Each week (or so), we'll highlight the relevant (and sometimes rage-inducing) news adjacent to writing and freedom of expression. This week:
Inkitt’s AI-powered fiction factory
Inkitt started in the mid-2010s as a cozy platform where anyone could share their writing. Fast forward twenty twenty-fuckkkkk, and like most startups, it’s pivoted hard into AI-fueled content production with the soul of an algorithm.

Pictured: Inkitt preparing human-generated work for an AI-powered flume ride to The Unknown.
Here’s how it works: Inkitt monitors reader engagement with tracking software, then picks popular stories to publish on its premium app, Galatea. From there, stories can get spun into sequels, spinoffs, or adapted for GalateaTV… often with minimal author involvement. Authors get an undisclosed cut of revenue, but for most, it’s a fraction of what they’d earn with a traditional publisher (let alone self-publishing).
“'They prey on new writers who have no idea what they’re doing,' said the writer of one popular Galatea series."
Many, many authors have side-eyed or outright decried the platform as inherently predatory for years, due to nebulous payout promises. And much of the concern centers on contracts that don’t require authors’ consent for editorial changes or AI-generated “additions” to the original text.
Now, Inkitt has gone full DiSrUpTiOn, leaning heavily on generative AI to ghostwrite, edit, generate audiobook narration, and design covers, under the banner of “democratizing storytelling.” (AI? In my democratized storytelling platform? It’s more likely than you think.)
Pictured: Inkitt’s CEO looking at the most-read stories.
But Inkitt’s CEO doesn’t seem too concerned about what authors think: “His business model doesn’t need them.”
The company recently raised $37 million, with backers including former CEOs of Sony, Penguin, and HarperCollins, proving once again that publishing loves a disruptor… as long as it disrupts creatives, not capital. And more AI companies are mushrooming up to chase the same vision: “a vision of human-created art becoming the raw material for AI-powered, corporate-owned content-production machines—a scenario in which humans would play an ever-shrinking role.”
(Not to say we predicted this, but…)
Welcome to the creator-industrial complex.
Publishers to AI: Stop stealing our stuff (please?)
Major publishers—including The New York Times, The Washington Post, The Guardian, and Vox Media—have launched a "Support Responsible AI" campaign, urging the U.S. government to regulate AI's use of copyrighted content.
Like last month's campaigns by the Authors Guild and the UK's Society of Authors, there's a website where where you can (and should!) contact your representatives to say, “Hey, maybe stop letting billion-dollar tech giants strip-mine journalism.”
The campaign’s ads carry slogans like “Stop AI Theft” and “AI Steals From You Too” and call for legislation that would force AI companies to pay for the content they train on and clearly label AI-generated content with attribution. This follows lobbying by OpenAI and Google to make it legal to scrape and train on copyrighted material without consent.
The publishers assert they are not explicitly anti-AI, but advocate for a “fair” system that respects intellectual property and supports journalism.
But… awkward, The Washington Post—now owned by Jeff Bezos—has reportedly already struck a deal with OpenAI to license and summarize its content. So, mixed signals.
Still, as the campaign reminds us: “Stealing is un-American.”
(Unless it’s profitable.)
#WarForever
We at Ellipsus love a good meme-turned-megaproject. Back in January, the-app-formerly-known-as-Twitter user @lolt64 tweeted a cryptic line about "the frozen wastes of europa,” the earliest reference to the never-ending war on Jupiter’s icy moon.
A slew of bleak dispatches from weary, doomed soldiers entrenched on Europa’s ice fields snowballed (iceberged?) into a sprawling saga, yes-and-ing with fan art, vignettes, and memes under the hashtag #WarForever.
It’s not quite X’s answer to Goncharov: It turns out WarForever is some flavor of viral marketing for a tabletop RPG zine. But the internet ran with it anyway, with NASA playing the Scorcese of the stars.
In a digital hellworld increasingly dominated by AI slopification, data harvesting, and “content at scale,” projects like WarForever are a blessed reminder that creativity—actual, human creativity—perseveres.
