You know, I think Cyrus has the dumbest villain motivation in Pokemon. Everyone else's motivations you can kinda see how they came to them (and in some cases they even have a point) or they're so simplistic that you understand implicitly (Giovanni and Ghetsis' only motivations is that they're power hungry evil rat bastards and sometimes people are just like that). Even Archie and Maxie, the two characters' whose plans are the most derided, make sense (in ORAS, at least. I never played RSE). You can see why Archie would arrive at the conclusion that humans fucked up the planet too much and maybe everything would be better off if we just flooded the place and started over. You can see why Maxie would say "Hey, humanity's gonna run out of space to live, maybe we should make some more ground so we don't die from overpopulation."
But Cyrus' motives are, from what I gather, his parents had unreasonably high expectations of him and he preferred machines to people so he decided that emotions were bad and should be eliminated and hey maybe he'll restart the world as its new god. And he's faced with overwhelming evidence that he's wrong. His organization is being torn apart by people whose power comes from the emotional bonds they share with their Pokemon and each other, something he openly admits and points out, and he owns a Crobat which can only be evolved when it forms an emotional connection with someone. His motivation makes no sense.
Actually, wait, I just remembered Turo and Sada's sole motivation was they really, really, really wanted to time travel. Cyrus has the second dumbest motivation.

could you write ghetsis with an oblivious and sweet reader?
Ghetsis x Sweet Reader
Ghetsis is obviously not the best person in the world, given the number of things he was doing. He's technically a manipulator, being able to convince many to do his bidding under the pretense of doing it for the greater good.
But after everything that happened in Unova, five years after the rise and fall of Team Plasma...he's lost everything. He lost his power and influence, arrested for his crimes. He sits in jail, behind bars, having been taken away by Cheren and Alder.
Being in this position, he's not even able to influence the other prisoners, due to some of them being ex Team Plasma members. They warned the other prisoners of Ghetsis' manipulation tactics.
At first, he's not able to come into terms with his new life. He was in livid denial over his circumstances, holding onto a firm belief that he would be set free but he never was.
Over time, he adjusted a smidge, due to there being a psychiatry ward in the prison.
But what really changed him, was you.
You were his cell mate, having been locked away before Ghetsis ever came there. You were someone completely unaware of who he was or how he even came here.
Oddly enough though, you're the only person who's actually nice to him. You're the only person worth talking to.
Ghetsis is cold to you at first, ignoring you. You often just talked out loud, contemplating about the greater things in life worth looking forward to. Admittedly, hearing your hopeful talks made him soften and had him hoping for better days.
You're really weird for a prisoner. You talk with everyone, you're on good terms with the guard, and you don't seem to frown. He wonders how someone like you ever got here.
For the first several weeks, he didn't talk to you. But at some point, he starts to add questions and little comments to your open wordly discussions. You even made him laugh at some point, something he thought once would never happen again.
He starts to gravitate towards you more after a year of knowing you. He sits with you during meal times and converses with you, finding out that you're more philosophical than you appeared to be, but then again your prison clothes don't help much.
Then one day, he asks why you're here. What could you have possibly done that would warrant you to be a prisoner here.
You explain quick and casually that you killed someone. His eyes widen in disbelief. You? You killing someone? He can't help but to laugh and joke if you did it with kindness.
You didn't kill someone, but that's what the jury decided. What occurred was between you and your friend. They had a shitty partner at the time. You saw them arguing in the parking lot, one of them throwing punches at each other. You ran in there to separate them, holding the partner from behind but then your friend attacked them with a knife.
You tried to save them, you earnestly did. But it was too late. You ran from that scene to look for help.
Your friend betrayed you by twisting the narrative, saying you gave them the knife and encouraged them to do it and had schemed a plan to kill the partner. You running from the crime scene to get help was portrayed differently. Your friend had a phone recording of the two of you taking prior to the event of you getting angry at their partner's actions, to the point where you said, "I'm going to kill him," and it was taken seriously. They completely threw you under the bus in order to get a lighter sentence. Somehow it worked; you think the judge had a part in this.
Ghetsis sits there in a quiet, stunned shock. He asks why you didn't get a lawyer. You couldn't afford one.
He then gets angry at you, asking why you aren't miserable and angry when the world had so wrongfully been cruel to you. He calls you an idiot.
You explain that you're always paired up with cell mates that have a lighter sentence than you and you want them to have a better future than you. You're not a criminal and you don't treat your cell mate like one either.
Being sentenced with the crime you didn't commit, there was no possible hope for you to have a good future. So you tried to encourage those who were your cell mate to just, try to be better, despite what happened to you.
Ghetsis seems to have changed after that, contemplating in silence. He begins to treat you differently. Because of how tall he is, he looms over you. He's never really physically affectionate, but sometimes he'll pat you on the shoulder when he wants you to himself, leading you away from your friend groups.
He talks more often with you. He does more gestures. Somehow miraculously, he got his hands on chocolate for Valentine's Day and saved it just for you.
Your eyes widen and you take a bite of the chocolate bar, savoring its sweetness. He sits next to you and asks if you enjoy it, you nod, smiling sweetly with your eyes closed with your hand pressed to your cheek.
You had a smidge of smeared chocolate on the corner of your lip. Ghetis licks his thumb and wipes it off you before recoiling back at how gentle the gesture he just made was. You're oblivious to the context as to why he did that and instead offer him a bite of your chocolate.
He scoffs, calls you an idiot again, before smiling and reaching for the candy.

