was alright for him to be aware of it so it helps him know what bugs her so she can feel comforted. After hugging one another Glitch catches up to both of them and escorts them back to the RV, during the ride he non verbally consoles her which prompted a soft smile which he also did the same. - During their early adulthood and her being pregnant with Devlin at the time they both watched some reruns of older Lucky Girl episodes and enjoyed their quality time together, while Kevin was getting some groceries due to her craving she had slept and had a nightmare that she had lost him to an accident. She was uneasy for a while until he had returned home and reassured her that he'll make sure nothing bad would happen to him for both their sakes. - When it comes to which aliens that Gwen is fond of she would say she likes them all since they come from someone that she's grown to adore whom adores her back, she enjoys how sweet and cuddly Kev's Bashmouth is and loves to give him hugs since it is a good stress reliever for the both of them - Once he finishes his special poem he thinks up of going to a nice restaurant that she's been mentioning for a while, while they were ordering her food he goes and recites the entire thing to her, once he reaches near the end he proceeds to bend on one knee & finish off with a proposal as the ring she's liked when she skimmed a ring store in the past (which he earned a lot of money over time for this to be possible) popped from the end of the poem page & into his hand. She looked into his eyes overjoyed with the marriage proposal that she accepted, for once the two didn't mind an applause from the other patrons surrounding them at the restaurant - The couple had spent some time with her family (mostly a lot after their twins Krystal & Kaleb were born) & spent time having play dates with Ben's kids so they can have some interaction outside of home for a while - On a date to a theme park based on Adrenaland the two see a place that has plushes based on Kevin's aliens (since people recognized what the group had done of their heroic efforts) and Kevin decided to win a plush for her (which he won & received Bashmouth and gave it to her as a gift), she enjoyed the gift he gave as they kissed and shared an embrace. - Gwen & Kevin took time to enjoy a snow day and decided to do some activities while having the time of their lives, they grinned at one another while making snow angels - While her hair was starting to grow out she wanted to keep them from getting tangles & knots so after dong her hair she asked Kevin to give her some braids (he's been learning about doing it for a while), he obliges her and makes a few braids with his own flair - Being fans of Lucky Girl they like to think they are the characters in the story (their children in the future follow suit on the role play), since Gwen would be lucky girl Kevin would be whomever would be the mamoru/darien of that show and be proud to be by his sweetheart's side - Both are proud & doting parents to their children, Gwen shows her abilities & powers to them along with their lucky girl stuff while Kevin tells his kids how proud he is of them & lets them play with the array of alien plushes he owned (Devlin chose Quadsmack, Kaleb chose Bashmouth & because Krystal kind of wanted to choose him before her baby twin did she compromised and chose both Dark Matter and Bootleg) he doesn't mind in the slightest if his little girl wants to have both plushes - While putting on some music they decided to enjoy slow dancing together, while they both gazed lovingly at one another (even if they've done it before they definitely enjoy doing it again) - The picture that was taken during his time with the Tennyson's at Adrenaland Jr. before they were banned from the park was one of his most cherished pictures that he laminated in a frame that was a part of the decor of his and Gwen's home - Since it would be a while before someone would take the time and give Kevin some swimming lessons in safer waters the he and Gwen spent some time together wading through the water with his giraffe floatie - Although Kevin had thought he got the highest score in the newest Sumo Slammers phone game, Gwen had schooled him at the game sometime later in her free time. He was flabbergasted at first but he was impressed that she took the crown in such a short time. - At a point of time he playfully teased Gwen once calling her 'Carrot top' he did it to be endearing (aside from his usual princess nickname he gives her) he tries to not tease her as much as he teases her cousin, she knows and appreciates it but tells him to tone it down to a few times when the mood strikes - Before Gwen was his girlfriend,fiance and wife along with Ben being his brother in law they were his first and most treasured best friends that he ever had, even if he had a tsundere like attitude towards it and that his relationship with the two was a bit rocky at first and he loves every moment that he doesn't feel alone in the world - If he went back to human form when he was still a baby he would've clung to Gwen because he trusts her, though he would probably grumble and growl at Ben sometimes much to Gwen's displeasure - A few years later the Tennysons & co would pay a visit to Simon and the others and would note about if Kevin was Gwen's boyfriend considering how he acts around her, both their faces had never been more red that day though he sees her as his girlfriend until they made it official later - Based on a twitter post during Digital Quality in a AU sense Kevin & the Tennysons had combined their efforts through a song to fight against Lord Decibel - They both care for another if ones gets ill (but take proper precautions as well before and during it) and appreciate each other for doing that as they grow closer - When either is down they are there to cheer each other up and comfort one another (if Gwen was feeling down and he was Bashmouth he would be right by her side and just be his cute doggo self which brings a smile to her face, even if she would be crying/having a sad expression on her face) - If Gwen wanted to be able to see things and some people were too tall for her to get a good glimpse at something Kevin would change into Dark matter and place her on his shoulders for her and him to get a better look (or another alien if she needed higher elevation) - While watching a load of monster/horror movies they decided to binge, Gwen notices some similarities Kevin's aliens had in correlation to those movies which to her teetered it being between either coincidence or being intentional in some sense - Since she liked his free styled rap in what rhymes with omnitrix they went ahead and did a duet for the fun of it and had a great time - Kevin enjoyed their campfire stories and could imagine to interact with Gwen during those segments of the stories, his favorite would be when she gives him her galaxy brownies to eat -Gwen may make quips about Kevin’s mullet but she does like the way he wings with it compared to others that make it look like really messy bad hair

