I can very easily imagine Mokona booping Kurogane and Fai on April Fools' Day, Fai taking it in stride and booping both Mokona back and also Kurogane, and Kurogane getting annoyed and chasing Fai around, eventually to give an aggressively kind revenge boop back to Fai.

(Syaoran and Sakura, of course, very sweetly boop each other, and they each get a boop from Mokona and Fai)

Kurogane/Fai D. Fluorite:

They make me feral fr !!  at first they don't trust each other cuz Kurogane can see past Fai's mask and Fai refuses to let himself feel genuine emotion but soon enough they're co-parenting the kids they're traveling with & having each others' backs in battle.  they spend six months alone together unable to speak the same language so they're now fully capable of communicating with each other nonverbally & they're also fighting alongside each other in a full on war during this time!  at one point, Fai is gravely injured & he begs Kurogane to let him die, but Kurogane refuses & instead turns him into a vampire via a wish that makes it so the only person Fai can feed off of is Kurogane.  up to this point, Fai's been calling Kurogane all these ridiculous nicknames like Kuro-chan and Kuro-pii & Kurogane hated them all, but after this Fai starts calling him Kurogane in order to put distance between them & he discovers that he hates that even more!  awhile after that, Fai's past & his intentions to betray Kurogane & the rest of their group are revealed (including the fact that Fai is technically kinda working for the man who killed Kurogane's mother & is causing all sorts of other problems for their group now) & Fai is terrified that they're all going to hate him now, but instead Kurogane cuts off his own arm in order to save Fai's life (arm chopping *is* a love language) & the two of them finally make up & Fai starts calling him by those nicknames again <3

Me, minding my business:

My gremlin brain: okay but like, Fai D. Fluorite CLAMP and Caleb Widogast Critical Role are basically the same character in different flavors: both are studious wizards with false names (that essentially become their real ones with their found family+traveling companions knowing them by the false names) running from their past and hide their true emotions, you've got very Plot Important space-time magic involved in their backstories which involve one of the primary antagonists seeking the use of said space-time magic for Nefarious Purposes that affects the main story and the main party doesn't know about until late in the story, those primary antagonists involved in the deaths of their family and placing blame on them/they feel immense blame from it, having at some point some kind of alliance with that primary antagonist who has psychologically manipulated them, their backstories being ANGST CITY BABEY, they are Not Straight and finish their respective series in a m/m relationship having grown hair long enough to put in a ponytail
