For the anime asks: 25 :) have a great day/night!
ty!!!!!
25. anime you would recommend to someone who hates anime
real life event that happened to me actually! i have a friend who used to hate anime, but i convinced him to sit down with me for 3 episodes one night, anime of my choosing, and if he didn't want to continue we would stop there and watch something else. i knew it had to be a completed anime (so i approached it looking for a 10-12 episode single-run anime, no possibility of a 2nd season), and that it would have to be a genre he would appreciate i ended up settling on Terror in Resonance. we got to the end of the 3rd ep and he took the remote from me and skipped the end credits and went right to ep 4 KSJBVKJDFVB. he was HOOKED, and has since expanded his horizons in anime anyway, i don't think there is any one Good answer for a first anime, and i don't think i would ever recommend one to someone i don't know very well. anime has such a broad scope, and it's possible to find gems of every genre. however, i do think that it's good to start with an anime that is short (i think maybe around 30 episodes or less), because that packs all of the story Right There. no filler eps to lose their interest. all story, all the time, and i think that's important when getting someone into anime. also, again, genre is important - pick something they're going to like. if i had started my friend on, say, fruits basket or mha, he never would have touched anime again in his life. also, i don't think anyone's first anime should be fullmetal alchemist: brotherhood. it's too good, and it'll set their expectations too high KSJDBV. i think it should be one OF the first ones they watch (maybe 3rd?), but if that's where someone starts and they love it, everything is kinda just always going to be downhill from there. wow that was a long answer for a simple question. anyway i stand by Terror in Resonance as a good first anime. No. 6 maybe also. Yuri on Ice as well..... Psycho Pass but only season 1 (forbid them from watching the rest of it, which may have the benefit of reverse psychology in getting them to watch it on their own !). It really depends!!!

Wheel of the year: Lammas
Tumblr media
Photo by freestocks on Unsplash
☽🔮☾🕯🃏🌕🕸✨🍃🍄🧿🌙✩ 🪄📚
Also known as "Lammas" or "August eve", Lughnasadh is the first of the three harvest festivals observed in wiccan tradition (and in witchcraft). Lughnasad, often celebrated between the 1st to the 3rd of August in the northern hemisphere (1st February in the southern one) celebrates the impending leave of summer and the return of colder seasons, shorter days and of course, autumn.
Lammas comes right after Litha and right before Mabon.While the name "Lammas" comes from the anglosaxon words for "loaf mass", we aren't exactly sure of how, when or why this tradition originated. Some people believe it started from anglosaxon tradition, other suspect that while the name is anglosaxon the origin is celtic, and yet others think this tradition may have originated in early christianity. Regardless the origin, we know that the earliest tradition of this day was to bake a loaf of bread with the recent harvest, and to take it to the church to be blessed (and to thank the universe for the lovely bounty bestowed upon you). Likewise, it is also known that this particular sabbat was incorporated into wiccan faith later and reluctantly, perhaps due to its christian ties.
Lammas marks the beginning of the harvest that started in midsummer, and the harvest of the first fruits of the year.As it is to be expected, this festival has deep ties to agriculture and farming, to prosperity and to wealth. Back in the day, it was considered that collecting the harvest before Lammas was bad luck, as it would mean the previous' years harvest had ran out before its time. This festivity is closely linked to christian imagery, christian deities and saints due to its suspected origins. It is particularly tied to Christ (who is said to have transfigurated during this time) and to St. Peter in chains, said to have been released from prison in this day. The festivity is also tied to the celtic Lugh (the horned man), whose mother is said to have cleaned the fields of Ireland for agriculture, and died of exhaustion right after. Any other deities tied to the harvest, abundance, prosperity, fields or the hearth might be honored during this sabbat. This sabbat honours any imagery related to field and harvests, abundance and prosperity. As expected, the cornucopia is very present in this festival, usually filled with the first fruits of the havest: wheat, corn, grapes, apples, etc. Feminine or masculine imagery is also relevant (corn dollies, effigies) and so are the Sun, the water (particularly rivers and springs) and the soil. There are numerous traditions linked to this festival: the most evident one is baking and blessing, be it bread or cakes. Banquets and feasting are also common in most countries. Decorating your house or altar might be an option if you are a solitary practitioner, and in some countries they decorate the town square and throw a big party: another crucial theme of this festivity is sharing !
