Hi it shouldn’t be hard! W my bachelors I could’ve gone for clinical research or lab tech work, but I was so low on clinical hours that I did a lot of what ppl did during their gap and picked up an MA job. I work for a private practice w a pretty cush pace (we only see 6 patients an hr, which is easy tbh), but hospitals usually need. Neeeeed ER techs/hospital techs (which tbh is j another word for MA).
Hospitals always need ppl. ORs always need ppl. Apply. Cold call if u don’t get any responses. You will get something
EMTing is a diff story - you do need to be licensed for that (that’s the route my bestie took). But w MAing, practices usually know that a lot of their MAs are pre meds w bachelors who are looking to go to med school/nursing school etc etc eventually, so they will accept that and train you. Thats what happened w me. So literally just apply and cold call. You will get some dice!
#But idk tbh maybe I just got lucky? I got hired on the spot but idk if I just sold myself well#But also the doctor is so nice and has been mentoring me and all the staff are incredible#SO reflecting on this I think I j got lucky partially#It has to do w a lot more than the job when you’re pre med#Like networking getting opportunities through word of mouth etc#Getting that rly solid LOR was so big for me too#Shadowing privileges flexibility etc#All things I care ab because I can’t afford to work full time while studying for the mcat or trying to do other things#Usually clinical research is full time and super unforgiving in comparison but my job is super flexible!#Anyway I could go on so feel free to go off anon if u wanna talk ab it!

Folks a second labor violation has hit the workplace
#two TWO times being told i should just stop logging the hours i work#TODAY#like noooooo dont break labor law twice in one day youre so sexy#like its so fucking funny to me youre so serious about us taking this one hour break that youre telling us to instead work unpaid hours#to fit this one hour lunch ?????#like insane. you understand this correct#like insane you are so attached to this one hour lunch you are telling us to do unpaid work if we cant take it#like we are telling u we can do it in bursts but thats not allowed ? sure okay#anyways labor violation…. TWO#the first was when we tried to remind our supervisor of the rules of our parent org for us and they went#‘oh if you have to follow those rules id probably never hire any of you again’#like okay bestieeeee i WILL be getting out. EXPEDITIOUSLY.#like just actually crazy LOL.#also the fact that everyone was like i already work unpaid hours. but i thought in return for that we’d at least get some flexibility#with our schedules (which we HAD and theyre trying to revoke) and them be like ‘yeah sorry.’ LIKE LMFAO#‘its okay if you log your overtime hours’ ‘but also no its not’#like sorry so if all overtime has to be approved like do i call you before i respond to a client in crisis or-#like actually hilarious. i really hope everyone fr starts logging all the hours they work. just to make a point. like. please do that.#god i hope they start just to be like so i actually work 50 hours weeks so time to pay me 13 hours of ot pay ☺️#PLEASE DO THAT GOD.#v.txt

#i need to seriously think about if its right for me#but my mom has said multiple times that she thinks i should see about contacting them for a job#and ive always said no bc 1. if theyre hiring ill see it and 2. i think it would be a lot of late nights. idk for sure tho and 3. anxiety#but im not even looking on indeed atm. they told me about it#which feels lowkey like fate#im not sure if it will be hours that i can do and it says full time and stuff but maybe they'll be flexible. idk#crazy that it just came to me like this#this pastry chef is so talented and so kind and such an amazing teacher i was so sad that i didn't get to learn more from him#he left teaching to open this bakery#and the listing says ideally you should have experience making croissants (i dont only the small amout he taught me) but 'can teach'#I KNOW YOU CAN BESTIE!!!!!!#she was a baker girl

ya know, with the current news and political climate here in the UK, and obviously the state of things globally with regards to trans rights, or lack thereof, as things get worse and worse... it might be a bit silly but I really do think veilguard being so loudly queer, and that you can be openly trans etc, really is kind of important.
I know it's just a video game, but when the world is insistent on trying to erase people for just existing, having these inclusive places, these voices, be they fictional or otherwise? it's nice. it's needed.
it's a drop in a bucket whilst the world is on fire, but drops still make ripples, I guess.

its been almost 2 weeks since my job has given me like. ANY work to do!! this is the longest stretch ive had with no work since starting with them like 2 years ago and they didnt respond to my email yet abt it that I sent a few days ago (: this is Fine! aaaa

i didn't get the summer tour guide job on campus and i am genuinely crushed.
#my options are either to go home for the summer#which would mean living with my parents breathing down my neck and three+ hours from boyfriend#BUT free food and housing#and i can get a higher paying job at a warehouse in the area#or i stay here and work another job#but that means i have to pay for my own food and housing and i make a lot less#but i would be living with my boyfriend and able to take care of my friend's cat for him and be able to be on my own#and on top of all this i got hired at summer camp but that's only five weeks and i'm not working for one of them#plus i would have to take a lower paying job for the rest of summer so i can get the flexible scheduling#idk#i was really really hoping i would get this and i am genuinely devastated right now

Completely almost forgot to apply for that internship I was interested in.... Applications close TODAY BTW. Like. It said "no later than May 1" and I am typing this at 12:01 am on May 1 lmao. I emailed it at like 11:59 on April 30 😭😭😭 Unfortunately the one I really wanted already closed, but the same company has dozens of internships with different departments, so I picked the easiest looking one lol. It's also the one where I would get to post on their Tumblr blog yippee!!! Fingers crossed 🤞
