Amplify Your Faith: The Power of Listening to God's Word

Colossians 3:16 Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom; teaching and admonishing one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with grace in your hearts to the Lord.
Christian Journey
In the spiritual journey of a Christian, one of the most vital yet often overlooked aspects is the art of listening to the word of the Lord. The passage from Colossians 3:16 reminds us that being a Christian isn't limited to the sporadic attendance of church services or the occasional upliftment we feel when we do so. True Christianity transcends mere physical presence in a place of worship; it is rooted in a profound relationship with the Lord Jesus Christ, acknowledging ourselves as His children, and earnestly following His divine will.
Relationship
It is all too easy for us to fall into the trap of complacency, assuming that our faith is sufficient merely because we attend church services regularly. However, as the Scripture teaches us, true Christianity goes beyond these outward rituals. It calls us to accept the Lord into our hearts, with an intimate bond with Him, and dedicate ourselves to walk in His righteous path. The key to this profound relationship lies in our willingness to listen. The verse encourages us to 'Keep on reading, listen with your heart, and be willing to follow what God is saying.' This entails a deep commitment to regularly engaging with the Word of God, not as a mere exercise but as a profound spiritual practice. Through the act of listening to God's Word, we open our hearts to His wisdom, His guidance, and His transformative power.
His Words
As we immerse ourselves in His Word, we find ourselves being shaped and refined by its divine wisdom. We are corrected when we err, instructed when we falter and strengthened when we are weak. God's Word is not bound by the limitations of human wisdom; it transcends our understanding, offering insights and guidance that can only be grasped through a heart attuned to Him. In a world teeming with distractions and noise, it can be challenging to truly listen to the voice of God. However, it is precisely in this act of deep listening that our faith finds its nourishment and our purpose becomes clear. By continually immersing ourselves in the Word of God, we equip ourselves to fulfill His purpose in our lives, to grow in faith, and to walk in His righteous ways.
Conclusion
In conclusion, the words of Colossians 3:16 serve as a poignant reminder of the profound importance of listening to the word of God. True Christianity is not defined by external rituals but by an intimate relationship with our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. It is a journey of continual listening, learning, and growing in faith. As we absorb His wisdom and guidance through His Word, we discover that God's words are indeed far beyond human wisdom, offering us a divine perspective that illuminates our path and strengthens our faith.
Remember these bible verses:
Colossians 2:6-7 As ye have therefore received Christ Jesus the Lord, so walk ye in him: Rooted and built up in him, and stablished in the faith, as ye have been taught, abounding therein with thanksgiving. Romans 10:17 So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God. Joshua 1:8 This book of the law shall not depart out of thy mouth; but thou shalt meditate therein day and night, that thou mayest observe to do according to all that is written therein: for then thou shalt make thy way prosperous, and then thou shalt have good success. Matthew 4:4 But he answered and said, It is written, Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of God. 2 Timothy 3:16-17 All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness: That the man of God may be perfect, throughly furnished unto all good works. 2 Peter 3:18 But grow in grace, and in the knowledge of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. To him be glory both now and for ever. Amen. Read the full article

Mankind: A Channel for God's Power
God has to channel that authority through His children on the earth. He says, "I've ordained it to work this way. Out of their mouths I have ordained strength to still the avenger."
God took the image that was inside of Him and spoke it out. When you get an image of how God sees you, begin to voice it. As you continue to speak in line with His Word, you will be perfecting that image.
God used His words to bring the image into manifestation. He filled His words with the spiritual force of faith, then used those words as containers to carry His faith into the vast nothingness to give substance to that image.
Even though He was looking at darkness, God conveyed an image of light. He took His words and framed the world. The Word is what created the world. (Heb. 11:3.)
The image inside you is produced by words and also released in words. God's Word causes faith to come, then faith-filled words perfect the image. Words release the image and give substance to it. It is a complete cycle.
When you speak what you believe, you believe what you speak. The more you believe it, the more you say it. The more you say it, the more you believe it. That image is perfected in you. The more it comes and goes through that cycle, the stronger it becomes in you.
That's why it is so important to confess God'sWord: say what God says about you instead of what the devil says. If you quote what the devil says, it will create the image of what he wants to happen inside you. Remember fear-filled words produce fear. Faith-filled words produce faith☕️Charles Capps

