Is QR code is future ?
In an era where technology is rapidly evolving, the QR code has emerged as a powerful tool that bridges the gap between the physical and digital worlds. From marketing campaigns to payment systems, QR codes are becoming increasingly prevalent. But the question remains: is the QR code the future? Let’s explore the potential of this technology and why it might just be a significant part of our digital landscape.
The Rise of QR Codes
Originally invented in 1994 by Denso Wave, a subsidiary of Toyota, QR codes were designed to track automotive parts during manufacturing. However, it wasn’t until the smartphone revolution that QR codes began to gain widespread recognition. Today, QR codes are ubiquitous, appearing on everything from business cards to billboards.
The advent of QR code generators and QR code makers has further fueled their popularity. These tools have made it easier than ever for businesses and individuals to create custom QR codes tailored to their specific needs. Whether you want to link to a website, share contact information, or initiate a payment, QR code generators offer a simple and efficient solution.
Applications Across Industries
One of the key reasons QR codes are poised to be a major part of the future is their versatility. They can be used across various industries, each finding innovative ways to integrate this technology into their operations.
Retail and Marketing: Retailers use QR codes for promotions, discounts, and product information. By scanning a code, customers can access detailed product descriptions, reviews, and even videos, enhancing their shopping experience.
Healthcare: QR codes are used on patient wristbands to provide instant access to medical records. They are also being incorporated into vaccination certificates and test results, streamlining healthcare processes.
Payments: QR code payments are becoming increasingly common, especially in markets like China and India. By scanning a QR code, customers can complete transactions quickly and securely without the need for physical cards or cash.
Education: In educational settings, QR codes are used to distribute learning materials, access online resources, and even track attendance.
The Future Potential of QR Codes
While QR codes are already making a significant impact, their potential for future growth is immense. With the continued development of mobile technology, augmented reality (AR), and the Internet of Things (IoT), QR codes could play a central role in how we interact with the world around us.
Smart Packaging: Imagine packaging that, when scanned, provides detailed information about the product, its origin, and its environmental impact. QR codes could be the key to unlocking this information.
Enhanced Customer Engagement: Businesses can use QR codes to create interactive experiences, from virtual tours to AR-based games, increasing customer engagement and loyalty.
Secure Transactions: As digital wallets and cryptocurrencies gain traction, QR codes will likely become a standard for secure, contactless transactions.
Sustainability: QR codes could reduce the need for physical materials, such as paper tickets, brochures, and manuals, contributing to more sustainable practices.
Conclusion
While it's difficult to predict the future with absolute certainty, the QR code’s versatility, ease of use, and adaptability make it a strong contender for continued relevance in our increasingly digital world. With the help of QR code generators and makers, this technology is accessible to everyone, from large corporations to small businesses and individual users. As we continue to explore new ways to connect the physical and digital realms, QR codes may very well be a significant part of the future.
Whether you're looking to create a QR code for your business, streamline your payment processes, or enhance customer engagement, the tools are already at your disposal. The QR code is not just a fleeting trend; it’s a gateway to the future.

The Strange Mixtape by @deadcanons. MCU, 64k, casebound at quarto size. Two copies - one for me, one for the author! Plus a funky slipcase to keep it safe in the mail.
The bookcloth and endpapers I both found while on vacation last month. The cloth reminded me a lot of the Aaron Bachalo run of Strange comics, which the author mentioned in the notes as visual inspiration - and I just thought the endpapers looked funky and chaotic and magical in general. The cutouts on the front and the back have a magic circle and a spiderweb vellum underlay, respectively! I always like using this technique on covers, and it felts especially good here.
The slipcase - pulling it together was tricky enough that I only made one of them, and that one's going to the author. There's so much comics inspiration in this fic that I liked the idea of using comics collages to decorate them. I found some nice free wallpaper online for both Strange and Spidey, and I think it brings the whole thing together. There's a New York skyline on the top, a pair of dangling headphones down the spine, and a functional Spotify code for the overall fic playlist on the bottom.
Typeset in Georgia, with Dr.Charmed used for titles and chapter headers, and OCR A Extended for the song tabs. Every chapter has a corresponding song, which is named and cited at the start, with a QR code and a Spotify link so you can listen along while reading!
I was so delighted with this fic when I first read it that I immediately began typesetting it for binding. That was a few months ago, so pulling it together like this is unimaginably satisfying. It's delightful, punchy, and - most importantly to me - every song on the playlist is an absolute banger. Highly recommend checking it out, and please remember to give the author some love!

