My phone case is literally falling apart rn and so I wanna get a decent but cheap case to replace it. but frankly this phone is also getting a little tired

(thankfully runs fine but screen is cracked a bit in 2 places and one crack has a black spot. it responds to touch there and isnt frankly intrusive otherwise. Thanks Curved Screen Edges >:/ but also little worried abt battery health but also When Am I Not. Phone casing is separated in a way that is no longer waterproof [but also thats not really a concern 4 me I try rlly hard either way to not drop my shit in water???] But also this thing has been slammed on concrete and skidded across bc i ate shit on my campus pavillion so i cant say definitely the battery is suspicious. Samsung Galaxy Note 10 Plus and 5GHz Wi-Fi

Today I learned: the Samsung Galaxy Note 10 Plus does very poorly with 5GHz Wi-FI.

I switched Internet Service Providers today, and moved everybody from the old modem-and-router-combo Wi-Fi network to the new router. Every single device - laptops, phones, Chromecast, Sesame smart lock Wi-Fi module - works just fine with the new Wi-Fi network, except for one single Galaxy Note 10 Plus: it complains that the Wi-Fi is not connected to the Internet.

Restarting the router helped... for a while, until it suddenly started complaining of no Internet connectivity beyond the local network.

When Band Steering is on on the router, Wi-Fi clients can connect to either 2.4GHz or 5GHz (using the same SSID); turns out there's probably an endemic problem with this particular device (that I don't understand - if a client can't connect to 5GHz, like Chromecasts, it just... doesn't, rather than complain of networking issues).

Turning off Band Steering (which makes the router announce two separate SSIDs, one for 2.4GHz and one for 5GHz) - helped the Note 10 Plus stay connected.

(The thing is, the modem-and-router-combo that I'm about to send back to the provider is also forcefully limited to 2.4GHz. I have a feeling I forgot, and am re-learning this.)

The Reesal Collective is an interesting situation, because rather than being one species that gained a lot of power as most of the highest tier of galactic power are, they're instead four previously-expansionist species, three of which found themselves eaten by their neighboring empire. The imperial monarchy has long since been demolished, but the majority of the planets held by it chose to remain united as a timocratic, semi-presidential republic.

The Reesal Collective is also the closest of the top tier galactic powers to Earth, though not close enough to be worth looking into for them. The next closest is the Osmosian Empire, separate from us by a few vast expanses of space and the whole of the Incursean Empire. In fact, being closer than either of the other two, the Incursean Empire is the greatest power amongst Earth's 'neighbors'. Most of the rest of the surrounding powers are either on level with Earth itself (aka 'we can barely protect ourselves') or up to the 'we can defend our whole system' tier.

Kinet and Hasiel are also technically within Earth's 'neighborhood', which plays a part in why there are so many of them settled on the planet.

Bang Chan lives for every milestone—he’s been tracking every coo, roll, and crawl in a special baby journal since day one.

He’s on baby duty while you’re in the kitchen. The TV is playing soft nursery rhymes in the background, and Chan is sitting cross-legged on the playmat, watching your daughter, Juliana, pull herself up using the couch.

“Look at you, strong little thing,” he smiles, holding his hands out encouragingly.

Then it happens. Your baby lets go and takes one… two… three wobbly steps toward him.

His eyes go wide. He freezes, then launches into excited chaos.

“Babe!! BABE COME HERE QUICK!!” he shouts, nearly tripping over a toy to get your attention.

You come rushing in, thinking something’s wrong—only to see your baby walking.

Tears well up in Chan’s eyes as he whispers,

“She—she's walking… you’re walking, baby!”

He doesn’t even bother grabbing his phone for a video—he’s too focused on holding out his arms, cheering your baby on like a proud, emotional golden retriever dad.

Once your baby reaches you, Chan immediately pulls you both into the biggest hug.

He kisses both your cheeks and Juliana’s tiny head, whispering how proud he is over and over.

Later that night, he writes the moment in his journal, complete with a doodle of the baby walking and a sticky note that reads:

“First steps. I’ll never forget today.”

Minho swore he wouldn’t cry over baby milestones—but he was absolutely lying to himself.

It’s a lazy Sunday afternoon. You and Minho are cuddled up on the couch under a cozy blanket, coffee cups half-full, watching your 10-month-old son Mingi on the playmat.

Mingi is happily crawling around, absolutely fascinated with the cats. Especially Dori, who’s lying just out of reach, tail twitching.

Minho has his arm draped over your shoulders, a soft smile on his face as he watches your son and cats bond.

“They’re gonna be partners in crime,” he murmurs.

Then it happens.