His mercies are new every morning
“The steadfast love of the Lord never ceases; His mercies never come to an end; they are new every morning; great is your faithfulness.” (Lamentations 3:22-23)
How wonderful is it and how blessed are we that God’s Mercy never ever ceases?
I often use words such as unfailing; unending; unstoppable when speaking of God and His Promises.
But I don’t say them just to say them, they’re FACTS!
The Bible tells us of all God has promised to us from the beginning of time. Two of my favorites are:
His Love, forgiveness, and mercy will never end
He will never leave us but will always be with us
What’s even more comforting and reassuring (and God knows He has to reassure us often since our emotions go up and down and we sometimes feel like what we’ve done can never be forgiven—even by Him) is that His promises are unfailing; unending; unstoppable!
Here are some of the countless verses in which the Bible reminds us of God’s Promises:
Psalm 136
“The Lord will fight for you; you need only to be still.” (Exodus 14:14)
“The Lord himself goes before you and will be with you; he will never leave you nor forsake you. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged.” (Deuteronomy 31:8)
“I know that you can do all things; no purpose of yours can be thwarted.” (Job 42:2)
“No man shall be able to stand before you all the days of your life. Just as I was with Moses, so I will be with you. I will not leave you or forsake you.” (Joshua 1:5)
“Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged, for the Lord your God will be with you wherever you go.” (Joshua 1:9)
“Not one word of all the good promises that the LORD had made to the house of Israel had failed; all came to pass.” (Joshua 21:45)
“I will be his father, and he will be my son. When he does wrong, I will punish him with a rod wielded by men, with floggings inflicted by human hands. But my love will never be taken away from him, as I took it away from Saul, whom I removed from before you. (2 Samuel 7:14-15)
“Who is this King of glory? The Lord strong and mighty, the Lord mighty in battle. (Psalm 24:8)
“For the word of the Lord is right and true; he is faithful in all he does.” (Psalm 33:4)
“He has not dealt with us according to our sins, nor punished us according to our iniquities. For as the heavens are high above the earth, so great is His mercy toward those who fear Him; as far as the east is from the west, so far has He removed our transgressions from us.” (Psalm 103:10-12)
“If You, Lord, should mark iniquities, O Lord, who could stand? But there is forgiveness with You, that You may be feared.” (Psalm 130:3-4)
"The grass withers and the flowers fall, but the word of our God endures forever." (Isaiah 40:8)
“So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.” (Isaiah 41:10)
“I, even I, am He who blots out your transgressions for My own sake; and I will not remember your sins.” (Isaiah 43:25)
"Heaven and earth will pass away, but my words will never pass away." (Matthew 24:35)
“Teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you. And behold, I am with you always, to the end of the age.” (Matthew 28:20)
“For the word of God will never fail.” (Luke 1:37)
“If we are faithless, He remains faithful—for he cannot deny himself.” (2 Timothy 2:13)
“Never will I leave you; never will I forsake you.” (Hebrews 13:5)
Not to mention the promises God made to Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob!
And He promised David would always have one of his descendants be
We can rest assured our God is good, all the time; and all the time our God is good. And He is always with us, forgiving us when we turn away from our sins and return to Him.
His Love is forever and ever and ever!
Thank You, Lord, for your unfailing, unending, unstoppable promises!