Even on a frozen moon. Even here.
Let us know if you find something other writers should know about, (or join our Discord and share it there!)

teach please me — tutor!reader x soccer player!rafe
reader's life is meticulously planned, from high school to becoming president of the country—she knows exactly where she's headed and every step to get there. but her airtight plan hits a snag when the principal ropes her into tutoring rafe cameron, the school’s star soccer player, who’s failing algebra and at risk of being benched next season. the team needs him on the field, and reader needs the principal’s glowing recommendation to secure her spot at her dream school. balancing her ambitious goals with rafe’s chaotic charm might just throw her perfectly crafted plan off track.

friday february 7th
“i think we covered that part in the google doc, right?” you murmured, scrolling through the endless document on your laptop. the screen’s faint glow reflected on your glasses as you squinted at the tiny text.
“is it the budget allocation?” gisele, the student treasurer, asked, glancing up from her own laptop, her fingers still clicking through tabs. “like, everything surrounding the budget? because i did work on that a bit, so i might’ve done it. my laptop’s just being kind of weird right now.” her tone was distracted as she fiddled with a stubborn cursor.
“y/n?” danny, your vice president, called, breaking your focus. you looked up, brow furrowing as you noticed him, gisele, and annie, the secretary, all turning their attention to the glass wall on the left.
you followed their gaze and spotted your friends outside in the hallway. ivy was tapping her watch with exaggerated urgency while devon held her phone up, the screen flashing a clear reminder: you were ten minutes late for lunch.
“uh, okay. let’s wrap up,” you said quickly, your words stumbling over themselves as you closed the document. “if we didn’t cover the allocation, i’ll handle it… whenever. anyway, see you guys next week?” you forced a smile, trying not to let the stress seep through.
danny nodded, already packing his things. “yep, see you.”
“bye!” gisele called cheerfully.
“next week!” annie added with a wave.
you slid your laptop into your bag, slinging it over your shoulder as you hurried out. “hello!” you sang, pushing the door open with a grin. “sorry, i’m late.”
hazel immediately hooked her arm around yours, her touch warm and grounding. “totally fine, but we’re dealing with an absolute tragedy,” she said dramatically. ivy jogged ahead, spinning around to walk backward, her expression exaggerated.
“devon got a seven on that philosophy paper about perfection,” ivy announced, her tone as dire as if she were reporting a global catastrophe.
your brows shot up in surprise, and you turned to devon, who was covering her face with both hands. “what happened?” you asked, concern lacing your voice. “philosophy’s your favorite class.”
devon groaned, dragging her hands down her face in frustration. “i didn’t have time to do it properly. i literally worked on it like, minutes before the deadline.” her grimace was both sheepish and annoyed.
hazel chuckled softly, shaking her head. “guys, a seven isn’t that bad.” her voice was light, trying to soothe devon’s obvious distress.
she wasn’t wrong—it wasn’t bad at all. but for your group, used to skating the upper edge of every grading curve, it felt like a glaring anomaly.
"true," ivy added quickly, as though trying to lessen the blow. "hazel and i got an 8.5." she gave a little shrug.
as the group burst into the common area, you all found an empty spot to settle in. ivy dropped into a chair with exaggerated flair while hazel and devon slid into seats across from you.
"how much did you get?" devon asked suddenly, her voice curious but a little wary.
you shrugged, fishing your phone out of your bag. "i didn’t even know we got the results already," you admitted, brushing a stray strand of hair behind your ear as you tapped into your school app. navigating to the grades section, you waited for the page to load, the spinning wheel on your screen adding a small sense of anticipation to the moment.
the room filled with the low hum of chatter around you, but your friends stayed quiet, leaning in slightly as they waited for your result to appear.
it all happens so fast that your brain can’t keep up. you glance up absently, just catching a glimpse of rafe as he passes by. his shoulders are stiff, tension radiating from every inch of him, his phone gripped tightly in his hand. a fresh black eye, dark and swollen, blooms angrily on his face, stark against his skin.
you barely process it. your gaze drops back to your phone, where your grade stares back at you: a perfect 10.