Welcome!
Welcome to my blog! Due to @mii-gallery being inactive, I decided to share my Miis! I create miis for the 3DS and WII U. If you are a switch user, there's plenty of Switch Creation Videos for Miis, and you should seek them out.
What is QR Codes?
Back in the days of the 3DS and Wii U, the way people were able to generate these Mii Codes were by the built in Mii Maker App on their respective consoles, with the power of just a button, people were able to export Mii Codes and publish them for all to see.
How did you do that when Online Services don't work?
Pretendo, but I don't have Pretendo. I hacked my 3DS in order to use the FTP App that Homebrew has, so I can connect to my PC and that exactly. It's not authorized or well good when you have an SD Card but when you're desperate like me then you need to find other ways of satiating that itch.
What can QR Codes be used for?
Mii Maker
Tomodachi Life
There's a lot of others, but those are my only things I can think of.
Why is [Mii] lowercase?
I made these Miis awhile back on another system pre-transfer and they cannot be edited. Unless you hacked your 3DS then you can rename the Miis itself, the names of the Owner of the Miis are just "Me" because usually I intended for those Miis to be used only by me.
Can I request Miis?
Yes! It's opened! Feel free to send in ASKS ONLY FOR MIIS any other related ask will be removed. Exceptions are made if you are inquiring about a Mii that's been created.
How many Miis can I request per Asks?
Depending on how complex or intriguing the Miis are, you can request around 5 IF they are from the same franchise/source, any mix and matches are not going to happen.
How many Miis have you created?
Alot, I have TONS of Miis from DBZ (Some are OCs), Willy Wonka from the 2005 reboot, Steven Universe, Some Miis that were children on my Tomodachi Life... This blog is just a way to store them all.
How can I support you?
I have a Kofi, so if you want priority you can always donate 3$ to get priority Miis up the Queue.
My Kofi: X

Requests Queue: 9

Hello! I’m a member of the Renegade Bindery, a collective of fanfic bookbinders. The bindery has set up a holidays secret santa-style gift exchange in which we format and bind a fic for another member to add to their personal library. My giftee listed your fic Interim as one of the ones they would like. Looking at your blog, I think you may have heard from members before! Are you okay with having this fic bound (again)? Asks can only be so long, so I will send a follow up with more info.
Hi! Binding for private libraries is a transformative work, so I have no issue with it and greatly encourage binding any of my fanworks as much as ppl like. :3
I only ask that the story being bound to page is never misrepresented as anything but a free fanwork that’s available online for everyone. If I make any request at all, it’s that the physical copy have the URL or QR code or source citation to find the original work somewhere within.
And in general, I would only ever be upset at a binder if someone bound the story, pretended the content was theirs, and tried to sell it for profit. If someone wants the labor of a binding, I want them to know they could have read it for free as a labor of love online first. ❤️

