if i had a nickel for every time i played a remedy game that featured courtney hope’s character trying to get to a world-altering polyhedron in a universe where humans wear special harnesses to survive a world-ending threat, i’d have two nickels, which isn't a lot, but it's sure weird that it's happened twice
flipped version & process beneath the cut!

Peace froce is one of my player names and PATS is my one man team. Peace after the storm.
Maybe thier don't like it, but in this game everything has been leveled over time and there's hardly any pay to win.
It's fun to play with a random team of 5 players and fight another team for a bag or as a dead match.

An individual who engages in gaming for its intrinsic enjoyment. 🤣🙃✌️
The digital death is waiting for you during your lunch break, tactics are key.
Life is a competition if you let it be, the game 🎮 is definitely one because it's fun.
It's just a game and yet, in the moment of playing, it's everything.

Hmmm I kinda want to make a side blog for RPG Maker game development related things to be able to talk to more experienced people in that community, but at the same time I both don’t really think I’d get much attention and don’t want to accidentally spoil my own game (^^ ; ).
I have a rough story, concept doodles, a tileset, some character sprites, an enemy that walks around but can’t initiate battle yet (if I even decide to have a battle system), a couple rooms with some events, and a functioning run button, but I’m still lost on how to do much else at the moment. Especially since this program has the ability for scripting, meaning I’ll probably have to learn and actually retain another coding language.
So, I’m not very far at all lol. Idk how well that’d go over on the established fandom website, but eh.
#text post#incoherent rambling#project update#game project#I’m still also debating whether or not I can actually even make a proper horror game too#It’s the rule of like just being a horror fan doesn’t make you good at horror being afraid of something does? ya know?#I am trying to go with things that scare me personally but it’s been difficult#either things aren’t concrete of concepts enough or are wayyyy too oddly specific to make anything about#which is quitter talk I know but how does one translate the childhood heebee jeebees of watching top ten gaming videos past bedtime 💀💀💀#or like the way too broad general fear of lack of control without making it too on the nose or too vague#truly a balancing act writing is#kinda ironically I am also a little bit less afraid of hospitals after having been to one for myself rather than family members#which makes things both more and less difficult???#on one hand I have better references for them now but on the other hand I’m desensitized to it 😔#I think I get used to things a little too easily for a lot of things to stay scary#the thing was a scary movie the first time I saw it and now it’s a comfort film#funger was a very scary game until I first died and reloaded a save with little consequence and now it’s just a spooky but fun rpg#but then at the same time thinking about a movie studio logo before a movie that scared me as a kid cause there was a monster in it#still gives weird left over shivers but actually seeing it doesn’t anymore for some reason#I feel like that’s how it’s worked with most things I’ve ever been afraid of in my life besides concepts like death control or idk drowning#ugh writing is HARD#but actually making a functional and fun to play game is harder oh my god do I not know how to make puzzles#I have made swivel chairs that can be knocked and walked over but that’s about it and idk what to do with that knowledge lmaooooo#and I don’t want the entire gameplay loop to be read text search room get key repeat cause that’s boring#I have also desperately tried making a stamina system but there’s not much help with that online especially not in the rpg maker forums#the no necroposting rule sucks all the threads for questions I have never get answered and never will cause no one is allowed to due to age#anyway idk what to tag this probably won’t get seen since it’s not my usual anyway but eh whatever I’ll think about this#hopefully I remember the passwords to two blogs 💀💀💀

Translation.... is a fantastically complicated, demanding, and difficult task. And it feels like it's sometimes gotta be pretty unrewarding, because no matter what you choose, someone will be mad at you for doing it wrong. And I'm no purist, I skew hard towards preferring a translation to capture vibes (a subjective and squirrelly thing) over a literal one-to-one, I appreciate an artistic use of best judgment even if I ultimately disagree with the decision made. I've got so much respect for translators!
BUT.
That being said.
I feel like especially, especially in the context of something like a dramatic high fantasy novel, tone and register are so important! No modern terminally online transmigrators to muddy the waters! I'll make an exception for something hilarious, and I don't have a highbrow sense of humor, 'absolute unit' still makes me cackle. Something like "yea" (not 'yea, verily,' this is 'yeah,' said often, always without the h) may set my teeth on edge, but I can understand why someone might do that to me. "Tho" is more infuriating, but I can still.... logically understand how we got here.
But why on earth would you interrupt the build to a dramatic, tragic, intense scene by having our main character angrily call a crowd "newbs." I'm no longer in the moment, I'm staring into the middle distance and wondering why not just use the full n00b if it was going to go there. Sure, he's not talking elegantly, I get that. He was raised uneducated, not on 4chan. And the moment last night when I was reading and a character in ancient fantasy china proclaimed "Jeebus," I was filled with such incandescent rage that I immediately knew it was time to put the computer down and go to bed.
Jeebus.

What Accessories Should I Get for a Gaming PC?
When it comes to PC gaming, accessories are essential to take your experience to the next level.
Here are some must-have gaming accessories:
Gaming Mouse and Keyboard: Precise control is crucial in gaming. Invest in a high-quality gaming mouse and Mechanical Gaming keyboard with customizable features to match your playstyle.
Headset: A good gaming headset immerses you in the game's audio and enables clear communication with your teammates. Look for noise cancellation and a comfortable fit.
Monitor A high-refresh-rate monitor with low response time ensures a smoother gaming experience. Consider an upgrade to a gaming-specific monitor.
Controller: If you prefer a gamepad, invest in a high-quality controller for a more relaxed gaming experience.
Mousepad: A large, quality mousepad allows for fluid mouse movements and precise aiming.
Gaming Chair: Comfort is essential during long gaming sessions. A gaming chair offers ergonomic support and enhances your overall experience.

Physically bought single player games, that can no longer be played.
Live-Service games, forced always-online games, everything that is Steam...
The recent crackdown on ROM sites hosting software that has not been sold in DECADES...
Also, the subscription model for software, all that is fraud.
Nothing else.

Alright, unfortunately I don't think I like Rain World and will be dropping it 😔👏
Which sucks, the vibe and the idea of the game is really fun, but, idk if it's an issue with the PS4, but the controls feel very inconsistent and inaccurate?? I mentioned swimming controls being an issue, but also there's some really weird consistency issues??? Like, for example, there's a part I have to drop down a hole and hold up to grab a bar or else I fall in the water and get eaten, but sometimes the game just, refuses to grab the bars??? I'm holding up while falling and it just, keeps falling and ignores my input 😫
Which wouldn't be that big of an issue normally, but with the game's karma system punishing you every time you die and barring your progress, it really just makes it unplayable for me
A shame but alas, maybe I'll try the PC version in the future and see if it runs properly

Feeling Precisely Less Crappy Enough to do a little more diving, where I was rewarded with:
- A genuinely pretty good map with a large section of prehistoric marine life, including your good friend and mine Anomalocaris,
- A whale shark! :D Who gave me a better idea of how much I’ll have to grind to make one my dive buddy (A LOT) but hey, I got to see a whale shark. I am happy.
- A sense of how the UML system works, which ended with me being Quite Annoyed by the UML system as one of them was in an interior section I could not for the LIFE of me get into and there’s a time limit for scanning them that’s made quite difficult on maps this large,
- Me going “hey it’s my old friend X!” every time I encountered a legendary from Blue World… including Thanatos, who is now uncharacteristically peaceful, which I find hysterically funny. He’s done menacing the Atlantic, sinking ships and thwapping divers with his tail and having backup sharks. He’s chill now.
Also my battery was set for two hour-long online dives in handheld mode. Not bad.
