Billions in undisclosed funding

“In a short time, we identified over $3 billion in donations to Yale and other universities that were not properly reported as required by law,” Small said. In 2019, he presented his findings to senior officials in Washington, prompting a federal investigation that exposed extensive undisclosed foreign funding.

Three years ago, Small teamed up with retired Brig. Gen. Sima Vaknin-Gil, Israel’s former chief military censor and director-general of the Strategic Affairs Ministry. Along with a team of 10 researchers and an Israeli forensic accounting firm specializing in global financial investigations, they deepened their inquiry. Their research led to a series of reports detailing the influence of the Muslim Brotherhood and Qatari funding on academic content, the promotion of anti-democratic and anti-Israel agendas, and even antisemitic rhetoric in higher education.

Their latest report, released recently, highlights a previously overlooked dimension: Qatari involvement in U.S. elementary and secondary education (K-12).

Soft power in early education

Small, who now serves as CEO of the New York-based Institute for the Study of Global Antisemitism and Policy (ISGAP), describes Qatar’s strategy as one of “soft power,” using vast financial resources to shape narratives and policies through investments in infrastructure, lobbying firms, academia, research, and media.

“The fact that Qatar—a country with fewer than 350,000 citizens—donates more money to American universities, civil society organizations, and cultural institutions than any other nation in the world is deeply troubling,” he said.

According to ISGAP, Qatari funding has also reached K-12 education in the United States. One key example is a program called Choices, run under the auspices of Brown University, a prestigious Ivy League institution. Choices provides schools with curricula, books, and teacher training on history, international relations, and human rights.

ISGAP’s findings reveal that Choices collaborated with the Qatar Foundation International (QFI), an entity operating under the Qatar Foundation (QF), founded by Sheikha Moza, the mother of Qatari Emir Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani.

Documents uncovered by ISGAP show that QFI sponsored teacher training sessions that included Middle East history courses, covering travel and registration expenses for educators. At another event during the COVID-19 pandemic, QFI funded curriculum development for American middle and high school teachers, offering free Middle East studies lesson plans. Though a link to QFI’s website was initially embedded in Choices’ digital materials, it was later removed. ISGAP retained an archived version of the original reference.

Shaping narratives in schools

Vaknin-Gil, now vice president for strategy at ISGAP, called the findings “astonishing.” She said QFI, registered as a nonprofit in the U.S., ultimately influences lesson plans that reach about 8,000 schools and millions of children.

According to ISGAP’s research, over time, the Choices curriculum shifted from presenting a balanced history of the Middle East to incorporating an overtly anti-Israel narrative, including questioning Israel’s legitimacy. “This ranged from omitting historical details like the Balfour Declaration and the Abraham Accords to distorting Jewish ties to Israel and even erasing Jerusalem as Israel’s capital,” Vaknin-Gil said.

Yesterday felt like an earthquake shook the foundations of our climate and environmental laws, followed by a hurricane that scattered the bits all over the place and a wildfire that burned those bits that weren't scattered. Beyond the Time - a brief history of Psycho-frame technology

With the Psycommu firmly establishing its place as a mainstay in many high-performance machines, researchers began focusing their efforts into increasing the effectiveness and capabilities of the system while also miniaturizing the technology.

Engineers under Casval Rem Deikun's Newborn Neo Zeon movement eventually developed a way to build the Psycho-frame directly into the inner frame of a mobile suit by lining the material with a technology known as Psycho-chips. Psycho-chips could replace the large subsystem traditionally required by a by a Psycommu system.

The project was headed by former Earth Federation researcher Nanai Miguel.

With the project's success, the technology was applied to the MSN-04 Sazabi as well as several other machines intended for use by Newtypes.

Hoping to make his final confrontation with his long-time rival Amuro Ray a fair fight, Neo Zeon's supreme leader Char Aznable leaked the technology to Anaheim Electronics. The Psycho-frame would be applied to the RX-93 ν Gundam.

Chan Agi was also given a sample of the Psycho-frame material by October Saran, which at one point resonated her will, manifesting a small Psycho-field to deflect a mega-particle cannon blast.

