Can I just say that Max Fenig deserved better? He was only in like two episodes of the X Files but his story made me so sad. He was so sweet and genuine, I wish he had gotten to live a peaceful life.

Over the years, Max Fenig had plenty of experiences that aligned with the phrase ‘don’t meet your idols.’ William Shatner rolled his eyes when he’d asked him for an autograph as a kid, Robert Stack almost hit him with a car (that might’ve been an accident, but he was skeptical), and his letter to Rod Serling was returned to sender just a little too quickly for Max’s liking. His mom said it was bad luck, but Max just accepted the fact he had a tendency to set his hopes a little too high and he destined himself to be let down.

Last night proved there’s an exception to every rule.

The minute he laid eyes on the man in the cell next to his, he was almost positive it was the legendary M.F. Luder.

Max Fenig is 3,000% percent the guy I would lose my fucking mind over after meeting him in the occult section of the local indie book/zine store.

We’d go HAM in a Goodwill together -- he’d let me wear a killer vest he found that we both liked -- and get coffees afterward. 

He’d eat you out in the back of his van when he took you sky-gazing out in the middle of nowhere and you’d be down so bad and then you’d never hear from him again but you couldn’t even be mad at him, only fond memz of Max :///

Mulder and Scully get involved in the investigation of a commercial airliner crash that had among its passengers a well-known alien abductee, Max Fenig. One survivor is found at the crash site and Scully is quick to notice that he is suffering from radiation burns. Mulder also notices there is a nine minute gap between the time the authorities say the plane crashed and the time found on the watches of several of the dead passengers. The government official in charge of the crash investigation, Mike Millar, scoffs at Mulder's other-worldly explanation of the crash and that it involved an encounter with a UFO. He begins to change his view when he can't explain some of the physical evidence.

*"Tempus fugit" is Latin for "Time flies."

it's always bothered me that in Fallen Angel mulder is told that max's body was found in a cargo container, but then he's just suddenly alive in Tempus Fugit.