"i got a—" the words die in your throat as you look up again, frowning. your friends glance at you, confused as they pull out their lunches, but you don’t have the words to explain.
you toss your phone onto the table and push to your feet, already rushing out of the common area. "rafe!" you call after him as he disappears into the hallway. your friends’ voices follow you, but you ignore them, your focus fixed entirely on him. you’d explain later.
he doesn’t stop, doesn’t turn, just grunts over his shoulder, "not now." his voice is harsh, clipped—nothing like the easy, teasing tone he’d used over dinner with his parents a few nights ago.
"yes, now," you insist, quickening your pace until you’re jogging to catch up. you reach for his arm, grabbing it firmly, and he stops, though his whole body hums with resistance. "what’s wrong? what happened to your face?" your eyes scan the bruise, the deep purples and blues spreading in a jagged line across his cheekbone. it looks fresh, the kind of pain you can almost feel just by looking at it.
"nothing happened," he snaps, jerking his arm free and moving again. his tone is so dismissive, so cold, it cuts deeper than you expect.
but you don’t give up. stepping in front of him, you hold out your hands, planting yourself in his path. "rafe, that looks bad. did you ice it?" your voice softens, concern lacing every word as your eyes flick back to the bruise. you know it wasn’t there yesterday. you would’ve noticed.
his jaw tightens, and he lets out a sharp, frustrated sigh. "god, you never listen, do you?" his voice is raised, though not quite a yell, and the edge in it makes you flinch. the sting of his words sits heavy in your chest, but you bite down hard on your bottom lip, refusing to let the tears brimming in your eyes fall.
for a moment, his expression shifts—his eyes soften, guilt flickering there—but it vanishes as quickly as it appeared. his face hardens, and he tries to move past you again, brushing you aside like you’re not standing right in front of him.
"no," you say firmly, shoving at his chest—not hard enough to move him, but enough to make him stop.
before he can argue, you grab his wrist and yank him toward the nearest classroom. he protests, his voice low and angry, but you don’t let go. the door creaks open as you push it, dragging him inside and letting it close with a soft thud behind you.
the air feels heavier now, quiet but thick with unspoken tension. rafe exhales sharply, his frustration palpable, but he doesn’t pull away. not yet. you steel yourself, determined not to let him shut you out again.
"tell me what happened," you demand, arms crossed tightly as you plant yourself in front of the door, your posture daring him to try and push past you. the determination in your stance feels flimsy against the weight of his indifference, but you hold your ground anyway.
"i walked into a door," he says flatly, perched on the edge of the desk with his feet casually propped on the chair. the sight of him, so nonchalant with that faint bruise blooming on his face, makes irritation prickle at your skin.
"rafe, who did that to you? why are you so angry? just tell me what happened," you plead, the words tumbling out in a rush as you try to chip away at the fortress he’s built around himself.
"no." his voice is clipped, cold, like a door slamming shut.
"rafe—"
"i said no." he’s standing now, his movements sharp as he strides toward the door. but you’re still there, still unmoving, still stubbornly waiting for the truth.
"move. right now," he orders, his voice low and firm.
"not until you tell me who did that," you insist, anger curling around your words.
"a door," he repeats, jaw tightening.
"rafe," you snap, your patience fraying.
"i don’t want to fucking talk about it!" he explodes, the sudden intensity of his voice reverberating through the room like a storm breaking.
"don’t yell at me!" you yell back, startled by his outburst, the sharpness in his tone cutting deeper than you expected.
he exhales roughly, dragging his fingers through his hair as he turns away, muttering under his breath. "oh my… fucking—"
"and stop cursing at me," you cut in sharply, arms crossing again as you glare at him.
he lets out a bitter scoff, a smile curling on his lips—one that’s anything but kind. "any more requests?"
