I have just a few more new-to-me inks to sample/review in my ongoing quest to find peach inks that relate to the Pantone color for the year. I would say today’s ink is of mixed success. I think it might actually come closest to what I was looking for (though it is still missing that ethereal band-aid yellow tinge). However, it is also so light in many nibs that it’s virtually unreadable. Some…
So I’m working on redesigning the cover art for A Stranger’s Offer so I played around with my new inks from Ferris Wheel Press - this was a pretty quick piece so I may do a different version later.
Second new ink! "Blushing Mushroom" from Ferris Wheel Press. Also a shimmer ink but I really loved the color that the combination made. Unfortunately it proves difficult to capture a picture that does it justice.
It's a cooler purple (I have sooo many purple inks whyy) but with a rose gold shimmer.
Day 25: Hampton Harbour Sage. Testing out and swatching a new ink from Ferris Wheel Press. Love this shade of green because it isn’t too garish or loud. Green can be a tricky color. I feel like this and a sepia or brown ink would make a nature journaller swoon. I'll have another color tomorrow and it's a gooood one.

I’m working on an art project which requires me to swatch a lot of inks by obtaining a lot of samples.
You will all be getting my unsolicited opinions about bottled inks. Here’s a sampler:
Sailor inks are for the rich. Noodler’s did some shit and you shouldn’t support them. I wrote three words in Organics Studio 5 months ago and it’s still smearing on my hands and over everything oh god oh god to this day. Ferris Wheel Press is my nemesis in this life and the previous.
Cult of the Lamb art from 01/13/23 livestream. I used both fountain and dip pens for this one. The game has been occupying around 70% of my brain this week especially with the update coming out in a couple days. The Lamb is exploring Darkwood, I’ll be doing the other domains over the next week or so. We’re going to Anura next!
Pilot Iro-Utsushi with medium nib and glass dip pen with Ferris Wheel Press Spruce Country Post, Diamine Oxblood, Diamine Writers Blood, Diamine Golden Sands, and Pelikan Edelstein Star Ruby.
Platinum Preppy 03 nib with Platinum black cartridge.
For the last year and a half, I have been assisting the Dromgooles at various pen shows, selling and educating about ink. One amazing benefit of this arrangement is that I get to see firsthand which inks are the most popular and in demand; I also get a chance to review those inks! A big thank you to Dromgoole’s for letting me grab a bottle of Ferris Wheel Press Poison Envy to review.
Ferris Wheel…
Russet Typecase ink swatching. Coming to The Everyday Collection at Ferris Wheel Press on Aug 2nd. A warm, sepia brown. Would go great with vintage ephemera.