Velociraptors, Dilophosaurs and a Fallen Kingdom: A follow-up On The Canon Of Jurassic World Aftermath

Recently, we published an article exploring how we thought Jurassic World Aftermath may fit into the wider canon – with lots of speculation as to the role that characters like Dr Wu would play within the story. Now, we can follow-up on that article with some facts pulled straight from a session spent with the new VR Game. The footage to accompany this video can be found on our YouTube channel, and is courtesy of fellow Jurassic fan Brent Kappel, who actually appeared in Jurassic World as an extra!

Without any further ado, let’s break down some of the most interesting pieces of lore introduced within Jurassic World Aftermath. Spoilers ahead for anyone planning to play the game themselves.

The key thing on everyone’s mind is obvious – how are there more Velociraptors on the island? We learn, in Jurassic World Fallen Kingdom, that Blue is supposedly the last of her kind – which makes her an invaluable asset for Doctor Wu and Eli Mills to obtain. Naturally, you may think that the inclusion of Velociraptors here in Aftermath takes away from this – but careful consideration has been made to think about where they slot into the story. The N.M.S Centre was an off-the-grid facility so to speak, in terms of the fact that the work they did at the facility was not well known by the other operatives working on Isla Nublar. In fact, mention of Owen Grady and Vic Hoskins is made at one point – acknowledging that neither of them knew about the existence of the programme. This suggests that the work being conducted at the N.M.S Centre was different to the work being conducted by Project IBRIS – and therefore was kept relatively quiet in comparison to InGen’s other project. 

But, you may be asking, why was there a need for a second Velociraptor project?

The answer boils down to the science and genetics of Jurassic World. We know that genetic modification has been a key story point for the latter films, and this is no different in Aftermath, with the work at the N.M.S Centre proving vital in allowing the geneticists at Jurassic World to continue to enhance how much they can augment the code of their dinosaurs. The NMS Centre, in particular, was working on the Velociraptor Genome, and was experimenting with areas like elevated social hormones, suggesting that they were taking the work which IBRIS had done, and seeing if they could tailor-make a Raptor which is more able to respond to commands – aka the latter Indoraptor. We also learn that work had been done to get the raptors to respond to audio prompts so they could come for feeding – again, building upon the idea of these being Raptors who can be more effectively trained and controlled. The way Wu is communicated throughout here as a narcissistic and egotistical character is very interesting, too, as it helps to sell his character as someone who is purely invested in his work without any of the ethical confines which may have otherwise held him back. The mission to recover the Velociraptor Genome ultimately takes a change of pace when, at the end of the game, it is revealed that we need to recover Blue’s DNA. Indeed, in this moment we learn that Blue’s creation seemed to be an accident. Wu was experimenting with monitor lizard polymer raised to promote parthenogenesis (asexual reproduction) when Blue was born – implying that she may be able to reproduce naturally in the current Jurassic World Dominion timeline.

So, how does all of this tie directly into Jurassic World Fallen Kingdom, and the birth of the Indoraptor? Well, as we already know from the film, the mission to recover Blue is an important stepping stone in creating the Indoraptor. Therefore it is natural for us to assume that the events of this game are taking place parallel to the development of the first Indoraptor prototype we later see in the film – implying that the work and research recovered here factors in to the eventual creation of that animal. We get more concrete comparison of this being tied together through the fact that Mia and Sam actually have a direct link with Lockwood Manor in the latter part of the game – showing that Wu is indeed working with Mills at this point. It sounds as if Mills is in charge of the operation at this point in time, as Wu mentions him as overseeing the operations at several points. This suggests that the mission to Isla Nublar we see in FK’s opening is perhaps the climax of a long string of missions to recover different pieces of technology which were ultimately needed to continue Wu’s hybridisation work. The most interesting piece of lore here is that we learn that InGen had emergency backup systems connected on the mainland to Nublar – with Lockwood Manor being the emergency backup for the facility. This implies that rather than being a rogue faction, Mills and Wu may have still had some affiliation with InGen during the events of JWFK, although it could equally be implied that the connection existed from the Jurassic Park days when Lockwood was still involved in the parks.