"yes," you say, your voice steady as you meet his heated gaze. "tell me what happened."
"no," he growls, stepping closer. "now move, or i’ll move you." the warning in his tone is clear, but so is your refusal to back down.
"stop being like this," you blurt out, your chest tightening as the tension between you grows unbearable.
his eyes narrow, his voice sharp and cutting. "how am i being? huh? how the fuck am i being? exactly like you’ve been all week?"
the accusation leaves you reeling, and you frown, searching his face for the version of him you recognize—the one who wasn’t like this, who didn’t look at you like he was trying to break through you. "what are you talking about? i’ve been nothing but nice to you, and if it’s about the bonfire, i told you i was on my period—"
"yeah, and that’s fucking bullshit!" he shouts, his voice thunderous as he stares you down. "your flo app sent you a notification tuesday. you got your period wednesday."
the words hit like a slap, your eyes widening as your stomach drops. "you checked my phone?"
he shakes his head, scoffing bitterly. "i didn’t check your phone. i saw the notification pop up. and judging by the look on your face, i’m right."
he is right, and you hate that he knows it. you nod slowly, caught, but there’s a defiance in you that refuses to let him win this argument. "fine. i lied. whatever. i just—"
"no, no, not whatever," he snaps, his voice laced with frustration. "what happened that night? you don’t think i notice how weird you’ve been acting around me?"
his eyes burn into yours, hurt flashing behind the anger, and you’re standing so close you can feel the tension radiating off him. you’re paralyzed, unsure how to explain yourself, how to navigate the landmine you’ve stepped on.
"i’m not. i’m not being weird," you try weakly, your voice faltering. "nothing happened that night or any night."
"i heard you," he says, softer this time, but the edge in his tone is unmistakable. "i heard you on the phone sunday."
your mind races, scrambling to piece together what he might’ve overheard. the memory clicks into place—your conversation with hazel.
"and i don’t even need to ask if it was about me, do i?" he continues quietly, the bitterness in his voice replaced by something more vulnerable. "you promised someone you wouldn’t get close to me?"
you exhale, your shoulders slumping under the weight of his words. "rafe—"
"don’t fucking lie to me," he interrupts, his voice sharp, loud and unrelenting.
the heat of the argument builds again, the anger and frustration spilling over in waves. "stop cursing at me!" you scream, your voice cracking under the strain.
"stop pushing me away!" he roars back, his words echoing in the charged air. "why won’t you tell me what the fuck happened, huh? why are you acting so weird? why are you being so distant? and why won’t you just let me all the way in anymore?"
the silence that follows is deafening, the weight of his words settling over both of you like a suffocating blanket. he’s breathing hard, his chest rising and falling with the effort, and you’re frozen, your mind spinning.
his gaze locks with yours, raw and unguarded, and for the first time, the fight drains out of you. you don’t have an answer—not one that will satisfy him, not one that will make any of this better. you just stare back, feeling the enormity of everything unsaid pressing between you like a wall you can’t climb.

I appreciate your calm-the-fuck-down post a lot, ngl - from following you, I've seen you have a pretty good handle on understanding what ToS does and doesn't say, and are good at explaining the difference - and I was hoping you could give some insight on whether or not the actually clicking the 'I agree to terms of service' button (note: multi-step process) required to turn off the New! flag makes a difference in the level of data collected - I would expect at the very least it would act as a gateway for whether or not user data is shared with the third party integration, but legalese isn't my field of study.
Agreeing to the ToS to get the little notification thing to turn off would allow tumblr live to share the data that it collects with 3rd party apps and would allow tumblr live to collect location data from your device whether or not you are actively using the app; whether you want to do this is up to you. I do generally recommend having location tracking shut off at a device level, which makes this data collection pretty useless, but I recognize that most people don't have location tracking turned off on their phones.