Hey, saw your reblog of the post about flyers being a good way to reach not-so-online folks. Do you have any examples to draw on for inspiration? I'm no graphic designer so appreciate some examples. No matter what I promise not to use Comic Sans or Arial. 😀
Ironically, Comic Sans and Arial are some of the best font choices because they're easier for people with dyslexia to read! They're also widely available on most machines, so if you're going to send an editable version to other folks to print on a home computer, they'll generally render correctly. (you can also export a PDF and force it to do the same if you don't want them to edit)
Some sample full page flyers.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
This is a two up, where I printed on a single page and split the page in half for hanging
Tumblr media
Conveniently, one of the things in the twoup is the same as the full page. We did a smaller, less detailed one for this as it was a mini-event, so we hang in a much more limited area where folks likely already knew a lot of details about the venue as they walked past it.
It's not obvious with these, but generally the smallest text on here is 14 point. These are all in Arial.
The initial header is at least 34 point and some are up to 50, if I had space. The subheading is generally in range of 20-30
Bigger is better! People are generally going to see these while walking so need a really big, clear headline to get attention. You still want to keep it overall large because often walkers are older folks who may not have their reading glasses with them. GO BIG.
Less is more for this type of flyer.
Event Title
date and location
Other info
That's it! That's the basics! Use declarative sentence. One clause per sentence. If you can present things in a list, even better!
If you're doing a BIG event that had sponsors and stuff, you'll want to use fancier posters with their logos and stuff in prime locations and then these little guys that are just "event, date, location" in outdoor locations with low traffic.
If printing at home, buy yourself a light colored pack of card stock in a bright color. I personally use a safety orange. If you're getting them copied somewhere, spring for the card stock. It'll withstand getting rained on a few times and if it's pinned to an indoor bulletin board, you can hang with a single pin without worrying about it curling.
If it's going to be a flyer for recurring event or just info about a local resource like where the food pantry is, put a small "hung on X/y/z" on the very bottom. Some places require a date on posters for hanging and they'll take them down after a certain point to make sure they're still current. If you date them, they may stay up longer, because they know when they were hung instead of going on vibes of "oh that's been here forever" and it was actually only two weeks.
QR codes are something some people like on posters, but I personally am old and suspicious about anything I can't see the destination URL on, so don't use them. If you do use them, look at the place generating them carefully. If you can't figure out how they make their money making free QR codes... you're the product. Be suspicious, don't sell out folks data via QR code data harvesting.
My top spots for hanging flyers:
Bulletin boards at grocery stores
Laundromats
Coffee shop
Library (you will probably have to take it to circulation for approval, so make sure its All Ages appropriate as there are free range children in that library)
trailhead or parking pulloff by a trail.
Transfer station/dump (you may need approval there as it's town property, but you will get ONLY town residents there. It's worth asking at the booth! Same rules as library.)
Good luck with the flyers!