There are a couple of other interesting bits of information strewn throughout the game. The first is that Wu begins to freak out when the character of Emelia (the geneticist helping with the in-game mission)  has a meeting with Simon Masrani in May of 2015. This allegation is taking to the InGen Board, with Wu pulling her up for insubordination towards a superior. This is interesting as Wu becomes very defensive and suggests that she may damage the work of both him and the board – implying that rogue elements inside of InGen may be working against the wishes of Masrani this whole time. Whilst this isn’t anything new per-say, it does provide interesting insight as to where people like Hoskins may have fit into a much larger game being played in the shadows by other entities in InGen. Of note, also, is the way Wu presents his work throughout these audio logs – implying that he is working on multiple projects which will change man’s understanding of the natural world. Much like we saw hinted within Camp Cretaceous, the implication here seems to be that Wu may have worked on many more projects than those we simply see on screen.

A couple of final bits of interesting information we wanted to highlight is to do with specific details inside the story. Firstly, we learn that Isla Nublar’s Jurassic World did, indeed, use a Geothermal Plant – and that the Dilophosaurus can be found nested in there. Whilst this game does take place two years after the titular film, it is entirely possible that they have been nested in them for some time – which may explain the lack of encounters with this particular dinosaur so far in Camp Cretaceous. In addition to this, we also learn that Nublar is under a UN Quarantine following the events of the Jurassic World incident – meaning that we are in a similar situation to that which we find in JPIII. The fact the characters only have one hour on the island suggests this may be more stringent, however. Another fun detail comes in a mention of the Monorail – with it being revealed that the Indominus tore through the monorail track at some point before the main street battle, explaining some of the damage and devastation inflicted upon Nublar between the incident and JWFK. There are also a few other moments scattered throughout – including a fun visual nod to the Jurassic Park Visitors Centre.

All of this comes together to make a piece of Jurassic media which is much broader and deeper in terms of canonical scope than I think any of us expected going into it. Whilst we remain hesitant about whether this will be a ‘canonical’ story or not, I think that there has been some great work here to build on core Jurassic concepts. The character of Wu is developed incredibly well, and the ties to Lockwood Manor and Mills are executed well, too – making enough sense when considered alongside the events of Fallen Kingdom. Overall, Jurassic World Aftermath appears to have a lot of value in building up some pre-established areas of the canon, whilst also building to the future. As mentioned in the article, the idea of asexual reproduction in Blue poses an interesting question for Jurassic World Dominion. A recorded speech from Ian Malcolm present in the game also talks about a course correction after we have meddled with science to this point – setting the perfect precedent for what we are expecting to see in the upcoming sequel.

u know the moments inbetween the later trk chapters, when ronan returns from his dream with bloodied hands and yet another death on his shoulders, grief-stricken.... and the next chapter we find him frozen in his car at a loss hope to cope. what happens inbetween? it’s adam, just as in shock at ronan’s loss, rushing to the couch where ronan was sprawled when dreaming, gripping ronan tightly in his arms so that when ronan awakens the first thing he sees is adam’s face and reassuring voice, so he can simply break down right then and there without fear of judgement

and right after, in the car, how adam just KNEW?? how to deal with ronan’s freezing coping mechanism and instead of wrangling ronan out of the car to eat something or talk or whatever, adam just cancelled his shift and frustratedly got into the car to sleep beside ronan in the passenger seat like. just being there physically, supporting ronan in the only way either of them needed or felt comfortable to

also why at some point in trk ronan smells like the hand lotion he gave to adam? (when blue remarks on it in the caves) how did that come to be? maybe ronan dreamt up more lotion and keeps it nearby just because he associates the scent with cabeswater and adam and dreaming and freedom and everything that makes his soul happy, and the scent helps him fall asleep without feeling anxious or restless. bio dreamscape aromatherapy btch

most of all, THAT MOMENT DURING/AFTER THEIR 1st/2nd kiss...... can someone please write a detailed and feelsy (thats a word i promise) description of those scenes, especially when ronan was trusting enough to let adam see and trace his tattoo that night for the first time, like that scene requires an a++ 1k word essay about how it happened

My apologies @witchwolfmouse. I realized I kinda hijacked your post regarding M*ribel:

Y’all there’s room for people to ship Isobel/Maria and there is room for other people to be critical of the ship considering Isobel’s treatment of Maria and how deeply Maria dislikes Isobel because of how she treated Rosa... If you’re going to ship the two of them, considering what’s unfolded between the two of them onscreen thus far, then you’ve got to be prepared for some people not to be about it, especially fans of color and wlw of color and especially black fans who fall into either or both categories.

And I admittedly got in my feelings and droned on more than anticipated, so I made my reply into a post, since it was so long.

I'm ship and let ship. I have been that way from the beginning. The only reason I even became as vocal about shipping in this fandom in the first place was because of how unwelcoming it was for anyone who shipped anything alternative from the canon ships. There should be equal space for shipping and for those critical of it, and for a long time there wasn't equal space just all of one or the other depending on the ship.

Ironically, now it's slightly more equal but ridiculously divisive for silly reasons, but I digress.

I do think that an inability to take shipper goggles or whatever goggles off to actually understand certain criticisms about race and its relation to shipping, fandom, and within the show and how it's handled there has led to a lot of defensiveness by some who only see criticism as negative attacks, then respond in defense, which prompts defensive responses back and a host of others feeling genuinely invalidated and unheard, especially when what they are pointing out is skirted over.

