from what i understand, AI art is good/useful for the following things
fun and memes! No one profiting, just goofs.
generating references which can then be given to artists/designers who are paid money to bring the concept to life properly (even if the job for the artist is just making a better reference. the idea is to use it as a tool for someone who for any reason is having trouble using words to describe what they want and the AI is assisting them). Its like using those online dollmakers to make refs for OCs.
Probably an offshoot of #2 which is just personal use like idk you wanted to funky looking monster ref for a dnd game or similar personal non-profit and google images failed you
Things it is bad for/reasons it is bad:
It is using people's art without permission/credit/payment. All AI generators should be trained only public domain content or content that the creator consented to be used.
One shouldnt call it art and get paid for the content they create with it. (basically what youve done is make a collage with digital magazine cutouts but magazines are public content and were paid for and shiz)
ALso dont give your own faces to any AI generator holy crap. but it is funny to see people putting politicians into the anime AI thing. This isnt a "Reason its bad" because this isnt about the art aspect anymore its about privacy/protecting yourself!!!

I'm not having there be Christmas in Ozymanzous there's gonna be Harvest because I think Thanksgiving is better than Christmas from a medieval stand point. It might happen in October or something IDK when harvests happened. I'm doing that conservative-seeming thing of looking back in the past like "those were the good times when winter was cold as balls" literally 1. cows are dying in summertime 2. trees are blooming in december. which is doubly stupid becasue that's the Beginning of winter plants should know better that frost can happen later on just becuase it was in the 80's doesn't mean... that it won't get colder later?? because it will it gets to 30 here in the actual winter-time part of winter not just the soltice. COME ON plants. Anyways the thing about cows is you can't exactly take them to the movies to cool off. However, swimming in a "natural behavior" for them so maybe farmers could start putting ponds on their property (very expensive) and let the cows goof off (instead of eating or producing) instead of calling the vet (expensive) when they are sick from being bred to survive winters but not summers. I'm sure farmers are breeding them to be cooler. What's funny about cows is they already look like they should perfer heat. They have such short fur, like a chihuahua, and long ears like a xolo dog. They seem to have loose skin but actually I've never met a cow.
Tumblr media
(ID: An illustration watermarked FindingDulcinea of 3 cows sitting in a pond with autumn leaves behind them. They look very serious yet cute, end id.) Actually is this AI generated what up with that one's eyes?
Anyways they're also having a day where you can visit the ghosts of your deceased loved ones which I was gonna put on Christmas before I decided to move it. But only Enalore does it because Kouragra is in the cult of whatsitsface. Kouragra is mean about it because the ghosts are always wearing the same outfit etc. etc. Kouragra would need it more since he says his mother died and all Enalore has is, like, great-great-great grandparents since Drow live 250 years (but don't have babies very often. Which I might change somehow. I feel like if you have bad fertility rates you would always be having unplanned progencies and that might affect how the kids are raised (for example in poverty or bitterly/unwanted) maybe they go through heats every 15 years. Even then that's a big family. I don't think fantasy characters should mature more slowly than humans (ei a human is grown up at 25, so an elf is mature at 62.5. No, especially since in the Bible humans like Moses lived 200 years. So MAYBE elves are a coupel years late. To get conservative again, kids weren't having their period so early in the old days, I don't remember why. Hmm, google says it's because girls are fatter/eat better, that kind of does fit since I made Enalore afraid to eat medival meat meanwhile Kouragra is innovating storage methods for cannibalism.
I was gonna have them have different birthdays like your 32nd birthday the party is hosted by your mom, 33 is your best friend, 34 is your sister. And so probably the ghost day is like that. The birthday thing means Enalore's family might barge in more often.

SIDETRACKED with TGT
Welcome to Sidetracked, the periodical internet show where instead of doing important things, I get sucked down an internet rabbit hole for heavens knows how long. Might as well document my findings/incomitance to focus on tasks.
In this episode: an odd phonetic connection between the popular internet game Among Us and a filmmaker of an anti-Semitic Nazi propaganda film from Nazi Germany, the bizarre articles that came from trying to cover the topic— and the journey to accidentally debunking the source of the connection.
First, please watch this. It’s the thing that started this whole escapade.
Apparently, Amon Gus was the pseudonym* (put a pin in that) of the German filmmaker Wolfgang Staudte, who wrote and directed the 1946 film The Murderers Are Among Us (that was obviously anti-Nazi, by the way) and was involved in the filming of the aforementioned propaganda film, Jud Süß, which is stylized in the theater poster as "Jud Süss."
The Murderers Are Among Us was a romance-thriller about a Nazi concentration camp survivor and an ex-soldier struggling with the traumas of WWII. Jud Süß, by contrast, is considered "one of the most notorious and successful pieces of anti-Semitic film propaganda produced in Nazi Germany." One could easily gather (as the Wikipedia article does) that Staudte was perhaps trying to right his wrongs by making a film that was against the ideology he felt guilty for perpetuating. Or perhaps that was a cover-up and he still was a Nazi. It's impossible to truly know.
As of yet, I have not found any conclusive that Staudte actually used Amon Gus as a pseudonym or if that was just fabricated for the joke. Any sources I find gloss over the connection between the two names.
This leads us to the articles that appear to be trying to document this connection, except they're doing it in a way that feels like they're aliens that are trying to disguise as journalists but have absolutely no idea what humans actually care about or even what facts are. One such article from the website ridzeal.com is titled Amon Gus Person Who is Amon Gus Person? Here is an excerpt from the article:
“As of now, the author retains all of his information confidential. We can Not offer much info about his era. He might be 50-60years old as of today. He is not there on any societal media website. No information about his family, wife, kids, parents could be viewed anywhere.”
For context, Wolfgang Staudte died in 1984 at the age of 77.