The radios today seem to not be working; something was causing interference with the waves. Online radio stations seem to be having a better chance at things, but unfortunately nobody could get audio either. However, the audio transcriptor seemed to be working, so while people couldn't hear, they could read what was going on.
On top of this the video feed seemed to be working, so coupling this, people were having a grand ol' time watching the last bit of the race.
The final segment of the race was here: THE CORONET TRACK!
Transcript from the Third Segment of the Lunar Race:
Good morning everybody!
I'm Kinsey from Sinnoh Now, coming to you live from the base of Mt Coronet, the final track of the Great Lunar Race! Entirely on land, the goal for everybody is to get to the top! This is a free for all, so anything goes in terms of the way up. Our racers will run, climb and do whatever it takes to get out top!!
Last time King Ghetsis was holding the first place, followed by Hassel with Alistair holding onto third. But how long will these three stay up top? It's anyone's game now at the final leg of the race. We will be following them up via helicopter alongside Goldenrod Radio. Now...let's go cheer on our racers!
*1....2.....3....GO!*
Ghetsis hanging onto his lead, riding on Maryse's back. Team Houndoom has gotten quite the lead. Not to be left in the dust, Ashe, Green and Giacomo are hot on Ghetsis' literal tail! Everyone else is sprinting off from the starting line after them, rounding up the main path of hikers on Mt Coronet.
It seems like the racers have all agree on taking a vertical route up the mountain, rather than taking the safe main roads. You can feel the competitive spirit! Alistair and Daisy are really going for it, as are Ghetsis and Hassel, looking comfortable on the backs of their Garchomps. Giacomo looks pretty queasy from up here, but he and Tyrant are making good headway up the mountainside.
Oh, no. Looks like there's an equipment malfunction again. Just who provided the gear?! This is ridiculous! Rika, Ashe, Yris and Green really need to talk to their sponsors about better safety gear! Looks like Team Luxray is ditching the gear and is going bareback! Good thing her Garchomp doesn't have Rough Skin, or that would be an uncomfortable ride! That's some great leg strength there, hang in there Rika!
Alistair is keeping up his lead, now followed by Rika as they proceed the next part using the main road! Looks like Team Luxray is more surefooted now, Rika speeding along with Sosu right after Alistair and Daisy. Yris is also keeping pace with Rika, running beside her with Juno the Garchomp.
Mt Coronet is known for being pretty treacherous even for the most prepared hiker or mountaineer. We get regular avalanches and rockslides up here. Oh, would you look at that! There's one right ahead. The main path is blocked up with rocks. The Garchomps are showing off their nimble movements across the fallen rocks, but some have opted to try and climb upwards again, slowing down their progress.
Among those who chose to climb vertically is Hilary, who is now considered in first place. Ghetsis has also chosen to climb upwards, Maryse jumping upwards to close the gap between them as quickly as possible.
We are nearing the top of the mountain and our racers are really fierce! Aluwa's been playing it more careful this time. We are seeing a big burst of energy from her and Torque! Brian making up for past segments with him and Chelsea coming up behind Aluwa, followed by Hilary.
The finish line is fast approaching. Where is everyone else on the mountain? Everybody split off and made their own path to the top. I can see Alistair and Yris lagging behind on the main road, they both look a little lost. Oh, there's Giacomo! Oh, I think Tyrant is bodily carrying his rider up; looks like poor Giacomo isn't having a good time with heights, especially after the Sky track earlier this week. Oh, hey, another rockslide. Looks like some of the racers got caught up in it; King Ghetsis is with Rika helping to get the stuck racers out of trouble. I can see Blue and Green rushing ahead; they must have made it past before the rockslide happened. The two of them are in fierce competition. Let's see...is anyone getting closer to the top?
Oh, that's one of the pinch hitters, Hilary of Team Bastiodon! I can see him about to crest the top – no wait! Coming from the other side with a huge jump! That's Hassel and Rosso! They're soaring through the air and cutting straight through the finish line ribbon! Hilary has finished climbing the cliffside and has crossed, too. And oh, Green has made it up the main path, coming in third place!
Amazing!
This year's winner is Hassel of Team Mamoswine!
I can see the fans at the bottom of Mt Coronet cheering. Are those Uva-Naranja Academy uniforms, I see? Looks like the school turned out to watch their teacher race! Paldea turned out in support of their racers.
Incredible. That brings the Lunar Race to a close. Tomorrow we will have the winner's ceremony in which Hassel will receive his medal and the passing of the torch may occur between the winning Garchomp and last year's Champion Lopunny. Please tune in tomorrow for the ceremony it's going to be beautiful, held at the illustrious Spear Pillar and handled by the shrine maiden of the Moon Shrine! Hassel will be crowned the Luckiest Man in the World.
This is Kinsey, signing off!

ALSO ALSO ALSO
I'm on board with the Ghetsis has chronic pain thing.
And like you know how he slams his cane on the ground? I think that doing that, like, fucking hurts like hell for him. But he does it to try to ground himself bc 1) he doesn't really know what else to do and hes really desperate to not lose his cool in most situations 2) it scares the shit out of people, which in turn makes him feel less vulnerable.