There are genuine people who ship maribel, and hey, if you like it, I love it for you. I don't have to ship it or agree with it, but for those who genuinely love it, more power to them. Flood the tags for them. Make content.

Ironically, that's literally all I personally wanted from the beginning. Diversified content and discussions even if it's not my thing. By doing so, it makes me smile. It's all I ever wanted so it's not a nuisance for me personally.

Plus in this case, while I don't care for Isobel or the ship, I'll never say no to more Maria content. Fk it up!

Regarding M*ribel and discourse. To put it bluntly, and to go back to where some of the original friction and frustration stemmed in this fandom. The beauty of it is how much space there is to discuss in detail all angles of the amazing queer representation which I love, but the inability to discuss the race representation and issues and even the intersectional aspect of race and queerness, not without it always somehow stepping on the toes of queerness.

A wlw ship would be amazing. Hell, if it's done well, maybe this wlw ship could be amazing. Ship away, but also, please, know that someone criticizing it for legitimate reasons doesn't have to mean they are invalidating you or the wlw representation, especially when someone's criticism may be coming at it from an angle of a POC, or WOC, or QWOC who also feel invalidated. Quite damn often.

There are a lot of racial aspects of this show where despite the show's diversity, are very problematic or uncomfortable (a diverse cast does not mean all diverse issues disappear, if anything, it highlights them more so). And fans of color who voice them or have a different take than you should not have to be lambasted because they are approaching something from a different angle you may or may not have the experience with or know about.

LGBTQ fans some of whom may not be of color can look through their lenses of their own representation and what that means good or bad. But fans of color also do the same. We're always going to do the same. We can't shut that off as it's our identity and how we see the world through our experiences. Just like many of you, and those of both do it from both angles too.

There's a heterosexual bias willingly acknowledged frequently in fandom "the straights" or "the heteros" and that's fair and valid. Rarely does anyone enter the space and get pissy about that and not without being checked directly or indirectly. But you can't enter the tag and present something from a POC viewpoint or a WOC viewpoint without being directly or indirectly checked and often by people who honest to goodness aren't in the position to do so and show that based on how they choose to address or frame something.

Why? Why the "I don't see it that way so it must not be true?" Or "prove it or your lying" angle? Why do fans of color--too many to be dismissed as a fluke-- have to explain or otherwise be invalidated? That is what that is. Invalidation.

A racial bias being acknowledged or even a gender one makes people defensive or uncomfortable or unkind. That isn't fair. That isn't awesome.

And it has been a problem for a very long time.

Now if we're talking about m*ribel. Where some may see a wlw ship, a classic enemies to lovers ship, two beautiful women who could be something magical... Maria being in on the alien secret via Isobel... snarky personalities and sniding becoming something deeper ... hot hate sex ... two badass women who have been through some sh!t being a badass couple together... I do get the angle.

Where some people see that, I personally see a ship that makes me uncomfortable. I understand not everyone will see it as I do, and that's okay, as I said, ship and let ship.

But for me, when I think of Maribel, I think of Isobel violating Maria and her mind without her consent. I think of how disturbing it is that another woman did that to another woman without thinking about it as a violation (you don't have to agree, but much like what Noah did to Isobel at more extreme levels, it makes ME think of the rape and power dynamics and abuse dynamics).

I see someone who has had a total disregard for humans outside of her presumed husband violating them at will with powers she has yet to fully gain control of thus putting herself and those she violated at risk. I think of how unusual it is that she doesn't even have friends she hangs out with and doesn't know how to be one, or to be nurturing, or kind, or considerate.

And I don't know if I would like to see her with someone who is snarky and such, but also all of those things too. I see someone who is selfish in general and selfish in all of her relationships, and it's troubling (to me) when someone so inherently selfish is ever combined with someone who isn't because of how draining that is.

And to me, Isobel is the most selfish character with no give, and I don't care for the (far too common) trope of a black woman having to guide her into the light as a project and build her into a better person.

I think of an unfortunate history of women of color being violated not just by men but also white women that goes back centuries.

I see Isobel's total disregard for Maria's life and agency. I see Isobel's sense of entitlement she cannot seem to shake where she thinks she is entitled to Maria's acceptance and attention and her anger that Maria has the audacity to dislike her because apparently people are supposed to like her even when she treats almost everyone terribly. Which is a very subtle but very insidious barely noticeable dog whistle type of example most people of color can attest to as an example of white privilege.

I see someone who has clung to Maria specifically despising her on behalf of Rosa (and maribel shippers are welcome to interpret it as confirmation of a crush or attraction, and they can do so I understand that take, too) so much so that her primary reason for believing that Maria was an evil alien killer was the fact that Maria didn't like her nor as a psychic with legitimate abilities didn't allow Isobel to violate her.

The racial context of that scene alone was bothersome because of two cops jumping to a conclusion and sharing their theory with citizens with no concrete proof before speaking to their suspect (Maria) and using the word of a known racist and an entitled white woman with a grudge (Isobel) to support their theory, which if that doesn't parallel real life and how POC can find themselves at the mercy of the criminal justice system due to this, I don't know what is.