While reading this, the writing really reminded me of the famous Does Bruno Mars is Gay article, which was evidently written by artificial intelligence. Considering this, it is very likely that ridzeal.com is a site written exclusively by artificial intelligence. Looking at their main page shows many headlines with English ranging from slightly-off to broken, such as “How to Wear a Leather Kilt?“ and “Bestiken Com Reviews Is Bestiken com Legit or Scam?“ All of these are being put out at a fairly rapid pace (multiple a day it seems) and in multiple languages (with no sorting by language, mind you).
There’s nothing on ridzeal.com that shows it’s managed by AI. They have a submission section, so I decided to ask them “Are your articles made by artificial intelligence? Because they really seem like it.” I guess we’ll see if they respond.
Upon further inspection, there were even more articles similar to this, two that even seem to copy each other. Here’s the website that appears to be the original source and a celebrity birthday/height/weight website that copied that (incorrect) information.
Here’s that picture they used:
Tumblr media
Isn’t he handsome?
Yeah, that’s not Amon Gus. A quick reverse-image search shows that’s the German author Karl May, who died in March 1912 at 70, five and a half years after Wolfgang Staudte was born.
Here he is on the cover of his book Leben, Werk, Wirkung (which according to Google Translate means “Like, Work, Effect”):
Tumblr media
So handsome...
So, is Amon Gus a real person? Maybe, but it’s unlikely. It could be a goof by an AI trying to find new material. Or a fabrication to make a meme. Who knows? I certainly don’t.
Murderer Is Amogus and Jew Sus is still funny though.
And thus concludes my endurance to go further down the rabbit hole as well as tonight’s episode of Sidetracked. I’ve been your host TGT, and remember kids: Check your sources.

hina ~ mohyo
after talking about having another baby, they agreed to start trying a month later.
they had struggled a bit when they had decided to have a baby the first time. it had been stressful and they both thought there was something wrong with the other. it was so stressful, and momo hated seeing jihyo’s heartbreak everytime the test was negative. she felt like it was her fault.
so when they finally had ai, it was so meaningful. they both cried when the test was positive. they both cried when they saw ai on the ultrasound for the first time. they cried when she was born. they absolutely adored every second of ai’s existence.
and then they had eunji. it was much easier for them to conceive eunji. the doctor said it was because they weren’t stressed about it. they knew they wanted to have a second but they never felt like there was an intense pressure to have eunji like there was with ai.
with the third baby however, the pressure was back. it all started with one failed pregnancy test and kept spiraling. it was the same as the cycle they had with ai. they would try to forget the pressure and just let it happen and then when the test was negative they felt more stressed. it was unhealthy and infuriating.
so when dahyun told them she was pregnant with her third baby, they didn’t take it very well. not in front of dahyun of course in front of dahyun they were all smiles, but when they were alone at night they both couldn’t help the frustration they felt. they were trying so hard, and dahyun had done it completely by accident. of course they felt angry about that.
it left them both with a bitter taste and their mouth. they agreed to just stop for a bit. they loved their friends, and they hated the fact they were angry. it wasn’t fair to dahyun and chaeyoung, and it wasn’t fair to themselves.
and that seemed to do the trick. that was what they needed. they needed to take all the pressure off themselves, they needed to take a step back and calm down. momo wrapped up the test a beautiful box and gifted it to jihyo over date night.
“momo...” jihyo cries when she saw it. “thank you.” jihyo stood your to give her wife a hug.
“of course.” momo nodded. “so, this time, can we name the baby boo?”
“momo... we talked about this.” jihyo giggled.
“can we get a dog now?”
“no! we talked about this!”
“i promise i won’t try to name the baby boo if you let me get a dog!” momo tried to argue.
“no!” jihyo couldn’t but laugh. she loved her goof of a wife so much.
xx
“mommy play with me?”
“in a second eunji, mommy doesn’t feel great.” momo groaned, unable to get out of bed due to her headache.
“why not?” eunji whined. “please?”
“play with your sister for a bit okay?” momo asked, sighing when eunji ran out of the bedroom. jihyo sighed when momo came out of the bathroom and into their bedroom.
“still not feeling good?”
“i want to play with her. it hurts me to say no.” momo explained. “i want to tell her why too.”
“we can tell them tonight.” jihyo crawled into the bed to give momo a short kiss. “i’ll see you after work?”
“yeah. i have acquired many personal days at work and i am going to use all of them starting now.” momo groaned.
momo spent the whole day in bed. her heard hurt and she felt sick, but she didn’t have a fever so she knew it was just a bad case of morning sickness. with her job it was nearly impossible for her work when my she was pregnant, so she took a pretty early maternity leave. she wasn’t going to risk anything with the baby. they had worked so hard to conceive it. when jihyo finally got the kids home eunji handed her a get well soon card. her heart melted and she had jihyo both agreed it was time to tell the girls the truth.
“girls, the reason mommy wasn’t feeling well today is... well you guys are going to have another little sibling.”
“woah really?!” ai’s eyes were sparkling at the confession.
“yay! i won’t be the youngest!” eunji giggled. “can they come soon?”
“they are still seven months away from coming baby.” momo giggled.
“aww.” ai whined. “is it a boy or girl?”
“we will find out soon.” jihyo explained. “for now you can just call them baby.”
“okay.” eunji stepped forward and put her face to momo’s stomach. “hi baby! it’s eunji unnie and ai unnie!”
“yeah hi! we can’t wait to meet you.” jihyo almost cried at how cute they were. she loved her little family so much.
xx
jihyo was the type who liked to pick out the babies name pretty early into the pregnancy. she wanted to be prepared, and she felt the name was important.
when they found out they were having another girl, everyone was really happy. even though jihyo had entertained the thought of having a son she had baby sat nayeon’s enough to want another girl. eunji and ai had a bet, and because it was a girl ai had to do eunji’s chores for a week. jihyo was almost proud of how eunji came up with that, because when she asked what eunji had to do for ai if she lost eunji just shrugged and said candy. eunji clearly got more out of the deal than ai.