A tiny, wobbly little voice breaks the peaceful silence:

“...Do…ri…”

You blink. He blinks. You both freeze.

“Did you…?” “Wait, did he just—?”

You both turn your heads slowly toward Mingi, who is now patting Dori gently and giggling like he just did the most amazing thing.

Lee Know sits straight up like he just heard a fire alarm.

“JAGIYA. THAT WAS HIS FIRST WORD.”

He practically throws the blanket off and rushes to the floor, crouching next to Mingi.

“Say it again, baby—Dori? Can you say Dori again?”

Mingi just giggles and reaches for the cat’s tail (which Minho gently redirects before Dori decides to leave).

You’re sitting there with your hand over your mouth, emotional, while Minho keeps whispering to himself: “His first word was one of the cats. I KNEW it. I KNEW IT.”

He scoops Mingi up and comes back to the couch, eyes shining.

“I thought it’d be Appa or Eomma. But no. Dori. The little traitor,” he says dramatically—while smiling so big his cheeks hurt.

That night, he calls his mom just to tell her the story. And yes, he brags to the other cats too.

“Your brother just said your name first. You better treat him like royalty.”

Seo Changbin 🐷🐇

Changbin always felt a little sting of regret for missing your son, Juwon’s first word. He was on tour when it happened, and although you FaceTimed him and he teared up live on camera, it wasn’t the same.

He really hoped he wouldn’t miss any big milestones again—and especially not for his daughter, Seowoon.

One afternoon, Changbin is in full “Dad Mode” — surrounded by IKEA instruction booklets, random screws, and planks that definitely weren’t labeled properly.

You’re on the couch, feeding Seowoon her snack and watching with quiet amusement as your husband mutters under his breath: “Why are there three leftover screws? What do they even go to?”

4-year-old Juwon is nearby, offering his toy hammer and occasionally asking things like, “Appa, are you building a rocket ship?”

Changbin grins at him. “Close. A dresser. For your sister. Same thing, right?”

Then, just as he’s hunched over the half-built furniture, he hears the tiniest, most delicate voice from behind: “...Dada.”

He freezes. You freeze. Juwon blinks. “Did Seowoon just say…?”

Changbin turns around so fast he almost knocks over the dresser.

“No. No way. Did you—Did she really—?”

You nod slowly, wide-eyed, as Seowoon looks up from her snack cup, grinning proudly and clapping her hands, “Dada!”

The screw in Changbin’s hand drops to the floor. His jaw does too.

He scrambles over, ignoring the mess, kneels in front of her, and gently cups her face, “Princess... you said my name. You said Dada...”

His voice cracks with emotion. He presses his forehead to hers, tears threatening to spill because he was here—no blurry video call, no missed moment

“I missed your brother’s first word,” he whispers, holding her close, “But not yours. Not yours.”

Juwon comes over and hugs his dad’s leg, "Appa, hug me too."

Changbin chuckles, pulling him in for a group hug.

You smile from the couch, your heart full, watching the love of your life hold both your kids like he’s never letting go.

Hwang Hyunjin 🥟

Ever since your son, Rowoon, turned six months, Hyunjin has been counting down the days to his first bite of solid food like it’s a Michelin-star event.

The night before, he’s prepping like he’s hosting a gala:

“Do we go with mashed carrots? Or should we puree sweet potatoes? This is his first taste of real flavor—he deserves elegance.”

You’re fully on board. You even go out and buy a tiny baby apron that says “Food Critic in Training.”

Morning arrives, and Hyunjin is wearing a silk robe over a plain tee like some artistic genius preparing a masterpiece.

The kitchen looks like a cooking show set—cute bowls, baby-sized spoons, a highchair with a cushion shaped like a cloud.

He even cues soft classical music in the background. “He needs ambiance.”

You hold your phone, recording everything like you’re making a mini documentary.

“Day one of Rowoon vs Food. Daddy’s the chef. Mommy’s the camerawoman. Stakes are high.”

You both carefully strap Rowoon into his highchair, Hyunjin whispering,

“Are you ready, my little prince? Daddy made this with love.”

He scoops the tiniest bit of mashed sweet potato and gently brings the spoon to son’s lips.

You zoom in dramatically as Rowoon’s mouth opens...and closes... and he makes a face like he just ate betrayal.

“Oh my god, he hates it—” you gasp.

Hyunjin freezes mid-spoon like he’s in a drama scene, “No... this can’t be. I pureed it by hand!”

But then—Rowoon opens his mouth again. Like he’s willing to give it one more chance.

The second bite? Less dramatic. More nom nom. He actually likes it.