What kind of traditions you can participate in depends heavily on your country and if you are out of the broom closet or not. If you are in Germany, you might have Oktoberfest to look forward to, and some areas of northern France also celebrate "August day". Even if you are a solitary practitioner or in the broom closet, here are some ways to partake the joy that you can use to  honour this day. -Feast: The climax of every sabbat ! Feasting is a staple in every festival and Lammas is particularly suited to it because of its ties to abundance and the harvest. Meals that are particularly fitting would be bread or wheat cakes, corn, beer, grapes, apples, berries and fresh herbs. -Decorate: Joining the decoration efforts at your local festival or fair is just as valid as making some humble decorations for your house. Ribbons, corn dolls, cornucopias, scythes and baskets are lovely options. -Bake: Baking anything with seasonal ingredients such as cereals, fresh herbs, fruits or berries is an excellent option. You could even make decorative break that is scoured with designs such as leaves, suns or flowers. -Share: One of the most important parts of Lammas is sharing. This festivity celebrates prosperity and abundance, and sharing shows not only that you care but also that you have enough for yourself and to pass around !
-Honour your deities: No deity hates being honoured and remembered. Prayers and offerings are two excellent ways to show your gratefulness for the abundance that surrounds you. -Pilgrimages: Several traditions associate this festival to pilgrimages. In christian tradition it was commos to make a pilgrimage to a bakery for your loaf of bread, and then to a church to bless it. In celtic tradition, there was a tradition to go to a well, turn around it clockwise, and leaving offerings like coins. With your friend or on your own, take a little "pilgrimage" to a bakery, curch or well. -Decorate your altar: Like with any other festival, seasonally decorating your altar is a fantastic option. Fruits, bread, and decorations in gold, yellow, red and orange are the best options. Colours associated with Lammas: White, red, orange, yellow, gold, brown Crystals associated with Lammas: Agate, moonstone, sunstone, jasper, Food associated with Lammas: Bread, cakes, cereals, beer, corn, herbs, spices, berries and seasonal fruits

tag game: "9 people you would like to get to know better"
I was tagged by @izaoli and I'm super honored! I'm such a lurker and reblogger that I didn't think anyone was paying attention to what I do... (/≧▽≦)/
(ㆆ_ㆆ) wait...
oh god people are paying attention to what I'm doing
Thanks for tagging! Anyway, here we go.
1. 3 ships:
my love for Tsukushi/Tsukasa has seen a revival recently
KaiHil is an always. Even when I want to step away from shipping them in everything, they always find a way.
Literati from Gilmore Girls continues to sail after all these years.
I can usually find a ship in anything I watch or read, and I can never seem to abandon them.
2. first ever ship:
Probably me with some cartoon I watched as a kid. But the first one I can remember and name is KaiHil or Kai/Hiromi (probably why it doesn't sink. it's like my black pearl)
3. last song;
I was scanning through songs on my way to work but the last song I picked was by Paramore I do believe. They work for any situation.
4. last movie;
Ohh movies are tough. I don't watch a lot of them, but I watch a lot of movie reactors on youtube, does that count? ... the last movie I went to see in theaters was Barbie. I gave it a 6/10. the ending was nice but there were other points I wish had been better.
5. currently reading;
It feels like a lot but nothing at the same time. I'm very slowly re-reading Sempre (Forever) by J.M Darhower (side blog for that here: @carmineshummingbird), and I'm trying to get into Peter Pan for the 3rd time
6. currently watching;
Fruits Basket, when I have the chance (I guess a lot of my old interest are having a revival?); And Masterchef season 13 with my mom.
7. currently consuming;
Iced coffee all day, every day (and sometimes a ginger ale). And water.
8. currently craving;
Sweets are my weakness. I like pastries, cakes, breads, gummies, chocolate. I do attempt moderation because I know I'm better without it, but yesterday someone gave me a loaf of homemade pumpkin and chocolate chip bread. So I'm currently feeling very satisfied.
9 I also only have two people I could tag (because I'm such a lurker)...
Recently I've followed @lillylintonsdickydumdums and @sojirosteacup .I think you're both really cool and would love to know more. No pressure if you're not interested!
Thank you so much @izaoli for including me. This was a lot of fun.

