Personally, I think Zelda and Link still end up together in Age of Calamity. They literally flirt constantly in that game....

Just because Mipha is alive doesn't mean it would happen 🤷‍♀️
Not to mention that the armor description for the Zora armor is basically making a joke of it in English ("It's probably fine to be wearing this. Probably.") and "Is it really okay to wear this??" in Japanese. Because that's toootally how someone who accepts a proposal acts. Uh huh.

In the Hyrule Warriors: Age of Calamity timeline, Mipha confesses her love to Link. They end up together.
Zelda continues her research in both Sheikah and Zonai technology, now with King Rhoam allowing her to do so as she always wanted.
Purah figures out she has feelings for Zelda and Zelda realizes that she's bisexual when she starts finding Purah attractive. After about a year of flirting, they get together.
Revali and Link now train vigorously so that they can fight in the coliseum in front of all Hyrule to determine which of them is actually better at fighting.
Kohga and Sooga have gay sex every day and are happy boyfriends.
Ganondorf's body remains under Hyrule Castle for over a hundred years before he comes back from the dead when Queen Zelda and the Hero of the Wild are old and frail. Tears of the Kingdom happens but the only difference is the age. Also Zelda has dementia and Link has become deaf from their old ages.

I know people might beat me down to a pulp if I admit this but I think AOC is my favorite Zelda game right beside Botw and Twilight princess.
I know it fanficcy. I know it’s stupid. But yknow what it gave me? Cute, fluffy moments with my favorite characters and an egg guardian.
I watched someone play through it and they never did any side quests, any character upgrades. Never even TOUCHED the champions unless needed. And then I thought ‘do people really not like this game?’
Yeah my rant is over now :))

still bugged by the fact that in aoc hyrule knew the calamity would happen on zelda’s birthday and would hit the castle and neither evacuated the town/castle or had zelda journey to mount lanayru and so she could make her final attempt at unlocking her powers before the calamity struck
like imagine travelling back in time to warn people that the world is going to end on a specific day and the night before a meteor hits they’re making plans for brunch at the site of impact

You mean like the events of Totk happening 100 years earlier in the AoC timeline? And maybe Terrako brings Rauru and Mineru forward in time.
Yeah, essentially (but Sonia too, I want all 3 playable).
I want that sweet, sweet quasi-canon Everybody Lives AU