1. How to setup 2FA on your accounts
As some of you may know, my friend @why-its-kai's Discord account was taken over this morning by a scammer.
The scam they used was this one, or close enough; but anyway, the exact specifics don't matter.
What matters is, it can happen to you. It can happen to anyone.
The good news is, you can learn how to protect yourself. Making some small changes can already improve your online security by leaps and bounds.
I made a series of 3 posts covering the basics:
How to setup 2FA on your accounts (you are here!)
How to spot a scam
How to set up a password manager.
Protect yourself with 2FA
Two-factor authentication, or 2FA, isn't a silver bullet -- but it exponentially increases your online safety by adding an extra step to the login process that a hacker/scammer does not have access to.
Every account that you care about (and even those you don't) should have some form of 2FA enabled.
Especially email -- should your email become compromised, this can become a catastrophe.
(For websites that don't support 2FA, use a burner email!)
What 2FA should I use?
2FA can take many forms, from the highly convenient (SMS, email) to the highly secure (security keys), but one thing is certain:
Any form of 2FA is better than nothing.
The simplest forms of 2FA are phone number or email. While these are very easy to use, they are unfortunately not very secure.
Still, I repeat: despite their flaws, these forms of 2FA are absolutely, 100% better than not having any 2FA at all.
On the other end of the spectrum, security keys (like for example a Yubikey) are extremely secure, but they cost money and are a bit of a hassle at time. I use them, but for most people, it's overkill.
What you want is an authenticator app.
Important
A note, before we go on…
If you enable multiple forms of 2FA, how secure your account is will depend on your weakest link.
For example, if you enable SMS authentication AND register a security key, your account will only be as safe as the SMS authentication. The security key is essentially useless.
In other words, the least secure form of 2FA you add determines the overall security of your account.
Sometimes, less is more!
Authenticator Apps
First, choose a free, reputable authenticator. Google Authenticator is a good choice. So are Aegis Authenticator or Microsoft Authenticator.
For simplicity, we'll go with Google Authenticator; the process is rather similar for most authenticators.
First, download the app from your app store and install it on your phone.
Enrolling Gmail into GA
Securing your email should be your number 1 priority, so let's enroll a Google account to Google Authenticator.
Tumblr media
Let's enable two-step verification first.
Tumblr media
Phone number is better than nothing, but not very safe (SMS verification can be spoofed), so let's click on "Add authenticator app".
Tumblr media
Click on "Set up authenticator". Google will generate a QR-code.
Next, go back to your phone and click on the little multicolored cross. It will bring up a menu; click on "scan a QR code".
Tumblr media
Go ahead and scan the QR code.
Congratulations, you have enrolled your Google account!
Tumblr media
Now, whenever you are asked for a 2FA code, just open the app and copy/paste it.
Note: the codes are stored locally on your phone.
Enabling 2FA on Discord
The process is fairly similar. Go to Settings > My Account:
Tumblr media
Click on "Enable Authenticator App". You will be prompted for your password. Enter it.
Tumblr media
Download Google Authenticator if you haven't already. Scan the QR code as described above.
Tumblr media
Do take the time to download your backup codes as well!
As explained above, I personally do not recommend setting up SMS authentication here, since authenticator apps are supported, as this weakens the overall security of your account for little benefit.
Stay tuned for parts 2 and 3!
If you have any questions, feel free to PM me.

I generally believe in free speech and leave signs and stickers be but someone put up some fancy "Palestine" stickers in my neighbourhood and I'm just tired of the bullshit so I peeled them off the lamp posts and thew them away. It's probably a kid at the nearby high school who thinks they're clever and spends too much time on social media. They were high quality stickers, a graphic designer had put a lot of time and effort into them with bright ink for the famous watermelon (originally a symbol used to promote kibbutz products), a map of the Israel/Palestine region (all in one colour of course), and a QR code.
Some were across from my Ukrainian neighbour's house, I know she didn't put them up. Her and my mum who is also of Ukrainian descent are both panicking trying to get everything ready for Easter. It got me thinking. Sometimes she has a Ukrainian flag outside her house. My mom occasionally puts one up too. There's no coordinated movements aside from some online fundraisers and like, trying to inform ourselves and others about what is going on. Any movements I've seen are grassroots. No fancy stickers or QR codes on our end as far as I know. Ukrainians want Russia out of Ukraine. They don't want to kill every Russian on planet earth.
I think of the fancy anti-Israel stickers, and more importantly the student encampments and misinformation campaigns that have sprung up in recent months. These are not grassroots movements but well funded and coordinate efforts built on old prejudices in a modern package. The war is horrible. All wars are. The sooner it ends, with the most lives saved the better. But this "activism" does not reach the people of Gaza, at least not the civilians who need it the most. Dehumanizing jewish and Israeli people is nothing new, but the ability to spread misinformation through social media is. Peace is not the goal here. That's not where the resources are going. Putin does not want peace either. Only domination. As do Hamas and other islamic fundamentalists.
Having a scapegoat or enemy responsible for all the ills of society is seductive in turbulent times. So many of us are isolated and anxious, making us vulnerable. I've seen people much smarter than me fall into hatred and conspiracy theories. These are not new. I'm not immune and neither are you. But we share the world. And each of us has a right to be here regardless of where we're from or where we live. And I'm not going anywhere.