Hyunjin's entire face lights up, “HE LIKES IT!!” he shouts.

You burst out laughing, zooming in on Rowoon’s messy, sweet-potato-covered face.

“We’ve got a foodie, folks.”

Hyunjin kisses Rowoon’s cheek despite the mush, whispering, “First food down. Next stop—Korean BBQ.”

Han Jisung 🐿

By the time your son, Jihoon, was born, Jisung was already a seasoned pro at diapers, burping, and twin negotiations.

But when it came to milestones, it still felt brand new.

Unlike his older siblings — Jisoo and Minsoo, who crawled like a champ very early on— Jihoon was the chillest baby ever. Always smiling, always content to just lie in the middle of chaos like a little prince.

Every night Jisung googles things like “how to encourage baby to crawl faster?” or “is my baby behind or just chill?”

He’s been doing "tummy time training" every day, cheering his baby on with way too much excitement: “C’mon, baby nugget! You got this! Crawl like your life depends on it!”

You both set up a full obstacle course one afternoon — pillows, soft toys, and finally, his secret weapon: a snack pouch.

Jisoo and Minsoo were already beside him, holding up toys and clapping like tiny hype squad members.

“Babyyyyy,” he calls, wiggling the pouch like it’s treasure, “You want this? Come get it, I believe in you!”

“Crawl! Crawl! Crawl!” Minsoo chanted.

You’re lying next to the baby with your phone ready, already wheezing at how serious Jisung is.

“You’re acting like this is the Olympics.”

“IT IS!” he whines.

The baby wobbles on all fours for the first time ever and both of you and your twins instantly lose it.

“WAIT. BABE. RECORD THIS. THIS IS IT.”

"Daddy, I'm so excited," Jisoo giggled.

You’re already filming, whispering excitedly: “He’s gonna do it. Hannie, he’s actually gonna—”

And then it happens.

One little hand. One little knee. Then the tiniest, cutest shuffle forward.

Jisung and the twins SCREAMS.

“OH MY GOD!!! HE’S CRAWLING! HE’S CRAWLING! BABY YOU’RE CRAWLING!”

The baby makes it two full scoots before flopping onto the floor with a satisfied gurgle. Jisung rushes over like he just watched his child win a Nobel Prize.

Jisoo clapped. Minsoo cheered. The whole house erupted with joy.

Lee Felix 🐥

Felix is obsessed with every tiny moment in your daughter, Yuna’s life. He’s always recording videos, taking pictures, and creating little memory books.

Every time Yuna babbles, he swears it’s the cutest thing he’s ever heard.

“Did you hear that? I’m pretty sure she said ‘Dada’ right there. Dada, right?” He’s already planning to tell her that “her first word was the best one.”

But today, your daughter is extra chatty, her eyes sparkling as she sits in Felix’s lap, reaching for a toy.

“C’mon, sweetie. Say ‘Dada’ for Daddy,” he coos, gently bouncing her in his lap.

You’re sitting across the room, watching, already knowing what’s about to happen. You’ve seen the signs.

Felix has been casually teasing her, trying to coax out a “Dada,” but you’re secretly thinking: “It’s going to be ‘Mama,’ isn’t it? It’s totally going to be ‘Mama.’”

Felix sees it, but he’s trying to hold onto the hope that his daughter will say his name first.

You’re laughing as Felix dramatically leans in, “I’m ready. Just say it... Dada.”

But then, the most magical thing happens. Yuna, with all her baby energy, looks at him with wide, glistening eyes and giggles.

“Yuna... Dada?”

She pauses, grabs Felix’s finger, and then...

“Mama.”

“WHAT? NOOO.” Felix gasps like his heart just skipped a beat.

You freeze. And then, you both burst out laughing. Felix's face is shocked, then it softens, his voice crackling with emotion.

“I knew it. I just knew you’d say Mama first.”

You’re trying to keep your composure but your heart’s melting from how sweet and soft Felix is in this moment.

“She’s so perfect,” you whisper.

Felix holds Yuna close, kissing the top of her head.

“I guess I’ll just have to work harder to get that ‘Dada,’ huh?”

And as you record everything, Felix, while holding your daughter, leans into you with a dramatic sigh: “I guess I’ll let you have this one... for now.”

The whole moment feels like pure sunshine, with Felix genuinely thrilled by her first word, even if it wasn’t the one he was hoping for.

Kim Seungmin 🐶

Seungmin is already incredibly emotional about everything with your son, Taesan. From the moment he held him, he’s been trying to document every single milestone (if he was not travelling for work) but somehow, this one felt extra special.