I made a list for webtoons, might as well make a list for manga/anime! I wasn't really allowed to watch too much cartoons TV growing up, so for the past few years, I've been "catching up" so to speak on the anime I missed out on aaand also watching newer ones lol Anyhoo, here's what I've seen/read so far (in alphabetical order):
Arte (Hulu) Manga continues
Black Butler (Hulu) ((full disclosure, I wasn't super paying attention when I watched this, so I have to watch it again lol))
Blue Exorcist (Hulu) ((I haven't finished it yet))
Cardcaptor Sakura/Clear Card Arc (Netflix) ((One of my faves as a kid, I had a board game for it, even! It has since been lost to time, though. T_T))
Cells at Work (Netflix) ((Also haven't finished yet lol))
Corpse Princess (Hulu) ((See Black Butler lol))
Dance with Devils (Hulu)
Demon Slayer (Hulu) ((haven't seen a lot yet, please don't come for me, I'm trying lol))
Devil is a Part-Timer! (Hulu)
Diabolik Lovers (Hulu)
Dragonball/DBZ/DBS (Funimation) ((I got Funimation just so I could watch Dragonball, then I figured I might as well get a refresher of DBZ since I hadn't seen it since it was on Toonami, all while my BF and I were watching DBS on Toonami/Adult Swim lol)
Fairy Tail/100 Years Quest (all the seasons were on Hulu, but they took all but 2 down, so I've been watching it on Funimation) I am SO excited to see 100YQ animated! It's been fun to read.
Food Wars! (Hulu)
Fruits Basket (both runs are on Hulu)
Fushigi Yuugi (Hulu) ((I actually don't know if I finished this...after a while I was just waiting for it to be over and it just. wasn't. ending.
Horimiya (Hulu)
Inuyasha/Final Act (Hulu/Netflix has the movies) ((another fave from my childhood))
Itazura na Kiss (Hulu) ((I'm not sure why people like this))
Jujustu Kaisen (Hulu) ((I think I started reading this after I finished watching it, but I've been super busy and forgot lol))
Kaguya-sama: Love is War (Hulu)
Kakuriyo: Bed and Breakfast for Spirits (Funimation)
Kamisama Kiss (Hulu) ((ugh...I love this and it's criminal that the anime didn't finish with the manga))
Kimi ni Todoke (Hulu)
Kono Oto Tomare!: Sounds of Life (Hulu)
Little Witch Academia (Netflix)
Magic-Kyu! Renaissance (Funimation)
Mahoutsukai no Yome [The Ancient Magus' Bride] (Funimation) ((I love this, too, but I had to take a break from the manga because I was getting irritated with the FL and the choices she was making lmao I've been meaning to pick it back up, though, it really is very good!))
Maid Sama! (Hulu)
My Love Story! (Hulu)
Noragami (Hulu) ((made me cry in a way that my BF asked me what was wrong lol))
Ouran High School Host Club (Hulu) ((I'm sorry, I don't get the love for this, but I also haven't been able to read it yet, so maybe I will once I do))
Pokemon [Kanto-beginning of Hoenn] (Hulu) ((I have not kept up with it over the years and the only reason why I know of any of the newer Pokemon is because of PokemonGo and the new Pokemon Snap--which has been really fun so far--lol))
Ranma 1/2 (Hulu)
Rurouni Kenshin (HBO Max) ((I liked this, but I thought the story was super choppy))
Sacrificial Princess and the King of Beasts (manga only for now, but I think I just saw that an anime is coming soon!!) ((this is so beautifully drawn and sooo well written! It made me audibly react sometimes)
Sailor Moon [OG] (Hulu) ((My absolute favorite when I was a kid! My mom even watched it with me lol I wanted to be Sailor Mars sooooo bad I always kept my hair long just like her! I've got her as a keychain right now lol))
Say "I Love You" (Hulu)
School Rumble: 1st-3rd Semesters (Hulu) ((I didn't even watch the last episode. Literally nothing happened and I just felt bad for the guy. I couldn't watch it anymore lol)
Snow White with the Red Hair (Hulu) ((I hope it gets more seasons, but I also hope it gets better animation. I know people worked hard on it, but it does not do the manga justice. It's so beautifully drawn and written, this is for sure one of my favorites!))
Spice ad Wolf (Hulu)
Spy x Family (Hulu) ((It was popping up so much on my tumblr around ep 4 that I had to know what people were talking about and I'm so glad I did!))