I see a woman who didn't have the slightest grasp of mind violation until she was violated by a brown man (who subsequently ended up being the presumed big bad of the season). That's what I see with M*ribel.

Where some shippers are able to see the chance for more LGBT rep and that's valid. I see troubling racial undertones that genuinely make me almost as uncomfortable as Noah and Isobel, and that too should be valid, and considered, and respected, and not dismissed, or misconstrued deliberately or otherwise.

There should be space for the criticism too, and the different takes, especially takes deeply rooted in another form of disenfranchisement. Just, consider and respect that sometimes. Not all fans of color will have the same take, we're all different people, so no one person can speak for the others, which means sometimes there will be opinions that differ on reasons that relate to race, and that's okay too.

From the first episode until now. Through Maria sidelining, and maricael/miluca shipping, and Malex angst, and Echo obstacles, and Liz decentralization, and the demonization of Noah, and Rosa injustice...through all of, there are things that should be discussed freely without being invalidated, dismissed, or made into something else.

There are many ways in which there will be race perspectives and things fans of color will present and ponder that other fans may not consider at all. And sometimes it will spill into something you like or enjoy, but those feelings especially about something so personal and specific and real ... even if you don't like them, or agree with them, or they make you uncomfortable or defensive, they matter too.

HM HM HM okay let’s see... like i guess the thing is that ultimately is written for charlie and what i’ve done for natasha is being their own person is rly integral to them? like charlie grew up in a house where at any period of time, nine ppl were living under the same roof? like he didn’t have much time to himself that he literally upped and moved to romania lmfao. and natasha like, one day i’ll remember to post her family tree, but she’s in the same boat in a way, especially when her family moves from america full time. then she’s suddenly thrown into a household with all her extended family. they need to be their own people first, and i mean that independence does hurt communication and the needs of not just themselves but others as well and i guess that’s why i wrote the long walk for their relationship to finally find that point where they were like. yes. where their lines finally crossed over and stayed crossed over, instead of simply running parallel and sometimes moving in but barely touching?

natasha asks for slytherin, should've been ravenclaw. much distress, and first yr in between running around with the vault of ice kind of finds her spending a lot of time in the towers and stuff. she likes high places. 

this gonna sound bad but i dont rly remember much of the 1st yr of hphm apart from not sealing the vault properly, but anyway natasha and charlie were friends anyway that mattered and natasha wasn't a very good slytherin for befriending a gryffindor AND a weasley

second yr is kind of the time where she meets bill and like on the one hand is a little infatuated with him but they are rly good friends at the end of the day. she pulls away from charlie a bit bc of it but then again i figure around this stage charlie has started his crusade of entering the forest in some respects so like. he’s not even on the grounds half the time lbr. also, i dont remember much of this yr either a lot happened. but the ice knight was there.

third yr aka vault of fear! again, with the bs, i think natasha knew of everyone PRIOR to their intros and stuff so they’re all kind of good friends but ig this is also just my thing of like. small classes post war. even with the attempt at animosity between houses, especially post war, kids probably aren't going to do. that. and i know slytherin is all death eater kids basically but most of them are probably orphaned too by the end of the war. theyre all scared ANYWAY social circle expanding... idk this yr was a ride too i remember it a little bit more than the others ig. idk what happened here rly

OKAY SO FOURTH YEAR RIGHT that’s when it’s literally a year of dating charlie in game but whatever. so going from literally spending only classes together and maybe like the one christmas if bill and charlie stayed in the castle at the same time, natasha and charlie did talk and were friends but it was on the down low towards the end of third yr. until it wasn’t bc literally all the scheming to get into the forest and mr charlie ‘i asked my brother a million questions about you over the summer’ weasley just rolling up. and theyre in each others spaces A Lot which is kind of wild for the both of them considering they’re both from large families and personal space is A Thing™ they both really need but their friendship really deepens this year. they’re very honest with each other, and whilst bill is natasha’s best friend just because of how they click, her and charlie have this understanding between them that it’s hard to get between.

except fifth yr comes along and smacks everyone in the face. natasha finds out what puberty is over the summer, along with a prefect badge. charlie also has a bit of a growth spurt around this time, so they’re awkward and lanky around each other early on. natasha also dates myron wagtail during her fifth yr, as well as esther szohr and a couple of other ppl here and there. she’s all giggly and twirling hair and I'm so sorry charlie she just hasn’t noticed you at this stage. but it’s not rly a good year for her, mentally all around, so don’t feel too bad ig.

sixth yr she’s getting tired(er) and lightly dates other people as well. broke up with myron over the summer, and like. has started to see charlie in another light, kind of? but at the risk of ruining her friendship, madly writes to bill most of the time about ‘how do i get your brother to notice me????’ because communication is key and natasha doesn’t actually know what it is. she’s also named captain of slytherin quidditch team this yr, and well. ends up spending a ridiculous amount of time closer to charlie’s second great love. sees another side of him. swoons in the stands a lot. they kind of reignite their friendship as well, as it just politely simmered in the back. teach other spells. lots of touching with hands like no no wave like this... it’s very romantic and high strung and they’re dumb teenagers not sure what to do.

