        Around this time, not much was happening. A normal thing considering how late it already was, but for Joe it was merely the beginning oft he night. He only rode the subway for… what? Maybe an hour? Two? How you lost your sense for time when it didn’t matter, only what kind of people you’d meet. And he met some already. They always came. After all this was his usual spot, easy for potential clients to approach him. Unfortunately it also attracted SOME UNHAPPY OLD ONES and just as unhappy partners in crime who knew where to find him. It was tiring. They really liked to ruin his little recruiting spot. Liked to snoop, to pester. Still… this wasn’t quite it.

        As Joe turned to the unfamiliar voice a motorcycle scarf covered the lower half of his face, white stars on black fabric. He didn’t recognize her face. Didn’t know what this was about before he analyzed the words the stranger uttered and glanced past her. ❛❛Mhmmm, is that so? How rude.❜❜ A DAMSEL IN DISTRESS, MAYBE? Ohh, this rather normal evening had the new potential to get interesting. Joe tilted his head at the other as his gaze shifts back. ❛❛It would be a shame to see anything happen to such a nice girl, wouldn’t it? Now... how do we get you out of this -- situation ??❜❜ He leant in a little, his tone conspiratorial but a tad bit too delighted, considering the reason behind her question. ❛❛What did you do?❜❜

1. @harttoheart - We've only just begun to interact but the mun is wonderful as I've already said. I'm intrigued by her muses and I'm looking forward to learning more! And I think you all will too 😊 I will also say I'm already beginning to adore Julia :3 No doubts that others will too!!

2. @diicktective - We've not written together much but her presence on my dash brings me joy! Swift amuses me so much. When I pass him by on the dash it's the same vibe as those 30 min laugh shows, including the side of feels. Also I don't hold much conversation with the mun but I just love her quirky ooc updates when we're blessed with them ❤ So yeah, highly recommend!!

This...this was dangerous.

This was dangerous.

It’s difficult to see the surrounding street beneath her wings but it looks mostly absent of anything too suspicious. The occasional scattered guardian wandered the streets back and forth. The black-clad men were too far away for June to be genuinely worried that they were watching. That didn’t mean anything. This could far too easily be a trap, lost woman on the street? More like an eye’s little helper looking for the defector.

Yet as June witnesses the helpless look on her face, the desperation in her eyes and then she looks around again. She feels something inside of herself collapse in the manner of which a structurally weak house may collapse. Because truth simply be told; June had been that helpless once. 

“Do--”, the word catches on chapped lips, “where is your commander?” It wasn’t what she wanted to ask. This woman didn’t look like a handmaid, didn’t sound like a handmaid. Better to be cautious anyway.

     “Oh, I’m sorry,” she answered, without a single drop of genuine contrition. “I wasn’t aware you were so sensitive.” With a roll of her eyes, Sylvie drew her attention away and sighed with great exaggeration. “However will I survive without knowing the answer?”

Because even if Julia was too nervous to pose or even smile, that was Elizabeth’s job to make art. Her camera is lifted to her eye  -  a vintage analog carefully polished and refurbished  -  and centered on the other. She crouches a little for a better angle before removing the lens just a bit from her view. Elizabeth smiles,  reassuring and encouraging all at once.

     All it took was one sharp, lingering look at her face for Sylvie to make up her mind. If it hadn’t been the eye, it would’ve been the scent cluing her in. Something entirely unappetizing. It was all she could do not to sneer with disgust.

     “No, thank you,” she replied, stiffly. Her dark, blue-lidded eyes remained unflinchingly steady. “I’m not in the mood for… whatever you are.” Even if she was desperate for blood, near to starvation, Sylvie wouldn’t have taken up the offer. Her lips parted in a faint sigh, her eyes glancing away to watch the street, the sky, the folks in the distance. “And I prefer to find my own meals. I’m picky.”

        ❝ Jules! ❞   Genuine, ecstatic joy beams from Elizabeth as she turns, drawn by her voice. She immediately sets down her camera, halts everything she’d been doing   ( in prep for a final )   and rushes over to Julia. Arms thrown around her waist, she lifts and gives her a twirl.    ❝ I missed you! ❞

As she settles Julia back down on her feet, Elizabeth reserves herself once again. It felt a little foreign to be so excited, so exuberant, but it had been a while, and Elizabeth was rather keen on Julia. Though her expression softens, her brightness does not.