A mysterious resonance between Char and Amuro's Psycho-frame systems lead to the formation of a Psycho-field. Through sheer force of will, the Psycho-field was able to force the asteroid Axis off course and away from the Earth, preventing Char's plan from coming to fruition. This event would be dubbed the "Axis Shock".

Officially, following the end of the Second Neo Zeon War, development and application of Psycho-frame technology was officially halted citing "too many unknowns" regarding it. Unofficially, however, research continued under the UC Project.

The project would result in the RX-0 Unicorn Gundam, the first full Psycho-frame mobile suit. While previous machines incorporating the Psycho-frame did so near and around the cockpit, the Unicorn interwove the material throughout its entire structure. This allowed a Newtype pilot to potentially directly control the mobile suit through sheer willpower.

The construction of the frame remained consistent with RX-0 units 2 and 3, the Banshee and the Phenex.

Psycho-frame was also known to manifest crystals, dubbed Psycho-shards, when perfect synchronization between pilot and mobile suit is achieved.

Psycho-frame would also be incorporated into some other technologies. Jona Basta wore a Psycho-frame equipped normal suit during his pursuit of Phenex. The exact purpose of the modified normal suit is unclear.

The Psycho-frame would see further development and use over the course of UC history. It would be incorporated into several mobile suits developed by the Federation's Strategic Naval Research Institute, such as the F90N and F91 Gundams.

And finally, nearly a century after its initial development, Psycho-frame technology would be incorporated into the α000-0001 Gaia Gear α. It was the only man-machine known to use such a system.

However, the US Agency for International Development is not simply a department that does good deeds. Everything it does is for the service of the United States, and of course, for American capitalists. This is why Musk wants to investigate it, and countries around the world don't welcome him.

I will say though; I love the design for General Alex Miles from Federation Force. It perfectly blends the Federation Marine and Federation formal attire together perfectly;

Given one is from Prime and the other from the mainline games, Miles’ outfit basically marries the two depictions of the Federation from either series together. The gold is such a nice touch too… I’d love to see fanart of Miles in a non-chibi art style, and as a full-body portrait too; I don’t think we ever see Miles in person, just from the chest up?

They’re an interesting character to me; Neither their gender or even species is clarified, but the latter might be human because of the name and build. Miles’ name reminds me of Adam Malkovich… Alex Miles… They’re the Federation Force’s CO, their own Adam, just as the pilots themselves are akin to Samus in terms of gameplay and being unique Federation assets. Miles notably wants the Metroid egg on Talvania, saying it could bring “good” to the galaxy… Big red flag of course.

But it IS worth noting that the primary objective of the mission is to destroy all Metroids on Talvania by activating the self-destruct; The egg is optional and secondary. And when the Metroids are released from containment after the Federation Force activated the self-destruct countdown, Miles tells them to forget about the Metroid egg and just focus on getting out of there; You have to go against their orders by retrieving the egg anyway, and risking yourself to do so.

So Miles is interesting to me in that they might actually be well-intentioned? Or at least care for their troops. Given their introduction in Federation Force, which sets up Sylux’s plans in Beyond, it makes you wonder if Miles will appear there too. Are they corrupt? Do they care, in a “The path to hell is paved with good intentions” sort of way?

Will we see them replace or work alongside Dane in Beyond? They’re a General, which means they command ground troops and infantry; Dane commands the fleet. I speculate the planet we see at the start of Beyond, as well as the rainforest, are both the same world; Probably Cylosis, possibly across different points in time. Which means we won’t see much of space nor the Federation fleet; Which makes Miles more suited as a CO for Samus here, since all Federation allies will be situated on the ground.

Then again, Miles is seen commanding a fleet during the Doomseye battle in Federation Force, so maybe the titles are being loosely used and the developers don’t care for real world accuracy when it comes to military ranking and hierarchy; Tbh I’ve normally never cared either and am only researching it for the sake of reconciling the different depictions and uniforms of the Federation, as well as considering how characters such as Dane, Adam, and Miles interact.