The day Taesan decides to take his first step, Seungmin was home fortunately. He was playing with him on the floor, smiling at his little boy who’s holding onto the couch for support.

Seungmin kept saying, “Come on, buddy. You got this. Just one little step.”

But honestly, he’s half-giggling and half-nervous because he's worried your son might fall right into his arms. (And honestly? Seungmin is lowkey terrified of the baby walking because this is a whole new level of chaos)

Taesan grabs onto the couch and teeters, swaying back and forth like a tiny wobbly penguin. Seungmin’s voice is full of anticipation.

“Are you gonna do it? Are you gonna walk?”

“C’mon, Taesan. Take the step, please. For Daddy.” He’s holding his breath.

Then... it happens.

With the tiniest wobbly leg movement, Taesan takes his first unsteady step, stumbling forward toward Seungmin, who gasps and almost falls over in excitement. He catches him right before he topples over.

“OH MY GOD! YOU DID IT!!” Seungmin’s voice cracks in pure joy.

Your son giggles, proud of himself, and Seungmin instantly scoops him up, lifting him in the air, doing an accidental spin because his emotions are a mess.

You’re standing nearby, watching all of this unfold, and Seungmin’s eyes meet yours, filled with overwhelming adoration.

“He just did it... He really did it.” He sounds like he’s in shock, but his heart is melting.

He’s bouncing Taesan in his arms, whispering to him in the sweetest voice, “You’re so grown up now, buddy. Daddy's so proud of you.”

You step forward, and he hands Taesan to you. He tries to hide the tears forming in his eyes, with a playful smile, but you know him too well.

“This is it. He’s gonna be running around soon, and I won’t be able to stop him.”

You laugh, already imagining all the new adventures your son will take. Seungmin rests his head on your shoulder and whispers, “I can’t believe how fast it’s all going. I’m just so proud of him.”

You and Seungmin share a quiet, emotional moment as you both marvel at your beautiful baby boy.

Yang Jeongin 🦊

From the moment your son, Sungheon, was born, he was obsessed with you. Sungheon’s eyes would always follow you around the room, and whenever you held him, he’d snuggle into your chest like he knew you were his safe place.

Jeongin couldn’t get enough of the way his son was so attached to you, always calling you “Mommy” with his baby babbles that made both of you melt.

“He’s already my biggest competition,” Jeongin would joke, pretending to be jealous of the connection you shared.

One evening, as you’re cuddling on the couch, the baby, now a little older, is lying on your chest, his head resting over your heart.

You’re gently stroking his hair, whispering softly, and Jeongin is sitting nearby, watching the two of you, already in love with the moment.

Out of nowhere, your son lifts his little head, looks at you with the biggest, most innocent eyes, and leans in toward your cheek.

He plants the softest, tiniest kiss on your face, almost like he’s been practicing.

“Oh my god.” Jeongin’s voice cracks as he watches, his heart doing flips.

He can’t help but laugh, both from surprise and joy.

“Did he just...?”

Your heart explodes at the tiny kiss. You freeze for a second, not expecting it, and then look at Jeongin.

“I can’t believe he just kissed me!” you say in awe.

Jeongin looks like he’s about to explode with pride, but he’s also so proud of how sweet and loving your son is already. He hypes it up.

“Oh no, it’s happening. He’s already obsessed with you, and now he’s kissing you! What do I even do?” His voice is full of exaggerated jealousy, but there’s nothing but love in his eyes.

You hold your baby closer, and Jeongin immediately whips out his phone to FaceTime his mom.

“Mom, Mom, guess what! Guess who just kissed Mommy for the first time! Look at him!” Jeongin’s excitement is contagious as he shows your son’s adorable face on the screen.

The baby, now snuggling back into your chest, yawns, and then gives you another tiny kiss on your cheek, this time even more adorable than before.

“Mommy,” he says softly, his voice still tiny, but clear.

“That’s it. You're his favorite now. There’s no going back,” Jeongin teases, making a dramatic face.

He kisses your forehead, then leans in to kiss Sungheon's head, full of soft affection.

“But, I’m still your favorite, right?” He asks you with a cheeky grin.

You smile up at Jeongin, holding Sungheon close.

“Of course, Daddy. But just so you know, I think we both know who’s going to steal all the kisses from now on.”

Jeongin dramatically pouts for a second before playfully laughing. “Okay, fine. But you know I’m still the best when it comes to kisses, right?”

You kiss his cheek, teasing back. “We’ll see, Daddy. We’ll see.”

The Journey of Clone Force 99 (and Friends)

a fun little research project i've been working on -- mapping out the locations visited by [members of] Clone Force 99, as seen on-screen in their Clone Wars Season 7 arc and The Bad Batch show itself. i really wanted to see where these locations were in relation to each other in the big, wide, Star Wars galaxy.

