Prompt: Write a movie concept involving Sam Reich's (more specifically his persona as a mildly demented game show host on Dropout) journey into manic supervillainy and the ensuing over-the-top ridiculous clashes with his archnemesis: Brennan Lee Mulligan.
Title: Dropout or Die: The Sam Reich Ascension
Tagline: Discover the true Reich of chaos
Logine: Dropout kingpin Sam Reich, fueled by a potent blend of Mountain Dew and existential dread, ascends to supervillainy. Now, armed with a nonsensical army of internet randos and armed with a twisted version of his game shows, he challenges his archnemesis, the wholesomely heroic Brennan Lee Mulligan, to a series of increasingly ridiculous battles for the fate of the internet.
Characters:
Sam Reich: The once-beloved host of Dropout, now a manic supervillain obsessed with proving the superiority of internet culture. He wields outdated memes and viral trends as his weapons.
Brennan Lee Mulligan: The wholesome and athletic champion of all that is good on the internet. He uses his teamwork skills and genuine charisma to counter Reich's chaotic schemes.
The Dropout Army: A ragtag group of internet personalities, gamers, and forum dwellers, manipulated and fueled by Reich's promises of internet domination.
The Algorithm Avengers: Brennan's team of allies, including a conspiracy theory-debunking librarian, a teenage coding prodigy, and a surprisingly buff cat influencer.
Plot:
Sam Reich, the host of the increasingly unhinged game show "You Don't Know Jack," snaps. Fueled by a potent concoction of Mountain Dew, existential dread, and the pressure to stay relevant, he discovers a hidden internet artifact – the "Scroll of Clickbait." This ancient scroll grants him the power to manipulate the very fabric of online trends and memes.
Corrupted by power, Reich declares himself "Overlord of the Algorithm" and vows to reshape the internet in his twisted image. His first target? His former co-host and foil, Brennan Lee Mulligan, the embodiment of wholesome online content.
Reich unleashes a series of absurd challenges based on warped versions of his game shows. Contestants are forced to participate in real-life "Wikipedia Races" with dodgeball-wielding librarians, decipher nonsensical riddles based on outdated memes, and navigate obstacle courses filled with internet trolls.
Brennan, ever the champion of good, rallies his own team – The Algorithm Avengers. They consist of an unlikely bunch: a conspiracy theory-debunking librarian with surprising martial arts skills, a teenage coding prodigy who can manipulate social media algorithms, and a surprisingly buff cat influencer with a massive online following.
Each battle is a hilarious spectacle of internet culture come to life. Reich throws everything at Brennan – weaponized cat videos, comment section arguments manifested as physical beings, and a sentient pop-up ad monster. Brennan counters with clever use of teamwork, witty banter, and the unexpected tactical advantage of catnip grenades (courtesy of the buff cat influencer).
The climax involves a showdown within a virtual reality game show arena created by Reich. Brennan and his team must navigate a series of challenges that parody classic internet experiences – from navigating a comment section filled with angry trolls to escaping a pop-up ad labyrinth. In the end, it's not brute force that wins, but Brennan's genuine connection with the online community. He uses his social media influence to expose Reich's manipulations, causing the internet users to abandon him.
Themes:
The power and pitfalls of internet culture.
The importance of genuine connection and collaboration.
The fight against manipulation and misinformation online.
Humor:
Slapstick humor based on internet memes and online experiences come to life.
The absurdity of Reich's schemes and his reliance on outdated internet trends.
Witty banter and self-referential humor referencing Dropout shows and internet culture.
Ending Scene:
A defeated Reich, stripped of his powers, is forced to return to hosting a low-budget web series about obscure historical facts. Brennan, hailed as the champion of the internet, celebrates with his team. However, in a post-credits scene, a shadowy figure emerges from the dark corner of the internet, holding a mysterious artifact – a dusty VHS tape labeled "Myspace Mayhem." The figure cackles, hinting at a future villain even more terrifying than the Overlord of the Algorithm.

In the Human Comedy, yet a new update of the Simulated Universe, it was only a given that they should find some new batch of enemies and instances to face, but this seemed to be one of their odder encounters. In the confines of a classical theater, a single limelight shone upon a towering automaton suspended in a courtly bow, prepared to prance. It appeared stationary, gears and pistons of brass and copper glinting in the illumination. Caelus grinned confidently at him, but given its enormity, he somehow felt it wasn't the vote they needed. "Caelus, we should--" A menacing squeak of hinges interrupted him and the automata's head snapped in their direction, and Dan Heng's gaze flickered warily upwards. If they somehow survived this round, he'd consider it a miracle.
Caelus didn't understand why Dan Heng always had that worried shadow hanging over his face. It's not like the world was at stake this time! Really, he invited him for a round in here to-
"Relaaax," the vessel drawled, holding his hat loosely between two fingers, his other hand propped on his hip without a care in the world. Why would he, with one of his Astral Express crewmembers by his side? "We got this in the bag!"
And besides, today, this stage belonged to Caelus. With a theatrical twirl, he flung his hat into the air with a flourish, sending a spray of sparkling, dream-like projections crashing down onto the enemy's head.
Let the show begin!