“so what do you want to name her?” jihyo asked, playing with momo’s hair while she rested her head in her lap.
“boo!” momo giggled.
“no!” jihyo protested. “be seroius. i think she should have a japanese name like ai.”
“she doesn’t need to have a japanese name jihyo.” momo nodded. “i’m okay with her having a korean name.”
“no i want her to have one. they have my last name but they are still half japanese. park eunji is like the most korean name i can think of, it’s your turn.” jihyo nodded.
“okay... well... let’s think. how did we name ai?”
“easy, you named her before we even knew we were having a girl. you wanted her to be named ai because she was our love at the time. we worked so hard to make her and so we loved her a lot.” jihyo explained. “at least that’s what i got from your explanation.”
“your right.” momo nodded. “but i’m out of ideas for this one.”
“what about something like sakura? cherry blossoms are pretty.” jihyo suggested.
“too basic.”
“natsu? like summer?”
“her due date is in december.” momo laughed. “i don’t think it apporiate to name her after summer.”
“it could be ironic?” jihyo shrugged. “what about kaori?”
“where did you learn all these names from?” momo giggled.
“i googled a list of cute japanese girl names.” jihyo laughed. “they had meaning attached.”
“yeah they are all super common names. though i guess ai isn’t that rare either.” momo reasoned. “keep suggesting this is fun.”
“hikari?”
“nah too hard for your korean family to say. besides park hikari? that doesn’t really sound right to me.”
“okay uh how about hina?”
“i have always liked the name hina.” momo nodded. “short and cute. i think that would work. what do you think?”
“hina was my favorite one on the list.” jihyo nodded. “i didn’t want to say my favorite first.”
“well it’s my favorite too.” momo smiled.
“well then, welcome to the family park hina.”
xx
the day hina was born was, interesting. momo has gone into labor in the middle of the night, and jihyo had to find a last minute place for ai and eunji to stay. hina was born almost a month early. momo’s due date was december 29th and she went into labor on december first. jihyo was stressed, because of course she was stressed the baby was a month early and they had nothing planned. but they were able to get nayeon and jeongyeon to watch ai and eunji and jihyo took an emergency day off work for their baby.
hina was tiny and underweight, but other than that perfectly healthy. they of course needed to keep her for observation but that they shouldn’t worry. it didn’t stop jihyo from worrying but with hina in her arms she didn’t worry about anything. nayeon had brought ai and eunji after jihyo had texted her hina had been born. the two instnalty ran to momo asking to see her, her just pointing to jihyo.
“she’s so tiny!” ai giggled.
“yeah so small.” eunji looked her new little sister in the eyes. “and cute.”
“hi hina. i’m ai unnie.” ai introduced.
“and i’m eunji unnie.” eunji smiled at hina. “i can’t wait to be your big sister hina.”
“can we hold her?” ai asked jihyo.
“no. we don’t want hina getting hurt or anything she’s fragile. i promise you can hold her when she’s a little bigger okay?” jihyo suggested.
“okay.” hina let out a whine and everyone in the rooms heart melted at the sound. hina was perfect for them.
after ai and eunji had exhausted themselves out cooing over hina jihyo player hina back on momo’s chest.
“you feeling okay?” jihyo asked.
“yeah i’m good. the pain medicine is pretty strong.” momo laughed. “seriously.”
“thank you so much.” jihyo nodded. “i love you so much.”
“i love you too.” momo closed her eyes as jihyo gave her a short kiss. “for now and forever.”
“for now and forever.”

sorry 2 bother but i gotta know..... who is gordon.... who is coomer.. whats going on
Not a bother at all! Gordon is Gordon Freeman, the main character from the Half Life series, and Dr. Coomer an implied character in the main series (his name is just an easter egg- I've learned it's the last name of a dude who worked on the games from my frantic googling lmao)
HOWEVER
Coomer plays a...bit of a larger role in "Half Life VR but the AI is Self Aware" which is a let's play series done by WayneRadioTV! Which is why I've been posting abt them as much as I have been. The series is super funny and all on youtube - it's a fun quarantine watch and I like to leave it running for the good good goofs while I'm drawing and stuff.

5,000 question survey series--part thirty-seven
3501. Is 'no glove, no love' your STRICT policy? Virgin here, but yeah it would be.
3502. What is the best Epic movie (examples of epics: ben-her, gone with the wind, last temptation of christ)?/ So, I’m dumb and thought you meant “epic” as in “awesome”, but something was telling me that you meant it in a different way, so I had to Google it. Apparently, if anyone else doesn’t know, it’s a style of movie that usually focuses on an heroic character. Google it if you want to know more, but yeah. Anyway, I saw a list of top Epic films and saw Forrest Gump was on there, so I’ll choose that. 3503. Finish the sentance. Hey, Hey we're the: People say we: But we're too busy: The time to hesitate is: You're too: It's a nice day to: start again. 3504. Have you ever had 'missing time'? It does seem like you lose time and it just slips away. I certainly feel that way. 3505. Have you ever sent an electronic greeting? Waaaaay back in the AOL days I sometimes send those electronic greeting cards.
3506. If you could send anonymous tips to people you knew who would never ever find out who sent them who would you send the following tips to? doesn't know when to leave: poor crotch hygenie: talks to much: band/art/dream is going nowehere: most likely to get arrestted: needs to get their life together: bad taste in clothes: bad taste in music: needs a hobby: 3507. Are you more likely to download porn or disney movies? Disney movies. I don’t watch porn. 3508. What is it with people? Good question. 3509. Do you eat too much sugar? No. My thing is carbs. 3510 Imagine you have aband. Let's name your band. Adjective: Plain. Animal(plural): Dogs. Your band name is (adjective) (animals) Under Glass!: Plain Dogs Under Glass. Could be better? Uh, yeah. Let's try again. Adjective: Fabulous. Noun (plural): Clothes. Your band is (adjective) (nouns) With Puppets: Fabulous Clothes With Puppets. 3511. Are you desperate but not serious? What.