Note #1: Any planet names on the map that I had to add/type in myself are locations that I had to approximate, based on their Wookiepedia entries. They're not 100% accurate but I feel they're pretty darn close!

Note #2: This is NOT the complete map of all locations visited -- there were about 10 places that had planet or moon names in Wookiepedia, but no information on their location within the galaxy, not even a sector name.

used the links here to access the sector maps for the Outer and Mid Rims. it's an older but legitimate Star Wars source, from a book published in 2009, but I believe it has remained accurate and carried over into the Disney Canon. I used this a lot for the locations that weren't on the primary map -- Wookiepedia gave me the planet's sector name, and I was able to find the sector using these maps.

this map is fan-made and can be zoomed into very closely to see a lot more locations. There are also faint outlines for the sectors. I don't think this map itself is 100% accurate either, but it was still very helpful in confirming some locations I was approximating.

Fun things I noticed:

with it's "cameo" / intro appearance at the very end of Season 1, Wayland/Tantiss is the only location that we see in all three TBB seasons.

(unless there was a Coruscant scene i'm forgetting from S1??? that would be the other most likely candidate. but I think we only visit Coruscant in S2 and S3.)

(Ord Mantell came kinda close, with an indirect reference in S3, re: the imperials finding and questioning Cid.)

You know, one entirely terrifying thing about Jod that I don't see anyone talk about is the soup marrow scene, where he, (anyone in the books) for the first time, uses non-necromantic magic - time magic.

I think it's one of the most terrifying things that anyone ever does in the books. No other character had even seemed to ever be aware that any other type of magic could ever exist than necromancy and its 3 subcategories, but Jod muses a lot about time and how he should have mastered that instead of death, which implies he had a choice in this. He even tells Harrow (I think in the biscuit scene).

But there, he could use it. He froze everyone, and Harrow even notes it had a very unusual taste in her mouth, something she never experienced before, something that seemed different from all necromancy she had known of so far. Hell, he even casually shows Harrow a ton of people he had in Stasis for 10 thousand years that he was gonna send to rejuvenate the dying 9th.

Jod can use a type of magic nobody in the galaxy even knows has the potential to exist.

Humans Are Weirds/SpaceOrcs: A Beginner's Guide.

After the official welcoming of the Humans species in our galaxies it has been an emergency to make a beginner's guide as to how to handle the humans on your ship, make sure that if any member of your crew didn't read the Intergalactic Manuals About Human that they read those quick tips as to ensure a good collaboration with your human crewmate.

1. Humans Are Vastly Different, each of them can be completely different from another with their own potential quirk in character and/or behavior. Do NOT expect them to behave the same.

2. Humans Are Weirds, there has been multiple attempt to classify humans into different kind and groups with a very mitigated success. Humans have very different way of living or behave than us and their curiosity (for most of them) know no bound, as such dont be flustered if they ask something unusual and try to satisfy their curiosity as much as possible. Humans (especially of the curious or "scientist" group) can go to extreme lenght to satisfy said curiosity, often leading to nefast consequence for the crew.

3. Know Your Human ! As soon as you meet them try to know in which group they belong, this will ensure way less trouble as the Intergalactic Manuals About Humans can help you react to them accordingly, it also might help you bond with your human as they often appreciate the gesture.

4. Never Provoke Humans, this seem like a basis but most human anger can be triggered by various things some that might seem innocent. Triggering a Human anger will often lead to their body releasing their Deathworlder drugs and can result in bloody outcome. If a Human seem angry or about to enter rage, try your best to calm said human by refering to the Intergalactic Manuals About Humans.

5. Don't Let Your Human Near Everything, Humans are highly intelligent creature but lack a sens of self preservation, as such they will try (and sometime succeed) to bond with anything even highly dangerous creature, it is often more safe to try to not let Humans near such species and/or to discourage such behavior. In the same note explain to your Human why you dont want them to do something, describe the consequence it will often discourage them.

6. Human Social Skills, as a highly intelligent and social specie Humans are some of the best negociator that you can find, as such utilisant your human in a encounter with another ship as diplomat can yield very successfull result, but be careful, as always Humans Are vastly different and some are not suited for diplomacy.

7. Human Instinct, humans are a species that rise themself as the Apex Predator of their ecosystem, they have what they called a "sixth sens" that often tell them things almost impossible to know about a situation, they will for exemple instinctly know if the group is about to ambushed or if something is wrong. Do NOT dismiss such Intel, if your Humans tell you something is wrong, even if they dont have factual evidence they will (in most case) always be right.