*HOWEVER*
People are talking about doing this to turn off the New! flag (which IS very annoying) but the most recent post from @changes makes it clear that that is an ongoing bug they are working on; Tumblr has been pretty decent recently about following up on the info they post about on the changes blog and I see no reason to believe that they won't get that bug fixed pretty quickly.
Rather than agree to the ToS I would suggest waiting a few days because I very much doubt that will stick around for long.
And this is not directed at you but I want to use this ask to point to another recent example of tumblr conspiracism: people are seeing the "new" flag as tumblr attempting to force users to agree to the live ToS even as they have offered a longer snooze period and saying that one negates the other - this is being interpreted as malice and a dark pattern and user hostile design.
And I just want to remind people that some time between eight months and a year and a half ago the notifications changed and it was briefly impossible to clear the new flag on the notification button - this is an issue that we've seen tumblr have before with "new" flags after they changed a feature. It's something that people yelled about and sent around guides for blocking the element. It's something that was addressed quickly and was done unintentionally.
I really wish people would stop attributing to malice the bullshit that happens at tumblr that is clearly the result of this website being hilariously broken and held together with hope and chewing gum.
There are ways in which this site is broken that does genuine harm and I'm willing to be cautiously optimistic that the new staff crew is taking steps to fix it (this is about blocked tags; I've been following what various staff members say about this and I have seen small positive steps, staff does seem to be making an effort to unfuck the tags and I can respect that while still being frustrated that it's taking so long). It isn't *good* that the site is held together with chewing gum and hope but it does seem like staff is at least trying to add some popsicle sticks and duct tape to that mix.
The new flag is annoying and I hope they get it fixed quickly and I believe they actually will get it fixed quickly; if you're really bothered by it there's not much harm in accepting the live ToS because the data collected by tumblr live is still pretty minimal compared to most other social media apps, but from a paranoid "fuck all this bullshit" perspective accepting the Live TOS doesn't do much harm at all if you have location data off on your devices (which I think everyone should) and use adblockers (which I think everyone should).

New Game: Honor Bound
New game! “Honor Bound” by Harris Powell-Smith is now available on Steam, iOS, and Android. It’s on sale until December 12th. Please reshare this with friends! The more downloads we get in the first week, the higher we’ll rank in the App Store and Steam.
Protect an exclusive boarding school and rebuild your life after scandal as a military bodyguard for the children of the rich and famous! Return to the world of Crème de la Crème, this time as a military officer in the Republic of Teran.
https://www.choiceofgames.com/honor-bound/
"Honor Bound" is an interactive fantasy novel by Harris Powell-Smith, where your choices control the story. It's entirely text-based—550,000 words and hundreds of choices long, without graphics or sound effects—and fueled by the vast, unstoppable power of your imagination.
You've built a promising career in the Teranese military, a force which has not seen major engagement in decades but which holds vast influence. Thanks to an injury, you're no longer in the field. Thanks to the complicated (read: scandalous) circumstances of that injury, you've been quietly reassigned as a bodyguard for the teenage child of a famous scientist. This should be an easy assignment: your charge is at boarding school in the wilderness, an exclusive sanctuary where the children of the rich and powerful become artists and scientists of the future. The school sits close to your own hometown, so you'll be familiar with the area. Finally, you can recover your health and get your career back on track.
But danger is closing in, and peril can come from inside as well as out. What secret projects are your colleagues pursuing in the dead of night? What is your commanding officer not telling you? Bandits lurk in the wilderness—including one of your childhood friends!—and natural disasters constantly threaten the fragile environment. And then there's the danger to your heart, from the complicated feelings that come from returning to your birthplace, and from adjusting to the new reality of your life. Can you really go home again?
Build a warm community and bond with your colleagues, or impress everyone with your aloof competence. Chase ambition to receive glowing reports and get your life back on track—or become such a disaster that only bandits will tolerate your presence. Or, just maybe, you will have to risk it all for the sake of doing the right thing.

Automated check-ins and geofencing assist in validating visits to ensure the sales team follows their respective schedules. This level of visibility improves efficiency and provides the sales team with the most out of their working hours.