He's like, TERRIFIED of feeling "exposed" or vulnerable. He can't let other people see him in a "weakened" state to the point where there's only like three people he'll eat in front of bc god forbid anyone find out that he does in fact require food to live. You know, like a human or something. Likewise, I think he also has pain medication prescribed to him but he hates taking it and will absolutely refuse to unless Colress literally begs him to take it. Oh, yeah. Colress is also the reason why Ghetsis actually starts going to the doctor and even therapy sometimes. And yeah...he DEFINITELY tricked out the cane too just to get ghetsis to use it
Ok I'm still working on a response for your last ask but GOD THIS ALL OF IT IS SO TRUE. ALL OF IT. I was just thinking about it earlier too. Ghetsis is absolutely terrified of being perceived and vulnerable. He can't let anyone know he's a human being, a mortal man with weaknesses, someone who can be hurt, someone who can die. This is why I think he covers the scars on his face with makeup. He hides all evidence of him being capable of being harmed, because Gods can't be harmed!
With the Cane, I've put a lot of thought into this. The cane itself is white, and it contrasts a lot with the dark overall colors of Neo Team Plasma. It looks like one of two things happened with it:
1. He had that cane during BW. The colors match better. He didn't use it because of that fear of looking weak. By the time BW2 came around, he was hardly able to walk normally. When Colress comes back to Unova and finds out about what happened to Ghetsis' arm, he absolutely convinces him to use it again. The cane makes him look powerful! If someone is being stupid he can smack them with it! And Colress can even trick it out with Devices! Ghetsis likes those!
2. Ghetsis didn't have a cane in BW but still needed one. Suffered without one for so long he once again could hardly walk normally. Sometimes the Grunts would help him walk (see: they huddle around him when they walk away after his speeches :]). While the general Neo Team Plasma color is black, it should be noted almost everything associated with Colress is white. Perhaps Colress made a special cane just for him, which helped in convincing him to use it
I just think Colress took care of Ghetsis a lot during BW2. Before then Ghetsis was putting himself through hell out of fear. But Colress convinced him to allow himself fo be helped. Colress has seen parts of Ghetsis he wouldn't dare show anyone else. Colress was never intimidated by Ghetsis, and as such has the special ability to reach through all his emotional barriers and get right to his heart. And Ghetsis surprisingly doesn't feel the need to recoil. For the duration of BW2, I like to think Ghetsis could be fully "exposed" to Colress and Colress would hold him with gentle arms.
And every time I think about that it reminds me of how much weight Colress running to alola and proclaiming his hatred for Ghetsis holds.... :( He'll make up for it.... Someday...

[“Thea, can we talk outside?”
“Mhm.”
“Why are you keeping me off the internet?”
“I am not—” Anthea starts, but she cuts off as she sees Connie’s stormy expression.
“Every time I’ve touched a computer today you’ve sent me off to do more chores. This is not normal. Did something happen online today, Thea?”
“Nothing important happened. That bird keeper’s picking fights again. Gray is still in crisis, but not worse than before.”
“Then what are you hiding from me?”
“You’re one to talk about hiding things,” Anthea snaps. “Going behind my back to tell Gray to stay away from me?”
Connie looks taken aback. “I—I was worried about you. You said—”
“I said I was fine, C. I don’t need you to protect me by… …Oh.” She mutters something indistinct that might be a swear word.
“What?”
Anthea sighs heavily and runs her hands over her face. “Fine... All of Rotomblr’s been up in arms today over whether former evil team members and their associates can be forgiven. I was…worried you might be upset.”
“By that?”
“Well…last month when someone brought that up you had panic attacks for days. I did not want you to have to go through that again.”
Connie laughs, a little hysterically. “Anthea, I fell apart over that because he threatened to kill you and then compared us to Ghetsis. I promise I am not going to have a breakdown over everyone who indiscriminately hates Team Plasma.”
“… Perhaps I am just an idiot, then.” She sighs again. “I am sorry. I really did not think this through. I should have just…warned you, huh, instead of trying to hide it from you like you were a child.”
“Ah…I suppose we are both hypocrites. I am sorry too. I was just…scared for you.”
“Is touching okay?”
“Mhm.”
Anthea leans her head against her sister’s shoulder. “I’m sorry. I’ll try to be better about trusting that you can take care of yourself.”
“I will do the same. Just…promise me you actually will take care of yourself?”
“I will if you will, peace-dove.”]

"Hey, guys... what do you think about Guy?"
"... really, Pallas?"
"No, I find myself curious as well. What do you make of him?"
"Hmm... I mean, he's kind of a cool guy, isn't he? Unfortunate names aside. You think he watched Naruto?"
"Maybe? Guess it didn't stick very well though. Otherwise I bet he'd be acting less like Sasuke."
"Anime aside, I think he has potential. He believes himself to be weak now, but to evolve to the point that he has requires some measure of strength in and of itself, no? If anything, he brings to mind a younger version of you, Chevalier."
"Ditto that! He's got all your bad habits about wanting to be strong on his own, but he's not as laid-back. I think he tries a bit too hard though."
"Maybe that's because unlike me, he actually had something bad happen to him BEFORE he started his journey? I don't exactly count my run-in with the Shadow Chikorita as a 'bad thing'."
"But it was definitely bad."
"It still wasn't the reason I finally bit the bullet and became a Trainer. But... you guys are right. I can see him making a lot of the same mistakes I could make, and I don't want him to fall into that trap of feeling worthless for relying on the people around you. ...sheesh, if I didn't know any better, I'd say I'm predisposed to being protective of any Oshawott-line I happen to come across."
"That's because you are-- you didn't exactly warm to that Gen fellow slowly either. But I agree with you wholeheartedly otherwise, Chevalier. And if it helps... I'm sure he sees that same kinship in you."
"Probably. Otherwise he probably would've backed off the second he found out I was a Trainer, even if I am regions, dimensions, AND years apart from him...I really hope he comes out of Ghetsis 2 okay when that happens..."
