In the Japanese version, I have the impression that he is a "narcissistic young man".Is he that young in the original version?

Also, Tracks is one of my favorite characters in G1 and I'm not trying to hate on him at all.

The impression I get of TFP's Breakdown is also quite different between the original language and the Japanese. I enjoy those differences as well!

Idea for Earthspark

Cybertronian medic Raoul who was trained by Ratchet, with a cyber sleeve like Robby and Mo. Except his sleeve is only linked to Tracks and it appeared when Tracks showed his spark to Raoul.

You had honestly thought Raoul was joking at first, another jest where you are the butt of the joke, but his face was anything but kidding. Inquisitive, expectant, but not mischievous. It was clearly going to be a bad idea, something that would haunt you for years, but you couldn't pass up the offer. You won't ever say it to his face, but your friend is always so... Stupidly cool. Effortlessly so. Raoul's biceps gleam with a layer of sweat, grease caking his fingertips from where he had fiddled with your cars internals. Fingers that must fiddle with Tracks' internals all the time. You feel stupidly desperate when you respond way too quickly.

Tracing up the segmented shaft with soft licks, Raoul meets you with his mouth when you finally reach the tip. Your best friend, your closest confidante, is kissing you with entirely too much passion to be accidental. This is a mistake, you think, but return the kiss with as much fervor. Your chest feels tight and your stomach flutters when your fingers wind through his hair. You yank him closer, his own hands landing, skittering, on your waist and back. He moves to follow when you pull away, but there's still a very attractive mech burning hot beneath and between you.

Tracks has a smile stretched wide across his flawless faceplates, soft and warm and entirely vulnerable compared to his usual posh demeanor. You only know Raoul's mech friend from his unreal alt-mode and snobby attitude, but he's been your savior more than once. Given you a late-night ride home more than once. And he's so damn pretty. How did Raoul of all guys manage to snag a boyfriend so pretty? It's not fair. You paw at his pressurized spike, pink fluid dribbling harmlessly over your hand. He looks entirely too natural like this, proud to be the center of attention. Perfect metal shining in the lowlights of his habsuite like a cellophane angel. And for once he truly looks tender at spark, noble; a gentle expression that fits the well-intentioned mech you know.

You follow Raoul's lead when he gives Tracks all his attention, watching with a keen eye as your friend kisses down the shining metal of the Autobot's chassis. It's overwhelming to finally get what you so desperately want, to be able to touch not only Raoul but also Tracks. To finally have their hands on you, but also get your hands on them in a way that's more than friendly. Your hands slide up Tracks' thighs, fingertips spreading across smooth armor. The sensual sigh, slightest flicker of his thighs moving apart. He could ignite devotion in the coldest of hearts; no wonder they get on so well.

Raoul taps your forehead with a quiet " 'ey ", laughing at your dazed, distracted expression, before shaking a bottle of lubricant in hand.

"You want first ride?" He cocks an eyebrow in your direction, obnoxiously casual. Your heart twists painfully in your chest, affection filling your stomach and all your veins. You still nod hurriedly, afraid of looking so immensely uncool in front of them, but even more afraid of missing out.

I saw that post somewhere how the bots' altmodes should be used more and have more importance than they have in canon, not just as transport, because their altmodes ARE them and they're a society of shapeshifters. One of the lines was about wishing for characters who use their altmode more than their robot mode.

Canon actually has that last one, at least theoretically in the Universe profiles — Tracks' bio says he would prefer to live in his car mode, and Seaspray is also said to prefer being a hoverboat on the water to being a bot on land.

Ooo and I've thought of this idea a lot for (and seen it for) various beastformers, because we do see beastformers often slant more towards preferring their altmode than root mode (like when I see Grimlock chances are it's more likely he's in his dino mode than his root mode), but this probably very much isn't about them.

Cool that Tracks and Seaspray are quoted as examples of mecha preferring their altmode!

          " officer (l/n) ,, this is your new partner ." was what you heard from the chief ,, setting down your drink and looking up to meet the large mech in front of you . he was one of those cybertronians from space ,, here on earth for some reason . you didnt keep up with the news as of late ,, busy mourning your previous partner who had died in a recent crossfire between a gang that you two had been tracking for some weeks now . " hello ,, it's nice to meet you ,," you nodded to the brightly colored mech . " it's tracks ,, and it's nice to meet you as well officer ." he replied . his voice was different from what you've heard before in your life .

          silky and velvety ,, as though it would be from the most expensive of cloth around the world . it was that of one you would hear from those rich british men who came overseas and always had something to complaim about . yet ,, he didnt seem the type to do that .

          " well tracks ,, hope youre good with long term cases ." you snicker to yourself before taking a quick sip of your drink and opening the case file to the previously mentioned gang . " my previous partner and i had gotten somewhat close to arresting these punks ,, but things happened and they ended up escaping ." tracks got down to one knee ,, his arm resting over his leg as he peered over your shoulder . you saw the chief leave the room out of the corner of your eye ,, and resumed your focus to the file .

          " what gang is this ?" tracks asked ,, scanning over the words in the file . your hand came to your chin ,, explaining what you knew so far of the crooks . " they deal with human trafficking ,, kidnapping women who stray a little too far from the street lights to sell and trade on the black market . they've also been known to be the result of a few mass murders down town in some clubs ." you take another quick sip from your drink ,, flipping the pages . " last we saw them was in an alley of a bar ,, leaving in a limousine . so i'm guessing they've either got a hella lot of money ,, or they're good business partners with those who do ."

          tracks nodded ,, taking in the information better than you'd assume he would . maybe you were expecting a few disgusted looks or a gag ,, yet received nothing of the sort . " do you know their usual routine yet ?" he asked ,, helm turning your way . " kind of ,, though i'm not sure it really can count as a routine . the most active they are is on wednesday nights ,, usually in allies of bars or clubs . the closest i had gotten to getting a lead on them was two weeks ago ."

          " what happened ? im assuming you didnt figure out where they went ,," he tilted his helm to the side . " some others were behind me an' my partner ,, they shot at us a bit . one of their bullets grazed my partner ,, and ever since i havent been able to work on the case ." you casted your eyes to the side ,, remembering the night . adrenaline had pumped vigorously through your veins ,, trying your damnest to steer clear of the bullets flying past the vehicle . you did manage to steer clear of them ,, though at the cost of your partner getting severely injured . the images of it flooded your mind ,, squinting your eyes close and taking another sip of your drink .

           " sorry for your loss ." tracks murmured lowly ,, unsure of what to do . you only shook your head ,, brushing it off . " doesnt matter ,, just be sure youre ready later tonight for a bit of patrolling ." you waved your hand at him ,, leaving the case file with the mech so he can review it as much as needed .