2. Inefficient Sales Route Management
The EduTech field states teams cover vast areas, which makes territory management a significant challenge. Without complete planning, multiple sales reps may overlap in the same places, leading to inefficiencies, conflicts, and wasting time on the same task. At the same time, some areas remain underserved due to poor sales allocation, which leads to lost business operations.
Solution: With the automated territory management feature, an employee location tracking system assigns sales reps to specific locations based on business demand, existing clients and potential leads. It ensures optimal distribution of sales efforts, minimizing overlaps and maximizing market coverage. Dynamic reallocation capabilities of this system allows managers to adjust territories in real-time based on the performance metrics and new opportunities.
3. Difficulty in Monitoring Sales Performance Metrics
EduTech organizations find getting accurate insights into the sales team’s performance challenging. Relying on self-reported data can result into misrepresentation and inaccurate forecasting. Without having precise performance metrics, managers can struggle to evaluate sales efficiency, identify underperformers and reward top performers efficiently.
Solution: The field force tracking app offers detailed data analytics on each sales representative's daily activities, overall conversions, meeting durations and follow-ups. Dynamic dashboards offer views into key performance metrics (KPIs) such as meeting duration, field time and lead conversions. The strategy eventually helps managers to assess individual and team performance, make sound decisions, and implement measures to increase the efficiency of sales.
4. High Level of Sales Rep Turnover
Field sales team members of the EduTech sector tend to experience high turnover rates, which makes onboarding and training a continuous challenge. When the sales team joins, they struggle to determine their assigned regions, the existing client base and sales strategies. Lack of structuredonboarding procedures leads to extended le arning curves and lost sales opportunities.
Solution: Employee location tracker includes features like optimized sales routes, client history, track record of historical data-driven reports, and more. It ensures new hires have access to adequate information on the mobile devices, minimizing the time required to adopt their roles. Managers can offer feedback by tracking real-time employee movements and collaborating seamlessly.
5. Poor Lead Management
In the EduTech industry, lead management is essential to seal deals with schools, universities and institutions. Salespeople are unable to monitor potential leads, resulting in missed follow-ups, slow responses and lost sales. In the absence of an organized lead management answer, field teams may waste time on low-priority leads instead of working on high-conversion viewpoints.
Solution: The employee location tracking system integrates with the CRM system to allow sales reps to log leads, set follow-up reminders and categorize prospects based on urgency. Automated notifications ensure no follow-up is missed and enhance the likelihood of converting a prospect. By optimizing lead management, EduTech companies can improve sales efficiency and maximize revenue potential.
6. Lack of Route Optimization
EduTech sales representatives spend excessive time commuting between meetings due to inefficient route planning. Poor route optimizations often lead to longer travel times, increased fuel costs and reduced meeting slots, which impacts business productivity. Without complete route optimization, sales reps may visit fewer clients in a day than potentially could.
Solution: The employee location tracking system offers automated route planning based on location data, reducing travel time and maximizing client visits. It suggests the shortest and efficient routes, considering traffic conditions. By streamlining daily routes, field team members can conduct more meetings with potential students and their guardians, educators and even institutions, enhance client interactions and improve sales outcomes.
7. Inaccurate Expense Management
Expenses associated with travel, client visits and lodging are a challenge for an EduTech firm. Without adequate documentation, sales reps struggle to report expenses, leading to late reimbursements and potential accounting errors Managing expenses creates an administrative workload for sales reps and finance teams.
Solution: An automated expense management platform allows teams to upload electronic receipts, and managers can classify expenses and review total expenses through data-driven reports - all in one place. Automated approval workflows make sure timely reimbursements, and finance teams can gain better visibility into expense patterns which helps in streamlining budget allocations.
8. Lower Client Engagement
EduTech companies rely heavily on strong relationships with institutions and educators. However, teams may struggle to maintain consistent communication without a complete engagement tracking solution, resulting in dissatisfied clients. Unresolved queries, inconsistent follow-ups and lack of personalized service can minimize client retention.