"Hear hear."
"I pray that his Ho-oh sheds light upon his path. Though... speaking of..."

Ok so picture this- its a few years after the events of pokemon bw2, and Ghetsis and N are talkin because theyre trying to reconnect or something. N says that ghetsis should learn how to be nice to pokemon (since he never really learned how, with the way he grew up). Ghetsis reluctantly arees, so N goes out and catches him a Deino and teaches him how to care for her and be gentle with her. They name her fluffy too just thought i’d throw that in. Fluffy is a little scared of Ghetsis even though he’s trying his best.
“Maybe it’s just her...” N says. The next day he shows up with ANOTHER deino and says “maybe this one will like you better.”
It’s the same thing with Dave, the new deino. Ghetsis is trying his best but dave gets scared whenever ghetsis tries to pet him.
N gets ANOTHER
at this point ghetsis is startting to get frustrated at the deinos and mad at N. He tries to be nice to them but they keep etting scared of him and n keeps getting more. By the third month they have 16. (and ghetsis has gotten slightly close to his old pokemon).
Then all of a sudden the deinos just start to love him. Every time he sits down they come running to sit on his lap. They all feel like they have to eat at once so ghetsis has to strule to remember to fill all of their bowls. They like to chew on his cape-cloak-thing-a-ma-bob and follow him everywhere. It’s overwhelming but at least he knows how to treat living creatures now.

One Villainous Scene - Shattered Mask
So...Ghetsis, leader of Team Plasma and easily the most evil villain in the core Pokemon video game series, has an interesting (and by “interesting” I mean “terrifying”) quirk given to him in Pokemon Adventures. He’s still a heartless, narcissistic megalomaniac....but he’s a very high-functioning one. He is always in control - not just over the events in his master plan, but also over himself: always speaking politely and wearing this benign, kindly look on his face as if the disturbing Pope parallels inherent to his character weren’t obvious enough.
In the Black 2/White 2 story arc, this face had gone kind of wonky with a lot of tell-tale signs to his true evil nature popping up even as he strains to keep it on, making it come off like a mask that didn’t quite fit anymore. But in the climactic chapter, when he is cornered aboard his airship and has nowhere left to run and all seems lost, it’s back to normal all of a sudden.
Tumblr media
So...why is that? Why is he so calm? What is he planning to do?
Tumblr media
Suicide alongside mass murder, that’s what!
Oh, and you gotta love the inexplicable holy light shining upon him before he detonates the bomb, really leaning in to how he views himself as a saintly martyr; a perfect human being.
And then......this happens:
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
N is the person Ghetsis has always looked down upon the most. He saw him as just a monstrous freak of nature only fit to be the central pawn in his scheme, and he has fiercely resented him ever since he broke free of being that pawn. And yet...here’s N, attempting to save his life, still calling him his father, telling him that he loves him and is grateful to him despite everything. This is a level of pure, good humanity that is completely beyond Ghetsis’ grasp - and him being faced with it, coming from N specifically, is like a knife stabbed through the heart of his narcissistic self-image. Ghetsis loses control, and now his true face is on display for all to see. How ironic is it that he calls N a “monster”, given the way he looks?
Oh, and N is grateful to him for saving his life? Better rectify that by brutally killing N, then!
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Ghetsis’ deranged, triumphant laughter as he falls to his death is cut short when he is saved by Zekrom......who is now squeezing him, digging its claws into him, and glaring at him furiously. Scared beyond all reason, Ghetsis can only scream “LET GO!”, a command Zekrom does not follow. It’s Ghetsis’ greatest fear come true: a total lack of control; being left helpless and powerless. If Ghetsis has no control, then he has nothing at all. No control, no Ghetsis.
Which makes his ultimate fate that much more satisfying:
Tumblr media
No control over his situation, as he’s being taken to jail to “live with the shame of a captive”. No control over Pokemon, thousands of whom are glaring at him in the exact same furious, unforgiving way that Zekrom did. And no control over his own mind, as his attempt at reasserting his mask of a composed, saintly gentleman utterly collapses and his former eloquence goes with it as he starts laughing hysterically out of sheer terror and mental anguish before lunging for the safety of the police helicopter. In a way, Ghetsis is now nothing but a shell of his former self. But also in a way, this was always what Ghetsis was at his core and wanted so badly to deny, and now he’s condemned to spend the rest of his life with it.
Truly one of the darkest Pokemon villains ever, a fact cemented by this single chapter.

You know for the Villain Unova Kids AU I was thinking about their parents and such
Like yeah we got Drayden and Iris already with Drayden blaming himself for part of her corruption. Cause he felt if he tried harder then she might not have ended up the way she did
And idk about Ghetsis cause he’s probably either dead or in a cell
But like what about Hilda and Hilberts mom? Cheren’s parents? Bianca’s mom and dad?
Oh shit Bianca’s dad
Like ya know how Bianca’s dad didn’t want her to go on a journey with the other Nuvema kids cause he didn’t believe she was strong enough to protect herself? Imagine Bianca going home after the six of them are revealed to be the cause of the attacks, and she starts asking if he thinks she’s strong enough now. If he still doubts her abilities just like the rest of Unova. Just terrifying the absolute shit out of her dad
Also how ironic, Bianca’s dad didn’t want her to leave to protect her from the dangers of Unova, yet she became one of the biggest dangers herself
GOING FUCKING INSANE OVER THAT MENTAL IMAGE YOUR HONOUR CNDMNDMDNDMD
Gooooodddddd fucking imagine just Bianca and her father all alone in a dimly lit room in their home, sitting across from each other, Bianca has this smile on her face, her father was unnerved by it. The heat outside was unebarable, Reshiram's thunderous roar heard from within their home, the sound of people screaming ringing in their ears. Yet despite the heat outside, for Bianca's father the room felt so cold.