8. Humans Combat Ability, in situation of danger do not hesitate to give your Humans a weapon, yes even if they are civils untrained. They will often be an invaluable asset in fights especially due to their Deathworlder abilities.

9. Take Care Of Your Humans, even if they seem like it, they are not invincible, humans do dies, just more slowly than you expect and they might not tell you about it. Humans will go to incredible lenght to save a crew they bonded with, just make sure that they do not lie to you about their ability to survive such a task.

10. Irrationnal Behavior, lastly Humans are sometime very irrationnal as shown with Staby (a cleaning drone that they often stick sharpened weapon on it as a "joke"). As long as such behavior do not put your crew life or cargo at risk, do NOT try to stop it, this behavior is often shown when your humans need distraction and is very good for their mental health.

ICE BRAVE 2025: Program Set List (Spoilers Alert + LONG POST)

Shoma Uno was blessed with many different programs during his competitive years, and ICE BRAVE 2025 utilized that really well. From my perspective, the main objective of the set list is to celebrate Shoma's range of music genre, highlight the individual skills of each performers, and also make sure they all not die doing this show because all of them charged forward with full power.

SPOILERS ALERT. If you don't want to be spoiled about the show (especially if you're flying to Japan to watch) I don't recommend reading. Because honestly, Shoma made some incredible choices, I tip my hat to him and his team as producers.

Warning: I have included relevant photos for visuals so this is going to be REALLY REALLY LONG.

01. GREAT SPIRIT (Opening Number - All Skaters)

Well Shoma can't not open the show without this one, can he? Bless the day Shae-Lynn Bourne chose Grespi for Shoma. The program started with Shoma skating alone, and then Rika and Marin skated together in the center, before all the men joined them and they all skated together.

02. COME TOGETHER (All Skaters without Stephane Lambiel)

Still on SLB's Shoma playlist of intense heavy duty music, all skaters except Stephane (who skated backstage) continued the intense opening with Come Together.

03. INTRODUCTION - MENT / TALKING TIME (All Skaters, introduced by Shoma Uno as MC)

So this show has no breaks / intermissions (there was no zamboni time between halves) and no pre-recorded videos to fill the space when the skaters are resting, meaning it's a full nonstop show for 90 minutes. How the 7 skaters bought time to rest was this "MENT" (Talking time, common in KPOP concerts) where the skaters are on the ice and talk to the audience with mics. So the first MENT was Shoma on the mic introducing the cast, and they did some tricks when they were introduced.... Stephane who is like. 10 years older than all of them did a cartwheel LMAO (my Steph fan friend: STEPHANE NEVER DID ANY CARTWHEEL EVER)

04. LEGENDS (Shoma Uno & Stephane Lambiel)

I was watching from the very first show, and after the introduction, I note that the next program is about to start and... Shoma and Stephane stayed out while the rest of the skaters went backstage. My brain went haywire trying to think what program they would do together in that black shiny pleather opening costumes??? AND THEN LEGENDS STARTED PLAYING AND I LOST MY MIND. THIS EARLY IN THE SETLIST... SHOMA YOU GALAXY BRAINED GENIUS. They did the program in a diagonal mirroring way, with THAT step sequence done side by side. Some amazing new choreo with a bit of ice work too at the end. Just... the coolest legends skating Legends... and on the third show, they did it in front of the legend that brought this program to the world: Mihoko Higuchi herself, there in the flesh. They bowed at the end to the audience- this is also an interesting detail, there were only 3 bows in the whole show outside of the closing number: Stephane/Shoma, Shoma/Marin and Shoma alone. The rest of the programs flowed into the next without any time for bows.

05. LA VIE EN ROSE (Yoji Nakano & Rika Hongo)

Now this is where Shoma's portfolio of programs shine: he has many music that allows for physically less intense programs but still allow for some really good delicious flowing skating. La vie en Rose was reimagined to be a romantic duet with a little bit of cheek. Yoji and Rika played off each other so well, they were in their own little musical. One thing that is a bit clunky was that they did play a little humorous skit, which while cute may be disrupting the worldview fans have of La vie en Rose, which is a very sentimental song in Shoma's career (JNats 2019 gala anyone...) but overall it's very sweet and cute, and Yoji is perfectly charming to Rika's gorgeousness.