Fun Design Details and Random Facts about My Links
Sage (BotW): Conceptually post-botw2 so they have longer hair with a more gingery tinge and they may or may not have a prosthetic/ magic limb, when we get more info about botw2 I’ll probably figure it out lmao. Anyway they’re the magical guy bc they keep the Champions powers and was affected by dying so they can talk to ghosts and do other minor necromancy, also they’re a skilled elixir maker and food enchanter and general little witch guy. Color scheme is generally blues and teals and greens but they also wear a lot of pink and red bc in game they look pretty good in it. Has a big pretty green cloak that's heavily embroidered bc they seem like the type. What is a big cloak but a cool fantasy comfort hoodie.
Guardian (AoC): A major part of his design and backstory is that he’s half sheikah. He has patches of white hair and a section of red in one of his eyes. He generally wears the normal sheikah stealth armor or the sleeveless turtleneck body suit bc he likes to be flexible. He has a dark teal/ blue sheikah forehead tattoo, but in his original design I had the idea of putting the tattoo on his mouth. so that when he opened it the eye would open but it was too complicated so I decided against it. His color scheme is blues and purples and grays and that muted bronze of sheikah armor. This version of the champions garb is a scarf-cape ie LU Warriors. Doesn’t always wear it as it gets in the way an is kind of impractical. It looks pretty cool though.
Captain (WW): A big part of his design change is that I wanted to give him darker skin but keep his sun bleached blonde hair, as I feel like more people of the great sea should be less white. He spends so much time in the sun that it’s a mystery how he was supposed to be so pale. He also has a lot of freckles and subtle scars. He wears some of Tetra’s princess Zelda jewelry, like the little ear wings and anything else pretty. He turned his old green cap into a little scarf/ bandana because there’s no way he would fit in the outfit now. This guy is kinda tall, at least for a Link. I liked his little swirly belt buckle so I kept that and gave him Linebeck’s coat to add to the pirate aesthetic. His color scheme is greens and blues and golds and accents in jewel tones since he wears a lot of jewels. He also wears smudgy eyeliner and dark eyeshadow.
King (SkSw): You know that cool iridescent metal that SkSw Zelda has as the main material for her jewelry? Well King is absolutely decked in it. It’s what his loftwing shaped crown is made out of and he has jeweled rings and a necklace all made out of the stuff. He has a serious wing motif, there are wings on his clothes and new sword and that’s not to mention the crown. Hylia always had a bird thing going on so King is really playing into that. He has his loftwings feathers as a shoulder piece and his sailcloth was turned into more of a sash-cape. Looks very roman. Color scheme is reds and purples and humble warm browns. He doesn’t like looking too fancy all the time but he definitely dresses a little more extravagantly than the average Hylian.
Hunter (TP): He’s the type to wear a lot of leather armor, a good balance of protection and flexibility, as his job is literally monster hunting he decided to invest in something like that. Has a full wolf pelt tied around his waist and I kinda want to give him a skirt like that one concept art. Maybe that’s just what he wears whenever he isn’t in full armor lmao. His hair is gradually turning black due to the prolonged use of twili magic. He has the markings on his face and thighs that mirror his wolf form but they only show up at night and they glow because i think that would be cool. He has a kind of shaggy mullet and a grumpy vibe but has a surprisingly dadly quality about him. His color scheme is mostly neutral with blacks and browns and greys but with a bit of the classic forest green and bronze chainmail. Yes he has fangs, are you surprised?
Hero (OoT): Wow this guy almost looks normal, sure he wears a little more green than the average person and tends to wear tights while on horseback, but he’s not one for armor or anything too crazy. Okay, he wears his golden gauntlets when it’s convenient but is generally not too crazy with his design. His hair is long enough to be in a low ponytail and is nice and normal. I might add some white hair despite him being in his early twenties. That all changes when he puts on the FD mask though. I’m planning on making the markings that come from that be more complex than just thick lines and making them glow bc it should be unambiguous how powerful this guy is. I mean, it’s still the same guy, he just kicks more ass. It lowers his voice and makes him astronomically strong. It’s really hard to actually hurt him and he’s taller and generally pretty terrifying.
General (HW): I’m gonna be honest, his design is really giving me some trouble. I’m not sure exactly how to make him interesting while still staying true to the character. I could go full Camelot type medieval knight but I’m not sure that feels quite right. I could make his era more based around Elizabethan England, so I can give him funny hair and give the royal court some tutor type drama but I’m not quite sure. In any case, his life is full of hiding in the castle whenever he’s able to, to avoid stalkers, and doing his best to combat manipulative royal courtiers that he doesn’t tell the Queen about because he doesn’t want to become a problem. His color scheme is vibrant royal blues with orange accents. Bright colors are only for the fancy people and the General is nothing if not fancy.

If the Zelda team ever collabs with Fortnite and make their own set, here's what I would like to see:
Link skin with 3 styles (his iconic green outfit, Champions Tunic, and Zonai-Hylian mixed outfit with Rauru's arm)
Zelda skin with 2 styles (Blue/Champions Tunic and Zonai-Hylian mixed outfit)
Ganondorf skin with a built-in emote to change into his Demon King form
Paraglider as a glider
Light Dragon as a glider
The Master Sword as a harvesting tool and backbling
The Triforce as a backbling
Malice/Gloom Eye as a backbling
Hylian Shield as a backbling
Sheikah tech and Corrupted Sheikah tech weapon wraps
Zonai tech weapon wraps
Zonai wheels for cars
Zonai energy as car boost

Chapters: 5/5 Fandom: Hyrule Warriors: Age of Calamity (Video Game), The Legend of Zelda & Related Fandoms, The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild Rating: Mature Warnings: No Archive Warnings Apply Relationships: Impa/Astor (Legend of Zelda) Characters: Impa (Legend of Zelda), Astor (Legend of Zelda), King Rhoam Bosphoramus Hyrule, Various Sheikah Additional Tags: feat. Astor’s flowery prose, and slight delusions of grandeur, Impa being a BAMF, mostly a peaceful introspective tale, basically that ghibli-esque romance ive always wanted to write
Ahhhhh! She is finally done! I enjoyed working on this so much, and I tried to tidy up everything for the end and grow as a writer. It was a bit outside of my wheel-house. It’s tricky to work with characters that have little to no fleshing out or backstory to work with. It’s also strange to work with such a niche fandom for an even more niche pairing, but writing with almost no views and no comments feels very freeing somehow. The ending was way different than I’ve ever done, but it felt appropriate.

