I don't know where to talk about this but I need to talk with SOMEONE about how NPMD has an ongoing theme (I think it's a theme?) of people getting a taste of what they always wanted before it is stolen from them and they die.

[MASSIVE SPOILERS]

Max thought the nerds actually cared about him and were willing to do something nice for him out of their own free will.

And then he fell and realised the nerds didn't care about him, they only wanted to hurt him (although they didn't actually want to kill him).

Richie finally became friends with the popular footballers (is it football? I'm Australian idk) and they told him they liked + needed him.

And then Max called out and made Richie think they were bullying him again, then told him that he'll always be a loser.

Ruth got her moment on stage and hit that amazing high note, proving to herself that she could be a lead at a musical theatre and be the star of the show.

And then Max booed her, which essentially told her that she could never be good enough to do it, and he killed her before she could ever perform in front of an audience.

Steph's dad and his assistant don't fit this, but they're not main characters.

Pete finally asks Stephanie out for the dance and she says yes, fulfilling both of their hopes for each other's love.

And then... If Max hadn't stopped the bullet, Pete would've died knowing he could never be with Steph, and Steph would have lived on in sadness. And if Grace hadn't called Max away and tricked him, then they both would have died with the knowledge that they failed to save the person they loved most and would never be with them.

In giving up her chastity, Grace stops the cycle from repeating with Steph & Pete, and instead forces Max to die again. Max doesn't actually lose what he wanted most with his second death, because Grace substitutes her want (to become holy again and to have this never haunt her again) for one of his wants (to have sex with Grace).

I don't know if I'm onto something here, if I'm being crazy, or if someone else has already noticed it.

Head cannon: Fleetway Sonic is it's own entity that possesses Sonic in his super form. It can see all his memories and experience all his feelings. It's driven by a need to cause extreme fear and sorrow and does so by attacking/dismembering/killing people. It has a psychotic, insatiable, blood lust and it will sometimes seek out individuals it perceives as powerful so it can engage in drawn-out, violent, battles to satiate this desire. It consumes blood not because of a need, but a want to psychologically torment it's victims. Sonic doesn't remember his time while possessed, by flickers of memories will sometimes appear in his dreams.

My other head cannon is simply that Shadow has a wildly different blood colour than all other living beings to really drive home he's part alien. lol

Return of the "ooh, where's this path going" -adventures!

Went to a walk (at a daytime, not even an evening one for once) while listening to this week's Crit Role episode, saw my phone starting to run out of battery halfway through, so I was *Forced* to take a detour to the nearest mall, to a waffle cafe and then to a free work space with my sketchbook to wait untill said phone recharged enough for me to continue.

(Well, okay, it was probably recharged, like, an hour ago, but got carried away with the drawing.)

Xaranthras's boss guy now has (half of a) name! Recycling yet another old character from twenty years ago, he's now Anatekenan [insert easier to remember last name here]. Also long time planned but first time drawing, his personal scribe Shaptlala!

They're all basically wearing their boss's outfit as a sort of uniform, save for Xaranthras skipping the shoulder mantle thingy for anatomy and mobility reasons, and the base layer of more skintight clothing because of having fur.

Lala is Anatekenan's oldest friend, and works as his hands, while Xaranthras is a more recent hire. He's the muscle of the team, being Anatekenan's full-time caretaker/bodyguard.

Hey guys I finished writing Sabaody and if you want to see how that one’s going this is all I’ve got for you.

Wrote that sitting on the toilet, actively in the middle of dissociating through my nighttime routine. When I tell you in the middle of brushing my teeth I saw a spider on the wall and crushed it without blinking once. I got in bed and had a made up argument with my ceiling for 20 minutes. I was still awake until like 4 or smth. Y'all I think the lack of sleep is coming for my sweet ass with a vengeance I cannot tame with silly goofs. I forgot this happened until I opened my notes app this morning.

Anyway guys this sure is an arc!!!