Bianca looked out the window, watching Reshiram, "there's beauty in the flames, that's what Reshiram told us, do you see it too?" She smiles, voice calm, watching the flames dance outside, burning the trees and houses. "Reshiram never told me I was weak.. he was never one to lie too." She then turns to her father, "what about you, dad? Do you still think I'm weak?"
Almost petrified, he watches as her eyes almost seem to glow amidst the flames, amidst the dim room, it terrified him. His regrets were breaking him from within, almost going on how he should've been a better father to her, then perhaps she wouldn't turn out like that, maybe he really was a bit rough with her. But then again, that was an understatement, too many times he had threatened her to come back home because he never believed she was strong, how she only got that far because of the twins' and Cheren's help, that she became a professor now because of Juniper, not by her own efforts. He was never one to believe Juniper when she said Bianca was a strong trainer despite her appearance. And now, the guilt of it all was eating him alive.
Bianca looks at him and laughs, a dark and hollow chuckle almost drowning out the screams and cries from outside. She stands up, walks across him, goes outside their house. He follows her, albeit terrified, he follows her out and the scene outside their home almost felt surreal. Burnt bodies and trees and houses, people screaming for help, Reshiram was on a rampage. Bianca walked in the middle of it, reaching out for Reshiram, the Dragon crouched down to her level, crooning as he let her run her her hands through his fur. The beauty of it all, a terrifying monster capable of causing heatwaves, caving it at the mere touch of someone people always saw as weak. Bianca turned to her father, that damned smile still on her face, and this time Reshiram was glaring at him, growling as he did.
"you never answered my question, dad," she said, leaning in on Reshiram's head, her hands still on his fur, petting him, "do you still think I'm weak?"
No. No of course she wasn't. But no, those weren't the words that came out his mouth, he begged, on his knees, forgiveness, atonement, understanding, "I was just trying to protect you!" He cried out, desperate.
The smile on her face faltered, replaced by a grimace, eyes once gleaming turned dark, expression unreadable. She spoke, "I never knew telling someone they're weak was considered protecting them." She then turns to Reshiram, "well, what do you think, darling? Is he really telling me the truth?"
Reshiram's voice echoed in her head. He's a liar. This world has no need for people like him.
Feigning to be in thought, Bianca hummed, her eyes still fixated on her father. Then she smiled again, a more sordid feel to it, she gently gave Reshiram a soft tap. With that, Reshiram lunged towards Bianca's father, flames in a flurry as he bit down hard on her father, his screams diminishing by the second, his blood staining Reshiram's fur.

You might be pleased to know I'm working on a general timeline of events for creams world up to the end of the darkest year (technically it's like half a year plus some but darkest year sounds better then darkest 8 months) so first event is way way back before hisui, the unown who made cream get inspired by that ancient hero you hear about in hisui, this is when they start working on cream, years later the hisui crisis happens, which is basically just legends arceus, and this is where the unown get more inspiration for cream via arezu, lots of other stuff happens but it's pretty much the same as I'm guessing canon, team rocket in Kanto happens first before the others, red taking Giovanni down and a few years later team rocket tries again in johto to find Giovanni and crystal takes them down (I think her name is crystal?? The female protagonist for the games, probably HeartGold SoulSilver) a while after that is when rose summons eternatus and successful controls it, making bank on this new infinite energy source, this is around two years? Before the darkest year, a year later team plasma shows up, this time using rose as evidence to catching pokemon bad as he caught eternatus and is basically using it as a battery, giving them a bit more popularity, even so they get defeated and a year later hell breaks loose in galar, the darkest year starts, interrupting that years champion tournament, Marnie was trying to compete this year as last year she couldn't get far for some reason, either she failed it or got kicked out that year for team yells thing, though considering how sports fans are I don't think she'd get kicked out, so she probably just fell short and decided to try again next year, not giving up, unfortunately this happens so tough luck Marnie, six months after it starts the unown notice nothing is happening to fix it and hurriedly throw cream down there with thumbs up unown to fix it, two months later cream has saved the region and rose is in jail for everything he did, that's the jist, though I'm unsure if I should put team aqua/magma in during the darkest year, making it harder for the international help to help galar as that's become a problem, or have that happen after
YOOO a timeline!! but also RIP to marnie’s career as a trainer in the league, we hardly knew ye 😔😔😔🙏🙏🙏🙏
hmmmm, honestly team magma and aqua could go anywhere and it would make sense -- if it’s either during or after the darkest 8 months (dklfsdkjf that’s such a funny term, I know year sounds cooler but the humor of that gets to me) then archie and maxie can still be like “LOOK SEE?? WE NEED TO MAKE THE WORLD BETTER FOR HUMANS BECAUSE THEY’RE SUFFERING AT THE WHIMS OF A POKEMON/POKEMON BECAUSE HUMANS MESS WITH THE BALANCE OF NATURE”
I think the crystal protagonist is called Kris?? I only went with Crystal in my comic because I named all of the heroes after the games specifically 😂😂😂
(more under the cut)
Tumblr media
OH A TEST FOR CREAM BY THE ORIGINAL HERO AND HOP.... VERY FUN

TM06:Toxic - How does someone get on your bad side?