they mess it up over the summer between sixth and seventh yr tho. lots of kissing. some other stuff. natasha spends a bit of time with the weaselys before returning to hogwarts. hormones everywhere.

seventh year starts with them kind of tiptoeing around not knowing where they stand relationship wise, and they’re not!! good!! at talking!! so it’s like a big drawn out game of whispers to figure out who said what but it breaks off bad and natasha cries a lot and charlie feels awful too and they’re mopey and shit for a while. like they can’t be in each other’s spaces for a while that they kind of completely withdraw to their own houses sort of thing. eventually, with a few helpful nudges and stuff, they at least talk to each other but don’t know if the friendship is there. 99% sure penny was ready to amortentia the both of them to ‘fix things’ and also just to prove she could do it. also probably didnt help that barnaby and a few other slytherins jumped charlie and quidditch team as 1) for natasha but also 2) for quidditch and that also really prompts natasha and charlie to talk because they rly cant let ppl do it for them lol

same year still, but as things start to improve and they can somewhat pick up their old banter without getting sad, bill invites natasha over for xmas because he’s actually given it off. never mind that in between all this, natasha took to writing to myron again, which just. not nice natasha jfc. natasha and charlie enjoy an incredibly awkward trip back with some UST, kiss again in the spot where they pretty much shared their first kiss, refuse to talk about the kiss, natasha buys charlie a new wand, they try to talk about it but its mostly natasha apologising for being a brat.

theyre still not back ‘on’ though, and have some make outs in locker rooms anyway, to the both of their confusion. are they ever going to talk? no. UNTIL ENOUGH IS ENOUGH and natasha’s not good at words but she’s good at actions and yknow what? fk it. slytherin might’ve won the quidditch cup, but when she landed in the middle of the pitch, and charlie reached out to shake her hand, she grabbed the front of his uniform and pulled him in for a big damn kiss in front of literally everyone, cup in her other hand. she keeps a photo of it on her at all times after that. 

i also have a fic I'm writing that was kind of before the celestial ball was announced where they organised kind of 7th yr graduation dance thing and it was going to be quiet and intimate kind of and natasha and charlie end up finishing the night together, falling asleep on a balcony and waking up with each other sort of thing lol

and that’s only ‘91. late ‘91 is when they separate for job opportunities. natasha goes to work at gringotts for a bit with bill, and charlie goes off to romania. they get a few weeks in of summer loving before, though, also post graduation celebration. but they write constantly and stuff. pursuing their own lives kind of starts to become a thing.

in ‘92, early they kind of make a vow to each other when they get a bit of time off and go to greece. its very romantic and a big step forward in commitment for them, as they don’t really see each other for the rest of the year. also, late 92 natasha starts working at durmstrang, which removes her even further from the stream of things.

early ‘93 is not a good time for charlie because of what happens to ginny and ron, so he’s not exactly in the best mindset as theres some self doubt at removing himself so much from his family, he cant be there so easily when they need him most. midway through ‘93, natasha gets attacked at durmstrang, and it takes ppl a while to actually find her. charlie spends a long ass time in st mungos beside her until she wakes up, and they reaffirm their feelings for each other when she does. natasha admits that she had called for charlie, being the last thought she had, and she creates the little runic stones for the both of them as a way of contacting each other, or just reminding them the other is there.

natasha returns to working in late ‘93, and in ‘94 they see each other again at the world cup. i know i said they took a break and ig they did but its easy for them to flirt dumbly until things go to shit with death eaters. until they punch one! and later on natasha is brought in as hired help to tutor the students brought to hogwarts, but because her ‘inside knowledge’ of the school is valuable. her and charlie hook meet up quite a bit when he’s present for the first task. also because she’s hanging around for the entire year, she is there for the yule ball and stuff. lots of writing to charlie like do you remember when we danced? so romantic.

idk what happens in ‘95. i haven't planned anything. same for ‘96. short of natasha going to romania to visit charlie a few times, and how her work ends up bringing her into the ministry a bit. its not the same kind of cooling off as hogwarts where they question the relationship, but apart from letters they dont really see each other.

in 97 however!!!!! bill and fleur’s wedding and like. they spent a bit of time apart again, so natasha puts on her best to impress her boy. and charlie wants to propose but also because he’s totally smitten by the idea of making it real between them as a proposal via ribbon only does so much lmfao. and they get interrupted! and separated for quite some time actually. natasha ultimately returns to her family, for the larger part of 97 she's working with them as they deal with the fact her grandfather made a deal with death eaters, and that her ancient family history is coming back to bite them in the ass. like i know in the books they say charlie went around recruiting foreign wizards but thats so HANDWAVEY of jkr yknow? granted she never rly sounded like she knew what to do with charlie apart from shipping him off to romania. I'm sure he went to romania like YO we cant let this happen come with me when it mattered, but you’ll have to fight me to convince me he wasn't with his family for a large part of the story, and that he wasn't doing underground work and stuff in the mean time (you can’t change my mind)

in 98 though everything goes to hell for natasha’s family and she, in a moment of panic, calls for charlie. and he literally runs to her, and they both nearly die for it, but like he finally sucks up the courage to ask her, for realsies, if she would marry him. its been like 10yrs of will they wont they for them and only so many bets can be placed. 