#DailyDevotion Blessed Are You When You Delight & Meditate On God's Word

#DailyDevotion Blessed Are You When You Delight & Meditate On God's Word Psalm 1: 2but delights in what the LORD teaches and reads it thoughtfully day and night. 3He's like a tree planted by streams of water: It produces its fruit in its season, and its leaves don't wither. He succeeds in everything he does. Blessed is the man the psalm starts. Now in verse two we see what such a blessed does as opposed to what he doesn't do. He delights in the Torah, i.e. the teachings of the LORD and reads it thoughtfully day and night. I was told a joke about a pastor who visited a couple and after the pastor left the wife told her husband she thought he stole the silver spoon he had used during the visit. A year later the pastor visited again to find out how they were doing and the wife accused him of stealing her spoon. He told her he didn't steal it. He hid it in her bible. Well if we are reading the scriptures day and night, we won't be that husband and wife. If we are delighting in the written word of the LORD day and night, we won't be that couple who didn't find the hidden spoon. But note not only are we to read it day and night but we are to read it thoughtfully. We ponder what it says and what it means. How does what it says correct my thinking or behavior? Does what it says impact on what I talk about? How does it help me better understand what my God thinks about me and his attitude towards me? Are there things I need to start doing that I'm not doing? We should read it out loud so our ears can hear it and our minds hear it. We do think about things differently when we say it out loud. Do we delight in the teachings of the LORD? Is it a chore to spend some time in God's word? Or do we take up like an old friend who we like catching up on? There's a reason Christians have always tried to produce a literate society: we want people to be able to read God's word. Blessed are you if you delight in reading it. Sure, there may be things you don't understand. I have trouble understanding some people I like hanging around with though. They think differently than me. I have to ask questions because their way of thinking is a lot different than mine. And God's thoughts are higher than our thoughts and his ways higher than our ways. But if we read his word and contemplate on it, discuss it with ourselves and even discuss it with others, we will gain insight into the mind of God. What will we be like if we do this? David says, we will be like a tree planted by streams of water. That tree produces fruit in its season. It's leaves don't wither. He succeeds in everything he does. Who does that? Jesus Christ of Nazareth. Yes, this is fulfilled in Jesus. He has done this for us. Yet, he calls us to be joined to him and join him in delighting in the instructions of the LORD. We may not do it perfectly, but he will produce fruit in us if we trust his word and take up his practice. Trees planted by streams of water have strong roots that suck up the water and nutrients around it. As we delight and meditate on the Word of God, we too will have strong roots that will produce in us every spiritual fruit. Jesus reminds us in Matt. 7, 24“Anyone who hears and does what I say is like a man who had the sense to build his house on a rock. 25The rain poured down, the torrents came, the winds blew, and they beat against that house. But it didn't go down, because its foundation was on the rock.” We will not be so easily moved when life and the devil throw their worst at us or their best. Our roots, our hearts and minds, are grounded in God's Word. As Jesus succeeded in what he did, accomplishing our salvation, we will succeed, as we delight and meditate on God's Word, in being saved for that gives us faith in our Savior, Jesus Christ. Merciful and gracious Father, give us your Holy Spirit that we we pick up your Word, we may delight in it, meditate on it, and bear the fruits of the Spirit, as our faith in Christ Jesus is strengthened and formed according to your will. In Jesus' name we pray. Amen. Read the full article

These chapters narrate the tragic ending of some Israelites. The Promise Land was within their reach, years of wandering was almost put to an end but because of their cowardice, they lost the blessing of inhabiting the land that God already gave to and conquered for them. They shuddered at the thought of battling with the groups that resided in the Promise Land. Rather than focusing on the Lord Who had triumphed every battle for them, they focused on the negative reports.
Sometimes,we can be like the Israelites. We focus too much on the unpleasant and the unknown, making us lose sight of what’s ahead. Doubts and fear cloud our minds which overshadow the many battles God has fought for us. If we want God’s best, we shouldn’t dwell and wallow in our worries, insecurities and anxiety (Phil.4:6-8). God wants us to finish strong because He doesn’t want us to miss out on all the blessings and opportunities that He has already prepared for each on of us. What we are going through is God’s way of preparing us for what we’ve been praying for. His process of molding, training and equipping us should be valued more than the blessings that await us because it is in the process that we get to see and experience more of God’s power guiding and sustaining us.

