Something something about the way Eva could only ever see herself as a victim even in situations where she wasn't, whereas Grace never allowed herself to be a victim even in situations where she was. Something about the way Eva plays the role of "the bullied" and "nerd" whereas Grace plays the role of "the bully" and "mean girl". Something about how Grace proudly flaunts her name and talent, demanding those around her to not forget it when Eva shamefully tries to hide her true title in any way she can, even when it comes to the detriment of herself and others. Something about Eva being a liar and someone clings to calmness and composure where Grace remains ever explosive and defensive yet utterly honest to a fault. Someone about how Eva clings to the idea of having no agency and how Grace fights for agency and keeps it tight within her stubborn grip. Something about how Eva aligned herself and submitted to the whims and wills of a man in a position of power over her, whereas Grace chose to punch him down in unrelenting defiance and reject his ideals all together from the start. Something about that subservience getting Eva killed, and something about that defiance allowing Grace to survive.

unhinged observation - we all know their colours don't match the traditional ones, but I've never noticed before that on the portraits they put Jeff in red and Virgil in green, but then they swap them over when we actually see them. In fact, //pause while Len goes to look// when they're in TB3, they're all wearing red - like all the space-rated suits, specifically are red. //Goes to check again// and Gordon and Virg are in green with TB2 in the opening rescue to match Jeff as well.

Does that mean, in 2004 verse, they wear whichever colour matches the 'bird they're currently flying because other than them needing 5 suits each... that's pretty cool can't lie good for them

ignoring the fact they look the same, I can be like ??? well yellow must be wetsuits, red is space rated?? Green is ?? tougher maybe, blue is for however many G's TB1 hits a body with when they're going crazy speeds, orange is a spacesuit for living in space etc etc

Jupiter’s multi-year cycles of variability could be explained by magnetic oscillations in the deep interior

"The well-known banded structure of the gas giant Jupiter varies considerably on the multi-year time scale of 3 to 10 years. There are noticeable colour changes, brightening events, and stormy outbreaks visible at the cloud tops, capturing the imaginations of amateur and professional observers alike.  These bursts of activity are sometimes called ‘global upheavals’ and demonstrate quasi-predictable patterns. They have been witnessed for over 100 years by ground-based telescopes, but their underlying causes remain a long-standing mystery."

"We are proposing that torsional oscillations due to Jupiter’s magnetic field are responsible for the periodicity. The longitude-independent oscillations are a special type of magnetic waves, the Alfvén waves, that are provided by a tension of the magnetic field line: see figure 2 for an explanation of what these torsional oscillations are. The disturbances can propagate as waves, both towards or away from the rotation axis (see figures 2b-c), which means they move in latitude at the surface. Torsional oscillations have been detected in the Earth’s liquid iron core, with a 6-year oscillation period that is detected in the geomagnetic field record, and also through small variations in the length of day. They can also be seen in geodynamo models, which encouraged us to look for them in our models of Jupiter’s dynamo.  Our simulations did show torsional oscillations driven by the turbulent convection that transports heat outwards through the planet."

Wdyt of a headcanon that sen only likes camera but he doesn't know how to use it? Like he collects antique, broken, unused cameras without actually takes a picture with it? (His trivia does say he likes "camera" specifically, not smth like "photography")

I've been wondering this myself — if he likes photography, why not just say photography?

But at the same time, photography is an interesting hobby for someone as violent and feral as Kaibara.

So... I guess I like both interpretations? With the broken cameras specifically, maybe he likes fixing them. (They're probably cheaper that way too, lol. Cameras can be expensive.)

it's not about the comfort or aesthetics, it's about the ecological sustainability. industrial food production erodes the substrate on which it is grown, and continually reduces biodiversity, especially in times of population growth. there is a point at which humans must find other ways to feed, or we will die.

there are more options than just "industrial agriculture with bread shipped thousands of miles overnight" vs "grow potatoes and slave away in a field until you die of malnutrition." i promise that many of the anticiv freakazoids are NOT advocating for subsistence farming, lmao (let alone any kind of regularly cropped farming.)

the guy eating bananas and chocolate and strawberries is really going to talk to us about "the miserable conditions of food production that is substinence farming." like, for real. u think that the current conditions are less miserable. for everyone. u truly believe this.