TM36:Sludge Bomb - What insults do you use when pushed too far?
TM53:Energy Ball - What gets you pumped up?
Thanks for the question(s)!
TM06:Toxic: well, I'll list 3 things that i think are important, ordered by severity, sort of.
- obviously if you don't respect me as a person. Most common things are being transphobic/aphobic (or homophobic in general), or if people take offense at my appearance. I think this goes without saying...
- if people are unreasonable around Pokémon. No, poison types are not all evil, being in a Room with Coffee will not kill you. You should still be careful and not just go up and touch any Pokémon you see. They deserve respect.
- if you're a Team Plasma apologist... Get out. If you're a Team Plasma member... Run. Fast.
TM36:Sludge Bomb:
Thats a tricky one! I would have liked to be clever for that, but I'll probably just start swearing to all known legendaries, call people some mundane insults like a "fucking idiot" or something. I might start comparing them to Ghetsis or something if I'm really pissed off.
TM53:Energy Ball:
Thats a simple one though. Really good music, if I'm making it myself, it's better.
I apparently also get pretty loud if I'm watching an intense Pokémon Battle on TV. I'm kinda sad Roxie isn't broadcasting a lot of her fights, but she always was more of a Live-Performance person.

Finally finished pokemon white (beating alder. Twice actually bc I wasn’t satisfied w my first run through) and Hilda <3 in my heart she’s a grungy carabiner-utilizer who wears the same clothes until they’re no longer wearable. The first thing she bought for herself with her first league paycheck was get a classic pair of doc martens (also has freckles. Very important). extensive headcanons under the cut
In my head all the games events happened over the course of a little over a year (starting from late 2011 autumn/winter cusp to early 2013 winter/spring) though plasma was metaphorically poking the bear for years prior until it reached a boiling point, coincidentally just when she finally had the chance to have a fun road trip with her gf and mean gay bestie. (Cheren chasing plasma thru castelia city: LETS GO LESBIANS! RUNNING THROUGH CASTELIA WITH A PACK OF WILD LESBIANS)
has a tendency to be blunt to the point of rudeness. tries to stay in her lane, but will finish shit if you start it. short temper, but very devoted to her friends n family, love language is acts of service. perpetually tired feeling, resting bitch face, but has a fun streak her pokemon and younger cousins (foremost being nate) can easily draw out. worked on her family’s tepig farm prior to going out into the world from the time she was young and doing a short stint in customer service rather than physical labor changed her for the worse (people disregarding rules abt where they can and cant go in the barns, feeding the pokemon outside food, nearly falling in the pignite paddock etc etc) and lowered her patience reserves to near zero. ran track in high school, grew up going to tailgate parties and bonfires and drinking cheap beer someone’s older brother bought bc there’s nothing better to do. adventuring out in unova and being in The Nature really decreases her stress and makes her general demeanor much less agitated/snappish
gets a little better on the mildly judgemental but “that’s none of my business” thing she’s got going after the N/Ghetsis final fight; dual character development of N and Hilda learning that someone else’s different worldview/way of thinking isn’t inherently bad/weird. simultaneously embraces and resents hero of ideals status; embraces giving in to her desires and wants and getting involved in stuff because she wants to (eldest daughter syndrome/grew up in a financially challenged household so didn’t apply to any college or technical school bc she didn’t want to put any financial strain on the household), but resents being initially shoved into the position by N and eventually the league.
she also resents technically being hailed as champion after beating N (who was also technically champion) but the board of directors made a rule deciding champion titles awarded with legendaries don’t count due to their godlike abilities in battle and told her if she wants to count as champion she has to fight them again without zekrom. (words can’t describe how angry-indignant she was. you practically strongarm her into the position then tell her actually she doesn’t get the respect and benefits and dignity?? cheren’s ears were ringing)
i know some ppl headcanon her as kinda getting along with N during the game and trying to reason with him, but not this hilda. girl was down to kick ass from first impromptu battle. N has to trick her with a zoroark illusion to get him on that ferris wheel and she nearly socks him in the face for it. only until Ghetsis earns his #1 father of the year award does it really sink in oh wow this guy was actually just a tool his whole life
used a variety of pokemon early in journey, releasing some and trading others to less intensive trainers locally once they felt they reached a threshold of battling they weren’t comfortable with. most consistent pokemon she’s had with her are neidr the serperior, llyffant the seismitoad, and gantroed the scolipede, eventually joined by adar the archeops, ysbryd the jellicent, and minipete the emolga for the final VS N battle. felt immense pressure to have a “competitive” battle team after passing driftveil city, kinda had a breakdown, chilled out and stayed with the pokemon she had connections with.