they get married late 98, and i know i never quite decided on smth big or intimate, but i think i’m happy with a ‘they had a big damn wedding and it was ridiculously opulent and flowery for autumn where you would’ve thought it was spring sort of thing. or maybe even something blissfully wintery. they’ve moved out of their summer romance phase, where it only came around for a few weeks at a time. relationship development.

High anxiety day for unrelated reasons, might have to tap out and listen after I get some sleep, but hoping it will help to get out of my head for a bit. Still Lydia's birthday. Cel is working up to a proposal. Oh thank God they're going to sleep. Zolf is being reasonable about this. Oh good point Cel, sleep could help the Kobolds a lot. Hamid casts Endure Elements on himself and Skraak. New spells and feats won't  come until after the dungeon Zolf takes first watch. Oh Skraak and the new kids sleep in a pile. Skraak gets proper sleep. Azu takes second watch with a nat 20 on perception. The new kids took a while to go from "ordered to rest" to actual sleep. Azu can hear movement in the cells and at the end of her watch hears boots approach. Azu's Lay on Hands can now  cure poison. Azu wakes the party Skraak is taller? The new kids are starting to come out of it. Skraak vouches for the party and suggests they take out everything but the party. I love General Skraak. Skraak is speaking properly and the new kids are still at single syllable stage. Surprise round. Initiative. Lad and/or Bloke with a wind up torch. Toss up on this being an actual mook vs cavalry. Its a mook and Zolf charged him with the glaive. Alex is in a generous mood. Mook is down with Zolf's hand over his mouth. Cel reads him for filth. Azu glares at him. Hamid saunters over and casts Detect thoughts (spell doesn't translate :( ). Surface thoughts are mostly pain screaming from Zolf's glaive to his leg. "Skraak is going to murder this man". Huh saying "good for him" out loud was a bit blood thirsty for me wasn't it? Oh well, I stand by it, no sign yet the humans were drugged. Party might want him alive for interrogation etc so I won't pout if they stop Skraak. The new kids are going to help. Hamid shouts at the Kobolds to stop. Pesky morality probably objects to killing a wounded prisoner. The new kids do, Skraak doesn't; ironically I think it's a sign Skraak trusts Hamid not to punish him for disobeying. Azu hesitates but "puts a gentle hand on his chest" and tries to say with her face "slow down". Hamid is waiting to see if Azu is successful before acting. Zolf gets Cel's attention and uses them as translator to begin interrogation. Skraak hearing that Zolf will kill this guy if he doesn't answer should get them on the same page. Skraak is doing good and tells Azu to "move" in English. Hamid explains they will make the mook pay but they need info. Zolf volunteers they will let Skraak kill him after they're done with questioning. "fine" Once again left with the feeling a better person would be making noise about trials and "cold blood" but Skraak is this guys direct victim and the party isn't killing him just not saving him. His victim wanting to kill him is a foreseeable consequence of participating in a genocide of these Kobolds and not something I feel the party has any obligation one way or the other. Break Hamid cast Comprehend Languages which combines nicely with the already cast Detect Thoughts. Mook is still focused on his leg. Hamid shares with the group. Zolf heals his leg enough to get him able to answer questions and directs Cel to start asking questions. Maybe a little more guidance on wording would be advisable, I know he trusts Cel but they are new at this and not concise at the best of times. Cel has a potion for this? Zolf casts Calming Touch Cel asks "how many are you?" Alex explains he will answer everything twice, once for Detect Thoughts, once out loud. He claims there are "loads of us", is in fact the only one on shift. Hamid will be relaying the thoughts to the party. Alex explains the Kobolds won't understand what is going on in English, between the language barrier and being pissed off. Cel asks "what this hideous prison for?"; "you know, the Kobolds" was not a calming answer. Good news is he was thinking about where the other humans were. Cel asks where the tunnel to the mainland is, prompted by him thinking about the other guards being "in the tunnel". He gives the directions. Cel asks how to let the Kobolds out. He asks why you would, "they're Kobolds". Right remember that moral conflict I was concerned about not feeling? Moved on to whether Cel and Azu are obligated to let the Kobolds kill this guy on their own or if they can join in. The boys seem less disturbed and may hang back so they have energy to deal with the rest. Mook is thinking about an ambush being set up in the tunnels. Hamid tells the party. Cel asks about it and "what happened to my village?". So mook may catch on to either that they can hear his thoughts or to Cel's identity soon. Cel shakes him as he asks "who are you?" and "what's going on?",  Zolf objects only because his glaive is at the mooks throat and shaking him results in cuts. "they go out to get supplies and stuff". Shoin found people as awful as him, same disregard he has for others: getting supplies as if terrorizing a poor village and stopping at a store are the same. Cel is the absolute best. They go calm and explain they will be freeing the Kobolds then checking on Jasper. Lydia, we