Solution: A field sales rep tracking software offers structured follow-ups, reminders for check-ins, client meetings, and feedback collection. It allows sales reps to record client preferences, past discussions, ensuring a personalized experience for each interaction. EduTech companies can seamlessly build stronger relationships and enhance client satisfaction by improving client management.
9. Compliance & Documentation Challenges
Educational institutions need sales reps to adhere to substantial regulations and provide documents for contracts, pricing information and overall compliance reports. Handling the documents manually proves to be challenging, which leads to miscommunication, lost documents and overall compliance risks.
Solution: A field force tracking app offers a centralized dashboard where all contract, pricing structure-related information can be stored easily. This application lets Sales representatives quickly access and share information with clients directly. Additionally, automated compliance reminders also help sales teams keep themselves current with regulatory needs, lowering legal risks.
10. Lack of Integration with Existing EduTech Platforms
EduTech companies use multiple software for CRM sales management and other activities. However, when these systems do not communicate efficiently, sales reps tend to waste time switching between tools, resulting to inefficiencies and data silos.
Solution: A field sales rep tracking software integrates easily with your existing CRM platforms and other EduTech tools. This approach ensures smooth data flow across platforms, enabling teams to access client details, learning preferences and sales history in one place. EduTech companies can optimize operations and drive higher conversion rates by minimising manual data entry and enhancing workflow efficiency.
Final Thoughts
EduTech organizations suffer from issues like ineffective workforce management, no real-time updates, etc. Field force tracking app streamlines activities by providing real-time location tracking, instant reports, and insights based on data. This model increases productivity and ensures transparency and accountability among teams.
By implementing an intelligent tracking solution, EduTech firms can enhance workforce efficiency, reduce operational gaps and enhance overall performance. Investing in the proper platform makes workforce management easier, fuels improved engagement with clients, enables making the right decisions quicker, and fuels long-term business growth. ☠︎︎ DAY TWENTY: BODY WORSHIP FT. BOKUTO
☠︎︎ WARNINGS: requested! insecure reader, nipple play, orgasm from nipple stimulation, soft!dom bokuto
☠︎︎ WORD COUNT: 1.2k
after a busy week, y/n and bokuto decided that it'd be fitting to stay in and relax with each other for the weekend. bokuto was currently laying on his abdomen, propped up by his elbows as he'd scroll through the social apps on his phone.
y/n was currently doing the same, resting her head on her lover's back, holding her phone above her face. they'd been quiet for a while, enjoying the sounds of the busy streets below them. the window behind the bed's headboard was sightly leveled high enough for fresh air to pass through the mesh layered behind the glass.
y/n's eyes focused on the screen of her phone, admiring all of the 'perfect' labeled figures. despite wanting to focus her mind onto a different topics, she couldn't help but continuing to scroll from image to image, a goal in mind that there would be someone with a similar body type as her.
the more she scrolled, the more hope was lost and instead replaced with insecurities. she were finally able to swipe out of the endless feed, but without even realizing, she'd instead opened her gallery before clicking on the album in which contained many captured moments of she and bokuto.
a smile crept onto her lips but just as fast as it arrived, it'd left as she now took into notice of her own figure in each and every one of those pictures. as she swiped through each of them, the only thing stopping her from tapping onto the 'trash' icon was bokuto's smile in each pixelated photo.
the silence was soon broken when the sound of bokuto's acknowledging hum was made audible. y/n didn't even notice it until his figure rolled away from under her relaxed head, immediately meeting with the fabric of the bed's comforter. she let out a frustrated grown at the lost contact, staring up at the ceiling before her field of vision was blocked with bokuto's smiling expression hat now hovered above her.
bokuto noticed how y/n barely returned his smiled, causing him to cup the sides of y/n's face, using his thumbs to tug at the corner of her lips, forcing her to smile. she swatted away his hands before noticing how he began to lean down to press a kiss to her forehead. "why are you in a shitty mood all of a sudden?" he questioned, giving her enough space so she could sit up correctly.