3512. Was there a time when you were younger and it took less to get you excited? Oh, definitely. As a kid I was easily pleased and entertained and actually enjoyed doing things. Getting McDonald’s or something was exciting. What did it take then? Not much. What does it take now? A lot. :/ Even when it’s something I do like and enjoy, I just don’t have that spark anymore. Getting food isn’t even exciting anymore. 3513. Remember learning to write in elementary school? Yeah.
We spend 2 years learning to print..then they throw that out the window and teach kids cursive. Why? They don’t throw it out the window. We learned cursive in addition to print.
If cursive is so important and easy to read then why aren't books printed in cursive? It’s just a nicer looking print used more for things like our signature. Why aren't cursive computer fonts more popular? I don’t know, man. Not something I’ve thought about. Why do buisness forms always say 'please print'? Because it’s more legible than cursive typically. That’s just how it is okay I don’t knowww. Schools are so preoccupied with teaching kids the complicated but traditional skill of cursive writing that more emphasis is put on that than on teaching kids how to clearly express their ideas through writing. I move that cursive writing become a jr. high school elective instead of a grammer school priority. Who's with me? I don’t know what it’s like in schools now, but for me I remember learning it, but I don’t remember it being such a big deal. 3514. Can you think of anything else (besides cursive writing) that is unhelpful, or unuseful, yet traditional and unquestioned? What? I’m sure there’s a lot of things, but I don’t feel like coming up with any. 3515. Name one female celebrity who you would guess wears size ___ clothing: 0? 5? 12? 16? 20? 3516. Have you ever been to a place where the restrooms were named in a clever way rather than just saying men's and woman's? I've seen Hens and Roosters, Bart and Lisa, Dudes and Babes...what have you seen? I’ve heard of places that do that, but I don’t think I’ve ever been to one. 3517. What is the 'message' or 'point behind': Fight Club? Donnie Darko? AI? Minority Report? Solaris? A Walk to Remember? You've Got Mail? 3518. have you seen, and what are your thoughts about these movies: Drumline? The Hot Chick? I think it’s funny. Maid in Manhattan? It’s cute. Star Trek: Nemesis? About Schmidt? Evelyn? The Guys? Intacto? The Jimmy Show? The Lord of the Rings: The Two Towers? Gangs of New York? Two Weeks Notice? The Wild Thornberrys Movie? I wasn’t into that cartoon much as a kid. Smokers Only? Treasure Planet? The Santa Clause 2? It’s cute, but The Santa Clause will always be the best. 3519. START this sentance: ....and I think to myself, what a wonderful world." Something about seeing trees of green and red roses bloom.
3520. What is: insanity? Doing the same thing over and over and expecting different results. normal? Common, typical among a large group of people. Things can be considered normal for individuals, too. farenheit? Unit to measure temperature.
3521. Tell us about yourself in the third person for a bit: This girl really needs to get her shit together cause she’s a mess. 3522. If someone breaks a law, should they be punished if they did not know it was a law? It can be difficult to prove if they did or not, but that’s why in certain circumstances people are just given a warning.
3523. If it's so much easier to learn languages when we are very young (and it is, something to do with the developing brain) why do they wait until jr high and high school to teach them? *shrug* 3524. Name a band you sort of like: You are wearing that band's t-shirt in a store. SUDDENLY some guy you don't know comes up to you and goes, "Hey! You like (insert name of the band here)??!!" This is obviously a really stupid question because if you didn't like them you wouldn't be wearing the t-shirt. Your witty reply is: 3525. If you were organizing cd's in a music store what section would you put each of the following in (don't forget the 'bargain bin' section!): Blink182 Depech Mode Weezer Led Zeppelin The Doors Avril Lavigne Nelly Manfred Mann Iggy Pop Pink Floyd Guns N Roses Shakira Britny Spears Tool Ozzy Osbourne Madonna The Rolling Stones The Beatles Motley Crue Bon Jovi 3526. Does coffee stimulate your mind or body more? It takes off some of the edge, and I really just love coffee, so I guess I’d say my mind cause it doesn’t do much at all for the tiredness anymore.
3527. Can you do 'six degrees of seperation' to anyone famous? Nope.
3528. What's the oddest thing in your home? *shrug*
3529. Do you find it odd when people who are not handicapped use the handicapped stall: in the bathroom? Some parents use it if they have a small child with them. in the parking lot? There’s a stall in the parking lot? ha. It’s pretty messed up when people who genuinely don’t need it use it and take the place from someone who genuinely does. People need to keep in mind; though, that handicapped doesn’t just mean “wheelchair user.” People assume if they’re not in a wheelchair then they don’t need that parking spot and that’s not always the case. 3530. Do you sometimes find yourself talking to yourself? I call it thinking out loud. My mind is a jumbled mess and it helps me sort out things sometimes.
Do you answer yourself back? I don’t have conversations with myself, I just think things out loud.

3537. I have an idea. let's change the english language by making the words fewer, shorter and more concise. What do ya think? Not sure how you’d go about that. Sounds like a lot of work.
3538. What are the physical symptoms of: joy? Smiling, that feeling of butterflies in your stomach, rapid heart rate. fear? Rapid heart rate, sweating, stomach in knots feeling, trouble breathing. shame? Anger, rage, anxiety, crying. 3539. Here's the scenerio...your little eight year old brother is hangin out in the house when you come in..and catch him watching the playboy channel! What do you do/say? I’d quickly switch the channel and ask what he was doing.
