An mein Kind – und alle, die sich erinnern wollen.

Ich habe mir so oft gewünscht, ich könnte dir deine Kindheit zeigen. Nicht nur erzählen, wie du gekichert hast, als du deinen ersten Luftballon gesehen hast. Oder wie du „Mama“ gesagt hast, mit dieser niedlichen Stimme voller Vertrauen. Sondern es dir wirklich zeigen. Hörbar. Sichtbar. Greifbar.

Also habe ich angefangen, Momente zu sammeln. Nicht nur Fotos, sondern auch Videos. Deine Worte, als du zum ersten Mal „Gute Nacht“ gesagt hast. Das Lachen mit Papa am Frühstückstisch. Omas liebevolle Worte auf einer Sprachnachricht, die ich fast gelöscht hätte.

Und irgendwann wurde aus dieser Idee ein Buch. Ein Buch, das nicht einfach nur Seiten hat. Sondern Sterne. ⭐️

Jeder dieser Sterne enthält etwas Besonderes – ein kleiner, digitaler Schatz:

Ein Lachen. Ein Lied. Ein „Ich hab dich lieb“.

Ich wollte kein Buch, das im Regal verstaubt. Ich wollte eine Schatztruhe zum Aufklappen. Ein Erinnerungsbuch, das nicht nur gelesen, sondern erlebt wird.

I often ask myself what happened to writing your partner a physical note, a letter...reading a piece of poetry and thinking of somebody.

I really ask myself what people consider as 'romance' nowadays that actually never had been real romance to start with. Am I the only one noticing the decrease of handwrittenletters and pieces to your loved ones? Everything seems to be so digitalizied poeple start to lose sense for handwritten magic. I see this especially in men who are enormously interwined with tech in general. But also more and more in women. And this is what I truly miss- especially as writing has always been my passion. Everybody seems to be so busy 'online' that they do not find time for being 'offline' and in the here and now. And this is real loss of romanticism , isn't it. When you are constantly bound to a screen and distract yourself so much through it that you get addicted. It's becoming a drug, a kick of temporary stimulation that, in fact, is getting you absolutely nowhere. Even worse that that- you lose yourself in an artificial world, numbing your feelings. You distance yourself from real socialisation as you are constantly interwined in digital, virtual communication. It is not physical though. Romance is not flowers and chocolate everyday imo. It's not going to a new restaurant everyday and post how marvellous everything is. Break the illusion. Real romance, in my opinion, is noticing the sweet delicate things about your loved one and bring them joyous moments of joy and love. May it be by lighting a candle, swimming or hiking together. Picknicking in nature or just being silent together. Float through time together. Tapping into poetry and deep trust.Honoring the mere depth of the connection alone. I feel like so many people distract themselves from their true feelings by numbing them, and this does not have to be certainly connected to substantial abuse. There are so many mechanisms nowadays to get high without really consuming a substance itself. Distraction , imo, is the biggest killer of relationships.

My dear brother,

It’s Sunday today and you’re never out of my thoughts. As to these things, I’d find ‘the longer you stay there, the more bored you’ll be’ very applicable to business; ‘the more you’ll enjoy yourself’ to painting — enjoy here in a serious sense of a zest for life, good spirits, energy…..

What shall I do now? — the customary term is ‘What is your aim, what is your aspiration?’ — oh, I shall do what I shall do — how? I don’t know beforehand — do you, who ask me this priggish question: what is your aim, what is your aspiration? Now people say ‘you lack character if you have no aim, no aspiration’. My answer: I didn’t tell you that I had no aim, no aspiration; I said that I found it unspeakably priggish to want to force someone to define what is indefinable.

So these are my thoughts on certain questions about life. The whole discussion about them is one of the things that I describe as ‘boring’. Live — do something — and that’s more enjoyable, that’s more positive….

One must take it up with assurance, with a conviction that one is doing something reasonable, like the peasant guiding his plough or like our friend in the scratch, who is doing his own harrowing. If one has no horse, one is one’s own horse — a lot of people do that here. You must regard it not as a change — as a deeper penetration.

You’ve learned to see art over the years — now you go on, already knowing what you want to make. Don’t think that this is a little thing.

You can be decisive, you know what you want…