however, does restructure her team post-Ghetsis bc one) very rough battle, long term recovery and two) realistically if she wants to continue battling professionally/competitively, she doesn’t want pokemon not interested in battling so intensely to get hurt. she adds 4 new pokemon to the party, keeping neidr and llyffant: tyranitar, galvantula, haxorus, hydreigon. her preferred pokemon are largely tanks, with neidr providing niche coverage (serperior moveset sucks in bw) and galvantula thunder waving and then volt switching. also thunder w compound eyes is based
full name is Hilda Gwynne, will tell you to call her Gwyn if she likes you. notorious lemonade lover. cheap shitty motel inhabitor. snowball fight enthusiast. twin sibling of hilbert (lives with his aunt in iccirus). father was a member of team rocket. thinks garbador is the coolest guy ever. went briefly diving in undella bay with and without cynthia, thinks it’s cursed and never wants to go back down. doesn’t know why shadow triad gave her the adamant + lustrous + griseous orbs and doesn’t want to find out, had them interred in dragonspiral tower in secret. the zekrom i got is defiant + bold natured which means xey’re nearly as stubborn as hilda and generally hostile to anyone she doesn’t explicitly like. when xey were still in dark stone form minipete (an emolga you can get via trade in mistralton) was practically entranced by it, constantly wanting to look at it, cheeks sparking whenever he touched it; now whenever xey’re sunbathing behind the barns, minipete’s the only one allowed to perch on xem. worked briefly with dr fennel, a pioneer in dream study and the entralink, and then did nothing else with that academic connection. thinks deerling are super cute. accidentally picked up a zorua in castelia city at some point and had looney toons shenanigans trying to get it home to lost woods. nickelback and carrie underwood fan. enjoys going mudding in her ma’s old pickup truck with the volume cranked up so high it rattles someone else’s car and still managing to holler loudly enough to be heard (she did a significant amount of this in the immediate aftermath of beating N as stress relief). can shout + pitch her voice real loud + deep. born during an early october snowstorm, has always had a fascination with storms of any kind. nicknames all her Pokémon in poke-welsh
mysteriously goes missing after leaving home to search for N; had semi-regularly with her mother and friends, but after being reportedly spotted around lacunosa town some time ago, seems to have vanished off the face of the earth except for three of her pokemon (archeops, scolipede, and emolga) found nearby, exhausted and nearly comatose, suffering extreme hypothermia despite being found during summertime.

on a scale of okay, to not okay.
Scarnoa is at the very end of okay, followed by Punch Baby Akari, Brie tilting closer to the middle, with Alolan Noa smack dab in the middle, and Sawyer being at the far, faaaar opposite end of Scarnoa, in NOT OKAY.
Sawyer kinda fucked up.
She’ll get better, but the sheer abuse this poor kid has GOT to go through is insane Even more so when you have me, deciding to go, “WHAT IF I...MAKE IT WORSE”
so spoilers, don’t check unless you wanna see it for Sawyer’s story (you can still ask questions about it tho *wink wonk*)
There is a reason behind the similarities between Sawyer and Touya, which extends to Touya’s mother. And it goes beyond just coincidence, but it’s...it’s VERY complicated.
And it ties back into the fact that Sawyer is very much on the run from Team Plasma.
Sawyer is actually Touya’s twin, separated from birth through a switch with a stillbirth that blurs the lines of coincidence and planned, because remember when I said that Alder is Touya’s father due to a weird writing quirk I have?
Still applies here.
Look at Ghetsis and his long-ass planning, and then Sawyer’s terrible luck and upbringing. Add to the fact that Sawyer was someone who is a dormant self insert that resurfaced during a severe poisoning, but before then, she always FELT something was off while being raised in Team Plasma. Always wanting to leave, never liking Ghetsis, and how that would’ve rubbed her adoptive parents the wrong way.
Anyways Sawyer is effectively a bargaining chip that managed to escape. Ghetsis is very much PISSED off, and would like her back. And while he tries to get N to coax her back, N is just ????? and continues to avoid doing so. (Sawyer got REALLY lucky here that she managed to catch N’s interest, in the same way that Touya did N when he first battled him. They may have not been rivals as in canon, but he lit the spark in N that caused him to rethink everything)
Despite everything, it’s actually rather heartwarming to see Sawyer interacting with Touya, his mom, and Alder. Almost bittersweet, as it reveals what could’ve been, but you better believe that Sawyer would’ve been welcomed into their family, regardless of her actual origins.
Side note: this does mean that Touya’s actual breaking point from his usual calm badge-collecting self (he isn’t particularly interested in Pokemon battles, but he does have fun and would like to meet up with Cheren on Victory Road eventually) is whenever Sawyer is in danger. He thoroughly whups every Team Plasma Grunt that tries anything on his watch. And even tries starting shit with N when he THINKS he’s trying to drag Sawyer back to Team Plasma.
Protective older brother. :V

Stupid assholes at my workplace steal Eeveelutions and nearly kill my boyfriend
Hey aunt Mary and uncle Charlie, It has been quite a week for me.
To start this off, You know those people that tried to steal Tommy’s Lillipup and Larvitar?
Well, What they did made me hate them even more.
To start this off, I have a boyfriend named Mark, He works alongside me and another male grunt named Thomas Karl, but we call him T.K.
I got Mark a Fire Stone for his 16th birthday which he used to evolve his female Eevee, his male Eevee evolved into Glaceon years before joining Team Plasma, Mark absolutely loves his new Flareon and was showing her to everybody including the sages and N, the ‘king of Team Plasma’
A day later, when Mark was playing with his Flareon and Glaceon, Cletus and Donna walked up to him, one of them began to rant how Mark was treating Flareina and Glaceino like toys and he should let them go because they’re better off in the wild and the other chimed in saying that Team Plasma is on a mission to liberate Pokémon all over Unova and he shouldn’t own rare Pokémon, Mark told them the twins weren’t toys and he loved them more than anything.
Donna then ordered her Frillish to use Constrict on Mark, T.K walked into them squeezing Mark, he ordered his Glameow to bite Frillish and Jellicent to stop them after Cletus snatched Glaceino and Flareina from Mark’s arms
Glaceino who is the more vicious of the twins used Ice Beam at point blank range on Cletus and his Deino.