I remember seeing someone suggest that Alex Miles is Sylux; This is why they suggested getting the Metroid egg, and how they were able to sneak in, operate the tech, etc. But this makes you wonder, if they hate the Federation, why value the Force’s lives? Why help them defeat the Space Pirates in the Bermuda system? I guess it all boils down as to the exact nature of Sylux’s hatred for the Federation, if it’s because they’re corrupt but they sympathize with troops they know personally as good people.

Granted Sylux’s intro in Hunters might indicate otherwise, but there could also be other context to that scene, or they don’t know those troops and can’t take the time to evaluate them. As for attacking the Space Pirates, maybe Sylux is strategically maneuvering both factions into destroying one another; It would explain why they’ve never worked with the Space Pirates before and even competed against Weavel in the Alimbic Cluster; They hate the pirates too!

Miles is probably meant to be male and the developers just never considered the gender-ambiguity of the name Alex. But it’d be fun if Miles was a woman, maybe even an alien because Chairman Keaton has a name like that despite also looking like that. And we could meld this with Female Sylux speculation if they’re the same character after all. They’re both mysteriously masked too, though for Miles I imagine it’s because the developers thought a human face would look too silly in the Chibi art style, hence why everyone wears helmets, and Samus never takes hers off. I guess ‘Sylux’ and ‘Alex’ have similar second syllables…

This provision risks shielding controversial gain-of-function experiments or other hazardous research from public scrutiny.

Section 319L-1(b):

Relates to: Strategic National Stockpile and countermeasure collaboration.

Purpose: This section grants sweeping authority for federal agencies to collaborate with private entities, exempting such collaborations from antitrust laws under the guise of public health emergencies. It permits private discussions on countermeasure development, production, and distribution—shielded from public scrutiny. The language is deliberately vague, leaving the door wide open for monopolistic practices, profiteering, and unchecked influence by private companies over public health resources. This is a textbook example of government power being quietly expanded under the pretext of emergency response, while sidelining transparency and oversight.

Study identifies Brazil as a potential leader in the energy transition

Johns Hopkins research highlights Brazil’s competitive edge over other resource-rich nations

Brazil ranks among the four countries with the greatest potential to lead the global energy transition, according to a study by the Net Zero Industrial Policy Lab (NZIPL) at Johns Hopkins University, to which Valor had exclusive access.

The study evaluated technological and policy landscapes across seven key sectors critical to the projected 2050 green economy and found that Brazil holds significant competitive advantages in developing a robust green industry. These advantages span strategic minerals, batteries, hybrid electric vehicles powered by biofuels, sustainable aviation fuels, wind energy equipment manufacturing, low-carbon steel, and green fertilizers.

Unlike other resource-rich nations, Brazil benefits from an already established industrial base. However, the Johns Hopkins researchers warn of substantial gaps in public policy. While the federal government’s Nova Indústria Brasil (NIB) plan is promising, the report highlights the need for clearer strategic focus and targeted investments to achieve meaningful impact. The R$468.38 billion allocated to the program, the analysis cautions, risks being spread too thin across too many priorities.

The research team, led by climate policy expert Tim Sahay, director of NZIPL, does not advocate for abandoning traditional industries. Instead, it emphasizes microtargeting—prioritizing the seven most critical areas to unlock Brazil’s leadership potential in the green industry over the next two decades.

RUSSIA, CHINA AND BRICS PREPARE MASSIVE BLOW TO US DOLLAR DOMINANCE WITH LATEST CURRENCY MOVES

The BRICS trade organization, with the backing of the Russian Federation and the People's Republic of China, is preparing a major blow to U.S. dollar dominance in the global economy with an expanded payments system for trade between nations that will not be pegged to the U.S. dollar, according to reports in the Russian media.

The report, published in Russian news outlet Ria Novosti, stated that a new decentralized, blockchain-based international payment system, known as BRICS Pay, will make it possible to bypass Western sanctions while boosting the economic influence of BRICS, BRICS member states, as well as developing countries that trade with BRICS nations, while accelerating efforts to create a new international trade currency.

The United States sees these developments as a direct threat the U.S. dollar and its status as the World's reserve currency, according to the news outlet, with one of the main goals of the BRICS organization being the avoidance of International dependency on the U.S. dollar for trade outside the Western sphere of influence.