Jesus is our bridge, connecting us to Abba
When God created the world and made Adam and Eve, He lived among them and His Creation was perfect. Once they disobeyed Him, sin was born. It broke the perfection God intended from the start. It separated us from Him.
But He never ever stopped being their Father who loves and created them (and us).
Adam and Eve separated us from God but Jesus brings us back to God.
As a bridge closes the gap between two places, Jesus and His Sacrifice close the gap between us and God, connecting us to Him.
Jesus willingly came down from Heaven and was born of the Virgin Mary as a man—The Son of Man—to connect and relate to us. He was born human and grew up in a loving family and experienced life as we do. Day to day life in our world is something He already knew but now we can relate to Him. He connects us to Himself.
“But as many, as received Him, to them He gave the right to become children of God, even to those who believe in His name, who were born, not of blood nor of the will of the flesh nor of the will of man, but of God.” (John 1:12-13 NASB)
“For of His fullness we have all received, and grace upon grace.” (John 1:16 NASB)
We know He fully understands what we feel and why we feel the way we do. We believe He came down from Heaven to save us from a harsh world. He endured the harshest punishment, which we deserved. He was sinless but bore all our sins. God sent Him to take our place and unite us to Himself.
To forgive; to save us.
"Therefore the Lord Himself will give you a sign: Behold, a virgin will be with child and bear a son, and she will call His name Immanuel.” (Isaiah 7:14)
“And the Word became flesh, and dwelt among us, and we saw His glory, glory as of the only begotten from the Father, full of grace and truth.” (John 1:14)
He is our Way to the Father. As God’s One and Only Son He opens His Arms to welcome us as God’s Children. We can now call on GOD as Abba, Father as Jesus did when He prayed in the garden of Gethsemane…
“Abba, Father,” he said, “everything is possible for you. Take this cup from me. Yet not what I will, but what you will.” (Mark 14:36)
“Jesus answered, ‘I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.’” (John 14:6)
Jesus is the most perfect example of God’s Agape Love for us.

#DailyDevotion Put On God's Armor Today

#DailyDevotion Put On God's Armor Today Eph. 6:14-17 14Stand, then, with truth as a belt fastened around your waist, with righteousness covering you as a breastplate, 15and with shoes on your feet, ready to bring the good news of peace. 16Besides all these, take faith as the shield with which you can put out all the flaming arrows of the evil one. 17And take salvation as your helmet, and the Spirit's sword, which is God's Word. Now Paul goes into some metaphorical language to describe the full armor of God using the language of most likely the well known Roman soldier. If you are a Roman soldier you need a belt, a breastplate, shoes, a shield, a helmet and a sword to engage in battle. Some people like to distinguish between offensive items and defensive items. There is some truth to that, but I would not make too big a deal of that. So we have the belt. Paul says we should stand then (remember we're just standing after all the devil's assaults) with truth as a belt. Now a belt holds all your clothing together. It also hold some of your weapons until read for use. The truth of course is that which we know from God's Word. His truth holds us together and keeps things in place as we engage the enemy. Breastplates keeps the enemies strikes against you, whether hand or sword, from penetrating you skin and puncturing your vital organs. Whose righteousness is our breastplate? Well this is God's armor so it is God's righteousness. When the enemy is accusing you of your sins to tear you away from the LORD, to kill your faith, remember it is with the righteousness of our LORD Jesus Christ we stand before God in judgment. If we can remember that, the enemies accusations cannot penetrate our hearts. Shoes protect your feet. The good news of peace is what we bring to others and it protects our way as we go. That good news of peace is Christ Jesus is our peace between God and man. Jesus is the propitiation, that which removes God's wrath from us. God no longer counts our trespasses against us for the sake of Jesus. This is good news for us and good news to those we bring it to. A soldiers feet brings them into enemy territory. When we bring the good news of peace, we are making inroads into the enemies territory and claiming new ground. A shield protects against sword, spear and arrows. Faith is compared to a shield that can put out the enemies flaming arrows. These arrows could be temptations or accusations. Faith that God loves us and takes care of us for Christ's sake keeps at bay many temptations. The devil always wants us to believe God his holding back on us good stuff. Faith says God provides me with daily bread, every good thing I need for today. Usually, there is a God pleasing way to acquire what we desire. Faith says, take that path. The devil always wants to short cut which is harmful to us and others. If you believe God provides for you as you need it, you will not fall into temptation. Salvation is our helmet which further protects from the attacks of the adversary. Trusting we are saved guards our minds into thinking evil of our maker and Father. Finally, the Spirit's sword is the Word of God. With it we rightly distinguish law and gospel and apply either according to the need. With God's Word we attack the enemy proclaiming the truth of Jesus Christ and his salvation, freeing men from the devil's tyranny over them. Heavenly Father, grant us your armor so we may stand against all the attacks of the evil one and win back for you those under his power. In Jesus' name we pray. Amen. Read the full article