He says, "Why can't I watch this?" What is your response? It’s not appropriate for kids. Watch cartoons. Why do you respond that way? Because I don’t think a child should watch that stuff. I wouldn’t freak out on him, but I’d explain it’s just not appropriate. Then if he had questions he could go to my parents, ha.
3540. Who REALLY has a higher sex drive, girls or guys? Really depends on the person. How can you tell? 3541. are you usually carefree? Ha. Haha. Hahahaha. Good one. 3542. 3547. Would you do almost anything for a dare? Nope. I’m a lame-o. 3548. Do you hate being in a crowd who plays jokes on one another? Playful joking and goofing around is fun. Unless that’s all they do and they’re just annoying and obnoxious about it to where it’s not fun anymore. 3549. Do you enjoy wild parties? Nope.
3550. Have you ever paid for something priced more than $5.00 in only change? Noo.
3551. Is rascism still a big part of our culture? Yes. You’re in denial if you think it doesn’t still exist. 3552. A drawing was shown to a person. The drawing showed a black man in a buisness suit standing next to a white man holding a razor. The person who saw this drawing was white and was asked to describe it to a second white person who had not seen it, who described it to a third, and so on. By the end of six rounds the final report often placed the razor in the hand of the black man and it is claimed he is waving it threateningly. What do you think of thiss? There’s a whole test and study on this type of thing. I remember discussing it in one of my psych courses. 3553. How many famous people cxan you name who committed sucicide?> Too many. :( 3554. I have no motivation or drive anymore. ambitious or easy going? Generally pretty easy going. I try to be. Anxiety Inscurity Emotionalism and Self Pity are traits of a neurotic personality. Sociable, fun loving, friendly and adventurous are traits of an extraverted personality. orignality, imaginative, broad interests, and receptive are traits of an Open personality. Good natured, soft hearted, courteous, and sympathetic are traits of an agreeable personality. Well organized, dependable, hardworking and ambitious are traits of a conscientious personality. 3560. Do men and woman have little or a lot in common? Depends on the people. A woman or man could have a lot in common, but that same woman or man could have little to nothing in common with another woman or man. It all just depends. 3561. Artificial Intelligence Philosophy – AI and Machine Learning
A student will gain an awareness, and discover to judge and also to produce arguments for and against major philosophical problems concerning AI, robotics as well as their relations to human cognition and behavior. A different type of effort at fixing AIs ethics issue is the proliferation of crowdsourced ethics projects, which have the commendable objective of a far more democratic method of science.
To illustrate DJ Patils Code of Ethics for Data Science, which invites the information-science community to lead ideas but doesn't develop in the decades of labor already made by philosophers, historians and sociologists of science. Then there's MITs Moral Machine project, which asks the general public to election on questions for example whether a self-driving vehicle with brake failure must go beyond five destitute people instead of one female physician.
Philosophers call these trolley problems and also have printed a large number of books and papers around the subject in the last half-century. Evaluating the views of professional AI philosophers with individuals of everyone could be eye-opening, as experimental philosophy has frequently proven, but merely ignoring professionals and going for an election rather is irresponsible. We live at a time in which the fundamental knowledge of what it really way to be human is altering. Social networking platforms still redefine our feeling of place and time.
We grapple using these changes once we attempt to define ourselves and our social relationships within an era of constant connectivity. A couple of decades ago, if a person claimed to possess supporters you’d assume they were beginning a cult. Now it’s an expression that 12 year olds use once they discuss Instagram and Twitter. Customers aren't the only ones who're increasingly more demanding, employees too. They would like to choose their professional future as well as their development.
That's the reason new talent management methodologies have started to emerge, as we will have below. Many counter-arguments happen to be made against unpredicted intelligence explosions, focused largely on technical limitations and logic. For instance, sci-fi author Ramez Naam stated within an essay for H+ magazine that a super intelligent mind would want some time and sources to invent humanity-destroying technologies it would need to have fun playing the human economy to acquire what it really needed (for instance, building faster chips requires not only new designs but complicated and costly nick fabrication foundries to construct them.)The determination that the system, just like an atom of polonium218, is or isn't a closed system, obviously, poses difficult epistemic problems, that are compounded within the situation of people, precisely since they're vastly more complicated causal systems.
Furthermore, probabilistic systems need to be distinguished from (what exactly are known as) chaotic systems, that are deterministic systems with acute sensitivity to initial conditions, in which the smallest switch to individuals conditions can result in formerly unpredicted effects. A small improvement in thousands and thousands of lines of code controlling an area probe, for instance, composed of the appearance of just one wrong character, just one misplaced comma, caused Mariner 1, the very first US interplanetary spacecraft, to veer off target after which need to be destroyed. A minimum of some versions of artificial intelligence are attempts not just to model human intelligence, but to create computers and robots that exhibit it: which have ideas, use language, as well as have freedom.  Performs this seem sensible?  What can it show us about human thinking and awareness?  Join John and Ken because they identify the philosophical issues elevated by artificial intelligence. However the nerd-sighted geniuses in our day result in the same mistake. Should you ask a coder what ought to be done to make certain AI does no evil, you are prone to get 1 of 2 solutions, neither being reassuring. Answer No. 1: It is not my problem. I simply construct it, as exemplified lately with a Harvard computer researcher who stated, I’m just an engineer when requested the way a predictive policing tool he developed might be misused. Answer No. 2: Believe me. I’m smart enough to have it right. AI researchers really are a smart bunch, but there is a terrible history of staying away from ethical blunders.
A few of the better-known goof-ups include Google images tagging black people as gorillas, chat bots that become Nazis and racist soap dispensers. The effects can be more serious when biased algorithms are responsible for deciding who ought to be approved for any financial loan, who to employ or admit to college or if to kill a suspect inside a police chase. I can tell how that's already happening. We have pretty efficient satnav systems, which generally take us right places.