06. TIME AFTER TIME (Yoji Nakano, Kazuki Kushida, Tsunehito Karakawa, Rika Hongo & Stephane Lambiel)

Still in the light-hearted cheeky romantic musical vibe, the charming couple of Yoji and Rika were joined by Maitre'd Stephane Lambiel and his assistants Tsunehito and Kazuki Kushida, and they had a charming dinner with jazzy entertainment provided by the assistants and then Yoji too, lol. Yoji and Tsune are Prince Ice World skaters so this type of musical interlude with tricks and smooth skating are very much in their wheelhouse, and Kazuki Kushida has also charisma to spare. Stephane and Rika spent most of this number on chairs to enjoy the show, and at the end they all lifted Rika up, lol.

07. TANGUERA (Tsunehito Karakawa, joined by Shoma Uno & Marin Honda)

Dinner's over, the Maitre'd kicked everyone out of the ice, except Tsunehito who took off his vest and stayed. And then Tanguera started playing... the lights turned red... and we're in the spicy part of Shoma's portfolio. Tsune's skating is smooth and sharp, and he's joined midway by the owner of the program himself, and then Shoma and Tsune faced off against each other with some sharp skating. It built and built to the reveal of none other than Marin Honda in an incredible one shouldered red dress entering the ice to skate against them both, and well, this section ends with her sitting on their knees, a queen on her throne.

08. STAIRWAY TO HEAVEN / PPA (Marin Honda solo, ft. Shoma Uno & Tsunehito Karakawa)

Marin's red dress was more flamenco than tango so it's obvious the next song was Stairway to Heaven / PPA. The guys did feature a bit on the opening choreo, but this is Marin's show and they are immediately dismissed. And what a show it is, Marin Honda at her most glamorous best with her full splendor.

09. BUENOS AIRES HORA CERO / BALADA PARA UN LOCO (Shoma Uno solo)

After 8 years and countless questions by fans... she's here. The original and inimitable Loco, now skated by 2025 Shoma Uno, who is not only blonde, but wore a costume with such a sheer back I can see his entire back and shoulder blades moving to this music. And well. Loco is Loco. Shoma's masterpiece, and he kept the axel on the music change, with either 2A or 3A depending on his mood. He's on his full dangerous mode with this one.

10. GRAVITY (Stephane Lambiel solo)

How best to follow Loco? (this is a question that comes up often in this show, lol). Well, how about Gravity skated by the man who created it? Stephane is clearly the best professional skater in the cast with his years of experience, and it's amazing to see Gravity free from the shackles of competition, in its sensual, languid and emotional best. And Steph picked an excellent shirt for this one too ;) Also I included the jump landing photo because STEPHANE JUMPED SO MUCH IN THIS SHOW. Incredible.

11. WINTER (Rika Hongo & Marin Honda)

Beautifully dressed in all white, Rika and Marin look like the Winter Queen and Snow Princess respectively in this program. The choreography for Winter was pretty faithful to Shoma's original short program, especially on the step sequence. The ladies took turns skating harmoniously with the musical phrasing of the piece, which I loved.

12. NARCO by TIMMY TRUMPET (NEW PROGRAM) (Shoma Uno, Yoji Nakano, Tsunehito Karakawa, Kazuki Kushida)

This was a fun group number that was converted from land dancing choreography. The long training time really showed here, the guys are so good and synchronized, and this was probably when Shoma's projection power was at his very peak and brought up the temperature of the venue up. Very nice red costumes for this one.

13. MENT / TALKING TIME (MC by Shoma Uno, Yoji Nakano, Tsunehito Karakawa, Kazuki Kushida, Stephane Lambiel)

More talking time! Stephane joined the guys on the ice with towels and water bottles, making it very similar to KPOP MENT. At the shows that I attended, this is where Stephane said his compliments and thoughts on the show IN ENGLISH. Which Shoma does not understand. And then Shoma talks about his compliments and thoughts on the show IN JAPANESE. Which Stephane does not understand. (Spoiler alert: they both just said the same thing basically. IDK if they coordinated but they both look so confused askjdnaksjdnkadsn) It's a whole ass skit on its own lmao. 14. EARTH SONG / HISTORY (Yoji Nakano, Tsunehito Karakawa, Kazuki Kushida)

Shoma's one and only Michael Jackson program was a deep cut with Earth Song as its opening, but it was really convenient in the show because the slower, more mellow song allows for the guys who skated this to catch their breath before really turning on the full MJ experience when History started. It has everything a classic MJ program has: moonwalks, hip thrusts, popping, backflips, MJ poses. This is also one of my favorite program of the show- Yoji, Tsune and Kazuki Kushida were AMAZING. Love the energy in the program, and I still remember the sound of Kazuki Kushida blowing a kiss to my direction even now lol. 15. RIVERDANCE (Rika Hongo solo)