need that backstory! How long has Jasper been their apprentice? Does he have other people looking out for him? "oh crap these are the the people we were supposed to be ambushing". Oh nice, by going by boat they avoided the ambush  leaving the guards tied up waiting for them all this time. Hamid assures Cel they will get to Jasper soon. He is such leader; I am so proud of him smoothly going from translating the mook's thoughts for the team, working out the implications, to making sure Cel is calmed and validated in their concerns. And right back on the ball with a question about the green eyes. Cel asks just all the questions re: Kobold drugging and freeing. Fk this guy. "big boss used the juice on them and they obey orders like they should". Confirm timeline for drug wearing off. Zolf points out that they can let the Kobolds free themselves rather than open the doors one at a time. Oh Cel took Draconic at level up. "they're feral, they'll go after everyone". Right why did I spend a second thinking I should feel bad for being happy Skraak is going to kill this guy? Also reminded of AR and the dragons being treated as weapons, Alex has a point about treating people as tools that I can't articulate but is very good. The whole party is on the side of the Kobolds as this guy tries to frighten them with the idea the Kobolds will bring the place down on them all. Cel is seriously the best, they address Skraak and the new kids directly, to tell them the Kobolds will be okay. Skraak directs the new kids to start letting the others out, all three start doing so. Cel asks again about a button to open all the doors at once, mook keeps on his "you can't, they'll kill just everything" bit. Zolf tells Skraak "have at him" and keeps his glaive at the mook’s throat. Azu gets out of Skraak's way. Skraak approaches the mook with their spear as the camera turns away because we don't need details. The green is almost gone from their eyes but still drugged calm so only not fidgeting suddenly sober panicking. 10s of thousands Alex? Oh my. The Kobolds they free are freeing others, so it gets exponentially faster as it goes on. "freedom pyramid scheme" I like that. The boys stayed, Cel & Azu walked away, while Skraak dealt with the guard. Alex is being tasteful with the details but no one was expecting gracious restraint from Skraak. Hope it was cathartic, Little Buddy. Zolf addresses Skraak. Tells them the Kobolds can do what they want with this place, the party will handle the guards on their way out. God I love this party, not presuming to tell the Kobolds whether they should destroy the place or keep it as compensation is exactly the recognition of their autonomy I wanted to see after all that "feral" talk. Cel asks practical questions. Come on, I've been envisioning the Kobolds joining Cel's village since the onion room. Let's heal together! Cel invites Skraak to their village, but you know not in a chatty mood. Cel asks after after the squid. Skraak says they were erratic but lacks details. Cel speculates re:blue veins effecting Shoin's control. Zolf points out they will need to get on board the kraken. Skraak: don't let them live. Zolf: we're not going to. Skraak: if there are any left we'll finish them. Azu: good to know. Hamid "do you want my help?" break my heart kid Skraak picks up a guards pack and heads down the corridor. Waves back at the party and says "look after yourselves, Little Guys". Oh Alex, I don't want to say good bye but that was perfect. Hamid runs up to Skraak and gives him the Stalking Dagger they found in dungeon. Skraak knows how to handle it well. The inevitable Sasha joke is sweet rather than painful. Hamid: Seems like you have things under control. I hope I'll see you again. I owe you and the rest of the Kobolds a debt and I want to repay it some time. Skraak: yeah you do. Holy Hannah, they even managed to handle Hamid's fireball guilt perfectly. Not waving it off but not going to let it chew at him for the rest of the series either. He will come back and work off his debt. Ambush time. Signs, I love Alex's set design. Hamid suggests they check Administration before they hit the barracks etc. Paperwork is way out of date. Went from "tax" to shake down about the time they quit doing paperwork. Barracks are a mess, in the why you expect from the sort of people who think like that ass we interrogated. Cel suggests they check out processing, in case what they do to the Kobolds resembles Blue Veins. CWs Alex is being good but I was not expecting the mere existence of exactly what we were expecting to find to effect me like this. Somehow being less personal than Paris is worse. Not informative. Everyone is looking forward to a nice cathartic fight. Oh it would have been so much worse if Alex tried to pull the blow and lessen how badly they regarded/treated the Kobolds. By instead keeping true to the story and using detail control to keep it tasteful it feels like its actually over. I am sick of stories that have "sub human" slave or animal races but gloss over how inherently evil that is. The Kobolds are free now. They know they have help on offer both from Cel being local & decent and from Hamid's guilt over the ones he & the party killed. We aren't going to be expected to have any sympathy for the humans, this isn't an Other London situation where people take sketchy jobs to get by; the guards knew the Kobolds were drugged slaves. They will be dealt with by the party or by the Kobolds per the agreement with Skraak.