You know, for someone so observant, you really had an awful habit of texting while walking.
As you made your way along the sidewalks of Queens, you kept your eyes fixated on the bright screen in your hand, the blue light hurting your eyes slightly as it contrasted against the fading afternoon light.
“Watch it!” An angry male voice huffs out as you accidentally run into him, your phone fumbling to the floor.
“Ah, shit. I’m sorry.” You blink, taking in the man that stood in front of you.
He looked disheveled and reeked of alcohol. You frowned. You should head back home, it was getting late; this part of town was slightly dodgy and you knew better than to dwell too long here at night.
Bending over, you grabbed your fallen phone that laid by the man’s feet.
Sighing, you brought it up to view, frowning at your now cracked screen.

animation being treated like a genre instead of a medium is something that actually makes me go insane. beauty and the beast is a romance. the emperor's new groove is a buddy comedy. big hero 6 is a superhero movie. moana is an adventure film. the lion king is a drama. treasure planet is sci-fi. if i was talking to someone who hadn't seen these movies before, and they weren't specifically interested in animation as a medium, then i wouldn't necessarily assume they'd enjoy all of these. and that's just disney movies! try telling an anime fan that fruits basket and fullmetal alchemist are the same genre and see how they react!

Luz (2020)
Ruben and Carlos are cellmates in a minimum security prison. Over the course of their sentences, they become friends and, eventually, lovers. When Ruben is finally released—three years after Carlos—the two men reconnect and try to rebuild their lives together. Luz is a movie that tries to be a lot of things—a romance story, a prison drama, an action film—but ultimately falls a little flat. Although the performances were strong, the mixture of poor pacing and on-the-nose dialogue prevented me from connecting with the characters and their relationship. But if you are just looking for a steamy gay love story with a happy ending, Luz is worth a try.
Director: Jon Garcia
Runtime: 1h 58m

Prompt: create a movie concept for a comedy/thriller about an HVAC contractor who finds themself chased by unclear enemies over something they supposedly overheard or saw on a routine call.
The Duck Tape Case
Logline: A hapless HVAC contractor, accidentally involved in a dangerous conspiracy, must navigate a labyrinth of corporate espionage, government intrigue, and a cast of shady characters, all while trying to decipher the mysterious secret he somehow overheard.
Tagline: More like a lame duck case.
Characters:
Danny (30s): A bumbling HVAC contractor with a knack for getting into trouble. He's more interested in fixing leaks than solving mysteries.
Agent Carter (40s): A serious and determined FBI agent who believes Danny is involved in a high-stakes conspiracy.
The Mysterious Figure (age unknown): A shadowy figure who seems to be watching Danny's every move, their motives shrouded in mystery.
The Conspiracy Theorist (60s): A retired HVAC technician turned conspiracy theorist, convinced that Danny is part of a vast government cover-up.
Plot:
Danny, a simple HVAC contractor, gets caught up in a dangerous game when he overhears a suspicious conversation during a routine service call. He's not sure what he heard, but it's enough to pique the interest of a shadowy figure who begins to stalk him.
Agent Carter, convinced Danny is involved in a high-stakes conspiracy, begins to investigate. Danny, clueless and terrified, finds himself caught in a whirlwind of danger, pursued by mysterious figures and accused of crimes he has no memory of committing.
As Danny tries to piece together the puzzle, he encounters a cast of eccentric characters, including a conspiracy theorist convinced he's the key to unlocking the mystery. The conspiracy theorist, believing Danny is part of a government cover-up, leads him on a wild goose chase, further complicating the situation.
The HVAC Duct Scene:
During a particularly tense chase, Danny finds himself hiding in a thematically appropriate HVAC duct. He groans, "Oh, come on. I thought we were past the whole 'hiding in the air duct' cliché."
The Reveal:
It turns out Danny overheard nothing compromising. The mysterious figure was targeting someone else, and Danny's presence at the wrong time made him an unwitting pawn in a larger game. The real conspiracy involves a government agency, corporate espionage, and a secret project hidden within the HVAC system.
Themes:
The dangers of paranoia: The conspiracy theorist's unfounded beliefs lead to dangerous consequences.
The importance of trust: Danny must learn to trust Agent Carter and the conspiracy theorist, despite their flaws.
The absurdity of life: The film uses humor to highlight the absurdity of the situation, with Danny caught in a web of mistaken identity and conspiracy theories.
The Climax:
Danny, with the help of a reluctant Agent Carter and the conspiracy theorist, must race against time to uncover the truth and stop the mysterious figure before they can execute their plan. The climax involves a high-stakes chase through the city's HVAC system, culminating in a confrontation with the shadowy figure.
The Ending:
Danny, having narrowly escaped death, returns to his normal life as an HVAC contractor. However, the experience has changed him. He's more cautious, more aware of the hidden dangers lurking beneath the surface. And while he's relieved to be out of the danger zone, he can't help but wonder what other secrets are lurking in the city's ducts.
