AI exists and there's nothing any of us can do to change that.

If you have concerns about how AI is being/will be used the solution is not to abstain - it's to get involved.

Learn about it, practice utilising AI tools, understand it. Ignorance will not protect you, and putting your fingers in your ears going 'lalalala AI doesn't exist I don't acknowledge it' won't stop it from affecting your life.

The more the general population fears and misunderstands this technology, the less equipped they will be to resist its influence.

An interesting point/prediction that I heard in an episode of the podcast, This Machine Kills, regarding movie studios wanting to use AI, is that they are aware that movies and television that are produced using AI aren't going to be up to the quality of that produced by humans alone. But if they can cheaply manufacture a bunch of AI produced content, they can distribute that at the current price, and sell the human produced content as a premium product at a premium price.

i hate people's acceptance of AI when it's "cool" and "convenient." stop giving it materials to weaponize in the future, i don't care what it's for. AI could take away future and current jobs for so many people, and you are helping it.