Those who have developed with this type of system have grown to be incredibly dependent on navigation by machine. In the event that begins to fail at any time, Id imagine some those who have lately passed their test as motorists would a very find it difficult to use road signs, or memorized routes, or perhaps a conventional map as a means of having in one spot to another.  Another recent article within the New You are able to Occasions claimed that academics happen to be asleep in the wheel, departing policy makers who're battling to learn how to regulate AI subject to industry lobbyists.
The content trigger a Twitter storm of replies from philosophers, historians and sociologists of science, angry their decades of underfunded jobs are again being overlooked and erased. Such as the Who’s lower in Whoville, they cried in fear, we’re here! We're here! We're here! We're here!
If policy makers and funding sources listen carefully to individuals’ voices, there are answers on offer. The content concludes that people urgently require an academic institute centered on algorithmic accountability. On Twitter, the articles author, Cathy ONeil, was adamant, there must be several more tenure lines dedicated to it. Individuals both seem like solid ideas. Objection II: A minimum of it might be figured that since current computers (objective evidence suggests) do lack feelings until Data 2.  Does arrive (when) we're titled, given computers' insufficient feelings, to deny the low-level and piecemeal high-level intelligent behavior of computers bespeak genuine subjectivity or intelligence. AI lent many concepts without delivering thanks, like ontology, theory of mind, agent based architecture, object oriented design, archetypes and many more. Algorithms tracking our each step and key stroke expose us to dangers more dangerous than impulsively buying anti-wrinkle cream. More and more polarized and radicalized political movements, leaked health data and also the manipulation of elections using harvested Facebook profiles are some of the documented connection between the mass deployments of AI. Something as apparently innocent as discussing your jogging routes online can reveal military secrets.
These cases are simply the beginning. Even our beloved Canadian Tire cash is being repurposed like a surveillance tool for any machine-learning team. Singer didn't think about a. I. s, but his argument shows that the escalator of reason leads societies to greater benevolence no matter species origin. A. I. s will need to strike the escalator of reason must have, simply because they will have to bargain for goods inside a human-dominated economy and they'll face human potential to deal with inappropriate behavior.
The philosopher John Smart argues, if morality and immunity are developmental processes, when they arise inevitably in most intelligent collectives as a kind of positive-sum game, they have to also grow in pressure and extent as each civilizations computational capacity grows.

👦, 🌸, 🕶, and 🖱?
👦 - ChaseI love Chase, but perhaps not as much as the next person. While he seems like a delightful ego, the way the fandom portrays him sometimes dissuades me from loving him like I should. Still a great ego, though!
🌸 - Yan I love the idea of Yan so much! I personally use she/her pronouns for Yandere, thanks to a friend of mine. Sometimes I am confused as to why she gets so much attention when she was more of less just a funny intro, but I suppose everyone just loves the concept of a Yandere!
🕶 - BingAh, Bing. Where do I even start. Obviously, my favorite ego. He’s what got me back into Mark’s content, actually, after I hit a bit of a stump. I enjoy all the different ways the fandom portrays him, and he’s such an adorable goof in my eyes. I even kinda relate to him a bit! He’s just a wonderful ego to experiment with!
🖱- GoogleAh yes, one of the ‘big four’. I love him so much! One of the reasons I love him and Bing so much is due to my love my robots and the concept of AI! A great character! I hate how people sometimes portray him as entirely emotionless, but I can understand where it’s coming from. I also hate when he’s almost over emotional! I myself am guilty of making him over-emotional, but I’m working on making him more ‘in character.’ I do love all interpretation of Google I see, but I definitely think there should be some more Google Red and Google Green content.

last night I dreamed that I was an archeologist tortoise and I was looking at dozens of “human” skeletons in Buckingham palace that was also my backyard. the skeletons all looked like combo human and turtle because the whole torso looked basically like the first google image result for sea turtle skeleton. then my sister woke me up, giving me a comforter and telling me my mom need help with some things.  cleaned up around the living room and did some laundry and boiled some eggs and made meatloaf and swept the floor. the meatloaf turned out surprisingly good, idk what I did differently. I evemtually went back to my room and tried to remember what I wanted to do today. last night as I was falling asleep I told myself that I was gonna clear off my desk so I could finally use it, so I moved some stuff around and set up my laptop. I havent been able to sit at a real actual desk in SO LONG and its SO NICE to have just like a space where I can sit down and work and have a chair that will support my back instead of sitting cross legged on my bed or laying down while doing stuff on my laptop. it almost makes me feel productive even I'm just playing the sims. I feel especially cool when im just typing out whatever bullshit because it makes me feel like im at an office job typing up ~important documents~ :) idk man I think quarantine has changed me lmao. if im getting this many emotions from just being able to sit down at a desk and do ANYTHING idk how im gonna handle collage. I keep calling whetever im doing (playing the sims, scrolling through Tumblr, typing up this summary of the day) work because it just. feels nice sitting at a desk and typing. even if it’s dumb bullshit!! idk how to describe it I just feel amazing. it makes me feel like im writing a paper with all the horrible parts like research and thinking. the sound of typing on my MacBook makes me feel like im in school again, but without the horrible stressful parts. idk mn I know I've been going on about this desk and stuff for too long and im gonna hate it if I eventually read back through these daily logs but I just feel so nice. ill change topics anyway. I hung up my calendar again! I literally didn't have any open wall space aside from maybe the wall behind my bed but why the hell would I put a calendar where I can't see it. instead its kind of hanging above my closet. I pinned it to the wooden board in the “doorway” (idk what other word to use) where there would normally be sliding doors that open and shut if they hadn't been taken off YEARS ago. I also played a lot of