The next day, Mark was asked to help tend to injured Pokémon, A friend of theirs was watching their rooms and Pokémon, He told me he saw Cletus and Donna come in and leave, he saw that Flareina and Glaceino were gone.
The next hour, Mark was frantically looking for his Eeveelutions, T.K caught them taking his Glameow out of his room, he punched Cletus, Mark was in tears by the time he found T.K
Now me and T.K aswell as several other grunts began desperately searching for his Eeveelutions, Mark ended up collapsing and a doctor had to be called (Mark was a survivor of domestic violence and has bad anxiety), we’re running around the castle looking for the twins, calling their names desperately.
Mark ends up in the infirmary, Annie, an older grunt kept in contact via text, Me and several others are frantic at this point, we know if we don’t find the twins or worse, find them dead, Mark may go downhill.
We were about to give up hope when Alicia, one of T.K’s friends and basically my upperclasswoman called me, it turns out Donna and Cletus had taken the twins to a room designated for Pokémon healthy enough to be released to the wild, she didn’t see them turn them in but recognized them as she has seen Mark with them and was able to get T.K down here to claim ownership of the Eevees.
There’s a disciplinary hearing for stolen property and the harm this did to Mark, The icing on the cake was when Ghetsis (the tall green-haired man I work with) and Giallo (Donna and Cletus’ commanding sage) asked them why they did it, their claim was:
“Because they can devote themselves to liberating Pokémon all over Unova without those rare Pokémon that they shouldn’t have!”
Donna has actually called T.K’s Glameow and Mark’s Eevee twins “horrible creatures” and even said to Alicia.
Fuck these two, They’re nothing but entitled assholes who think they’re worth fucking everything because they ‘liberated’ the very first Pokémon by Team Plasma.
Update
Mark is doing fine, he’s woken up thankfully, I’ve been taking care of him and telling him to take it easy.
The doctor that arrived here had to run a ton of tests, stress tests, blood tests, ECGs, etc, etc, he told Ghetsis and Rood that the stress caused ‘broken heart syndrome’, which Mark is on medication for so it doesn’t happen again, The twins aren’t going near any other grunt other than me, Mark and T.K, T.K’s Glameow even won’t let anyone lift him.
Ghetsis asked if this could have killed Mark, the doctor said yes much to the horror of everyone, he said it was very close to a heart attack which is scary, Mark’s been traumatized by the whole ordeal.
Ghetsis and Giallo are also investigating fraud as Alicia told them when they were turning them in when she was looking at the release documents for that day, they SIGNED Mark’s name so there’s extra disciplinary action for fraudulent behavior.
Cletus and Donna have absolutely no remorse that their actions could have potentially killed Mark….
Ghetsis looked like he had to restrain himself when they told him their reasonings and the fact their actions triggered ‘broken heart syndrome’.

Unit Teambuilding - BP Candice
Oh hey, an F2P Ice-type striker that’s not Pryce, thank god.  And I have someone to give the 4* Strike candy to! Thank god, I have like 14 of the damned things.
General Overview Hail setter as a striker.  I find this weird, but I’ll take it.  Candice has Blizzard as the damaging move, access to Dire Hit+ and a trainer move that can buff special attack, accuracy, and adds evasion under hail.  Evasion is interesting.  It’s really only useful for her move damage; if you’re focused on sync...for some reason as a Striker without EX benefits, you don’t need it.  Everything there is Hail and on-type.  Personally, I think her best utility is her move damage.  20% freeze chance and pretty solid move damage under Hail in an AoE attack is nice.
The main problem this Candice runs into is that she’s not as good as her base form.  Abomasnow has a very smooth playstyle that synergizes perfectly into her fantastic sync nuke.  This Candice takes time to set up, needs specific support, needs Hail up from start to finish to succeed, and I just realized doesn’t even have Hail MPR.  Move Damage is better, Blizzard is definitely nice, but it’s not quite sufficient to make Froslass stand out.
Team 1: BP Candice, BP Janine, Lucian/Bede/Tech Lapras BP Janine feels made for BP Candice.  The special attack/speed/evasion buffs are like ideal on every level.  Team Sharp Entry saves Candice a turn of buffing.  All she really needs after that is debuffing of special defense of foes, and Candice can perform admirably.  If you really need another Hail setter, you can bring in Tech Lapras.
Team 2: BP Candice, Pryce/Ghetsis, BP Janine Will I stop recommending BP Janine?  No.  Anyway, this is stupid, but I think it checks out thanks to Janine’s speed buffs.  Pryce isn’t particularly great, but he does have Freeze Synergy 16, and Candice has Hostile Environment on AoE.  It’s not a good chance, but for a double-Ice damage comp, it’s something.  As an alternative, Ghetsis.  Ghetsis also appreciates a lot of Janine’s tools, and is able to debuff offenses of the foe.   This isn’t always super significant, but what it does do is allow Candice to survive hits.
Final Thoughts Candice is straight-forward in her approach.  You buff until you’re ready, then throw out Blizzard spam.  Some among you may be wondering hey, isn’t Palentine’s Bea good here?  No.  Bea doesn’t buff defenses for her allies, and Candice would need two uses of Trainer Move to get the needed evasion, which is redundant with the +4.  So Bea, despite being a Hail support, is literally worse off than BP Janine here.  Get absolutely fucked, idiot.
But, Candice must also be mocked, because Ghetsis exists.  And Glaciate is pretty much always going to be stronger than Blizzard, and even acquires a better freeze rate with Cold Snap 2, which would hit every foe at once if it activated unlike Hostile Environment being separate rolls.  So that’s sad.  Candice is sad.