kinda dead horse I’m beating here but I still have some Opinions™ about Age of Calamity that I just feel like sharing. Spoilers ahead, of course - also it’s long fjkdsjgk
Age of Calamity was cool in the beginning, but for me, it didn’t take long before the novelty wore off.
Don’t get me wrong, of the mainline series BOTW is my absolute favorite. I loved the story, I loved the characters, really everything about it. I get that at the time, BOTW was kind of the “it” thing so they were like “ah, let’s make the next Warriors title BOTW-centric!” but it really feels like less of a Warriors game and more like BOTW 1.5, with some Warriors elements sprinkled in it.
The story was fine - I thought the new villain was kind of clichéd but it makes me think of the older Zelda games where the Dragon to Ganon really was just some evil magic guy. I like that there’s more interaction between the Champions because we didn’t get to see a whole lot in BOTW, and I think the explanation for how you can have the ancestors/successors fight alongside them works fine in the context of the story (that is, it doesn’t feel like a total ass-pull like when some games go “oh!! suddenly time travel!!” or something)
The gameplay was neat, characters have their own gimmicks like in the first HW which I like, it makes them stand out more and gives them some extra utility in certain scenarios. Some of them were kind of tricky to wrap my head around, like Zelda with the Sheikah Slate and the Great Fairies but overall I liked how characters played.
I wasn’t a fan of how keeps/outposts weren’t named or made too terribly distinct on the map - but maybe I’m just misremembering that part. Also kind of nitpicky but I didn’t like how elemental rod usage carried over between battles. Made it kind of a hassle to remember where I could pick up more uses and go out of my way to refill it there, before going into another battle where it was easier to use the rods. I would have liked if they reset after each battle but meh. I also feel like the smithy in this game was either too complicated or too far removed from how it worked in the first HW, and I definitely didn’t get the most out of it like I should have, but maybe that’s just me being bad at reading comprehension or my brain going “less thinky thinky, more hacky slashy” adskjf
I think I was most disappointed when it came to the roster. To be fair, you can’t have a BOTW-centric Warriors game without the essential characters - Link Zelda the champions, their successors, etc. But I think there was a lot of missed opportunity as well. Some characters I didn’t fully expect but was happy we got, like King Rhoam, Hestu, Master Kohga, Purah/Robbie. I ended up loving Terrako and Sooga as well. Maz Koshia was neat and I get where they were going, but he’s kind of... there. kdjfhj
I knew that playable Ganon would be hard to incorporate this time around due to the fact that in BOTW he was an absolutely massive abomination, but something about his design and his gameplay this time around just didn’t sit right with me. Maybe it was his unique mechanic, maybe it was the fact that he reminded me of OOT Ganon if someone on deviantart made an edgy recolor of him, or the fact that his inclusion tacked on at the end really made it seem like an afterthought. And honestly, we really could have done without the Battle-Tested Guardian - that one absolutely felt like an ass-pull, and wasn’t very fun to play as.
Entirely personal preference here, but I would have loved for us to get a Lethal Joke Character™ similar to Tingle in the first HW - my vote would have gone to either Beedle or Kilton. I think it’s such a missed opportunity for them to not have included Kass, but maybe they just didn’t want a third Rito? And I can’t fathom why they didn’t make Astor playable when he’s very much an integral part of the story, whole moveset programmed when you fight him and everything... I remember getting excited for Cia/Volga/Wizzro in HW when they finally became playable so I was kind of expecting the same here.
I also would have liked more dialogue for things like getting x amount of kills, capturing a keep, that kind of stuff, or more dialogue between specific characters outside of just the roster, but I can guess a few reasons why they didn’t add more of that. There’s already a metric fuckton of dialogue in the game as a whole, and the backlog for the little messages getting in the way of triggering certain events was probably a big complaint in the first. And also, maybe they didn’t want to bother giving Link a companion to talk for him so they just cut out anything that could be said on his behalf dkjhfg.
There’s more stuff I could ramble about - like the material system, the lack of costumes for just about everyone except Link... but I think this post is long enough. I also still have lots of wishes about the roster in the first HW but that’s an even DEADER horse.
Speaking of the first HW though, I’ve actually been revisiting it recently, and... I feel sad that for such an old game, I’m still enjoying it more than AoC, even after investing countless hours into the latter. Like, even to this day I haven’t 100%’d HW (granted there were long gaps of not playing, but still), and there’s so much replayability. But I pre-ordered AoC, and even before the DLC came out, I literally only had like 1 more sidequest before there was nothing new to for me to do.
Anyway, I complain too much about games that aren’t really relevant anymore - I should probably try to get to bed at a decent hour tonight.