the sims 4, juggling aspirations for 5 sims. I quit because I got frustrated that all my sims are dumb and the ai Is buggy and doesn't let me do what I want them to do. I also plopped in a house on my family’s old lot and spent some time adjusting the colors and the trees and adding those paper craft cieling things that can either have stars or leaves or snowflakes that came in the free winter holiday stuff pack and holy shit as soon as I found those I think they became my new favorite decoration item. I threw them everywhere but eventually took down most of them, leaving some leaf ones in the bedroom. I was gonna move in a family of a bunch of young adults and children to help with the first kid’s serial romantic aspiration and one of the twin’s social butterfly aspiration, but I ended up not doing that in favor of just decorating more and playing with the family some more. one thing I realized while playing is that there are fucking MICE in my CIELING. well not really in the cieling, in the attic, but I can hear them chewing on shit and its sucks. I would turn on a fan to drown out the noise but my room is fucking FREEZING. I threw the blanket back over my window hoping that it would keep heat from escaping but I don't think that really did anything. so after freezing my ass off I got fed up and put on fluffy socks under normal socks, wore my owl onesie as pants over my shorts, put on my comfy (oversized hoodie), and threw a fluffy blanket over my shoulders. thankfully I was pretty cozy after that, but as I type this after taking off the cosy and blanket, I can feel my toes getting cold again. damnit. ANYWAY after quitting the sims for the night I ate some salad and got a heart shaped crouton :) and I scrolled through Tumblr for a bit. then I decided to finally work on the paws my friend wanted. but I couldn't find the pattern so I instead worked on the brown paws instead. I could only work on them so much, since I still have to finish the lining before I can do much else. I attached the backs of the fingers to the back of the hand. I didnt get much down but what matters is that I did SOMETHING. I'm gonna keep an eye out for that pattern that I need, and if I cant find it, I'll just make a new pattern. tbh I think thad’s be the better way to go anyway since I wouldn't have to figure out how the fuck the old one goes together and I can also have a pattern that perfectly fits the foam underneath. also tbh i have mixed feeling about the white paws my friend wants. I like how dextrous they are and how easily you can emote and move your fingers, but I dont like how ovular I made the paw pads and the hints of black thread peaking out where I sewed the pads from the back. I WOULD just remake them with the free curl works pattern im using for the brown paws but I figure I might as well finish this pair since there’s already one done and the foam interior is already made. whatever. I dont wanna think about it too much. I also dont like the head that goes with the paws, it was a fish job in comparison to my first head and I kinda hate it. but I think I'll eventually get some longer fur for the neck and a hair poof and cheeks (maybe) and do a little refurbishing and give it to my friend if she ever wants it, since it matches the paws and all. I have lots of plans for my 2 WIP heads but not all the materials/motivation. plus I just need to let the ideas stir before I do unything, making sure they’re goof before I act on them. I'm exited that I can shave down fur relativey easily and evenly without an electric dog shaver, which opens up a lot of opportunities. anyway as I was working on the brown paws I had TAZ on in the background and it still baffles me a little bit how different griffin and Matt mercer operate as dms like holy shit. its really funny. and it got me thinking about how I wouldn't mind dming for my friend group if he chance ever arose. I DO have the forgotten realms campaign setting book. I haven't actually looked at it but I assume it has a few pre-built quests and plot lines n stuff in it. I'll probably take a better look at in the morning when it’s not 1:40 am. dang now I'm thinking about my Minecraft dnd idea again. I think the real problem keeping me from being a dm is that I CANNOT keep a straight face when doing improv/roleplaying, so I dont know how well I could hold together a world for them to play in. I would love to give it a try tho. not with the Minecraft idea at the same time, fuck no. I would need to do like. a classic vanilla dnd experience the first time, maybe even using our tiefling family characters since I'm at least a little familiar with them. can you dm and also play your own character? is that fair? is that a think you can do? I think that could be fun but also hard to juggle and also maybe kinda suck because you’d already know all the answers to all the puzzles. meh. actually now I kind of really want to look through thet book tonight instead of in the morning. also I mentioned overnight oats a few days ago I think, and the first morning it was kinda gross, the second time I ate it was still a little gross texture wise, but I finished it off tonight and it was pretty good. maybe next time I'll try it without the banana and a little less milk and maybe slice up an apple into little cubes for texture. hell yeah peanut butter apple cinnamon brown sugar overnight oats. that sound pretty dang good actually. I'll try that some time, but I dont think I can right now because I dont think we have any apples in the house. phooey. I should also probably put this oatmeal cp in the sink before it becomes impossible to clean. holy shit how long have I been writing? SEE THE DESK MAKES ME JUST WANNA KEEP WRITING AND WRITING FOREVER I FEEL SO PRODUCTIVE EVEN IF IM NOT DOING ANYTHING PRODUCTIVE!! I love just typing and typing forever its so soothing just hearing the tapping of the keyboard and getting my thought out without actually having to think that hard about it. goddamn im never gonna read back through this this is a nightmare lmao. no paragraph breaks no capitalization no nothin. I dont even wanna stop typing even though my arm is starting to hurt a little but from leaning the edge of the desk. now im thinking about the movie soul again and the cat as it rides on the escalator to the great beyond and how that dude in the band was the main characters student and how that scene with the girl trying to quit music and then immediately changed her mind didnt make any sense. like what the hell I dont understand that scene at all. also thinking about the transition where he’s like “ok repeat after me” as he’s in the cat and the camera goes over the mom’s shoulder and it’s just him talking, I like how they did that instead of doing dialouge between him and the cat. idk man. I think maybe I should stop typing now since my body is starting to hurt. sorry for putting this H U G E wall of text on your dash but I just like typing out my thoughts :) goodnight!