Vampire Knight (Hulu) ((Didn't/Couldn't finish it))
Wandering Witch: The Journey of Elaina (Hulu)
Yashahime (Hulu) ((It's not what I was expecting/hoping for, but I've had fun watching it))
Yona of the Dawn (Hulu) ((this NEEDS more seasons, the manga gets SO INTENSE))
You're Lie in April (HBO Max is where I watched it, but I think it's on Hulu, too) ((ugly cried))
Yu Yu Hakusho (Hulu) ((I only saw a few episodes as a kid, but I remember really loving the art style and the voices. It's still one of my faves))
Yu-Gi-Oh! (Hulu) ((I watched this every time it came on Toonami, I had a whole deck that I lost--which I'm still sad about--but I have a new deck and sometimes my BF and I play each other lol))
I've got an excel spreadsheet with these and others that I want to watch, but haven't yet, totaling 126 lmao As of right now (1/2023) I have no desire to watch Attack on Titan, One Piece, or Naruto (again, please don't come for me and PLEASE don't try to convince me), but I welcome any other recommendations and/or discussions/chats about any I listed!

Do you have any OCs? feel free to talk about them if you do
What was the first piece of media you engaged with on the internet? Are you still interested in it?
What's something you made or did that you're proud of?
What's something that made you smile this month?
No I don't have any OCs I like my characters prebuilt!
The first internet fandom I was in was for Fruits Basket (manga)! It still holds a lot of room in my heart especially the characters but I don't really interact with it. It got a new anime adaptation in 2019 and I watched the first two seasons and interacted with the fandom but they had left out what to me were key moments in the 3rd season and left in some things that were a bit outdated. I also just don't really like the anime format, it feels like I'm watching something in slow motion? Idk how else to describe it but we could do this at 2x speed and it would feel better. I would like to reread the manga at some point, I'm pretty sure it is something that would still hold up. It's themes and messages feel like they raised me tbh
I was telling my cowriter this recently but the fanfic we wrote The Long Way Home! We had a fair amount of people tell us the story resonated with them and meant a lot and honestly reading those comments had me near tears, I'm glad I could be a part of making something positive/meaningful
My other would be my animal behavior course I taught, I had some students say it was their favorite class in college or thank me for the format. I love getting people excited about learning!
Only yesterday I adopted a puppy with my partner, she is actually asleep on my lap right now, her name is Daisy and I was near tears of happiness driving home with her, lots of smiles just in the last two days

Baki is a manga adaptation anime series created by TMS Entertainment and published on Netflix. We are also known for the popular anime studio they have released in recent years, such as Fruits Basket and Dr. Stone. The 4th season of the beloved anime series, Baki, released with 3rd season in the past months, started to be expected by the fans. Baki, which impresses the audience with its impressive fighting scenes and remarkable characters, has become one of Netflix‘s most popular anime series. As its fans know, Anime deals with the story of Baki, the second-best martial arts expert in the world after his father, Yujiro. Season 3 was broadcast in June 2020, but the audience watched with English dubbing a month later. When season 4 is released, it will be in its native language, and the audience will wait a bit when they want to watch it in English.1 What is the plotline of the anime?2 Will there be a fourth season of Baki?2.1 When is the release date of Baki Hanma?3 What is the plotline of Season 4?What is the plotline of the anime?The main hero, Baki Hanma, works hard to outrun her father, Yujiro Hanma, the most powerful warrior in the world. Five violent and ruthless prisoners (above) known for Baki gather together to face Baki; Their unique powers and abilities are not enough to color their lives. They start looking for him in hopes of defeating Baki. Other underground martial arts masters also gather to fight alongside Baki against this quintet: Kaoru Hanayama, Gouki Shibukawa, Retsu Kaioh, and Doppo Orochi. An epic show of fighting begins between the deadliest prisoners and those who support Baki!Will there be a fourth season of Baki?According to the official announcement, the series renewed for a fourth season. Even a trailer has been released. The new season will consist of 26 episodes in total and will be released in two tracks. We will see 13 episodes and 13 more episodes again. The title of the anime is titled “Hanma Baki – Son of Ogre“. The new anime season will be adapted from the popular side manga of the series Baki Hanma.When is the release date of Baki Hanma?According to the statement made on September 1, 2021, all episodes of the anime will meet with the audience on the Netflix platform. The 12-episode anime season, which will cover the third manga in the series, will be released globally on Netflix on September 30, 2021.What is the plotline of Season 4?The fans are still waiting for the fight between Yujiro vs. Baki. Although there is a possibility to see this fight in the 4th season, the series may not show this fight in season 4 because the new season will be about “Pickle,” who is a new character from the Jurassic era. An unusual name, pickle, is preserved in a salty rock. This character, who lived in the age of dinosaurs, must be very strong to survive in such a period.Meanwhile, fans are wondering about the story of the five death row inmates who escaped from jail. Season 4 will be the answer to all. However, we will be able to see Baki vs. Yujiro fight most probably in season 5.