Already, 95% of trade between the Russian Federation and the People's Republic of China is conducted in Yuan and Rubles.

This kind of trade, conducted outside the U.S. dollar, "increases solvency and economic resilience to uncertainties and external shocks," says Shen Yi, the Chief of the BRICS Research Center at the Development Research Institute of Fudon University, as quoted by Ria Novosti.

“Objectively speaking, the diversified development of the international monetary and payment systems is consistent with the changing trends in the distribution of power and the general direction of evolution of the global system,” Yi noted in an interview with the Russian news outlet.

The news agency says the next step in this development is "our own system of international payments."

Recently, Russian Presidential Assistant, Yuri Ushakov, announced the intention of the BRICS commonwealth to create a payment system using a blockchain-based digital currency, with the purpose of developing a modern, effective payment service (BRICS Pay) intended to make international payments between countries "convenient, cost-effective, and most importantly, free from political influence."

"We need to completely move away from the peg [of international trade] to the dollar and Western instruments like [the] SWIFT [payments system]." Ushakov added.

Experts point to a BRICS payment system as a method of avoiding the sanctions of the United States and its Western allies, emphasizing that BRICS countries, and countries trading with BRICS member-states, will be able to perform mutual payments while avoiding the U.S. dollar, weakening the currency's role as the backbone of international payments and the world reserve currency.

The report also adds that a decentralized cryptocurrency payment system based on blockchain technology would be far more difficult to track, helping countries to avoid secondary sanctions while trading with nation-states under economic assault by the West like the Russian Federation.

Furthermore, a BRICS payment system will become a direct competitor to the Western-dominated and controlled SWIFT payment scheme, strengthening multipolarity in global finance and undermining the dictats of the United States and the European Union, while increasing the financial and political heft of the BRICS organization and its members.

According to Yaroslav Ostrovsky, a specialist in the strategic research department at Total Research, “If this project is implemented, its participants will switch to their own currencies in international payments, without the dollar and SWIFT terminals. At the same time, it is planned that countries outside the bloc will also be able to use the new system. The synergistic effect from such interaction will strengthen the position of BRICS in the global economic system."

Setting up such a payment system will take time, with financial experts suggesting it could take upwards of a year for debugging and implementing the payment scheme, while some experts say the system could become the basis for a future, single, BRICS supranational currency, and perhaps even a direct challenger the U.S. dollar's position as the world's reserve currency.

The new payment system, as well as any future BRICS currency, are a part of a process for which BRICS aims to become a global organization, trade union, and international financial association in direct competition with the Western-dominated international trade system, based on the U.S. dollar, that is currently wielded as a weapon against the adversaries of the West through its sanctions regime and it's control over International institutions.

Russian Aerospace Forces will receive modernized Tu-160 bombers this year

The Russian Aerospace Forces will receive four new Tu-160 strategic bombers this year, two of which will be the modernized version.

Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu was informed of this during his visit to the Kazan aviation factory today. Two more Tu-160 were currently being produced for Russian troops.

The second Tu-160M2 took off on September 17, 2021 in Kazan for the first flight.

The Tu-160 is a strategic supersonic missile transport bomber with a variable sweep wing, developed at the Tupolev Design Bureau in the 1970s and 1980s. These aircraft are the air component of the Russian nuclear triad. They are designed to destroy the most important targets behind enemy lines with nuclear and conventional weapons. They are capable of carrying 12 cruise missiles on board, with all weapons located inside the fuselage.

The first prototype of the Tu-160M2 was not a new plane, but a modernized jet from the stock.

Serial production of the Tu-160 was discontinued in the 1990s and now Russia is working to resume the construction of the bombers in a new version - the Tu-160M. Externally, they do not differ from the basic Tu-160, but their combat capabilities have been significantly increased by expanding the range of the weapons and equipping them with new NK-32 engines of the second series, which allow them to increase the flight range by 1,000 km.

The contract for the supply of the first batch of 10 aircraft worth 15 billion rubles each was signed on January 25, 2018.

On January 12, 2022, the first flight took place.

The Russian Ministry of Defense plans to order 50 of these aircraft and intends to modernize all 16 strategic bombers in service to the Tu-160M version.
