We need to address how it is literally that one SpongeBob episode like
Gamer boy and nonverbal soft farmer boy try to hang out with loser old chaos lord man (he is not acclimating to horse society and his wife took the kids on a girls trip)

When a tree is a whale
I saw a post within, say, the last couple of weeks, that compared fallen trees to whalefall. I liked the post so I could find it again . . because that is an amazing comparison! And, in terms of nutrients and small ecosystems, it really makes sense. However. Now that I hiked up the mountain to get pictures of my favorite example, I cannot find the original post.
Anyway. This is an Appalachian whalefall. And super-congrats to whoever first came up with that. I really wanted to credit them.

Based on local growing conditions, this tree was almost certainly well over three hundred years old. It fell about seven years ago.

I wish I could have gotten a photo with me in it for scale. These pictures don't do justice to how massive it is.

Roevember #7 + 10: Crowd + Festival
In the years after her liberation, Ala Mhigo’s people were not found lacking in jubilation.
Indeed, even her most far-flung child, the Warrior of Light that had beaten the conquerers that had bound her for those 20-odd years, would return on the anniversary of her freedom, and join in the revelry.
And so it was that Lazy stood atop the palace, Raubahn and Lyse, Ala Mhigo’s other famed liberators, at her side. Across the lochs stood the remains of Porta Praetoria, the cermet edifice slowly falling to corrosion, but the stonework painstakingly maintained. A fate shared by many of the imperial bases across Gyr Abania.
The three stood at the head of a throng of citizens, leading in the revelry, all proclaiming in their own way one simple truth.
The Galvuses are gone, their empire fallen with them, and we are still here!
