i made a post like this a while ago about how baffling the changes paul went through in such little time were to me. i don’t know why im just addicted to writing about him, even though i know nobody’s gonna see it, but i might as well.

in the last post i make about this it was much more heavily focused on the amount of time that it took for him to completely change from a boy on caladan to the messiah figure on arrakis and the emperor. i don’t know what it is about me, but i can get so obsessed with paul atreides and his character arc that he goes through in the first three books, and then ending in children of dune. i think it’s almost trying to trick you when you read the books, because paul is not the hero of the story. most of what we see in the first three books are from his perspective, with the exceptions of chapters from other characters views like jessica, irulan, the harkonnens, etc.

what really gets to me though, is his loss of innocence. he was really only a 15 year old boy on caladan who had told his father he didn’t want to be the duke of house atreides, and with the span of eight months, he’s the emperor. by dune messiah he’s committed a genocide. i don’t support it, but it’s just heartbreaking how he’s this false prophet who’s almost being forced into being this religious figure.

weather or not frank herbert intended it, i think paul atreides is just the most devastating character i’ve read. ( i don’t read enormous amounts of literature) im gonna defend him, even with the heinous war crimes against his name, but it’s okay! he’s never done anything wrong!

I was raised in the Christian Church. I read the Bible back to front, front to back, at least twice. I look at everything going on and see exactly what was warned in Revelation. - Revelation 13:16-17

16 And he causeth all, both small and great, rich and poor, free and bond, to receive a mark in their right hand, or in their foreheads:

17 And that no man might buy or sell, save he that had the mark, or the name of the beast, or the number of his name.

Now I'm not religious in any way, logically and morally, Christianity makes no sense what so ever.

“I don’t hurt people because God says not to and I’m scared of hell.” So you’re not actually a good person then. What you’re saying there is if you didn’t fear hell, you would have no issue harming someone.

I dead ass heard a man say he doesn’t rape children because God “says not to”. That is beyond fucked up. Why the fuck do you need to be threatened into not raping children?! You aren’t a good person!!

Not to mention the amount of child abuse that takes place in Catholic and Christian Churches. I have met more registered pedophiles and sex offenders in church than I have anywhere else.

GOOD PEOPLE DON’T NEED THREATENED INTO BEING GOOD PEOPLE

A “loving god” wouldn’t threaten you into being good nor would he damn people to hell just because they don’t believe in him

Supposedly murderers have more of a chance of going to heaven than gay and trans people. That’s not moral. That makes no sense.

According to Christianity, Hitler could be in heaven IF he asked forgiveness before he died. But I will go to hell for being bisexual and questioning religion. What?!

But back to my quoted verse - The mark of the beast? On the forehead? Now think about it a little, what do MAGAts infamously wear? That stupid red hat saying Make America Great Again… and where do those words show? On the forehead…