How can you not ask Rika Hongo in your show to do her legendary Riverdance program? This is a music Shoma and Rika shared. The opening choreo is actually Shoma's choreo from 2009, and then new choreography was added before Rika going full legend and unleashed her legendary step sequence from her original FS. It's a really cool way to both honor Shoma's portfolio and Rika's program. Also the penlights by the audience turned to all green for her, it's a really cool sight to see. 16. TIMELAPSE / SPIEGEL IM SPIEGEL (Stephane Lambiel solo)

This is a masterpiece. There is no way around it. For the promotion of this show, Shoma talked about making Stephane do this program that was really difficult. Which most fans thought it was Bolero, but Timelapse / Spiegel im Spiegel was Stephane's own selection of music given to Kenji Miyamoto to choreograph for Shoma, and the first time Shoma and Kenji listened together to the songs they went .... "oh shit" because it was SO HARD. Stephane was faithful to the original choreo by Kenji Miyamoto, and it was truly incredible. This is masterpiece level.

Also when the music started the crowd can't help but gasp... Shoma gave the best music choices he can choose for Stephane. Incredible. 17. WILD SIDE by ROBERTO CACCIAPAGLIA (NEW PROGRAM) (Shoma Uno & Marin Honda)

How do you even follow a masterpiece like Stephane's Timelapse / Spiegel??? Well, you don't. All you need to do is reveal that you have been practicing ice dance together for NINE MONTHS. When I tell you I sat there with my mouth open the WHOLE TIME. How do I even talk about it. More than the twizzles, the lifts, the dance spin... it was that they moved together as one. They were breathing together... their lines polished to match each other. Marin looking ethereal like the fairy queen... and Shoma looked like he would destroy and remake the world anew for her happiness.

This was really the moment everyone broke character in the audience, so far we were applauding really hard (Stephane's program had the biggest applause), but this was when we just started talking in disbelief to each other when it was over. Shomarin bowed to the audience after this, and it's hard not to feel like this was Shoma's way to tell the audience, his long time fans, that this is his happiness now, with Marin. And as his fans love him because of his skating, he tells them through their skating as well.

18. DANCING ON MY OWN (Yoji Nakano, Rika Hongo, Kazuki Kushida)

I'm kinda sad that there's not many photos for this program (I guess the photographers were reeling after Shomarin revealed THAT). But this was a beautiful callback to La vie en Rose back in the start, but this time, Rika left Yoji for Kazuki Kushida. Again this is where Shoma's portfolio of variety of songs shine, it was a beautiful, lyrical interpretation of the song with just lovely skating skills, and giving skaters time to breathe and recover. And they honor David Wilson's penchant for very literal choreo with Rika doing her beautiful Biellman spin on the lyrics "I'm spinning around in circles".

All choreographers in Shoma's competitive career were well represented, in my opinion. From Mihoko to Stephane to David to Shae and to Kenji, with Kenji overseeing the overall choreo for this show to make up for his choreo only represented in one program and its skated by the person who chose the music for him to choreograph (Stephane's Timelapse).

19. BOLERO IV - NEW BREATH (aka SHOLERO) (Group Number - All Skaters)

The program that Shoma was most happy about during his competitive life... of course it will end with this. All skaters were decked beautifully in gold and cream, and they did this beautiful circle formation and choreography reminiscent of Bejart's Bolero at the beginning, before it goes into the song. The skaters then left the ice one by one to leave the skater and choreographer alone with this program that made them World Champion and the coach of the World Champion, before Stephane sent Shoma off to finish the program with the legendary demonic step sequence. 20. SEE YOU AGAIN (Closing Number - All Skaters)

Just beautiful outro song to conclude the show, with the skaters showing beautiful, lyrical skating to this song, which had been with Shoma almost every step of his career. The jackets the skaters wore for this song has Ice Brave tagline: "BRAVERY ISN'T JUST MINE, IT'S BUILT BY THOSE WHO STAND WITH ME." And it really is Shoma's thesis statement for this show- he wants to show what he can create with other skaters, away from skating alone in competition. In his interview after the first day of the show, he confirmed the same thing- this is what fulfills him now, skating together with others to reach the same goal. He even said that it makes skating alone to his solo program (Loco) felt lonely.

21. OUTRO / TALKING TIME & FINAL LAPS (All Skaters, MC by Shoma Uno)

"Hello, Shoma Uno here." was the opening line of so many posts on Shoma's website back during his competitive days, so of course he started his final MENT with that. It was really a moment to thank all the audience, before going to the final laps. Tsune does a jump, Yoji does a backflip, and Shoma does his 4T and 4T3T... in his ice dancing blades. You know. Just Shoma Uno things.