"nothing important"
"if it's making you sad, of course its important" bokuto replied, standing up from the bed. y/ n's eye's failed to track his figure, instead, in a daze as her previous thoughts continued to circulate in her head. it startled her when she felt the weight of bokuto lazily slouch over her crisscrossed seating figure. "wanna shower with me?" he questioned, lips directly next to her ear as he awaited for her response.
she hesitantly nodded, the action slightly unusual to bokuto making him squint his eyes at her own, in suspicion. his arms encased her figure, clumsily pulling her off of the bed as she let out and unpleasant call of his name due to his sudden action.
-----------
as y/n got dressed, she couldn't help but get distracted by the mirror's reflection of herself. her surroundings appeared as a blur, the only clear image were she, herself. y/n's expression practically read 'unsatisfied', her eye's lingering on every fragment of her image long enough to not realize that bokuto had entered their shared bedroom.
"n/n?"
y/n quickly blinked herself out of her dazed state before looking over to bokuto's figure. she reached for a t-shirt to quickly pull over her head to cover up her exposed figure but her actions were stopped by bokuto's voice and the contact that his palm made with her abdomen. "n/n" this time her name were called with more of a serious and less confused tone.
"hm?" she questioned, meeting his gaze as she looked over her shoulder to tilt her head a bit. "why are you being so distant today? are you mad at me?" he questioned. y/n immediately denied his theory, shaking her head and noticing how he slightly relaxed at the reassurance. he took the shirt from her hold, tossing it onto the bed before, turning her figure around to face him.
"what's wrong then, pretty?"
"koutarou, i don't feel good" she mumbled, immediately continuing her words when his expression morphed into one of worry. "I mean, in my body. I don't feel good about it. in fact, I don't really like it-" y/n's word were stopped when the bokuto's hand gently palmed her face, stopping her from continuing another set of words.
"that's what's been on your mind all day?" he questioned, watching as she stumbled a bit from his sudden action. she didn't reply but instead reached for the shirt that was previously tossed onto the bed. "n/n, come here" he motioned, smiling when she followed his words.
he tangled his arms around her, pulling y/n closer to himself, noticing how they made skin to skin contact since they'd just finish their shower and had yet to get fully dressed. "koutarou.." he notice how her eyes were filled with regret from her previous confession before he placed a kiss to her lips. "I'm glad you told me what was bothering you".
"and I know I can't change how you feel so easily but, I can at least show you how much I love you for you and you only"
another kiss was pressed to y/n's lips, stopping her from mouthing a reply. bokuto's hand released from around her waist before he found the ones of y/n. he parted their kiss before trailing down to her bare chest, practically expressing his thoughts through the bruised marking that began to become visible on her skin.
soft moans grazed his loose strands of hair as bokuto's warming touch felt so prominent in the low temperature that filled the room. pleasurable moans fell against her skin as bokuto pulled her needy figure closer against himself.
usually, during their intimately shared moments, bokuto would always focus on every part of her body at one time but this time it was different. he carefully guided y/n backwards so she'd be allowed to lay down onto the bed to relax against his touch. "you're so perfect to me, n/ n". bokuto mumbled, taking a glance up to y/n's bothered expression.
his hand reached up to the unoccupied side of her chest, kneading the area in the warm hold of his palm. y/n let out a moan at the sudden pressure when it was accompanied by the action of his tongue flickering against the bruised and sensitive bud of her other breast. she was shocked at the feeling of an overwhelming pleasure suddenly engulfing her.
the volume of her voice raised just enough to satisfy bokuto's ears, as that familiar feeling rushed though her body, her attempt to gain a small amount of friction against bokuto's knee, only made him admire the sight even more.
"see? you're perfect." he smiled, watching as she panted from the unexpected peak that arrived at such a fast pace. "no-"
"can you do that for me again?"