edit: OH I forgot to talk about something else!! last night I was thinking about valentines day and how cute it would be to have a little overall dress in the pattern on one of my childhood blankets, its like a light pink with white hearts on it so I looked up some fabrics and none of them were the right pattern. I also looked up a sewing pattern that I think would look nice and its on sale right now! I totally want to try and make it, but fabric is expensive so I think I might look at dollar tree for fleece baby blankets because I know they have them there, I bought a few a while ago for some plush sewing projects. they’re decently sized so I think I could do it.idk how many I would need to buy tho. or I might go to goodwill and look for a pink sheet? I have a thin pink blanket that could theoretically work but I want to use a planet im not attached to. or even just find a few big shirts in the same shade of pink? then I could maybe line it with something. I have red purple and white satin but that’s literally the worst fuckin fabric in the world to work with. my first experience with sewing was trying to make plushies out of satin and holy hell idk how I did it. anyway even though I literally never wear dresses I think it would be a fun project to try and make myself a cute little valentines dress. :) I could even give myself POCKETS >:)))

Google's AI beats the world's top chess engine w/ only 4 hours of practice
With just four hours of practice playing against itself and no study of outside material, AlphaZero (an upgraded version of Alpha Go, the AI program that Google built for playing Go) beat the silicon pants off of the world's strongest chess program yesterday. This is massively and scarily impressive.
AlphaZero won the closed-door, 100-game match with 28 wins, 72 draws, and zero losses.
Oh, and it took AlphaZero only four hours to "learn" chess. Sorry humans, you had a good run.
That's right -- the programmers of AlphaZero, housed within the DeepMind division of Google, had it use a type of "machine learning," specifically reinforcement learning. Put more plainly, AlphaZero was not "taught" the game in the traditional sense. That means no opening book, no endgame tables, and apparently no complicated algorithms dissecting minute differences between center pawns and side pawns.
This would be akin to a robot being given access to thousands of metal bits and parts, but no knowledge of a combustion engine, then it experiments numerous times with every combination possible until it builds a Ferrari. That's all in less time that it takes to watch the "Lord of the Rings" trilogy. The program had four hours to play itself many, many times, thereby becoming its own teacher.
Grandmaster Peter Heine Nelson likened the experience of watching AlphaZero play to aliens:
After reading the paper but especially seeing the games I thought, well, I always wondered how it would be if a superior species landed on earth and showed us how they play chess. I feel now I know.
As I said about AlphaGo last year, our machines becoming unpredictable is unnerving:
Unpredictable machines. Machines that act more like the weather than Newtonian gravity. That's going to take some getting used to.
Albert Silver has a good overview of AlphaZero's history and what Google has accomplished. To many chess experts, it seemed as though AlphaZero was playing more like a human than a machine:
If Karpov had been a chess engine, he might have been called AlphaZero. There is a relentless positional boa constrictor approach that is simply unheard of. Modern chess engines are focused on activity, and have special safeguards to avoid blocked positions as they have no understanding of them and often find themselves in a dead end before they realize it. AlphaZero has no such prejudices or issues, and seems to thrive on snuffing out the opponent's play. It is singularly impressive, and what is astonishing is how it is able to also find tactics that the engines seem blind to.
So, where does Google take AlphaZero from here? In a post which includes the phrase "Skynet Goes Live", Tyler Cowen ventures a guess:
I've long said that Google's final fate will be to evolve into a hedge fund.
Why goof around with search & display advertising when directly gaming the world's financial market could be so much more lucrative?

Pokémon GO and the April Fools’ joke that made billions
It’s the morning of March 31st, 2014, and the Google Maps team is about to release its April Fools’ Day gag to the world.
It wasn’t the first time this team had goofed around with an April Fools’ day joke. Google, as a whole, goes wild on April 1st. Maybe it’s for the resulting publicity. Maybe it’s to make the brand seem a little more fun. Maybe it’s to give employees a creative outlet that doesn’t seem so mission critical. It’s probably a mix of all three.
Google has used the first of April to “launch” everything from morse code keyboards, to AI-powered garden gnomes, to a translator for talking with your pets. They’ve “announced” that the company would be switching to Comic Sans as the default font across all of its products, and once spent the day suggesting that, despite whatever you might be searching for on YouTube, you probably meant to search for Sandstorm by Darude.
Most of the gags come and go (excluding Gmail, of course, which everyone thought was a joke thanks to its April 1st launch timing.) In most cases, everything is reset back to normal and everyone moves on.
This one would be a bit different. Within the next few hours, the wheels would be in motion for the product that became Pokémon GO.
This is Part 2 of our EC-1 series on Niantic, looking at its past, present, and potential future. If you haven’t read it, you can find Part 1 here. The reading time for this article is 31 minutes (7,900 words)
The Joke That Inspired It All
By April 2014, Niantic was still over a year away from its spinout of Google. At this point, it’s still Niantic Labs, an “autonomous unit” operating under Google’s roof.
They’d launched Field Trip, which proved to the team that there was something to this idea of focusing around real world points of interest, but didn’t seem to keep people coming back. They’d followed up with their first game, Ingress, which had a dedicated following but hadn’t made them very much money.
“Niantic was trying to figure out what was next, and what we should do.”
That’s Masashi (or “Masa”) Kawashima. He runs Niantic’s operations in Asia, having joined to grow Ingress in Japan at a time when the country was around 25th on the list by playerbase. Nowaday’s it’s number one or two, depending on which phone platform we’re talking about. His passion for Niantic’s games runs deep; he rarely stops smiling when talking about them. Every question I ask is answered with a story, and each one is packed with a million details. At no point am I tempted to stop him.

Oh.. oh god I had the best idea ever... dude, Google's AI preserves right? So he hacks something else like a phone near Dark or Anti and just calmly calls Anti's mistake out and Dark is so,,, so furious. He smashes the phone on the floor. Anti is pissed cause that was his phone. Google's AI is still alive and well and is mocking the demons. Ooh Anti, Dark, you done goofed
Omg, or G just does it quietly enough for Dark to hear, so Dark destroys the phone and Anti goes ballistic and starts to fight Dark. While G is just happily in another device watching the two almost murder each other. I can see someone else walking in and seeing them fight and just turn on their heel and walk straight back out.
